What is Avalon?
Avalon is a holistic healing centre in Barcelona and Ibiza (Spain), dedicated to self-discovery and profound inner journeys. Our retreats bring together the ancient wisdom of sacred medicines such as Ayahuasca, Magic Mushrooms, San Pedro, and Bufo Alvarius with modern practices of preparation, integration, and personalised care.
We follow a shamanic approach to the world of plant medicines, working with shamans from ancestral traditions of Brazil (Yawanawá, Huni Kuin, Mbyá Guaraní), Colombia (Kamëntsa, Kichwa, Pastos, Muisca, Cofán), and Peru (Quechua). Our mission is to create safe, contemporary, and refined spaces where participants can experience these medicines in the traditional Amazonian way.
With deep respect for ancestral knowledge, we complement it with tools that help non-indigenous participants gain the most from their experience and apply insights to everyday life. Preparation before the retreat builds confidence and clarity; our holistic programme introduces practices that foster wellbeing beyond the ceremony; and integration supports participants in maximising benefits while navigating any challenges that may arise afterwards.
Set and setting are two of the most critical factors in a psychedelic experience. At Avalon, safety and care are at the heart of everything we do. From the very beginning, participants are supported by a dedicated team, with a nearly one-to-one facilitator-to-guest ratio during retreats. Our team also includes a medical advisor, and we follow many of the safety guidelines recommended by ICEERS.
In adapting rituals that are not part of our own culture, we honour tradition while offering the highest level of comfort and beauty. This balance helps participants feel safe, surrender to the process, and embrace the full potential of a transformative journey.

What does a 6-day holistic Ayahuasca retreat include?
- 4 Ayahuasca ceremonies by experienced (>10 years) shamans trained in Colombia (Kamëntsa, Kichwa, Pastos, Muisca, and Cofán traditions), Peru (Quechua tradition), or Brazil (Yawanawá, Huni Kuin, Mbyá Guaraní traditions).
- 4 Rapé ceremonies (dried tobacco powder) – clearing the mind and cleansing the body and energy field, used in combination with Ayahuasca.
- 4 Integration workshops with a trained psychologist, combining diverse and creative methods, such as sharing circles, writing, art therapy, and ecstatic dance.
- 1 One-on-one integration session – Designed to bring your unique experience into your daily life and ensure lasting change.

August 10, 2024 at 5:34 pmI have recently had the honour of attending a Bufo Alvarius ceremony with Avalon for the first time. There was such a thread of pure love and care weaved throughout the entire process and, despite being incredibly nervous, I felt deeply held and supported by this and safe to trust the process. Ammy welcomed me online with such warmth which really set the tone. And Victor continued this on the day.
Ness – supported by Susy and Pierluigi – emanate such love and light – it is palpable. They are three of the most beautiful souls I have ever met, they hug like angels and it was blissful to be in the presence of their energy.
Ness is such a loving, gentle, joyful and wise being and shawoman, with a grounded strength and clarity… she creates the most loving, safe space and guides the ceremony with such skill, love and devotion to her practice and all whom she holds there.
The whole group were so loving and supportive of one another under this guidance which contributed significantly to the experience… the energy created together was just beautiful.
I struggled at first to receive the medicine – elements of fear resisting – but Ness, Susy and Pierluigi remained so calm, patient and grounded with me, helped me to refocus and maintained their trust in me. We went again and I let go. I’m so grateful for this.
Throughout, Ness cultivates a sense of strength and courage in being vulnerable and surrendering – something which I can struggle with and which really helped me. It was, I feel, the core of my healing.
Everyone will have their own personal experience, unique and precious to them, and I am truly grateful for the one I had. It was the most beautiful confirmation to me that ‘the medicine will give you exactly what you need – no more, no less.’ I received exactly this and I am overwhelmed with loving gratitude for it.
I could go on! There is so much love to be felt by Ness and All at Avalon. I feel I will return some day… to receive another divine hug if nothing else! 🙂

I’d like to express my profound gratitude to the entire Avalon team that took care of us is this wonderful ceremony. This was a collective experience in an amazing setting. My personal experience was truly trascendental and of pure love. I went into the Bufo ceremony quite ready. However, as the time of the ceremony got closer, I was extremely nervous and scared. Ness our shaman and her team flawlessly guided us with breathing exercises and sharing of our intentions in a setting with lovely shamanic sounds and mystical incense smoke. These brought us collectively to tranquility and total ease before receiving the medicine. We received clear instructions for every step in receiving the medicine. Immediately after I inhaled the medicine, I was catapulted into the cosmos which initially terrified my mind or ego. After I surrendered, my soul exploded into a pure white light in which I’ve experienced oneness with the divine, perfect love, forgiveness and a profound feeling of a state of omniscient. Everything was understood and my little ego shattered in pieces. After becoming aware of my physical body again, I could appreciate other people’s experiences and assimilated as my own. Bufo alvarius has helped me in understanding and seeing the divine in every being on this planet. We all come from God and will return to him/her/it.. Every being has his own path and it’s perfect, we only experience suffering when we become unaware of our eternal nature of love. Now I feel like a reborn human being and ready to continue in my journey like a free man. I give my profound gratitude to the creature Bufo alvarius! -

This journey within — guided by Ayahuasca and held with such care by the incredible Avalon team and shamans — was truly profound. From the very first moment, I felt deep trust and safety, as if I was being gently carried through the entire process by experienced, compassionate hands. I was never alone. The venue itself radiates tranquility and grounding energy. Its peaceful surroundings created the perfect container for surrender, reflection, and healing. Every detail — from the space, to the program, to the way each ceremony and integration moment was thoughtfully held — supported the depth of this experience. I feel as if I moved a mountain within myself and closed a very painful chapter of my life. What unfolded went far beyond what I could have imagined. The structure of the program, combined with the additional offerings, allowed me to go deeper, softer, and more honestly into my own process. 4 years agoMy experience at Avalon was incredible. From the moment you arrive you can feel the love, care and detail that is put into every element of your stay. It's a lovely, spacious location with a lake, trees, hammocks, horses and more. There are various activities you can choose from such as yoga, massage and dance in addition to the ceremonies. They also have an amazing chef Maria who plans out chromatic meals each day based on the colors of the chakras. It was an incredible experience that I would recommend to anyone. The entire team made me feel incredibly welcomed, loved and cared for. Big thank you to Alejandro and everyone at Avalon!

3 months agoThis was my first ayahuasca experience, and I honestly couldn’t have chosen a better place. From the very beginning, everything felt incredibly well organized. I felt safe at all times, truly cared for, and supported in a very thoughtful way. The place itself is absolutely beautiful peaceful, surrounded by nature, and very comfortable. And the food… not only delicious but also very original and clearly prepared with so much attention and love. I’m leaving deeply grateful for the whole experience. 2 months agoThis is Healing, not Recreational retreat, beware!! People who decide to go to Avalon must simply remember that before reserving a seat! This is not to have fun (although you will have fun, but with the other guests and the Avalon Crew) or during one or more of the sessions. Healing, healing: I thought I had nothing to heal, aka "I am in good shape, good health, and no known psychological or physical issue". I went there for discovery, for getting closer to my Real Self, to my Soul, and also to have some fancy travel, to be honest. Well, no "fancy travel in the stars" for me (others participants had that), no, not this time. But, gosh, all the rest was stunning. And difficult. but believe, when you lose your ego, you become the REAL you. You accept and embrace life. You are finally happy without limit.
