SAPAN INKA

If you are looking for a deep and transformative ayahuasca experience or a shamanic healing experience, maybe you can be part of one of our Ayahuasca Retreats. In our Retreat Center there is a real integration between Amazon wisdom and Psychospiritual Practice. Our commitment is to help and guide you in a journey to the spiritual dimension, and you will be able to experience mental clarity, emotional balance and inner growth.

These are our retreats: Sapan Inka Ayahuasca Retreats

We are Psychotherapists and we are also shamans and ayahuasca guides. We’ve been training directly with Shipibo healers since more than 20 years, we are as part of the Shipibo family. We are Peruvians and we have a sincere and true commitment to protect our traditions and cultural heritage. The ayahuasca used at Sapan Inka grows in Shipibo lands and the Ayahuasca medicine is prepared by Shipibo healers.

We organize our Ayahuasca Retreats in our house at home in the Sacred Valley of the Incas in Cusco, Peru. You can feel safe and as a part of our family when you participate in a retreat. In our retreats you will participate in ayahuasca and San Pedro ceremonies. We use only ancestral medicinal plants and no other substances.

We include in our Retreats the use of Pandora Star Light, this device emits flashing beams of light focused on the retina, stimulating different regions of the brain. People who are exposed to light with their eyelids closed may experience images of kaleidoscopic patterns, of mandalic and psychedelic type, which may allow deep introspection, similar to a state of deep meditation. To participate in this session with the Light helps the body to produce its own DMT by simulation of the pineal gland. So, a session with the Light helps to be more prepared for the Ayahuasca experience and the journey to the psychic reality.

To participate in an Ayahuasca Retreat is a possibility to explore your spiritual dimension, reconnect with the healing power of you own body and spirit, and reconnect with higher Self.

I did the 6 day retreat which consisted of two Ayahuasca and one San Pedro ceremony in addition, a trip to Machu Picchu, which I thoroughly enjoyed and its an experience I will cherish. Communication between myself and Erik and Nilda was timely and smooth. They set up my transportation from my place to the retreat and back when my time was done, so there really wasn’t anything to worry about. The retreat is located in Urubamba which is about a 1 hour and 30 minute drive from Cusco, the scenery and the local people you see are beautiful so be sure to take pictures.
The retreat itself is set in the middle of nature, surrounded by mountains, with a garden courtyard and beautifully built buildings. The two Ayahuasca ceremonies were visually stunning and intense, and I learned and am still learning from those experiences. I got to share my experience with four other awesome people from around the world over delicious meals that Erik and Nilda provided us. Erik was very helpful during our conversations in helping me interpret my trips I had. The San Pedro ceremony helped me integrate my Ayahuasca experiences and connected me with my surroundings on our hike up the mountain towards the ancient ruins. Overall I had a tremendously great time that I’ll never forget. For myself it was worth the investment.

I visited the Erik and Nilda in May of 2022 and I must say it was an awesome experience. Erik’s knowledge about western psychology, paired with the ancient Inka wisdom from years of living with Shaman’s in the Amazonian region is key for a Ayahuasca experience. Nilda is a warm and loving soul and has a deep knowledge of herbs and plants. I enjoyed the life transforming sessions with them and the deep conversations I had. It is a very private place and due to the small groups they accept they can focus on each individual which I think it is key for such an experience. I strongly recommend Erik and Nilda to everyone. Love & Light to you my friends and everyone who reads this review.

I had a truly wonderful experience at Sapan Inka with Erik and Nilda; my first ever Aya journey. They were highly communicative in advance, during and after the retreat which was reassuring and appreciated. My trips were not what I expected at all and at first I wondered if I’d ‘missed out’ but with the benefit of hindsight I think Mother Aya was showing me exactly what I needed to see; that my limiting thoughts are what hold me back and what I need to address – and also that sometimes cleansing and unblocking your traumas or depressed feelings (especially when they run deep) is what is needed; more so than strong visuals or confrontations. I expect my next experience with ayahuasca will be very different. I had a beautiful and emotional journey with San Pedro as part of my retreat too and witnessing Machu Pachu was incredibly special. I learnt a lot during my stay at Sapan Inka and am still continuing to learn many weeks later. I naively thought the retreat might be the end of my healing journey, really it was just the beginning though and I’m grateful to have begun it with Erik and Nilda <3.

I am forever grateful to Erik and Nilda for holding such a loving, safe, comfortable and sacred space for my first Ayhuasca retreat. Their devotion, commitment, and respect for the medicine and their guests was all extraordinary.

The small group size was perfect. We were 6 strangers who bonded quickly during our shared meals together. Through our conversations it was evident that we all received the individual care we needed during our stay, and that we were all really happy to have chosen Sapan Inka. It was also unanimous that the blinking light device was enjoyed by all. There are so many other positive experiences that concur with what others have already stated.

It was an excellent choice to go to Sapan Inka. I highly recommend Erik and Nilda to guide you on your Ayahuasca journey.

My life has been forever changed because of my experience with Erik and Nilda at Sapan Inka. I visited Sapan Inka as a last resort. Prior to my visit, I had been largely “unsuccessful” in navigating my mental health. I read and researched about the impact of psychedelics and decided to try Ayahuasca. Erik and Nilda were the absolute best guides for this journey. Their love, kindness, investment, and reverence for the sacred plant made this the most profound and meaningful experience of my life. Some say experiencing Mother Aya is like having 30 years of therapy in a few days. While that statement trends toward accuracy, it undersells the impact. At Sapan Inka I walked into a new plane of existence, a new plane of consciousness. Erik and Nilda cultivated this space and experience for us at the retreat. I am forever grateful to them.

More tangibly, their home is lovely. Their garden is a sanctuary. I would embrace the rosemary bushes in their garden and be completely enchanted by the fragrance. I’m far from a vegetarian, but found Nilda’s food to be delicious and delightful enough for me to consider, for a very brief moment, life as a vegetarian.

If you’re reading this you likely have done a lot of reading about Mother Aya, San Pedro, and the other activities offered through Sapan Inka. What I offer to you, fellow travelers, is a humble and full throated endorsement of Sapan Inka. Erik and Nilda are love and Being manifested. They emailed me less than an hour ago asking for me to write a review. I started writing this immediately after telling them I would. For what they have added to my life, they have a friend in me forever. I can’t wait to see them again.

I cannot say enough about Erik and Nilda’s retreat. They are incredible people who sacrifice so much of themselves to help others achieve clarity, peace, rebirth. Their home was inviting, comfortable, safe and peaceful. The surrounding area is beautiful for a short walk outside. The food was healthy and made with lots of care and love. I always felt safe while in their care. Aya is an experience unlike any other and I couldn’t be happier with my choice that it was had under their supervision, guidance and expertise. Thank you both!

I attended a five-day ayahuasca/San Pedro retreat at Sapan Inka in July 2022. Six months later I can report that the experience changed my life for the better in innumerable ways. Erik and Nilda, who run Sapan Inka together, are kind, generous, welcoming, and deeply intuitive. I always felt safe in their presence. Their home and the surrounding property and the temple are beautiful healing spaces. The food was delicious. Erik and Nilda are skilled therapists whose guidance was crucial in helping me navigate the powerful and confusing images/ideas that arose during the ceremonies. They’ve stayed in touch and remained willing to talk via email or Zoom about anything that comes up. Especially after speaking to friends who attended different retreats that had far more attendees at one time, I’m very grateful to have had the close personal attention that only a place like Sapan Inka can provide.

Since others in the comments have mentioned the cold as a negative, I’ll weigh in and say that although I’m extremely cold sensitive, I bundled up and did just fine. Everywhere in the Sacred Valley is cold in July. Erik and Nilda made sure we were all comfortable and had what we needed. I always felt safe and well cared for. There’s no better place I could have chosen than Sapan Inka. I give Erik and Nilda the highest possible recommendation.

I’d like to start off by saying that I have always been extremely apprehensive and skeptical of any psychedelics. This being so because I’m hypersensitive to everything and I am afraid of how extreme of a ‘journey’ I’d undergo should I participate. January 2021 I experienced a life changing trauma/loss that prompted me into looking for therapeutic methods to help me in my healing journey. My partner has always talked about Aayhuasca, but as mentioned I’ve always been skeptical. In late January of 2021 after attending several therapy sessions with psychologists, group sessions for grief and counseling, nothing seemed to offer any type of relief or a light at the end of the tunnel. So I began researching retreat centers to have a visit with mother Aya. I came across Sapan Inka online and after a bit of research my partner and I decided to make the jump and booked the trip. I will be very honest and admit up until we arrived I was sure we were going somewhere remote and possibly getting our organs harvested! I was that terrified. Once we stepped foot on the land, we were greeted by Erik, Nilda and both family dogs at the door with such warmth it immediately put me at ease. I fell in love with the compound, a little oasis. Nilda with her nurturing love, Erik with his calm demeanor who’s voice and presence alone brought me immediate peace. Within the hour I knew we had made the right decision. I owe my healing journey and where I am today to that entire experience. The hosts, the house, the foods, and the group of people who became friends…It is hard to put into words how amazing of a journey it was, intense, emotional, grounding, but life changing in all the positive ways. It’s been over 8 months and I can still feel the effects of the plant medicine. Even though I’ve had several other traumatic experiences in the last month, I have found myself to be more positive, less depressed and more willing to be productive and tackle whatever is coming my way. I made a vow to make this an annual trip and I cannot wait until I see Erik and Nilda again. I highly recommend it.

    Erik/Nilda – gracias por todo!

I went in the retreat on September 2022. Eric and Nilda’s place is amazing, really cozy and confortable. They are amazing people who treat you with so much love and kindness. I had an amazing ayahuasca experience, I learned so much about myself and made understand many other things that I was not even aware of. I am already planning my next trip to Peru and will definetly come to Sapan Inka.

I had my first ceremony in 2022, it was definitely an eye opening experience for me. I am grateful for having Erik & Nilda with me throughout the journey. Their warmth and kindness (did I mention the cute dogs?!) really relaxed me from day 1 and I trusted them to take care of the group. Words cannot express fully of what I’d experienced, I think it’s best for everyone to find out what’s in there for them. Don’t anticipate too much, don’t worry too much, just be. Remember to always keep an open mind and let the experience show you what you may not even know you need 😀
