At Sapan Inka, we believe participating in an Ayahuasca retreat is a powerful opportunity for profound energetic and spiritual cleansing and healing. An Ayahuasca experience can be immensely favorable for those embarking on a journey of transformation and spiritual development. Our unique model is a conscious synthesis of the millenary wisdom of Amazonian medicine and the principles of depth and transpersonal psychology. We are not a center for spiritual tourism or mere Ayahuasca experiences; we are a dedicated space for exploring the deep psyche, practicing ancestral Amazonian medicine, and supporting transformative processes.

We distinguish ourselves through our philosophy of minimal interference and the unwavering shamanic and spiritual support provided in our ceremonies. Our commitment to ethics and professionalism is paramount. We believe an Ayahuasca ceremony is an opening to the reality of the soul and a world of sacred images. For this reason, we practice minimal interference during your experience of expanded states of consciousness, allowing the healing intelligence of Ayahuasca and your own inner being to guide the process. This is not abandonment or a lack of warmth; it is a conscious act of respect and trust in your innate capacity to heal and in the divine power of the medicine itself.

The transformative power of Ayahuasca is fully realized through a structured integration process. At Sapan Inka, our psychotherapeutic integration is more than a simple conversation; it is a rigorous process designed to help you assimilate, process, and effectively integrate your experiences. We provide a space for you to understand the intricate symbolic language of your visions, converting profound insights into tangible and lasting change. This is how the spiritual revelations from the ceremonies are bridged with your daily life, ensuring the journey leads to genuine personal growth.

To navigate this journey, rigorous preparation is essential. An Ayahuasca experience can be incredibly challenging, and its potency demands thorough mental, emotional, and spiritual readiness. It is crucial for participants to understand that this is not a shortcut, but a deep and profound inner work that requires commitment and maturity.

Given the serious nature of our work, we are aware that our approach may not satisfy everyone’s expectations. Those who seek a more superficial, less confrontational experience or group activities may find other centers more suitable. Our model is designed for individuals committed to holistic healing and willing to embark on a serious psychospiritual path. This is why our groups are intentionally small, to ensure the personalized and ethical attention that is the cornerstone of our years of experience and dedication.

At Sapan Inka, our commitment is to support you on your journey, respecting the authenticity of your process and providing a safe and professional environment for a genuine transformation.

My experience with Erik and Nilda was truly profound and transformative. From the very beginning, I felt incredibly safe, welcomed, and cared for. Even though it was my first Ayahuasca experience, they created an environment that made everything feel calm, natural, and gradual, allowing me to fully trust the process.

I actually went into the experience without many expectations and without researching too much about the ritual itself. I intentionally wanted to know as little as possible so I would not condition my experience in any way. I simply felt called to do it because I am constantly searching for a deeper understanding of myself and my own inner world.

What touched me most was not only what happened during the ceremonies themselves, but how the experience continued unfolding in the months afterwards.

Erik and Nilda created a space that felt deeply safe, genuine, and meaningful. I am profoundly grateful for this journey and for the care, integrity, and presence they brought to it.
On a more practical level, everything was also beautifully taken care of. Nilda always made sure that the whole stay felt comfortable and welcoming. The accommodation was simple yet very comfortable, perfectly aligned with the peaceful and grounding atmosphere of the place, and the food was always nourishing and thoughtfully prepared.

For those who are seeking an experience of this kind and are looking for a safe, peaceful, and genuine environment, I can wholeheartedly recommend this place.

I just finished a 7-day Ayahuasca and San Pedro retreat at Sapan Inka, and I’m writing this because I’m so grateful to Erik and Nilda.

I chose Sapan Inka because I wanted something intimate—it’s a small center (max 6 people) run directly by the healers. My intention of retreat was on spiritual growth rather than healing deep trauma, and Erik is an expert in this area.

To be honest, the Ayahuasca journey was way tougher than I expected. I knew it wouldn’t be an easy process, but the reality really surprised me. I’m so thankful that Erik and Nilda were there to guide my soul and keep me safe through the intense journey. I learnt so much from the ceremony, which wasn’t exactly what I planned, but I’m so happy I did it.

My talks with Erik were really helpful. He is a wise man and helped me understand what I saw, giving me a clear path for integration and where I am going to.

A huge thank you to Erik, Nilda, and the guest shaman who did the Pachamama Despacho ceremony. I felt so much love from them, and I feel the same for them. I’m continuing my integration now and hope I can come back to Sapan Inka in the future.

It’s been about 7 months since my ayahuasca experience. I did 3 ayahuasca and 1 San Pedro ceremony and needless to say, all of which were deeply impactful and taught me unique things.
I think the experience is different for everyone, what Ayahuasca gives to you is dependent on what you bring to her and the attitude with which you approach this journey. One should know that these are deeply ancient plant medicines that have been used for generations by the indigenous cultures of this region. They have a rich history and it’s crucial to respect their culture and spiritual aspects prior to engaging with them.
One should also understand that this is not a resort, it’s a retreat. You come here to work on yourself in ways that you couldn’t in the modern world. The point is for you to disconnect from all the things that blur your ability to meaningfully introspect,
Erick and Nilda are very kind and gracious hosts, but above all else they are very experienced in their practice and I was at ease with the process because of how transparent they were with me and how easy it was connect with them. It really helps that they acknowledge both the spiritual aspects of healing, as well as the psychological mechanisms of the medication, and reinforce the ceremonies with 1:1 reflections the following day.
Although it was months ago, I continue to learn from my experiences and I genuinely believe I would not have had the same kind of therapeutic benefits with “traditional” Western medicine/therapy.

I am about a year out from my aya journey with Erik and Nilda, and I reflect back fondly. Similar to alot of people I was seeking an ability to ‘jump in the deepend’ after years of other therapies that only scratched the surface.
Aya is intentional, and serious healing, or at least a door–for you to walk through. My wife and I took that seriously with our preparation specifically reading the style of support the Shipibo styling offers. You must put your best intention towards the dieta, and reflection and resolve.
You will be cared for in this experience but not coddled. Autonomy is healing, sitting in the highs and lows of the medicine is important. I see many westerners write a review assuming for an utmost catered experience. That is not this.
It is all beautiful offerings though. The temple, the countryside, the comfort food by Nilda, warmth from their home and their dogs. They are helpful but not overly so as it’s your journey after all.
I’ve continued on this journey occasionally sitting with aya, and learning other therapies to integrate into a more intentional and balanced life. Thank you Erik. Thank you Nilda. Thank you to my small group, thank you Peru, thank you Cusco.. Thank you Icaros. Thank you Macchu Piccuu, Thank you Madre. Thank you Padre. Thank you grandmother ayahuasca.
