Nimea Kaya Healing Center

Pucallpa, Peru

At the Nimea Kaya Healing Center, we are dedicated to offering traditional Ayahuasca journeys, working alongside both male and female Shipibo healers. Our Shipibo healers carry decades of wisdom and knowledge through working with master teacher plants. Through our retreats, we aim to support our guests awaken to their fullest potential by healing their bodies, minds and spirits.  Our focus on health, nutrition and self-sustainability in our peaceful and eco-friendly environment lends to a deeper healing process where long lasting positive impacts are made in the lives of our guests. With over 16 years of experience leading Ayahuasca retreats, we have helped support thousands of guests from all over the world transform their lives.

Our Selva Spirit Association NGO focuses on raising the awareness in the preservation of shamanic traditions, reforestation projects as well as multiple health programs implemented in the surrounding communities.

Shamanic Retreats:

Our shamanic retreats are designed to accommodate each individual on their path of awakening and healing. We offer a series of three or four Ayahuasca ceremonies per retreat with a local Shipibo Shamans, also known as a Curandero or Maestro.  Our healers have been well established in the shamanic ayahuasca practice for several decades. Our medicine is brewed with only the ayahuasca vine and chacruna leaves. Our ceremonies are facilitated with the utmost integrity and responsibility. There are always four to six of our staff members in every ceremony helping our guests through their healing journeys with the sacred medicine. Drinking the ayahuasca medicine during ceremonies allows the participants to expand their consciousness to a multi-faceted universe. Ayahuasca takes the individual through a process of cleansing the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies. The individual journeys through a series of visions often receiving profound realizations that lead them to a place of healing, understanding and balance within themselves.

During the course of the retreat we offer facilitated group sharing and one on one counseling.  Our groups are no larger than 14 people so we may accommodate a more intimate and personal setting during ceremony.  Our ceremonial Maloca is very spacious, providing a comfortable environment for the profound experience. It is situated in the midst of beautiful native plants and trees where where natures orchestra graciously joins us in our sacred ceremonies.

We provide for our guests with herbal and floral baths with a unique blend of plants and flowers from the surrounding jungle after each ceremony. The plant baths help to wash away any negative energies stagnant in the body and help prepare the participant for a more profound healing with the plant medicine Ayahuasca. The invigorating and cleansing bath will help rejuvenate your spirit.

I can’t express the impact that coming to Nimea Kaya has had on my life. My wife and I came together. At that time, many things in my life were falling apart. It felt like a last resort. And it delivered in every way. This place not only changed my life but also my wife’s. She had the most transformative experience of her life!

As soon as we arrived, I felt the care and intention that goes into this place. The staff were so welcoming, caring, and attentive. The owners, Jill and Casey, have spent 17 years building a true oasis in the jungle, designed specifically to help you feel safe so you can open yourself to the medicine and heal from whatever it was you came to heal from. Over the course of 9 days and 4 medicine ceremonies, my life completely changed. After the first two ceremonies, I felt that my relationship with my wife had been completely transformed into the best it could be. I spent my life as a boy suppressing my emotions because that’s what I learned. But with the help of Ayahuasca and the safety I felt at Nimea Kaya, I was able to open up and feel the depths of my soul, my emotions, and release the pain I had been carrying for decades.

Then, at my third ceremony, I had a profound sense that it was going to be profound for me. I had suffered from chronic lower back pain for about 10 years. Piercing pain limited much of what I could do, but it also affected my confidence and contributed to a deep sense of brokenness. I was fit, active, did yoga, stretched every night, but nothing would relieve the pain. Then, at my third ceremony, I had a profound experience of meeting a part of myself that I had pushed aside and considered unloving. I leaned into loving that part of myself, and as soon as I accepted that part of me, in an instant, my back pain was gone. Healed. I also knew that I was healed forever. My life has changed for the better, and I can’t thank Nimea Kaya enough.

The staff is amazing. Everyone was so attentive and caring. They supported me and talked to me throughout my entire process. They supported me even after I left the retreat center as I reintegrated. I made lifelong friends at this place. The food was exceptional. They made delicious, freshly cooked meals every day. I would give this place 15 out of 5 stars. It was the best experience of my life.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!

This is my second time at Nimea Kaya.

First of all, if you want to know how much the facilitators care about us—I wanted to get medical tests done afterward (unrelated to ayahuasca), and the owner, Casey, took me and spent hours translating so that everything went well. Shows just how much they genuinely care about every single one of us!

I used to be really sick. When I was in my early twenties, I thought I would have to spend the rest of my life with my parents so they could take care of me. I still don’t know why. But after going to Nimea Kaya two years ago and doing Kambo (based on a retreat friend's rec), I was mostly able to heal my illness and get off an intense medication I had relied on just to get out of bed every day. A miracle. Not to mention all the trauma I was able to let go surrounding it.

This time, I was able to let go of so many limiting beliefs and remaining traumas I’ve dealt with over the last ten years. I’m looking forward to seeing what my life and my health will be like now that this retreat is over. I've never been so excited to live my life and know so many of the other guests feel the same.

I stayed in town the next day, and luckily, seven other attendees did as well, because I was SO not ready to say goodbye to everyone. We got close and are all still communicating in the WhatsApp group. Each one of us agreed we couldn’t imagine going anywhere else and how incredibly lucky we were to have chosen Nimea Kaya.

We talked about experiences we’ve heard from others who went to retreats in Costa Rica and other parts of Peru, and how their experiences didn’t come anywhere close to being as powerful or healing as what we experienced at NK.

Each of their retreats has a handful of returning attendees – that speaks volumes to how lifechanging it is.

That the way NK ceremonies are set up is more powerful and the way the shamans work with us here actually helps to heal you on a deeper level. That's where the real healing magic happens and a lot of the other retreats don't have it set up like that (for some there's like 80 people in one room wtf). Breaks my heart.

I know you’re probably reading reviews from a ton of other retreats – I've been in your exact spot – but if you genuinely want to heal and change your life, this is the place. But above all, trust your gut. You can reach out to the other founder, Jill, for a free consult convo and see for yourself just how at home you'll feel there too.

I recently had the honor of participating in a 9-day Ayahuasca retreat at Nimea Kaya Healing Center, and I am filled with gratitude for the profound and transformative experience it offered. This sacred space exceeded all my expectations in every possible way.

From the very beginning, it was clear that Nimea Kaya operates with the utmost respect for the ancient traditions of plant medicine. Each ceremony was conducted in a way that honored the deep wisdom and healing power of Ayahuasca. The reverence for the medicine created an atmosphere of trust and spiritual depth that allowed me to fully surrender to the process.

The shamans who led the ceremonies were nothing short of extraordinary. Their connection to the plant medicine, their songs (icaros), and their ability to hold space for deep healing were awe-inspiring. Their presence and guidance were instrumental in my journey, and I felt completely supported by their immense wisdom and energy.

A special thanks to Ben and Canelo, whose professionalism, compassion, and extensive knowledge made every participant feel safe and cared for. They were always present, not just during ceremonies but 24/7, offering guidance, reassurance, and emotional support whenever needed. Their dedication was a cornerstone of this retreat.

It was a true privilege to have Jill and Casey, the co-founders of Nimea Kaya, lead the ceremonies. Their deep commitment to this work, combined with their authentic, loving spirits, made the experience even more meaningful. They are truly beautiful human beings who embody the essence of healing and connection.

The accommodations at Nimea Kaya were outstanding, offering a perfect balance of comfort, safety, and privacy. The beautifully maintained center, with its lush gardens, inviting “casa grande,” and peaceful library, provided an ideal environment for introspection and integration. The complimentary laundry service, ready the same day, was an added bonus that made the stay even more comfortable.

The freshly cooked, high-quality meals served at the center were a highlight of the retreat. Each dish was prepared with love and intention, nourishing both body and soul. The attention to dietary restrictions and the use of local, wholesome ingredients demonstrated the center’s commitment to the well-being of its guests.

Nimea Kaya goes above and beyond in offering a holistic experience. Complimentary yoga and meditation classes helped me ground and center myself, enhancing the overall healing process. The free airport pick-up and drop-off made logistics effortless, and the affordable pricing ensured that this life-changing opportunity was accessible.

The communication throughout the entire process, from the initial inquiry to post-retreat follow-ups, was exceptional. Jill was always available to answer questions, provide guidance, and ensure I felt prepared for every step of the journey. Her attentiveness and care made a significant difference in my experience.

I am deeply grateful for my time at Nimea Kaya Healing Center. The combination of traditional wisdom, compassionate guidance, and exceptional facilities created an experience of profound healing and transformation. I would wholeheartedly recommend this retreat to anyone seeking a safe, authentic, and life-changing encounter with Ayahuasca. Thank you, Nimea Kaya, for the gift of this journey. I look forward to returning one day!

I visited Nimea Kaya end of October for seven days three ceremonies, I must say probably one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life not only are the facilities well looked after the food is fresh and delicious and each and everyone of the facilitators are caring, informative, fun and make your personal journey so much easier with opportunities to speak as a group or individually. I ended up staying for an additional two days. If you’re thinking of using Ayuasca for your personal journey I recommend Nimea Kaya, they have structure and schedule that runs seamless helping you through a special time in your life. Take the leap its worth it.

Life-altering transformation. The staff, accommodation, and location were incredible. Sitting in the dark, drinking an ancient plant medicine in the dark and trusting the process while being in the jungle – it’s a very vulnerable experience, but the staff and environment made it extremely safe and conducive for deep diving, exploration and healing. I have been in therapy for two years, and with the tools that I developed from that, the nine days felt like going warped speed a decade ahead. I have never felt this light.

I made some incredible friends in the nine days I was there, and loved hearing their experiences along the way. Some even extended their stays because of their positive experiences, and many are enthusiastic to return.

Seeing incredible nature was a huge plus! Monkeys were seen regularly, as were incredible birds and flora and insects. The huge area can be safely explored with well-established trails within the retreat.

The establishment has a deep connection with the local community and the staff were well-treated. I so deeply appreciated the connections with the maestros and maestras and learning about their backgrounds and culture.

The food, sound baths, the activities like yoga sessions, art therapy and integration sessions were all just great. I especially appreciated the gaps of time between each time — plenty of time to rest and journal, and for the introverts, plenty of time to recharge.

Life-altering. If you feel ready, this is the place to go. I hope to return one day when the timing is right.
