The Kurikindi Kawsay centre, based in the Ecuadorian Amazon Rainforest, is the vision and mission of Kurkindi, an original elder of the Kichwa people. Kurikindi has spent many years walking a path of service to humanity and to the Divine which has led him to share his experience and teachings with the world. A life that began deep within the amazon rainforest, Kurikindi’s path has seen him travel far and wide, inspiring and opening the hearts of many as he honours his mission to the divine, planting seeds of light into the heart of humanity.
Kurikindi Kawsay retreats are a unique experience which aim to bring a complete transformation by creating the space to go deep into your heart and let go of what no longer serves you. We believe that the cleansing ceremonies are a very important part of your mental, physical and energetic growth. We strongly focus on your understanding and development of your light so that you can leave with an enhanced vision of how to live your life in a good way. Participants will learn the importance of walking cleanly, with honour and humility, bringing about balance in mind, body and spirit and balance in your masculine and feminine energies.
The centre offers a focal point of light, where people of all nations are welcomed to participate in the process of reconnecting to their true essence, to mother earth and to the divine. A space which brings global elders together, creating a new platform of universal and divine wisdom, all in service to the planet and the transformation of our existence.
The meaning of Kawsay, a keystone in the foundation of the centre, is ‘the essence and harmonious balance of life’. Achieving Kawsay requires the cultivation of the seeds of light placed in each and every one of us to restore our connection with all living beings, thus creating space for a new beginning.
KURIKINDI
Kurkindi, the Golden Hummingbird, was born in the rainforest of Ecuador, into a long lineage of shamans, dating back thousands of years and started his shamanic training at an early age. Having been born to parents, both of whom were shamans, Kurikindi was treated differently from the outset; it was recognised that he too was born with the ability to be a shaman. Born with a balance of divine masculine and feminine energies, he was able to synchronise and develop his essence clearly and his connection to the divine came naturally. From there he developed his wisdom and understanding of the Divine and the universe, Pachamama (Mother Earth) and many plant medicines.
Known globally as a respected elder, Kurikindi is a prominent figure within the Mother Earth Delegation of the United Original Nations. Within this role he shares his visions, knowledge and wisdom which he radiates from his heart, to support the unity of people from all nations and to bring good life and balance to the world. With a lifelong dedication and commitment to his path and to humanity, he brings a pure and ancient wisdom, with the foundation of his work rooted in love, compassion and forgiveness.

June 12, 2025 at 6:52 pmHere are the results of my 8 days at the Kurikindi Kawsay Centre: my soul was violently displaced from my body (3 different energy workers told me this, and one was finally able to help); a chaotic, erratic vortex was placed in my lower back; energetic parasites placed in my womb area.
I see other positive reviews here, but I believe the results I experienced speak for themselves. The people at Kurikindi Kawsay are powerful, and will use their power as they see fit. If they decide that doing harm is justified, they will do harm. So, why risk it? I recommend seeking an ayahuasca experience elsewhere.

July 8, 2024 at 1:56 pmI would often say that as much as I loved the rainforest, I was a mountain girl at heart. I was thrilled to discover that Kurikindi Kawsay Centre offers both! The centre is located in the pristine Amazon rainforest on a mountainside. From the balcony of the communal space and eating area, you look down upon a lush green rainforest valley cradled by snow-capped mountains on the other side. It’s an awe-inspiring natural landscape. There is a natural waterfall and beautiful pools abundant with fish, which are responsibly caught for food, along with chickens, laying fresh eggs and gardens growing food for retreaters to enjoy. This space is evolving with areas for relaxation and quiet contemplation to integrate between ceremonies. It felt good to go for walks between ceremonies to take in the rainforest ambience and explore the land’s sacred stones, bubbling brooks, and abundant nature.
I stayed in a spacious cabaña with another retreater and we were so well looked after by Kurikindi, his sister, Sisa and the staff. We ate and slept well, sleeping under fresh cotton sheets, and a good mosquito net. The cabaña’s shower washroom has running water from the local spring; honestly, my hair and skin felt wonderful! The cabañas, complete with hammocks, were comfortable and secure. Cesa and the team are attentive and happy to help with anything; for example, I needed somewhere to hang my jacket and this was fashioned from the surrounding nature and mounted on the wall in no time; regular laundry runs were also no trouble. Kurikindi and his staff paid attention to every detail of my stay, ensuring my comfort, safety and transformation were as well-held as possible. I loved how we formed a family-like community over the days of the retreat, sitting together in ceremonies with other retreaters, the staff, Kurikindi and Sisa. This grounded a sense of togetherness that I appreciated.
If you are feeling into coming here, my advice would be to follow your heart and ignore the mind chat; the heart will not lie. I can assure you that you will be in safe hands. The rainforest land, the space, the mountains, Kurikindi, Sisa and the staff all give 100% to ensuring that you receive all that you need for your healing and transformation. I trust Kurikindi and Sisa with my life and I can vouch for their humility, authenticity and compassion. Working with the medicines and Kurikindi is the best thing I have ever done and it has been life-changing. I have broken habits, healed traumas and learned so much with a growing faith and trust in love and goodness. There is something that happens when you connect here that carries you through each ceremony. Kurikindi, Sisa and the team have your back, and this was a big part of my ability to relax into and trust the process, and it is a process. ‘The work’ required my heart and commitment, continuing post-retreat and between ceremonies in a truly self-empowering way. The ceremonies and wisdom sharings from Kurikindi and Sisa have helped me to remember how to travel life well, with love, humility, compassion, patience, peace and acceptance. This is an ongoing learning process, which I cherish. I will be forever grateful to Kurikindi Kawsay Centre, Kurikindi, Sisa, and the team for sharing their wisdom, presence and space, and I will return. From my heart, thank you!

May 31, 2024 at 1:17 pmI visited kawsay center last year, near Pujo. Since then it has been a continuous personal growth with the teachings, healings, and cleanses i have received there.
I wasn’t new to the plant medecine and shamanic world when I arrived, yet it has required a new level of level of openness, understanding and learning. Working In a very traditional ways , a lot of the uses of the plants and their teachings as remained undeiluted and very well preserved through the centuries. This felt very unique.
This was very much present each healing and ceremony I have received, feeling more and more of my clarity and health coming back during my time there.
Staying at the center with kurikindi it has been more then just personal healing.
I felt I have received invaluable lessons on how to be a better person, how to master mind body and spirit and navigate my own life with more strength and Clarity.
The time there is crafted in a flow of collective ceremonies and also personal 121 guidance.
The center has the most spectacular view where is possible to admire the vastity of he Jungle from a top hill. There is always time to just sit and listen to the sounds of the forest! which was one of my favourite activities beside sleeping on the hamac 😀
I remember my time there as deeply treasurable in terms of healing and learning, and very peaceful.
The food is very nice, and fresh juice is never missing from the table 😉
The sleeping accommodation was shared, but the rooms were so spacious!! And felt nice to have companionship.
Rooms had their own showers and toilets. For those who have previously been to the jungle will know it s a nice treat and luxury 😉 especially night time!
Kurikindi and his sister Sisa works with integrity and pure love, and a good laughter is always present at any time.
Personally I would raccomand this center. I felt incredibly safe, looked after and like people are doing this for the right reasons.

July 30, 2023 at 3:45 amMy experience sitting with Kurikindi has been a humbling, patient, profound one! It has been an honour and privilege, to sit with the master plant medicines, shared along with the wisdom and the teachings of the Kichwa traditions. Working with Kurikindi has been nurturing and very rewarding on this path. We have learned that it’s important to keep an open mind, speak from the heart, to stay centred and focused in our light, to always remember the divine. Because everything is done in a sacred and loving way. I can say that my family and I have been well looked after throughout our healing journeys. We have sat in ceremonies, done retreats, intensive courses. Our experiences have shown us that these lessons aren’t just learned in the ceremonies, it’s how we’re able to carry on the teachings of the plant medicines and prayers – which assist and supports us in our own walks of life. It heals and nurtures us in ways that can’t be explained. The facilitators are very understanding, supportive and patient with us throughout our healing process. Finally, after all of the works are done we are fed! We eat and pray! Wow! They are great cooks! Your body will feel nourished and refreshed after doing a lot of intense work(s). We take away all that resonates with us, to help us along our path.
We’re looking forward to healing, sitting, sharing, hold space with you all soon. Thank you for everything!
May the Divine continue to hold and support us all, in a loving and caring way!
Love & Light!

July 8, 2023 at 2:51 pmI’ve visited the Kurikindi Kawsay Centre on 3 occasions. Once by myself and twice with my family, which includes our little boy of 1.
The centre feels like another home. A place for myself and my family to go to continue developing ourselves to be of service to humanity and learning how to plant good seeds of light for our children. Through cleansing, healing, opening our hearts and welcoming the wisdom of the rainforest, our time at the Kurikindi Kawsay Centre has helped us develop necessary tools and wisdom to navigate in these times. It’s a place that feels like home where we can learn the path back to just that… Home.
This isn’t a centre that encourages a passive experience, Kurikindi shares, teaches and heals from his heart, creating a space for every visitor to become an active participant in their own healing.
Maybe one of the most important things for us as a family was that our little boy was and is welcome. When we talk about Children being our future, Kurikindi honours that truth with integrity through welcoming and accommodating children in a safe way.
I could write for hours about the wonderful ceremonies, the feel and frequency of the land, the wisdom of the plants, the amazing wisdom shared by Kurikindi and the truly transformative nature of a visit to the Kurikindi Kawsay Centre but words can only do so much.
Each visit enables me to open a little more truth inside on my way home. I have not doubt it will enable the same for anyone who feels a call to visit.
On a practical note the centre’s facilities are top quality whilst everything is cleaned and maintained impeccably. Everyone is welcomed as family and truly taken care of.
