Much more than a retreat center, Hayulima is truly a sacred sanctuary led by one of the most amazing and loving families you will ever encounter in your life. Over the years I have continued to return to Ecuador to share special moments, ceremonies, and beautiful time with this special family of extremely skilled medicine men and women. Beyond their vast mastery of plant medicine ceremonies and spiritual healing, this family truly welcomes you into their home with open arms. With over 25 years of experience, the leaders here are certainly the most capable and skilled medicine people I have ever worked with. My time here at Hayulima, and with each member of this beautiful family, has radically altered the course of my life forever. All of the medicines are prepared and cooked here, and they even allow you to assist with the process. For anyone seeking a loving community, safe and life changing plant medicine ceremonies, pristine nature, and beautiful way of learning these traditions… Look no further than Hayulima Spiritual Sanctuary.

My favorite center by far. Truly a family with so much love and balance and joy. They want to help from such a deep place that’s so incredibly inspirational. I’m so grateful for my time here and consider this my go-to

There are so many places where one can drink plant medicines these days- it can be hard to decide where to go. So, why Hayulima?
This is not a retreat facility, you will be in a very small group, supported by a family. The medicine ( the brew, the space, the family) will be gentle, but FIRM. This family is not playing around with your money, like some centers will- they are doing the work right beside you- and in doing so, they will add energy to your work. This is a group effort and you will walk away amazed at what humans can accomplish in such a small amount of time. A truly beautiful, human experience that will take you through the entire range of what our emotions are capable of- Hayulima is the place to be.
Gracias Amalia, Salvador, Paulina, Fernanda, Matias, Diana, and all who support everyone who comes to your home for the extra courage we need to face the world.

The family at Hayulima is the best. Such humility, integrity, and love in every detail. I have been drinking medicine with this family for over five years, from the time that they worked in another retreat center to today, when they have been able to build their own center, totally in line with their way of life. The family considers the center their home, as they live on site with their children. As Salvador says, this is not a business, this is a way of life. By coming, you are joining this family.

I have drank medicine with both of my elderly parents and brought many friends. Recently, I attended a retreat with my 8-month old daughter. The family helped me with childcare and both of us felt utterly safe and supported. I would recommend this place to anyone. It is beautiful.

A word that represents my experience at Hayulima is “embrace”. I felt this way from the moment of arrival when my friends and I were welcomed like family. This embrace can be felt in the food, the ceremonies and the land. There is no way to quite fully put it into words so I hope that if you have made it this far in your curiosity you take the next step to make this experience a reality!

There are many beautiful locations on this site and what makes this one stand so unique is the family that is waiting to meet you with that warm embrace just the same. Enjoy and good luck
