Ayahuasca $340 - $1,600

Shamanic Vida

Cusco, Peru

A small retreat center focused on individual healing plant medicine process in groups of no more than 10 participants at a time. We are located in the famous Sacred Valley of the Incas in a remote Andean village. Scheduling is by request. We offer 4, 6 and 11 Day Retreats, Kambo treatments and stays, all with the option to extend for more time resting or deeper cleansing. The retreat healings plants and therapies include Ayahuasca, Yopo, San Pedro, Kambo and Temazcal (Sweat Lodge).

Our purpose is to create a ripple effect in the consciousness of humanity through work with sacred plant medicines of Peru and healing techniques we have chosen, through our own positive experiences, and believe compliment the process of plant medicines. To bring about a new earth first we must help heal the traumas of the past.

We first must begin healing the individual in a gentle process. Each process is considered on an individual basis and what the healers feel would be best suited to the work they would like to accomplish. There is space to explore deeper and daily consultations after ceremony to begin to understand the messages of the plant medicine and have a focus for the next ceremony.

The longer the retreat, the deeper the healing. All of our programs are intensive, however there is space to take your time in the healing process through extending your retreat or opting to take less or no medicine. We guide participants only to where they feel comfortable or ready for. The ceremonies are practiced in a sacred context with Icaros (medicine songs) and sacred instruments. Each ceremony has assistants to help care for each person and anything they need.

During your time at the retreat you will have everything you need for a comfortable stay with all modern necessities. We provide everything, you need only to bring yourself and a few pairs of warmer clothes. In the Andes, we can experience all four seasons in one day, but tend to have cold nights and warm days. There are Incan ruins above the center and plenty of hiking trails around, so comfortable clothes and good shoes are a must.

With the power of the heart we are bringing every person into the healing power of the sacred medicinal plants of Peru through ceremony. We have ongoing local projects offering people in the nearby town healings and ceremonies.

I waited for a month to write this review because I wanted to see how the experience translated into positive change. I have spent over a decade attending ‘retreats’ all over the world seeking to be ‘fixed’. Never have I ever come so close after spending 6 days with Shamanic Vida. Paco and Chrissy are true healers so interested and aware of your needs. Even while working with someone like myself who has difficulty expressing anything, I felt able to open myself completely. The space they hold makes you feel so safe and supported. The difficulties I experienced prior to coming have not disappeared nor will they ever but the way I cope and feel every day is so different, no longer resisting but accepting of the energies and circumstances around me. I will return to Shamanic Vida whenever possible. I feel so blessed to have found them and to have them in my life.

I have no words enought to thank you Pacco and Chrissy. They are absolutly beautiful souls and a wonderful people; in constant learning and preparing. I joined twice Ayahuasca ceremonies in Shamanic Vida this year, first in march and the last one 4 days ago, i can say both were Perfect! i came with them since last year because of i had (yes, now it is past) problems with my knees (rheumatoid arthritis). Pacco provided me 3 Kambo ceremonies, rapé and temazcal and all his love and knowledge to help me and guide me in this life. Everytime i visit them dont want to leave, and that is a thing that also feel and felt all people/friends/relatives that i introduce(d) them…You can feel the plants/and medicine throught them, it is so powerfull and magical, exactly how the Universe works, right?
In spite my first close to sacred plants was in 2016, it is just with Pacco and Chrissy that i really found more that i could imagine, i have never felt scared, they always take care ourself, you feel safe and calm to prepear yoursef before during and after each ceremony. I am glad to met them, besides their beautiful Liana daugther and “Mini” the lovely peruvian hairless dog. They are the family you should met

Near Perfect. An amazing experience for sure and hard-won.
What you put in is definitely what you get out. Chrissy has a hard edge
approach with the dieta and fasting but if you prepare and
can get through the no food followed by the ‘bananas only stage,’ and have focused your intentions for the retreat, then the medicine will lead you to some amazing places. It would be impossible not to experience a certain amount of internal growth in this serene setting and supportive atmosphere.

And while Pacco is a young Shaman (6 years experience) his natural ease, generosity, and musicianship sets the tone for self-growth. And in the years to come as he matures out of the wiles of being a 28 y/o I’m sure an even greater Shaman will emerge with a lot of wisdom to impart.

This was my first time to Peru (it is a beautifully charming and spiritual place) and my first experience with Mama Ayahuasca and other sacred plant healers…or anything even remotely close! I had never dabbled with any recreational drugs or healing medicines of this kind before. But following a conversation with a close friend, I suddenly felt a real, heartfelt calling to be open to the healing power of these plant medicines and, though it was one of the most challenging things I’ve done, I am incredibly happy that I followed my instinct.

I was there for 11 days but even the 6 days is incredibly intense. It is not a magical cure that will wash over you as you lounge back – it’s work and it’s tough! You are a warrior out there. This is not to put you off at all – because with this bravery, openness, flow, discipline, respect, you allow yourself the opportunity to heal and grow profoundly, however subtle.

As Angel said below (just read his review) – we crossed paths on our retreats for his 6 days and he was a truly beautiful soul to share the start of my experience with – though it can be for some people, it’s not always huge, magical transformations. For me, it was the same… I was aware of healing taking place and know in my heart that small shifts have happened… but time will reveal how this all unfolds for me.

The journey can be quite overwhelming – certainly for me on the 11-day retreat, more people came and went who weren’t always quite of the same mindset in terms of vulnerability and healing which I realise affected my ‘letting go’ a little. I felt much more at peace when just with the people who were there with similar intentions. I shared my last few days with one other person who had been with me from the start and a new cohort of 5 retreatees and again they were all fantastic – gentle, supportive, there with similar motivation. I could have stayed longer with this group for sure. Something I didn’t think I’d be saying halfway through when spending yet another ceremony vomiting!

Yeps, this is a very common symptom of the plant medicines – to purge, to clear… But everyone reacts differently – including yourself from one ceremony to another – so, hard though it is, try not to have expectation. Paco will repeat this time and time again! And rest assured, should it be uncomfortable, that it passes… and healing is taking place… all is good…

Chrissy and Paco are wonderful and I speak so highly of them. Chrissy is incredibly professional – she is pragmatic and has things running smoothly and efficiently – and she is also a wonderful listener who gives you time, really hears you and takes on board exactly what you’re saying. She is helpful and accommodating, cares about the process and your stay there, and as a Reiki master and spiritual reader, is also very intuitive, connected and a beautiful healer herself.

Paco is a genuinely incredible shaman… so connected, inspiring and wise, and such a joyous bundle of warmth, love and playfulness! 🙂 Like Chrissy, he is a fabulous and generous listener and is wonderfully patient. He is an approachable, experienced and enlightened teacher and leads the ceremonies emanating his beautiful spirituality, gratitude and love for life, this Universe and Mother Earth – including, of course, the utmost respect he has for the sacred healing plants he works so gently with. I could not have wished for a better, more knowledgeable, more loving shaman to guide me and I know I’m not alone in this thinking!

Paco and Chrissy are truly authentic in what they do, care deeply about your journey and, despite the challenges you may face along the way, I can almost guarantee they’ll make you smile 🙂

You are in safe and caring hands, and hearts… and if unsure of anything, just ask! Go with an open mind and heart…and see how your journey unfolds… I would not hesitate to recommend Shamanic Vida. Plus they have Minnie the Inca dog and a wee pup they saved to open your hearts even further! Enjoy… With love and respect 🙂 xxx

If you’re reading this, and you can’t make a choice, stop overthinking your (already made) decision to change your life and take a leap of faith — not in the universe,
not in your belief system, but in yourself to land on your feet and spring roots like a tree; faith to not only grow, but to flourish in whatever reality you choose. Life is waiting for you.

What Shamanic Vida offered me was not a magical solution to my perceived problems, but a reality check into what I created and nurtured. Nothing here was given but the free will to be present in and accountable for your life’s path, along with the encouragement of having compassion for yourself. If you are ready to be humbled, and to laugh and cry and release (should you choose it), and if you are prepared to dance through light and shadow, then this community will receive you with open arms. I am incredibly grateful for the noble work they do, and when you depart, hopefully your heart will be ready to continue that work and be open too.

Also know that Ayahuasca is waiting for you wherever and however you choose to find her. So all you need is trust in yourself to go. A kind, and hilarious, shaman once told me: “Everything is perfect.” And everything was. Go meet him! (And Chrissy too! She’s an AMAZING healer in her own right.)

    With love,

    Angel
