We are an ethical, non profit ayahuasca retreat center, based in the Sacred Valley, Peru. Our passion is helping humanity heal and giving back to Mother Earth from which we come. We only work with healers who come from a long tradition of shamanism. Our core group of healers are of the Shipibo lineage, the oldest known lineage of the medicine. The Shipibo have been working with Mother Ayahuasca for centuries forming an unbelievable bond with the plants and spirits of the Amazon Rain Forest . Having honed the skills of their ancestors, their healing is truly profound. The Shipibos are masterful healers indeed, but they are not the only ones. We will also be hosting special retreats with healers from all over the globe bringing their ancestral medicine giving you the opportunity to experience the healing of the world.

May 28, 2022 at 6:23 amWe’re writing this review based on our concerns before making our first Ayahuasca retreat journey, which we believe is a good starting point for people in the same situation.
Before starting, we would just like to make clear that none of our concerns became true, and the experience we had was truly amazing. Michael and his family, which we’re now proud to be a part of, is just … so amazing!
Travelling as a couple – even though we were travelling jointly, it was important to each of us to do our own personal journey within. We’ve had some plant medicine experience before going on this journey, but not with Ayahuasca specifically, and hence we did not know how either of us would react to the medicine. So travelling together felt safe to us. This was really positive, as we could reflect together. However, during the ceremonies we were strict with not interacting.
We asked for separate rooms but ended up sleeping together every night except for one (no sex though). Still, it was good to have your separate rooms for times when you wanted your own space to contemplate.
We reviewed a lot of centres before going with Anahata, and of course we were not sure at the time, but everything turned out to be better than expected.
Location – about an hour drive from Cusco. We were picked up at the airport by the center which was very convenient. And compared to many of the retreats located in Iquitos where you need a +2 hour boat ride, we were so happy about making the choice for a center in the Secret Valley area.
Center – We did not want it too “commercial” and were looking for a more “simple” setup, still we did not feel like staying in the jungle in the simple huts that you see in some of the retreats. The scenery in the Secret Valley is just amazing!
Agenda – We were only able to do the 7 day retreat due to our travel arrangement, and this was a good length for a first time and the agenda was quite intense with several medicines and lots of impressions to digest. We had 3 Aya ceremonies, 1 Huachuma and then it was optional to do Kambo and Bufo. We did all and would advise anyone who’s not sure to go for it, you do not need to decide until you come there. This was one of the reasons why we chose Anahata – to have the possibilities to try the different medicines.
And don’t be worried that you will not have enough ayahuasca during the ceremony. If the first cup is not enough, you will have three more times to refill. So, how do I know if I need more? “If you think you need more, then you’ll probably need more” as Michael directed us in the beginning.
Note, that it is up to you to let them know if you need more.
There are tons of others to mention that were just super positive but that we were not concerned about before, and hence do not go into detail here.
– Food – our private chef, Pacco, served us with so much good food during the visit and interesting discussions.
– The Family – except for Michael and Sam, all the friends coming in to facilitate and take part in the ceremonies made this experience even better.
During the ceremonies we felt safe, loved and supported. This journey has changed our lives completely. In ways we couldn’t even imagine and we feel that we’re truly a part of a family now. We’re excited to go back!

May 26, 2022 at 11:37 pmMy time at Anahata Ayahuasca was a beautiful, cathartic, and deep healing experience. The shamans and facilitators are genuine and compassionate. Their love for the medicine and love for humanity is apparent. To me it made a huge impact for me. I had one particular hard ceremony. Michael reached out to me and made sure I was ok. He assured me to trust in the process and everything is ok. To trust myself. It was a humbling experience that I will cherish. In doing so I trusted the facilitators and the shamans. The retreats are limited to 6 participants. Ensuring personal attention. The shamans sing beautiful personal icaros to all the participants. The facility is located just down the mountain of the Pisac ruins. With breathtaking views. Clean and spacious rooms. If you are looking for a retreat center that has your healing as a priority. Look no further than Anahata Ayahuasca. I love Anahata and they are now my family. Aho!

May 26, 2022 at 10:41 pmAyahuasca ceremonies at Anahatha are amazing. It has been the beginning of a healing journey and a life changing experience. Michael and Sami take care of everything with so much love and beauty. They are really present before, during and after the ceremonies, helping you integrate and supporting you in your journey. It was a true gift to share space with Maestro Roberto and Maestro Elias, also key in the ceremonies, bringing so much light and healing with their Icaros. It is a honor to be part of their beautiful family. I could not imagine a better place to meet Ayahuasca. Thanks so much for doing the work!

May 24, 2022 at 11:34 amI’ve been working with plant medicines for more than 13 years now, and the people at Anahata still managed to impress me. Everything was just beautiful: the facilitators, the shamans, the medicine, the energies… I know we all have different healing processes, and some can feel painful, even at the most loving places. That’s why I prefer to focus on the values shared by the people who run a place, knowing they will provide the best assistance, even when going through a challenging process. For me, the most important qualities are: kindness, respect, integrity and competence. And you’ll find all this at Anahata, with an extra dose of genuine Love. I was lucky to attend Ayahuasca ceremonies with 3 Shipibo shamans, whose mastery and power were extremely humbling. The center itself is really pretty, cosy, clean, with a stunning view on the mountains of the Sacred Valley.
I can only recommend Anahata for people willing to heal and explore themselves in a safe, caring, intimate and supportive environment. I’m deeply grateful.
