With over 16 years of experience leading Ayahuasca retreats, we have helped support thousands of guests from all over the world transform their lives.

Our Selva Spirit Association NGO focuses on raising the awareness in the preservation of shamanic traditions, reforestation projects as well as multiple health programs implemented in the surrounding communities.

Shamanic Retreats:

Our shamanic retreats are designed to accommodate each individual on their path of awakening and healing. We offer a series of three or four Ayahuasca ceremonies per retreat with a local Shipibo Shamans, also known as a Curandero or Maestro.  Our healers have been well established in the shamanic ayahuasca practice for several decades. Our medicine is brewed with only the ayahuasca vine and chacruna leaves. Our ceremonies are facilitated with the utmost integrity and responsibility. There are always four to six of our staff members in every ceremony helping our guests through their healing journeys with the sacred medicine. Drinking the ayahuasca medicine during ceremonies allows the participants to expand their consciousness to a multi-faceted universe. Ayahuasca takes the individual through a process of cleansing the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies. The individual journeys through a series of visions often receiving profound realizations that lead them to a place of healing, understanding and balance within themselves.

During the course of the retreat we offer facilitated group sharing and one on one counseling.  Our groups are no larger than 14 people so we may accommodate a more intimate and personal setting during ceremony.  Our ceremonial Maloca is very spacious, providing a comfortable environment for the profound experience. It is situated in the midst of beautiful native plants and trees where where natures orchestra graciously joins us in our sacred ceremonies.

We provide for our guests with herbal and floral baths with a unique blend of plants and flowers from the surrounding jungle after each ceremony. The plant baths help to wash away any negative energies stagnant in the body and help prepare the participant for a more profound healing with the plant medicine Ayahuasca. The invigorating and cleansing bath will help rejuvenate your spirit.

Short story this is a 5 out of 5, 10 out of 10 Ayahuasca retreat center. If you’re absolutely convinced you want/need to do Ayahuasca in Peru this is hands down the place. You can stop reading now if that’s the case.

Simply put, Jill Levers absolutely gets what an Ayahuasca center is and should be. I’ve attended multiple Ayahuasca retreats over the years, most on Iquitos Peru and I’ve always felt shy of one retreat in the US that the majority of my Ayahuasca experiences could have gone better with more compassionate and attentive facilitation. For someone diagnosed with PTSD being left to deal with the challenges of Ayahuasca largely alone (as I was at other retreat centers), I’ve had to learn to navigate some extremely terrifying experiences and fortunately have come out on the other side as being largely healed. When I heard the calling for Ayahuasca again however, I was intent on finding a center where “tough love” is not the excuse for “lack of proper staff and facilitation”. Interestingly I found Nimea Kaya in 2015 (I’m writing this in 2022) before my first retreat and spoke with Jill via email and felt very sure that Nimea Kaya would be a place I would go to someday for an Ayahuasca retreat.

Fast forward to 2021 and I was greeted at the airport by two amazing facilitators where we were taken to Nimea Kaya’s gorgeous jungle surroundings. Cutting to the chase, there was a team of HIGHLY capable facilitators and seriously some of the most incredible people I’ve ever met in my life. To say the team at my November 2021 retreat were great would be a gross understatement. To me these fantastic people (and this includes Jill who was at this retreat) absolutely exemplify what Ayahuasca is about; compassion, healing, and integrity. The shamans were amazing and the Ayahuasca was plenty strong (great news for someone like me who can’t hold down a lot of liquid). The ceremonies were beautiful and conducted with the utmost respect and professionalism. Despite Ayahuasca being a liquid there was extreme care to make sure attendees were given a dose that worked, but not more than they could handle.

Without getting too far into this, I was extremely challenged and unprepared (my fault) for what I would experience despite multiple retreats prior. Nevertheless, I felt VERY accepted despite me basically breaking down multiple times, encouraged and above all, cared for. To say Jill Levers and her staff operate Nimea Kaya with a ton of compassion and integrity is the understatement of the century.

Oh and before I forget: THE FOOD. 12/10. Not kidding. I ate mostly vegan for the week (not a vegan) and it felt RIGHT. I was never hungry and the chefs are insanely talented. One of them even helped me cut a fresh coconut as she saw me likely losing a finger when I attempted to do that on my own (lol)!

Summarized, this review is not about determining if Ayahuasca is right for you. I have no intention of providing my opinion about Ayahuasca for someone. However, if you are absolutely certain you want to do Ayahuasca in the Peruvian amazon, this is the place. Full stop.

I absolutely loved my experience in Nimea Kaya. We were well taken care for and facilitators were amazing. Food was great and I felt very safe there – both during and outside of ceremonies. It’s simply a great place to be in and I hope to be back again one day.

    – August 2019
After arriving a couple of Days beforhand in Pucallpa and living the Jungle vibe. I went to Nimea Kaya for a 9 Day Retreat and I have to say, this was one of the most magical times in my life. Nimea Kaya truely is a magical Place.
The Facilitators create a wonderful setting for inner healing, spirtual development during the Ceremonies and afterwards in the Integration Circle. Everyday you get surprised by a new vegan Meal, which will give you strength thrue the whole day and energize you after a whole night of Visions and Purging.
The Ceremonies it selfe, were really well organized and structured. The Ayahuasca which you will drink, is probably one of the most potent Brew’s in Peru, and will definitly make this experience even more amazing. And since you will be guided by 2 Shamans in each Ceremony, the singing and healing will be done in unique ways, each time depending on your Curanderos.
Over 9 Days at Nimea Kaya, all of the Participants started to grow a bond with each other and started to act like a big family. Most of the social Boundries desolved and we were able to share our deepest emotions with each other. All thanks to the great Team and Facilitators. This place truely attracts people with a kind heart.

10/10 Would recommend to anyone else. Just prepare yourselfe well and learn the sacred knowledge.

My time at Nimea Kaya played a crucial role in the pivotal stage of my life. My love and appreciation for the retreat and the work that goes on there is too big to be expressed by words in its full entirety. The unconditional love and holding that I felt there does not compare to any other retreat I have experienced. This place and it volunteers are one of a kind and I cannot recommend it enough. As a spiritual worker myself I have a healthy amount of skepticism when embarking on a spiritual journey and am very cautious with what and who I allow into my energy field especially whilst being in a vulnerable state. What I received at this retreat moves beyond the medicine, the lessons and love that I received has been firmly imprinted into my being and has helped me continue this expansive and evolving journey of self love, appreciation and unfoldment.

    Nimea Kaya December 2019 retreat

Of course I will say that Nimea Kaya ,the staff the ceremonies and the shamans were more than five stars can reflect. There is much much more to this sacred place. Safety is everyone’s concern, especially if it’s your first time. Quickly you will feel at ease when you arrive. The warm greeting , friendly smile the gentle support and understanding.
The miracle dawns on you at your own pace. The feeling of safety grows into the knowledge that I am safe. Not just at Nimea Kaya or the wonderful trip to the village, but where ever you are. The wisdom that is so evident in Jill and Casey and the staff spills over into the life all around you. They teach you without saying a word.
If I were to give any advice to you it would be to follow there instructions before and after the retreat. Approach the retreat with respect and give yourself fully. Very simply open your mind and mother Ayahuasca will open your heart and show you the way home.
