As a first timer sitting with ayahuasca I’m so glad I found Hayulima. The facilitators treat you like family, create such a safe container, and provide so much support for you on your healing journey.
The food was 10/10. Although there is some unrest in Ecuador, Hayulima is secluded in the mountains very far from the regions in conflict and I felt 100% safe the whole time. I’m glad I didn’t let that deter me from having this life changing experience.

Thank you Salvador, Amalia, Gaucho Matias, and Fernanda. You are some of the most amazing people I have met and will always be in my heart.

The medicine listens to your intentions. If you are super nervous you can ask the medicine to help you feel safe to surrender. Worked for me 🙂

Much more than just a retreat center, a true sanctuary. A beautiful family that makes you feel truly welcome in each moment. The healing here goes much deeper than just the medicine, the sanctuary and the family environment here is the real medicine. Hayulima helped me to recognize how we are the medicine ourselves, and are capable of our own healing and growth. I will definitely be returning. Todo es Familia!

The Hayulima team (Amalia, Fernand, Matias, Diana, Salvador and all the wonderful volunteers) provided me with an experience that words cannot adequately describe.
I experienced profound healing and spiritual growth through the ayahuasca and San Pedro medicines.
The group of healers that I had the privilege of being surrounded by were truly beautiful souls.
From the moment I arrived, I could feel the authenticity and purity radiating from each person I encountered. It was as if we were all connected on a deeper level, united by our shared journey with the life-changing medicine. The bond that formed between us was nothing short of magical.

Throughout the entire experience, I felt safe and supported. Amalia and the healers guided me every step of the way, ensuring that I was comfortable and able to fully embrace the healing process. Their presence was a constant source of reassurance and guidance.

I am filled with immense gratitude for this transformative experience and for all the incredible individuals I crossed paths with along the way. To my newfound family at Hayulima, I say, “A’ho!” Thank you for the profound impact you have had on my life.

Nothing I say will do justice to my experience and feelings at Hayulima – I came to this retreat on a friend’s recommendation and was totally led by my gut in trusting him and the universe that it was guiding me to where I needed to be. Having worked with the plant medicines a few times before, I knew what I was signing up for, but the journeys I had here were way beyond anything I had ever experienced before. They were beautiful, powerful and incredibly heart opening + healing. Salvador, Amalya, Fernanda, Diana & Mattias are all such powerful space holders and I felt so safe and loved being guided by them every step along the way. They do their work seriously and lovingly and you feel the depth of their dedication and wisdom when you watch them work alongside you. I’ve never felt so seen and held for all that I have been dealing with and their compassion + wisdom helped me make the most of all my journeys.

Watching Salvador give his undivided time and attention to every single person at the Kambo ceremonies was probably one of my favourite things – he never rushed the process and waited patiently for each one of us to get the most out of it. They were all also always available to talk through any challenges or questions that we had. Right from Temezcal, to Kambo, to San Pedro and Aya… every single ceremony was powerful, beautiful and unique. And all of this was wonderfully complemented by their beautiful music, nourishing food and the gorgeous setting of the retreat centre. I’ve come out of this experience with a full heart knowing that I fully received what I needed. Highly recommend it to anyone on the path and feeling called to work with the medicines. You’ll be in good hands and looked after really well.

I recommended this retreat center to my partner who is currently staying at Hayulima for the retreat this month. I had met the founding shaman, Salvador, at a different center in 2016 and experienced such powerful healing with him. He has such big heart and holds everyone with such love and devotion during the ayahuasca ceremonies. My partner had been to Peru for healing with ayahuasca and did not have good experiences. I knew that by going to Hayulima, she would be 100 % taken care off and that she would be in the loving hands of the shaman and community at this center. I am so happy to report that we had a Zoom meeting tonight and she told me how powerful the healings are at Hayulima and how incredibly loving and supportive everyone is. I am so grateful to Salvador and his team of shaman! Thank you for taking such good care of everyone and making everyone feel like they are family! I am also so grateful the the cost of the retreat at Hayulima is affordable and non-greedy, so that young people on a lower budget and people who are not well off financially have the possibility to come and heal as well. Thank you to the Hayulima family!!!
