What is Avalon?

Avalon is a holistic healing centre in Barcelona and Ibiza (Spain), dedicated to self-discovery and profound inner journeys. Our retreats bring together the ancient wisdom of sacred medicines such as Ayahuasca, Magic Mushrooms, San Pedro, and Bufo Alvarius with modern practices of preparation, integration, and personalised care.

We follow a shamanic approach to the world of plant medicines, working with shamans from ancestral traditions of Brazil (Yawanawá, Huni Kuin, Mbyá Guaraní), Colombia (Kamëntsa, Kichwa, Pastos, Muisca, Cofán), and Peru (Quechua). Our mission is to create safe, contemporary, and refined spaces where participants can experience these medicines in the traditional Amazonian way.

With deep respect for ancestral knowledge, we complement it with tools that help non-indigenous participants gain the most from their experience and apply insights to everyday life. Preparation before the retreat builds confidence and clarity; our holistic programme introduces practices that foster wellbeing beyond the ceremony; and integration supports participants in maximising benefits while navigating any challenges that may arise afterwards.

Set and setting are two of the most critical factors in a psychedelic experience. At Avalon, safety and care are at the heart of everything we do. From the very beginning, participants are supported by a dedicated team, with a nearly one-to-one facilitator-to-guest ratio during retreats. Our team also includes a medical advisor, and we follow many of the safety guidelines recommended by ICEERS.

In adapting rituals that are not part of our own culture, we honour tradition while offering the highest level of comfort and beauty. This balance helps participants feel safe, surrender to the process, and embrace the full potential of a transformative journey.

What does a 6-day holistic Ayahuasca retreat include?

• 4 Ayahuasca ceremonies by experienced (>10 years) shamans trained in Colombia (Kamëntsa, Kichwa, Pastos, Muisca, and Cofán traditions), Peru (Quechua tradition), or Brazil (Yawanawá, Huni Kuin, Mbyá Guaraní traditions).
• 4 Rapé ceremonies (dried tobacco powder) – clearing the mind and cleansing the body and energy field, used in combination with Ayahuasca.
• 4 Integration workshops with a trained psychologist, combining diverse and creative methods, such as sharing circles, writing, art therapy, and ecstatic dance.
• 1 One-on-one integration session – Designed to bring your unique experience into your daily life and ensure lasting change.
• 1 Access bars – energetic therapy facilitating the release of limiting beliefs.
• 1 Holotropic breathwork.
• 1 Healing massage.
• 4 Yoga and meditation sessions suitable for all levels.
• 12 Creative, chef-crafted meals prepared fresh daily from high-quality sources in an Ayahuasca-friendly manner.

  Honestly, I’m no beginner to ancestral medicines and shamanic processes, but what I experienced with Avalon, the depth of sincere love and care, is something I had never felt before.   My experience at Avalon was incredible. From the moment you arrive you can feel the love, care and detail that is put into every element of your stay. It's a lovely, spacious location with a lake, trees, hammocks, horses and more. There are various activities you can choose from such as yoga, massage and dance in addition to the ceremonies. They also have an amazing chef Maria who plans out chromatic meals each day based on the colors of the chakras. It was an incredible experience that I would recommend to anyone. The entire team made me feel incredibly welcomed, loved and cared for. Big thank you to Alejandro and everyone at Avalon!

  It’s hard to put into words how amazing this place is. It’s totally not just the Ayahuasca ceremonies it’s the setting, the food, the activities, all the different alternative therapies on offer aswell as the people who run this place / work here are some of the most kind and loving people you will ever meet. I was very nervous & apprehensive about the aya ceremonies but I felt very safe and supported at all times. I had 1 ceremony that was particularly intense & Maggie sat with me for what felt like hours doing energy healing & supporting me through a very tough process. It’s a deep and heavy experience but it’s also full of love & laughter. The team here are great and I mostly had a permanent smile on my face the whole time & I am no longer scared of psychedelics I also did the Bufo which I can only describe as going to heaven for 15 minutes. It was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. It’s not a silver bullet to immediate perfection but i would say it’s one of the most healing experiences of my life & the intense night was like releasing 40 years of sadness so I now totally understand what they mean when they say it’s like 20 years of therapy in one night. I struggle to believe that there is a therapy out there that could go that deep and get that much sadness out of you. The shaman & facilitators were such beautiful people, you get a serious amount of love at this place ❤️ If your considering going to Avalon don’t hesitate just book it, you won’t regret it ❤️

  I had an amazing experience with Avalon at the mushroom ceremony in Barcelona! Right from the time I signed up, the communication was thorough and timely and I was made to feel comfortable and welcome. Ammy is very kind and compassionate and put me at ease during the preparatory call a few weeks before. The ceremony itself was wonderful and gentle, and we closed out with an integration session which helped me make a smooth transition back to life very quickly. I’d highly recommend it to anyone considering an experience with plant medicine!

  I recently attended a 4 day Holistic Ayahuasca Retreat with Avalon in Barcelona, and it was truly life-changing. From start to finish, everything about this experience was carefully curated and incredibly powerful. The Avalon team was not only professional but genuinely caring, supportive, and deeply loving. Each session felt thoughtfully designed to guide us through profound healing and transformation.

  One aspect that stood out was how much emphasis they placed on integration. The team made sure we had the tools and support to process our experiences, which I now realize is absolutely essential for getting the most out of a retreat like this.

  The accommodations were exceptional as well. The setting was peaceful and surrounded by nature, creating a perfect environment for introspection. The facilities were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, providing a safe haven to relax and recharge.

  Having shamans from the Amazon guiding our sessions brought an authenticity and power to the experience that I’ll never forget. Their wisdom and presence helped create an atmosphere of trust, which was crucial to delving deep into the journey.

  On top of all that, the food was incredible. The chef put so much care and creativity into every meal, which was nourishing and delicious. Sharing meals with everyone fostered a sense of community, and I left with strong connections with people I feel truly bonded to.

  It was amazing to witness each person receiving exactly what they needed. By the end, it was clear that everyone had grown in profound ways, leaving as renewed and better versions of themselves. I wholeheartedly recommend Avalon to anyone who feels called to this journey—it’s an experience that will stay with you forever.

  I tagged along with a friend for a 6 day, 4 ceremony Ayahuasca retreat and this experience is the single most profound moment of my life. Ayahusaca has changed my life for the better and in ways that I didn’t even know I needed change.

  I am deeply thankful that the care and love poured on me by the Avalon team. I cannot thank the staff of Avalon enough for their dedication to the medicine and healing. I would recommend this retreat 100% if you have a calling from mother Aya, know that you cannot be in better hands than with this amazing team.

  I went to a 6 days retreat for the first time at Avalon and all I can say is just; WOW!

  Reality is the medicine is everywhere once you enter this place. Everything from the love that get put in to the food, to the integration circles, to the holders of the space, the optional massage, to the guardians in ceremony, the 1+1 therapies, to the shamans, to the people organising it, the beautiful group.
  It was a beautiful co creation of energies and I felt so held through out the whole journey. Through this safety of the space and place I could really enter deep layers of my healing journey as I drank the medicine. I’ve been sitting many ceremonies but this one is far the most 5 star experience for me due to the service provided that really allowed me to surrender completely.

  The whole retreat was extremely well organised and you could really tell they have been doing this for a long time. The healing container was an open space since day one and for me it was beautiful experience the loving energy Alejandro and the team really creates this place from. Not even mentioning the location that really is a slice of paradise.

  Thank you for being a massive part of my new chapter, I am forever grateful for this experience and I will always carry it with me. I will be back <3
