What is Avalon?

Avalon is a holistic healing centre in Barcelona and Ibiza (Spain), dedicated to self-discovery and profound inner journeys. Our retreats bring together the ancient wisdom of sacred medicines such as Ayahuasca, Magic Mushrooms, San Pedro, and Bufo Alvarius with modern practices of preparation, integration, and personalised care.

We follow a shamanic approach to the world of plant medicines, working with shamans from ancestral traditions of Brazil (Yawanawá, Huni Kuin, Mbyá Guaraní), Colombia (Kamëntsa, Kichwa, Pastos, Muisca, Cofán), and Peru (Quechua). Our mission is to create safe, contemporary, and refined spaces where participants can experience these medicines in the traditional Amazonian way.

With deep respect for ancestral knowledge, we complement it with tools that help non-indigenous participants gain the most from their experience and apply insights to everyday life. Preparation before the retreat builds confidence and clarity; our holistic programme introduces practices that foster wellbeing beyond the ceremony; and integration supports participants in maximising benefits while navigating any challenges that may arise afterwards.

Set and setting are two of the most critical factors in a psychedelic experience. At Avalon, safety and care are at the heart of everything we do. From the very beginning, participants are supported by a dedicated team, with a nearly one-to-one facilitator-to-guest ratio during retreats. Our team also includes a medical advisor, and we follow many of the safety guidelines recommended by ICEERS.

In adapting rituals that are not part of our own culture, we honour tradition while offering the highest level of comfort and beauty. This balance helps participants feel safe, surrender to the process, and embrace the full potential of a transformative journey.

What does a 6-day holistic Ayahuasca retreat include?

4 Ayahuasca ceremonies by experienced (>10 years) shamans trained in Colombia (Kamëntsa, Kichwa, Pastos, Muisca, and Cofán traditions), Peru (Quechua tradition), or Brazil (Yawanawá, Huni Kuin, Mbyá Guaraní traditions).
4 Rapé ceremonies (dried tobacco powder) – clearing the mind and cleansing the body and energy field, used in combination with Ayahuasca.
4 Integration workshops with a trained psychologist, combining diverse and creative methods, such as sharing circles, writing, art therapy, and ecstatic dance.
1 One-on-one integration session – Designed to bring your unique experience into your daily life and ensure lasting change.
1 Access bars – energetic therapy facilitating the release of limiting beliefs.

Dear Avalon family! From the bottom of my heart, thank you. This journey within — guided by Ayahuasca and held with such care by the incredible Avalon team and shamans — was truly profound. From the very first moment, I felt deep trust and safety, as if I was being gently carried through the entire process by experienced, compassionate hands. I was never alone. The venue itself radiates tranquility and grounding energy. Its peaceful surroundings created the perfect container for surrender, reflection, and healing. Every detail — from the space, to the program, to the way each ceremony and integration moment was thoughtfully held — supported the depth of this experience. I feel as if I moved a mountain within myself and closed a very painful chapter of my life. What unfolded went far beyond what I could have imagined. The structure of the program, combined with the additional offerings, allowed me to go deeper, softer, and more honestly into my own process. Next time, without hesitation, I would apply for every additional offering available — each one is a gift. My experience at Avalon was incredible. From the moment you arrive you can feel the love, care and detail that is put into every element of your stay. It's a lovely, spacious location with a lake, trees, hammocks, horses and more. There are various activities you can choose from such as yoga, massage and dance in addition to the ceremonies. They also have an amazing chef Maria who plans out chromatic meals each day based on the colors of the chakras. It was an incredible experience that I would recommend to anyone. The entire team made me feel incredibly welcomed, loved and cared for. Big thank you to Alejandro and everyone at Avalon!

This was my first ayahuasca experience, and I honestly couldn’t have chosen a better place. From the very beginning, everything felt incredibly well organized. I felt safe at all times, truly cared for, and supported in a very thoughtful way. The place itself is absolutely beautiful peaceful, surrounded by nature, and very comfortable. And the food… not only delicious but also very original and clearly prepared with so much attention and love. I’m leaving deeply grateful for the whole experience. This is Healing, not Recreational retreat, beware!! People who decide to go to Avalon must simply remember that before reserving a seat! This is not to have fun (although you will have fun, but with the other guests and the Avalon Crew) or during one or more of the sessions. Healing, healing: I thought I had nothing to heal, aka "I am in good shape, good health, and no known psychological or physical issue". I went there for discovery, for getting closer to my Real Self, to my Soul, and also to have some fancy travel, to be honest. Well, no "fancy travel in the stars" for me (others participants had that), no, not this time. But, gosh, all the rest was stunning. And difficult. but believe, when you lose your ego, you become the REAL you. You accept and embrace life. You are finally happy without limit.

I recently completed a six-day retreat with Avalon, and the entire experience was incredible. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed and made feel at ease by Alejandro. The venue was beautiful and serene, and the food was delicious, perfectly complementing the ceremonies. The guides were kind and supportive throughout the retreat.

This was my first ayahuasca retreat, but the love and warmth of everyone at Avalon quickly put me at ease, making me feel safe and trusting. The ceremonies were beautiful, and I appreciated the two different shamans and guardians who led me through four separate ayahuasca medicine experiences. The Bufo and Kambo ceremonies also provided opportunities for introspection, and I was grateful for the integration sessions the day after each ceremony.

The entire retreat was well-organised, and I left feeling at peace and full of love. I have a renewed connection to my inner self and my family, and I look forward to returning to Avalon soon ❤️

I worked with Avalon as a volunteer. It’s a serious project, with an amazing staff. Designed to be a container for deep exploration it’s perfectly organized. Good location, high quality food, it provides the chance to work with 2 different Chamans during its long retreat version.

i’ve been in several retreats and I can tell that all details are sorted out in Avalon. It offers a real and serious screening, group and one to one integration session, a follow up, and enough ceremonies to decide how deep and how much you want to work in yourself.

I cannot recommend enough Avalon and their fantastic team. I had a profoundly healing experience and beautiful growth with wonderful people.
