At Sapan Inka, we believe participating in an Ayahuasca retreat is a powerful opportunity for profound energetic and spiritual cleansing and healing. An Ayahuasca experience can be immensely favorable for those embarking on a journey of transformation and spiritual development. Our unique model is a conscious synthesis of the millenary wisdom of Amazonian medicine and the principles of depth and transpersonal psychology. We are not a center for spiritual tourism or mere Ayahuasca experiences; we are a dedicated space for exploring the deep psyche, practicing ancestral Amazonian medicine, and supporting transformative processes.

We distinguish ourselves through our philosophy of minimal interference and the unwavering shamanic and spiritual support provided in our ceremonies. Our commitment to ethics and professionalism is paramount. We believe an Ayahuasca ceremony is an opening to the reality of the soul and a world of sacred images. For this reason, we practice minimal interference during your experience of expanded states of consciousness, allowing the healing intelligence of Ayahuasca and your own inner being to guide the process. This is not abandonment or a lack of warmth; it is a conscious act of respect and trust in your innate capacity to heal and in the divine power of the medicine itself.

The transformative power of Ayahuasca is fully realized through a structured integration process. At Sapan Inka, our psychotherapeutic integration is more than a simple conversation; it is a rigorous process designed to help you assimilate, process, and effectively integrate your experiences. We provide a space for you to understand the intricate symbolic language of your visions, converting profound insights into tangible and lasting change. This is how the spiritual revelations from the ceremonies are bridged with your daily life, ensuring the journey leads to genuine personal growth.

To navigate this journey, rigorous preparation is essential. An Ayahuasca experience can be incredibly challenging, and its potency demands thorough mental, emotional, and spiritual readiness. It is crucial for participants to understand that this is not a shortcut, but a deep and profound inner work that requires commitment and maturity.

Given the serious nature of our work, we are aware that our approach may not satisfy everyone’s expectations. Those who seek a more superficial, less confrontational experience or group activities may find other centers more suitable. Our model is designed for individuals committed to holistic healing and willing to embark on a serious psychospiritual path. This is why our groups are intentionally small, to ensure the personalized and ethical attention that is the cornerstone of our years of experience and dedication.

At Sapan Inka, our commitment is to support you on your journey, respecting the authenticity of your process and providing a safe and professional environment for a genuine transformation.

It’s been about 7 months since my ayahuasca experience. I did 3 ayahuasca and 1 San Pedro ceremony and needless to say, all of which were deeply impactful and taught me unique things.
I think the experience is different for everyone, what Ayahuasca gives to you is dependent on what you bring to her and the attitude with which you approach this journey. One should know that these are deeply ancient plant medicines that have been used for generations by the indigenous cultures of this region. They have a rich history and it’s crucial to respect their culture and spiritual aspects prior to engaging with them.
One should also understand that this is not a resort, it’s a retreat. You come here to work on yourself in ways that you couldn’t in the modern world. The point is for you to disconnect from all the things that blur your ability to meaningfully introspect,
Erick and Nilda are very kind and gracious hosts, but above all else they are very experienced in their practice and I was at ease with the process because of how transparent they were with me and how easy it was connect with them. It really helps that they acknowledge both the spiritual aspects of healing, as well as the psychological mechanisms of the medication, and reinforce the ceremonies with 1:1 reflections the following day.
Although it was months ago, I continue to learn from my experiences and I genuinely believe I would not have had the same kind of therapeutic benefits with “traditional” Western medicine/therapy.

I am about a year out from my aya journey with Erik and Nilda, and I reflect back fondly. Similar to alot of people I was seeking an ability to ‘jump in the deepend’ after years of other therapies that only scratched the surface.
Aya is intentional, and serious healing, or at least a door–for you to walk through. My wife and I took that seriously with our preparation specifically reading the style of support the Shipibo styling offers. You must put your best intention towards the dieta, and reflection and resolve.
You will be cared for in this experience but not coddled. Autonomy is healing, sitting in the highs and lows of the medicine is important. I see many westerners write a review assuming for an utmost catered experience. That is not this.
It is all beautiful offerings though. The temple, the countryside, the comfort food by Nilda, warmth from their home and their dogs. They are helpful but not overly so as it’s your journey after all.
I’ve continued on this journey occasionally sitting with aya, and learning other therapies to integrate into a more intentional and balanced life. Thank you Erik. Thank you Nilda. Thank you to my small group, thank you Peru, thank you Cusco.. Thank you Icaros. Thank you Macchu Piccuu, Thank you Madre. Thank you Padre. Thank you grandmother ayahuasca.

I wholeheartedly recommend the Sapan Inka Ayahuasca Retreat Center. From my very first email exchanges, I was reassured by the professionalism, warmth, and clarity of Erik and Nilda. This was my first experience with Ayahuasca, and it turned out to be one of the most profound and transformative experiences of my life.
Throughout the ceremony, I felt deeply cared for, thanks to Erik’s genuine attention to each participant. His presence created a safe and supportive environment, allowing me to open fully to the Ayahuasca experience while always feeling secure and grounded.
What impressed me most is Erik’s rare ability to build a bridge between the Western scientific mindset and the wisdom of ancient shamanic traditions. This balance brought an added depth and trust to the process.
I sincerely hope to return to Sapan Inka and to Erik and Nilda soon, to continue this journey of healing and discovery.

Sapan Inka is a place for healing.
Honestly, from the first moment, I felt I was in a special place.
Erik and Nilda are responsible and experienced shamans who guided me, with care and respect, through two deep and life changing ceremonies. The process was intense, but I always felt higly cared an supported.
When I arrived, I had a long conversation with Erik to clarify my intention and guide the experience. There was also a follow-up process throughout the retreat.
The place is wonderful, surrounded by nature, with a unique energy. I went for walks around the area, and it was a very beautiful experience. Nilda cooked delicious food, and the cuisine was excellent to support the process.
The effects of the medicine are still working on me, and its something truly transformative. One of those experiences that change your life.
I highly recommend Sapan Inka if you are on a responsible and deep searching to heal.
I will always be grateful to Erik y Nilda, and to this sacred place to heal.. Thanks you so much…
