What is Avalon?
Avalon is a holistic healing centre in Barcelona and Ibiza (Spain), dedicated to self-discovery and profound inner journeys. Our retreats bring together the ancient wisdom of sacred medicines such as Ayahuasca, Magic Mushrooms, San Pedro, and Bufo Alvarius with modern practices of preparation, integration, and personalised care.
We follow a shamanic approach to the world of plant medicines, working with shamans from ancestral traditions of Brazil (Yawanawá, Huni Kuin, Mbyá Guaraní), Colombia (Kamëntsa, Kichwa, Pastos, Muisca, Cofán), and Peru (Quechua). Our mission is to create safe, contemporary, and refined spaces where participants can experience these medicines in the traditional Amazonian way.
With deep respect for ancestral knowledge, we complement it with tools that help non-indigenous participants gain the most from their experience and apply insights to everyday life. Preparation before the retreat builds confidence and clarity; our holistic programme introduces practices that foster wellbeing beyond the ceremony; and integration supports participants in maximising benefits while navigating any challenges that may arise afterwards.
Set and setting are two of the most critical factors in a psychedelic experience. At Avalon, safety and care are at the heart of everything we do. From the very beginning, participants are supported by a dedicated team, with a nearly one-to-one facilitator-to-guest ratio during retreats. Our team also includes a medical advisor, and we follow many of the safety guidelines recommended by ICEERS.
In adapting rituals that are not part of our own culture, we honour tradition while offering the highest level of comfort and beauty. This balance helps participants feel safe, surrender to the process, and embrace the full potential of a transformative journey.

What does a 6-day holistic Ayahuasca retreat include?
- 4 Ayahuasca ceremonies by experienced (>10 years) shamans trained in Colombia (Kamëntsa, Kichwa, Pastos, Muisca, and Cofán traditions), Peru (Quechua tradition), or Brazil (Yawanawá, Huni Kuin, Mbyá Guaraní traditions).

Every single participant left with a smile on their face and in my opinion it is not just thanks to the medicine – the genuine love and respect that you need to go through this process, and the passion with which the team at Avalon are doing their work…

There is always someone there for you, and I am grateful for every single member (and the group I was fortunate to go through this with) for the experience,If you have doubts or are looking for a sign, this is it.

From the moment I arrived, it was clear that every detail had been carefully considered to create a truly exceptional experience. The retreat’s design ensured a journey of deep transformation, facilitated by an extraordinary team of shamans, facilitators, and support staff who provided a safe and nurturing environment.
The retreat included four Ayahuasca ceremonies, skillfully led by Jairo Palchukán and Ness Dalgà. Ness, with her warm presence, deep knowledge, and musical gifts, guided the ceremonies with compassion and insight. The support during the Bufo and Kambo ceremonies was equally remarkable, allowing for a deeply personal and transformative experience.
For years, I had pondered attending an Ayahuasca retreat, often held back by fears and uncertainties about its suitability and safety. However, this retreat exceeded all my expectations. The setting and arrangements were flawless, providing an experience akin to a five-star retreat. It was the perfect introduction to such profound practices, and I would highly recommend it.
The integration workshops were invaluable, and led by two Angels, Pati and Lala. These sessions not only helped participants process their experiences but also fostered a strong sense of community and mutual support. The team, including Ammy, Alejandro, and Victor, provided continuous support, bringing together a wealth of experience in shamanism, plant medicines, and facilitation that was both evident and enriching.
Additional therapies offered during the retreat, such as Susy’s Access Bars sessions, Gabriel’s massages, and Abel’s breathwork sessions, added layers of healing and relaxation. The accommodations provided a perfect space for rest and reflection, and Marina’s exquisite meals were a delightful complement to the overall experience.
The transformation and healing that I witnessed among the participants were truly inspiring. For me, the ceremonies offered a rare opportunity to confront and process deep-seated emotions, yielding insights that were both profound and liberating. The combination of expert guidance, beautiful music, and a supportive environment created a masterpiece of an experience.
In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend Avalon’s retreats to anyone seeking profound personal growth and healing. The professionalism and dedication of the team, along with the carefully curated experiences, make it a truly transformative journey. Every detail, from the venue’s serene embrace to the luxurious accommodations, whispered tranquility. They are, without a shadow of a doubt, the kindest, most selfless and nurturing souls I know, and the beautiful humans single-handedly responsible for getting me through the dark night of the soul; a total annihilation of everything I thought I was and believed in. Their guidance has been a catalyst for my spiritual awakening. Through them, I’ve learnt not to care about what the optics look like and to instead invest in honesty. No more playing small. No more turning my back on myself. No more settling for what falls short because ‘who am I to ask for more?’ Clarity comes like lightning in the dark, and their teachings have crystallised into my deepest learning season yet. I owe them my gratitude, my sense of inner peace and purpose in living a life of service. They made me realise that the wound is the place where the light enters. This journey within — guided by Ayahuasca and held with such care by the incredible Avalon team and shamans — was truly profound. From the very first moment, I felt deep trust and safety, as if I was being gently carried through the entire process by experienced, compassionate hands. I was never alone. The venue itself radiates tranquility and grounding energy. Its peaceful surroundings created the perfect container for surrender, reflection, and healing. Every detail — from the space, to the program, to the way each ceremony and integration moment was thoughtfully held — supported the depth of this experience. 5 months agoHonestly, I’m no beginner to ancestral medicines and shamanic processes, but what I experienced with Avalon, the depth of sincere love and care, is something I had never felt before. 3 years agoMy experience at Avalon was incredible. From the moment you arrive you can feel the love, care and detail that is put into every element of your stay. It's a lovely, spacious location with a lake, trees, hammocks, horses and more. There are various activities you can choose from such as yoga, massage and dance in addition to the ceremonies. They also have an amazing chef Maria who plans out chromatic meals each day based on the colors of the chakras. It was an incredible experience that I would recommend to anyone. The entire team made me feel incredibly welcomed, loved and cared for. Big thank you to Alejandro and everyone at Avalon!

a year agoIt’s hard to put into words how amazing this place is. It’s totally not just the Ayahuasca ceremonies it’s the setting, the food, the activities, all the different alternative therapies on offer aswell as the people who run this place / work here are some of the most kind and loving people you will ever meet. I was very nervous & apprehensive about the aya ceremonies but I felt very safe and supported at all times. I had 1 ceremony that was particularly intense & Maggie sat with me for what felt like hours doing energy healing & supporting me through a very tough process. It’s a deep and heavy experience but it’s also full of love & laughter. The team here are great and I mostly had a permanent smile on my face the whole time & I am no longer scared of psychedelics I also did the Bufo which I can only describe as going to heaven for 15 minutes. It was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. It’s not a silver bullet to immediate perfection but i would say it’s one of the most healing experiences of my life & the intense night was like releasing 40 years of sadness so I now totally understand what they mean when they say it’s like 20 years of therapy in one night. I struggle to believe that there is a therapy out there that could go that deep and get that much sadness out of you. The shaman & facilitators were such beautiful people, you get a serious amount of love at this place ❤️ If your considering going to Avalon don’t hesitate just book it, you won’t regret it ❤️
