Nimea Kaya Healing Center

Pucallpa, Peru

At the Nimea Kaya Healing Center, we are dedicated to offering traditional Ayahuasca journeys, working alongside both male and female Shipibo healers. Our Shipibo healers carry decades of wisdom and knowledge through working with master teacher plants. Through our retreats, we aim to support our guests awaken to their fullest potential by healing their bodies, minds and spirits.  Our focus on health, nutrition and self-sustainability in our peaceful and eco-friendly environment lends to a deeper healing process where long lasting positive impacts are made in the lives of our guests. With over 16 years of experience leading Ayahuasca retreats, we have helped support thousands of guests from all over the world transform their lives.

Our Selva Spirit Association NGO focuses on raising the awareness in the preservation of shamanic traditions, reforestation projects as well as multiple health programs implemented in the surrounding communities.

Shamanic Retreats:

Our shamanic retreats are designed to accommodate each individual on their path of awakening and healing. We offer a series of three or four Ayahuasca ceremonies per retreat with a local Shipibo Shamans, also known as a Curandero or Maestro.  Our healers have been well established in the shamanic ayahuasca practice for several decades. Our medicine is brewed with only the ayahuasca vine and chacruna leaves. Our ceremonies are facilitated with the utmost integrity and responsibility. There are always four to six of our staff members in every ceremony helping our guests through their healing journeys with the sacred medicine. Drinking the ayahuasca medicine during ceremonies allows the participants to expand their consciousness to a multi-faceted universe. Ayahuasca takes the individual through a process of cleansing the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies. The individual journeys through a series of visions often receiving profound realizations that lead them to a place of healing, understanding and balance within themselves.

During the course of the retreat we offer facilitated group sharing and one on one counseling.  Our groups are no larger than 14 people so we may accommodate a more intimate and personal setting during ceremony.  Our ceremonial Maloca is very spacious, providing a comfortable environment for the profound experience. It is situated in the midst of beautiful native plants and trees where where natures orchestra graciously joins us in our sacred ceremonies.

We provide for our guests with herbal and floral baths with a unique blend of plants and flowers from the surrounding jungle after each ceremony. The plant baths help to wash away any negative energies stagnant in the body and help prepare the participant for a more profound healing with the plant medicine Ayahuasca. The invigorating and cleansing bath will help rejuvenate your spirit.

What can I see… If you are currently exploring Ayahuasca Retreats and anxious about the safety aspect (like I was), then look no further! The medicinal experience was amazing, but as there are many reviews already speaking to that, I’d like to put your Western mind at ease when it comes to safety and logistics.

    Things to note:
    – The number of facilitators/volunteers to guests was very high! During my retreat (I understand it wasn’t necessarily the norm ) there were 1.5 guests per facilitator.
    – The facilitators are extremely experienced. They are there to help you physically, but also emotionally and spiritually. After my first couple of “bad” Ceremonies almost every facilitator reached out to me privately to offer support. I was not expecting all the guidance we received between ceremonies.
-There is lots of good, healthy food
    – All of the transportation is taken care of for you – get yourself on their recommended flight, and they will get you to and from the retreat. you don’t need to worry about finding taxis, haggling over prices etc.
    – The Tambos (accomodations) are top notch. Traditional in design, they are absolutely beautiful.
-There are pre and post retreat video calls organized for you. A great way to ask questions you have and to put faces to your fellow guests.
    – The facilitators are very careful and thoughtful about Medicine doses. They will work with you to ensure that you are getting the experience you need, but without overdoing it.

A million thanks to the owners and facilitators of Nimea Kaya!

First of all I want to say that I feel so blessed to have had my experience at Nimea Kaya. The program they made in and around ceremony can be intense but also very nourishing. The yoga, meditation, sound bath, and integration circles were transformative in itself. The food is amazing, and I loved stuffing my face the day after ceremony. The rooms are a little rustic but it is exactly what I signed up for, a jungle experience (albeit a much safer version). The facilitators and volunteers were so supportive and warm that I felt like my life was in safe hands. There were moments in ceremony where I couldn’t handle the experience, but they just guided me like angels. At the end of the 9 days, the other participants become like family members and the shamans literally feel like your abuela/abuelo. I can confidently say that I received psychological and spiritual healing that I didn’t know was possible. Once again, so grateful for this experience, especially after my first ayahuasca retreat in Ecuador which left a bad taste in my mouth and psychologically discombobulated. Nimea Kaya has changed me for the better. Will definitely be visiting again in the future when the time is right.

My experience at Nimea Kaya was beautiful. After spending a few days doing some research to understand which retreat centre should I go to, I decided this was the place I resonated with the most. This was due to an intuitive harmony I felt between safety and confort on one side, but also to be surrounded by majestic nature where the Ayahuasca vine grows. I confirmed this as soon as I step on these grounds.
From a personal perspective, this experience was profoundly what I needed, to wake up from what it seemed to be a long dream dwelling in the unconscious. As an extension of the universe the plant has healed my vibration physically, emotionally and spiritually, together with offering many learnings and information that cannot be easily expressed in writing.
Typing this just over a year from my first ceremony and I am still feeling so grateful with the Maestros, the facilitators and native personnel at the centre who were always there to help me navigating through the unknown. I felt supported, loved and cared for in every aspect, during my stay at Nimea Kaya and also later, through the Post-Retreat integration.
I am thankful to have had the opportunity to experience it.
    Con amor,
    Gabriel 🙂

I love, love, love Nimea Kaya! Jill and her team are such beautiful souls for providing such an incredible place to experience Ayahuasca.

*Attention to detail, from the moment I was picked up from the airport to the moment I was dropped off, I felt the love and caring intention put into everything; every day was magical. I felt supported and encouraged while I did the inner dive.
*Beautiful balance of group activities and alone time to process.
*Meals are beyond delicious and there’s also plenty of tea and fruit to snack on.
*Rooms are comfy and having gone three times, I have always felt at home.
*I appreciate the respect Nimea Kaya has for the land, the spirit of the plants.
*The ceremonies themselves are powerful, and the facilitators are the perfect amount of supportive and also allowing you the space to move through the energies.
*The plant walk, the joy of making your own brew, the painting, the water tower talks, the Shipibo art fair, the connections you make with the other participants… that’s all added joyful moments to the experience that I get to keep in my heart forever.
*The support you are given after the retreat is lovely as well.
    Thank you Nimea Kaya!

It is hard to put into words how profound my experience at Nimea Kaya was. I have never felt more supported, seen, understood and free to be authentically me. It has simply changed the trajectory of my life in the most humbling way possible. The staff and volunteers were incredible, thoughtful and really in tune to what the guests at the center were experiencing and were present every step of the way. Truly and incredible place. A safe place to grow, heal, learn and expand. What a gift! Endless gratitude for this center and their beautiful team.
