At Sapan Inka, we believe participating in an Ayahuasca retreat is a powerful opportunity for profound energetic and spiritual cleansing and healing. An Ayahuasca experience can be immensely favorable for those embarking on a journey of transformation and spiritual development. Our unique model is a conscious synthesis of the millenary wisdom of Amazonian medicine and the principles of depth and transpersonal psychology. We are not a center for spiritual tourism or mere Ayahuasca experiences; we are a dedicated space for exploring the deep psyche, practicing ancestral Amazonian medicine, and supporting transformative processes.

We distinguish ourselves through our philosophy of minimal interference and the unwavering shamanic and spiritual support provided in our ceremonies. Our commitment to ethics and professionalism is paramount. We believe an Ayahuasca ceremony is an opening to the reality of the soul and a world of sacred images. For this reason, we practice minimal interference during your experience of expanded states of consciousness, allowing the healing intelligence of Ayahuasca and your own inner being to guide the process. This is not abandonment or a lack of warmth; it is a conscious act of respect and trust in your innate capacity to heal and in the divine power of the medicine itself.

The transformative power of Ayahuasca is fully realized through a structured integration process. At Sapan Inka, our psychotherapeutic integration is more than a simple conversation; it is a rigorous process designed to help you assimilate, process, and effectively integrate your experiences. We provide a space for you to understand the intricate symbolic language of your visions, converting profound insights into tangible and lasting change. This is how the spiritual revelations from the ceremonies are bridged with your daily life, ensuring the journey leads to genuine personal growth.

To navigate this journey, rigorous preparation is essential. An Ayahuasca experience can be incredibly challenging, and its potency demands thorough mental, emotional, and spiritual readiness. It is crucial for participants to understand that this is not a shortcut, but a deep and profound inner work that requires commitment and maturity.

Given the serious nature of our work, we are aware that our approach may not satisfy everyone’s expectations. Those who seek a more superficial, less confrontational experience or group activities may find other centers more suitable. Our model is designed for individuals committed to holistic healing and willing to embark on a serious psychospiritual path. This is why our groups are intentionally small, to ensure the personalized and ethical attention that is the cornerstone of our years of experience and dedication.

At Sapan Inka, our commitment is to support you on your journey, respecting the authenticity of your process and providing a safe and professional environment for a genuine transformation.

If you wish to explore the details of our retreats or simply prefer a more personal connection before beginning your journey, we invite you to schedule a 15-minute video call with us.

Wow. All I can say is wow.

Everything at the sapa inka retreat was top notch. Erik is an incredible shaman and his wife Nilda is an incredible woman in her own right with a feminine erergy that really helped balance the center. They work as a team to provide an excellent experience for every one there. The house and amenities are very nice (hot showers and comfortable beds) and it is located in a beautiful area in the sacred valley of Peru where there’s a beautiful river maybe like 100 meters from the retreat center. The food Nilda provides is healthy and delicious.

During the 3 aya ceremonies I did I had a tough time of it on my first two ceremonies and I am very happy I came here because of the small groups I was able to get individual attention. During my second ceremony I was tossing and turning and making noises kinda uncontrollably, and after letting me battle it for some time which I appreciate, Erik was able to come over me, say a prayer and put some kind of liquid on top of me which instantly calmed me down. It was incredible. It’s like he knew exactly what I needed when I needed it.

I am 2 weeks back from my aya retreat at Sapa Inka and I was just at a party and I had the most incredible time. A month ago at the same kind of party I would not know what to say to keep conversations going and it was very difficult for me be engaging, but now after Aya I feel like my brain is so much more clear and at this party this weekend I was so much more engaging, so much funnier and I was maintaining eye contact like I never have before.

It’s really incredible and I really have to think that it was Aya that helped clear my brain. It also gave me tangible steps that I need to do in order to live a better, happier life which includes nurturing my relationships better with people, maybe getting rid of my smart phone and either getting a dumb phone or something similar and creating more.

Creating more art, creating more music and potentially creating children. I had been very anti kids before but now I see it as something that I want.

My third ceremony was absolutely incredible and unbelievably beautiful. I am so glad that Aya called me and I finally answered that call.

There are also two dogs and a cat at the center and they are lovely to interact with.

I really could not recommend the center more. Thank you Erik and Nilda and a special thank you to mother Aya for helping me so much in such a short time. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

I was extremely nervous to take part in my first Ayahuasca ceremony as a solo female traveler. I did a lot of research prior to choosing the right place for me and I am so grateful that I chose Sapan Inka. Nilda and Erik truly are the definition of pure love and both are highly spiritual people, there is no denying that. During my second ceremony, I became extremely overwhelmed with the amount of energy that I was feeling. Erik came near me to help me deal with the energy and helped me cleanse without touching me, what he did after he absorbed my energy was a true testimony of his spiritual abilities. I experienced first hand the connection, power and knowledge he has about the medicine. I really felt so safe under his guidance and care. The day after each ceremony, Erik helped us understand and process the meaning of each vision and feeling. This is such a crucial part in my opinion because it is so easy to become confused trying to make sense of it all on your own.

I will forever carry my dear Nilda in my heart. She was so kind and caring with all of us <3.. She fed us every day and made yummy vegetarian food to keep us nourished. She worked so hard to make sure we were comfortable but just her presence alone, was such a gift. I will forever be grateful for Erik and Nilda, they truly did become like a part of my family, it was definitely very hard to say goodbye at the end. 🙁

The entire experience exceeded my expectations and it was life changing. I returned a much happier person and gained a lot of clarity about the things I wanted to change in my life. Not to mention all the great friends I made for life during this trip :). I will forever be grateful and I cannot wait to do it again next year.

I had an absolutely wonderful and transformative experience on my 5 day retreat. I was looking for a more “therapy” oriented personal journey experience that would complement the work I’ve been doing in my own therapy and personal growth over the last many years. Journeying to Peru for an Ayahuasca retreat was a very intentional step for me, I wanted to be at a center that focused on personal development and not just “experience” oriented services that might appeal to folks wanting to try Ayahuasca for the novelty (aka “drug tourism”, which some centers cater to).

Everything about this center was perfect for me. It is run by highly ethical owners who are genuine in their dedication to facilitating and guiding people with these medicines, to have profoundly meaningful personal experiences. The facility is clean and comfortable and food very yummy, yet it is spartan and not luxurious or fussy—I think this is fairly reflected in their very reasonable prices—you are paying for the medicine ceremonies and counseling and integration work, not for a fancy hotel that caters to overseas tourists. The ceremonies were beautiful and expertly guided and supported by the very knowledgeable and empathetic staff.

The ceremonies were lovely. Max 6 folks, our group was an interesting intersection of different cultures and ages, and we all had a profound and positive experience individually and together as a group. As others have noted—the ceremonies included a mix of guest presenters including musicians and indigenous healers, i think these vary by session and time of year. My own experience was profoundly meaningful, beautiful, and I know i will be integrating further in the weeks to come.

I chose Sapan Inka to be the place for me to experience Ayahuasca for the first time because I am wary of places that host 20 – 30 + participants. I did not feel something like that would be appropriate for my first experience. Sapan Inka’s maximum amount of people they host is 6 or 7. I spoke with Erik, the main guide and organizer, beforehand via Zoom. He gained my trust and was very responsive. Also, from the price and all the fantastic reviews, I was convinced that this was a genuine place of healing that was not motivated by profit or commercial success.

One great way to know if you’ll click with a center might be to take a look with their negative reviews, and see how they handled them. Were they responsive? Did they deal with the situation in a reasonable and fair way?

I did the seven-day retreat here, and I’m so glad my assumptions were correct. I’ve only been back home to normal life for a week now, but the change in my life has been palpable.

By some stroke of fate, I was the only attendee when I arrived during one of the busiest seasons. But no expenses or services were spared for the whole duration of my stay. They were happy to take me in, treat me like family, and show me all this medicine had to offer. I drank with a Shibipo priest from the jungle, took part in a traditional blessing from an Andean priest, and experienced perhaps one of the most unique and inspiring musical performances from their Healing Sound Session on San Pedro Day.

The schedule was all planned out and well organized. The food was modest but delicious and exactly what was needed. After each ceremony, Erik provided invaluable psychological and scientific insight into how to interpret my experiences, and he outlined a path on how to continue my development after the retreat ended through local resources in my hometown, literature, and lifestyle changes.

Now I am back to my normal life for several weeks and still buzzing with high vibrations, although I can feel it waning slowly. However, my mind, body, and spirit feel clean, and my energy and lifestyle have changed. I lost about 10 lbs, and I can feel this renewed energy reverberating to those around me in real tangible ways and results. I am so grateful for the experience and glad I did it at Sapan Inka.
