Our mission is to provide a safe, honest and sincere space for people of all walks of life to come and heal. We believe in the combined power of plant medicine, Umbanda, and emotional vulnerability. These key elements are the fertile soil for beautiful transformation to occur in our lives!

Maharani Medicine first opened its doors in 2018– since then, we have served at over 140 retreats. We are proud to be a culturally diverse hub for seekers of all kinds. We are honored to be of service to anyone with a desire to grow, learn and heal regardless of background, age or creed. Working closely with our teachers in Hawaii and Brazil we provide a space of tradition but also flexibility to suit the needs of every person and group that we serve. We humbly walk this path as students of life, seekers of change, and owners of our actions.

Here are some things that set us apart from other groups:

Our groups are ALWAYS intimate & small. We will never serve a group larger than ten people. This fosters a sense of community between participants & staff, creating a safe, familial atmosphere.
We keep a supportive staff-to-participant ratio so we can all feel fully supported in this intense journey. We strive to have 3-4 facilitators on board in addition to our Medicine Leaders. Our team members are humble volunteers with ample personal experience with plant medicine. Each facilitator brings their own unique abilities to retreats.
Our medicine is brewed with love, prayer, tradition and integrity, sourcing high quality materials from sustainable sources from Central America. All of our medicines are sent from our teachers in Brazil and Hawaii.
The most important part of any medicine experience is Integration. Integration means applying the lessons learned during ceremony to everyday life. Integration is what separates recreational use of medicines from ceremonial & intentional use! It is very important we honor ourselves and our medicines in this way. We offer multiple integration circles, one on one sessions during the weekend and also provide supportive resources for our participants when they go home.
Our Guides have been taught how to activate and amplify the Medicine through presence and music. Many Plant Medicine traditions suggest that music is the vessel which carries the ceremonial energy. The music harmonizes with the medicine and serves as a “Lighthouse” that helps each participant navigate their internal shadows & light alike, and to call upon our allies both in nature and in spirit to assist us in our development. The music serves as a compass to bring us back our hearts. Whether it be traditional pontos, the call of the flute or powerful icaros (medicine songs), the music, prayer, and spirits will be an ally to those who are present with their transformation.
We are officially non-profit & church. Spirituality is very important to us, but we will never be dogmatic in our beliefs. While our ceremonies are spiritually based, they are very universalist as well. Folks with secular beliefs will not have issues connecting to the ceremony experience.
It can feel extremely overwhelming to find the right practitioner, modality or healing space when we live in such a fast-paced world. We are happy to provide a simple, organic and humble space where you can just be yourself. We believe that everyone is a student in this space— we are all apart of the same universal chain of interconnectedness! Our Retreats are for you if…

You are looking for a retreat that is not overwhelming in size (2-10 participants)
You are seeking a supportive community to connect with in the long-term— Whether it be for integration, friendship, spirituality or medicinal purposes!
You are unable to travel to South America or commit to a longer term retreat.
You feel a profound urge to become a better human, work on trauma, process challenging emotions, foster a deeper connection with Nature or expand your relationship with Spirit/Source/The Universe.

We are a “mobile ministry”. This means that we split our time between Upstate New York and the high desert of Arizona. We feel the call to be in service to both sides of this country. We also hope to someday soon travel to other states and offer our retreats in more locations.

For our New York offerings, we have a beautiful property in the woods that we hold our retreats in. We are blessed with 60 acres of forest land, with hiking trails, waterfalls and a large pond. It is completely remote, and a perfect opportunity to give yourself to solitude. Because we host small retreats, we are able to offer a tenderness and care that births an intimacy of relationship. The better we know you the more we can curate the experience to your needs and ultimately the more you will get out of the experience.

Our vision is to become compassionate, pure, healthy, and unconditionally loving people. Through prayer, meditation and the foundational support of our ancestors and their medicines, we humbly walk this path.

In a world shrouded by illusion, our Medicine bursts through the shadows as a shining light. We call upon the guidance of our sacred plant teachers to shed hardened layers around our heart built by the suffering we have endured.

Through dance and song, we shatter resistance keeping us from a righteous and all pervading Spiritual Relationship with life. Our ancient Amazonian Medicine combined with communal celebration yields profound healing for our selves and the entire planet.

We strongly believe in the Great Spirit that dwells within all living beings. This Spirit is alive, deeply caring and calling us home to the Present Moment. We embrace all religions and creeds. All roads lead to the same One, loving and ever-present Being.

Our Mission is to provide a sacred container, as well as education and support for those who are called to Plant Medicine. Ceremony is a state of mind that can embraced every single moment of our lives. We seek to help others cultivate this way of being through integrating spiritual experience.

We also believe that human connection is a powerful gateway to the soul. Maharani Medicine offers a community space for all people to share and grow.

I sat at this retreat in 2 different ceremonies (both 2 nights each) back in 2020, and the lessons learned by both the medicine and medicine carrier have stayed embedded deeply into my spirit and everyday life. Ayahuasca took me deep into my childhood, and into my teenage years where I learned that who I was as a teenager was a direct result of the little girl aging between 5-9. Throughout my journeys I was faced with deeper questions, and philosophical resolutions to my ‘problems’ that I’ve learned were only problems to my mind and not my soul. The medicine took my ego apart piece by piece, and helped me to remember my souls mission here on this beautiful earth I chose to live in. While I was deep into my journey, it was as though Eliana could feel me and anyone else who needed a bit of help to assist us. She was undoubtedly connected to us all spiritually; and by feeling the overall energy of the room she was able to pick songs to sing and instruments to play that were exactly what we needed to hear as a collective group of energy. She would call in anyone who would like to be served Rapé at all the perfect times (in my opinion) The purging happened anytime it was needed, and after each purge I felt an enormous spiritual shift, and as follows a shift in my consciousness. The body my spirit resides in is Mohawk, Narragansett, and Puerto Rican. Mother Aya took me to lessons from my ancestors, the resilience they had grew strong within me. I have grown so grateful for having been introduced to Eliana, because through her life mission to heal others, she heals many by example alone. We are human, and we feel human emotions naturally; ayahuasca is not a “fix every problem in your life” journey by any means. Eliana mentioned many times “you must meet her halfway” The spirit of the medicine is commonly called “Mother Aya” because she simply shows you the path to peace, and is stern about where you are lacking it, as she presents it through memories and feelings you’ve had of those memories. My mind suffered tremendously with severe PTSD that was completely gone after my first night. I have since been able to hear an ambulance without returning back to my 19 year old, traumatized, and lost self. I felt overall that I wanted to make my creator more proud of me. I knew that healing myself will help to heal others, as we are All Connected.
Almost 4 years later, I still strive to be the best version of myself even on my “bad” days. The teachings of Eliana and this precious precious medicine she dedicates her life to, Ayahuasca; will always be in my mind body and soul. And for this, I am eternally grateful. If you’re feeling called to sit, Eliana is Your Medicine Woman.

I am so grateful to have been part of such a wonderful ceremony with so many brave and inspiring individuals. Maharani Medicine Circles was undoubtedly the most beautiful experience of my life. If you are interested in the medicine, please do yourself a favor and visit. Eliana, Austin and her team are angels. I loved every minute of it.

I booked with maharani and put all my trust in them for my first ceremony experience ever, I was not let down. They were amazing, supportive, loving and made me feel safe. The small group was exactly what I needed to heal. I walked through their door sad and confused, but left a changed person. Absolutely fantastic people and the lighthouse is a truly magical place!!

I’ll make this quick for someone on the fence.

I had a great experience here. The facilitators are great. The ceremony is respectful of the medicine and you. The music harmonizes everything. Don’t be fooled by pressure marketing that tells you that only the gold-plated retreats in distant lands are “authentic” or “safe”, you can read other reviews to see, some of them are neither. The medicine(s) here are effective and you will not feel like your presence is just an afterthought, going through the motions of an experience mill.

There really are no words for the experience and the community at Maharani Medicine Circles. I want to start by saying that I have done the luxurious retreats in Costa Rica with all the amenities you could imagine. But what the medicine is truly about is the love, community, and the safety of pure intentions by our teachers. It is so clear that Eliana and her team don’t do this work for money (which is sadly very rare). They do this work because they’ve been deeply called and have been granted the gifts of service. The team curated the most beautiful healing space I could ever imagine, not to mention the way the medicine is channeled through them with music is pure magic. This team is so strong, they hold it down while letting the participants fully express themselves in their processes. They are so powerful yet equally, if not more, humble. These teachers are also students. Finding the right space is the most important part when sitting with the medicine and I finally have found my safe space on this Earth in this community. I hope I can help eliminate someone else from spending a lot of money and time going to an ayahuasca factory in South America. This is the type of space that medicine shines the brightest in, because it is so deeply pure, real, and authentic. Wherever you are in your journey, you will be granted the love and the mirror to dive deep into yourself. I hope this review leads another soul to experience the gift of transformation that I have received at Maharani Medicine Circles.
