At Sapan Inka, we believe participating in an Ayahuasca retreat is a powerful opportunity for profound energetic and spiritual cleansing and healing. An Ayahuasca experience can be immensely favorable for those embarking on a journey of transformation and spiritual development. Our unique model is a conscious synthesis of the millenary wisdom of Amazonian medicine and the principles of depth and transpersonal psychology. We are not a center for spiritual tourism or mere Ayahuasca experiences; we are a dedicated space for exploring the deep psyche, practicing ancestral Amazonian medicine, and supporting transformative processes.
We distinguish ourselves through our philosophy of minimal interference and the unwavering shamanic and spiritual support provided in our ceremonies. Our commitment to ethics and professionalism is paramount. We believe an Ayahuasca ceremony is an opening to the reality of the soul and a world of sacred images. For this reason, we practice minimal interference during your experience of expanded states of consciousness, allowing the healing intelligence of Ayahuasca and your own inner being to guide the process. This is not abandonment or a lack of warmth; it is a conscious act of respect and trust in your innate capacity to heal and in the divine power of the medicine itself.
The transformative power of Ayahuasca is fully realized through a structured integration process. At Sapan Inka, our psychotherapeutic integration is more than a simple conversation; it is a rigorous process designed to help you assimilate, process, and effectively integrate your experiences. We provide a space for you to understand the intricate symbolic language of your visions, converting profound insights into tangible and lasting change. This is how the spiritual revelations from the ceremonies are bridged with your daily life, ensuring the journey leads to genuine personal growth.
To navigate this journey, rigorous preparation is essential. An Ayahuasca experience can be incredibly challenging, and its potency demands thorough mental, emotional, and spiritual readiness. It is crucial for participants to understand that this is not a shortcut, but a deep and profound inner work that requires commitment and maturity.
Given the serious nature of our work, we are aware that our approach may not satisfy everyone’s expectations. Those who seek a more superficial, less confrontational experience or group activities may find other centers more suitable. Our model is designed for individuals committed to holistic healing and willing to embark on a serious psychospiritual path. This is why our groups are intentionally small, to ensure the personalized and ethical attention that is the cornerstone of our years of experience and dedication.
At Sapan Inka, our commitment is to support you on your journey, respecting the authenticity of your process and providing a safe and professional environment for a genuine transformation.
If you wish to explore the details of our retreats or simply prefer a more personal connection before beginning your journey, we invite you to schedule a 15-minute video call with us.

July 10, 2025 at 5:50 amA journey of Ayahuasca is deeply personal on many levels. However the exterior environment and professionalism can greatly affect the outcome of the process. In all of these Sapan Inka center has been excellent. I have not only been a guest or participant in their House but I have felt I became a part of a spiritual family.
The House is a true sacred space , with a clean , welcoming and deep atmosphere. But what is most important: Erik and Nidal have both have a long history for over 10+ years training and 25+ years working with the Medicine, having been selected as healers, having fought the battles of overcoming and becoming to be true guides.
What is more: very rarely does a shaman have overlook on both traditional AND scientific/ psychological aspects of the process, but Erik and Nidal are one of those very rare ones, even going for a PhD in psychology. Their real interest in learning and evolving while combining a deep understanding of plant medicine makes Sapan Inka a unique and hard to find place on Earth.
On my 5 day retreat I happened to find myself in a unique situation: I was the only one participating on the retreat (has not happened for years)! But the shamans gave me all their effort and attention and went through the process nonetheless as normal. This was a great help for me having travelled across the world not to cancel my retreat and I am humbled to have received All of their support and truly professional guidance. I was also offered to contact them any time in the future if I have any further questions on my spiritual developement.
This was beyond any doubt one of the highlights of my spiritual life and I have had the chance to experience it with true mentors and real friends in a blessed space.
I admit decision before has not been easy for me, but I encourage everyone: take the leap.

June 2, 2025 at 1:17 pmI recently attended a retreat at Sapan Inka, where I participated in three Ayahuasca ceremonies. Throughout the entire process, I felt supported and genuinely cared for by Erik and Nilda. The retreat house was very comfortable, the food was nourishing, and the setting in the Sacred Valley was stunning.
The experience felt deeply authentic to tradition, especially as two of the ceremonies were held with a visiting shaman from the Amazon. Their presence brought a powerful and traditional energy to the space. The Icaros (medicine songs) were particularly special and became an essential part of my journey. Erik and Nilda have over 20 years of experience working with Ayahuasca and the shaman, which gave me a strong sense of safety. The ceremonies were conducted in a highly intentional way, with doses tailored to each individual.
Before the first ceremony and again the morning after each one, we had private conversations with Erik. I found this to be especially important for understanding and integrating the experience.
Now, a month later, I can truly feel the positive impact the retreat has had on me. I’ve gained greater self-awareness, a deeper trust in life, and a renewed sense of gratitude. It was a profound and meaningful experience that I’ll carry with me always, and I would love to return in the future to continue the work with Ayahuasca.
I would definitely recommend Sapan Inka to anyone seeking a genuine Ayahuasca experience.

May 30, 2025 at 3:54 amMy experience at Sapan Inka was truly life-changing.
The ceremonies were powerful, intense, and held with great care. I felt deeply supported throughout the process by Erik and Nilda, whose presence was warm, humble, and wise. The space itself is beautiful, safe, and rooted in deep respect for the medicine and the Shipibo tradition.
During my stay, I experienced moments of clarity, joy, and deep release. Some visions brought messages of love, others brought shadows to the surface — but all were part of a greater process of healing and remembering. After the second ceremony in particular, I felt something shift profoundly in me.
The integration afterward is not easy, but it’s very meaningful. I’ve made changes in my daily life, and I feel more present with myself.
If you feel called to do this work, I would recommend Sapan Inka wholeheartedly. It’s a place of deep sincerity, integrity, and care.
Thank you for everything.

May 21, 2025 at 10:26 pmI can’t recommend this experience enough. Erik and Nilda are kind, caring, and extremely professional. They are genuinely invested in your well-being. There wasn’t a single moment when I didn’t feel entirely safe or well taken care of. Their beautiful home is in a peaceful part of the Sacred Valley, providing ample opportunity for reflection, contemplation, and feeling one with nature. I really appreciated the daily one on one check-in sessions with Erik. He is knowledgeable in multiple disciplines and truly wise. The shamans were treated with respect and love, creating a friendly and reverent atmosphere. You’ll fall in love with their dogs and Nilda’s cooking!

April 20, 2025 at 11:10 pmFor those walking the path of plant medicine, I’ve always felt it would be deeply helpful to hear from people not just fresh out of a retreat, but after they’ve returned home—after the dust settles and the integration begins. So, here’s my story.
In 2022, my husband and I were facing some real challenges in our marriage. We had both sat in ayahuasca ceremonies before—he had done seven, and I had done six. Each journey had touched us in different ways. When we chose to attend a retreat together, it was with a shared intention: to grow individually and to heal as a couple.
After much research, we found Sapan Inka—and on the second night of the retreat, I had the most profound ayahuasca journey of my life. To this day, I still don’t fully understand what I experienced, but I know it shifted something deep inside me. The process wasn’t easy for either of us, but it was powerful, sacred, and deeply healing. It helped us reconnect in ways we hadn’t even realized we needed.
Erik and Nilda held such a tender, safe container. Their space was truly sacred, and the food—nourishing and intentional—was incredible. I was especially drawn to Sapan Inka because of Erik’s background in transpersonal psychology and his devotion to honoring the wisdom of the Peruvian and Amazonian traditions. It meant so much that he met with us on Zoom before the retreat and stayed connected for follow-ups after the ceremonies. That kind of care makes a difference.
Today, nearly three years later, our marriage is stronger than ever. In September 2025, we will celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary—with more love, more presence, and more gratitude than I ever could’ve imagined.
Plant medicine journeys are not the end of healing—they are the doorway. They crack your heart open and invite you into growth. But the real transformation happens when you return home. Integration—living the lessons, staying open, and practicing presence—is where the magic takes root.
Please don’t forget this part. Integration is different for everyone: meditation, yoga, breathwork, time in nature, exercise, mindfulness, cooking with love, blessing your food… whatever it is for you, let it come from the heart. This is your journey, your story. You are the author. You write the recipe for your life.
With love and gratitude for this human experience—which is rarely easy, but always sacred—I know that if you have the courage to face your pain, to walk through it rather than around it, you will grow in love beyond what you ever thought possible.
