Family-Led Shipibo Healing Center | Ayahuasca, Plant Diets & Personalized Care in the Amazon

Welcome to Marosa Healing Center

Marosa Healing Center is a family-led, Shipibo-run plant medicine retreat for those seeking deep healing, personal transformation, and a genuine connection to traditional Amazonian medicine. Whether you’re navigating chronic illness, emotional challenges, or a call toward spiritual alignment, we offer a grounded, supportive environment to do that work safely and intentionally.

Our retreat is designed for people who want more than a surface-level experience. Here, you’re not just attending ceremonies—you’re stepping into a living tradition. Guests are welcomed into a small, heart-centered community where healing unfolds through ayahuasca ceremonies, plant diets, and daily connection with the jungle.

We intentionally keep our groups small (maximum 14 guests) so each person receives real attention, care, and space for integration. Accommodations are simple, private, and comfortable—created to support rest, reflection, and deep internal work.

Rather than focusing on luxury amenities, we prioritize the quality of care. Our team includes highly experienced Shipibo healers with decades of practice, guiding each process with precision, integrity, and compassion.

This may not be the right place if you’re seeking a luxury retreat or a casual experience. But if you feel called to work deeply with authentic Shipibo medicine—especially through traditional plant dieting—you’ll find a meaningful and supportive home here.

Retreats begin every Sunday and Wednesday, with flexible scheduling based on your intentions. Whether you’re joining for a shorter stay or committing to longer, immersive work, we’re here to meet you where you are.

About Our Lead Healer

Marosa Healing Center is led by Maestra Angela Sanchez Rios, a highly respected Shipibo healer with over 25 years of experience working with ayahuasca and Amazonian plant medicine.

Known for her warmth, presence, and deep level of care, Maestra Angela works closely with each guest, tending not only to the ceremonial space but to the full healing process. Her approach includes a range of traditional practices such as plant vapor baths, personalized plant remedies, and the preparation and guidance of master plant diets.

Her work is rooted in both strength and compassion—holding each person with the same level of attention and care she would offer her own family.

While researching for an Aya center for the first time in 2022, I asked on a Facebook page for recommendations, and someone said something like, “It is already done,” What they meant was, although I didn’t know it yet, I would go where I meant to go. It couldn’t be more true… I somehow ended up at Marosa while it was not even on my list of selected retreats. And how blessed I was to end up there.

My first Ayahuasca experience was in Marosa in September 2022, and I went back again in Feb 2023.

I have been struggling with severe anxiety and depression for a very long time,
There are no words to express my gratitude to these amazing people and what they did for me. There is no comparison to how much work, care, and love they put into bringing me back to life.
My gratitude to Maestro Humberto and Maestra Angela will be eternal. They (and Tony and Jordan) went above and beyond what you can expect, even from your closest friends and family. They are giants who are the pillars of well-being in this world. There is no way of explaining their infinite wisdom and love.

After decades of living like a zombie, I started to feel inner joy and happiness after my first retreat, and there is no way I can explain the second one. Seriously… there is no way!

It is impossible to leave a comment without mentioning Jordan; Someone should start a petition to add his photo to Wikipedia as the definition of the word “Patience.” He is love <3

And Tony the pillar that keeps this center going with all his hard work and love.

And my gratitude to each and every one of the staff members. I have never seen so much greatness and humility combined in one place.

As I said, there are no words to express the experience and my love and gratitude.

This retreat is not a shiny, luxurious place. It is basic, simple, and humble. You have all you need without all the show and fuss you see in some other places. Here Shamans are not walking around in shiny, showy outfits. You are not pushed from one Westernized program to the other. Here, things are not done for advertisement; they are done the way they should be done, natural, humble, organic, and true to the plant spirit. The Shaman's intuition on dieta is unbelievable. There is no doubt that they are connected to a higher wisdom.

When I ask people for their feedback on a place, my question always is "Would you send someone you love, your child, your sibling, to that place?", and if someone asks me that question, my answer is "ABSOLUTELY".
