What is Avalon?
Avalon is a holistic healing centre in Barcelona and Ibiza (Spain), dedicated to self-discovery and profound inner journeys. Our retreats bring together the ancient wisdom of sacred medicines such as Ayahuasca, Magic Mushrooms, San Pedro, and Bufo Alvarius with modern practices of preparation, integration, and personalised care.
We follow a shamanic approach to the world of plant medicines, working with shamans from ancestral traditions of Brazil (Yawanawá, Huni Kuin, Mbyá Guaraní), Colombia (Kamëntsa, Kichwa, Pastos, Muisca, Cofán), and Peru (Quechua). Our mission is to create safe, contemporary, and refined spaces where participants can experience these medicines in the traditional Amazonian way.
With deep respect for ancestral knowledge, we complement it with tools that help non-indigenous participants gain the most from their experience and apply insights to everyday life. Preparation before the retreat builds confidence and clarity; our holistic programme introduces practices that foster wellbeing beyond the ceremony; and integration supports participants in maximising benefits while navigating any challenges that may arise afterwards.
Set and setting are two of the most critical factors in a psychedelic experience. At Avalon, safety and care are at the heart of everything we do. From the very beginning, participants are supported by a dedicated team, with a nearly one-to-one facilitator-to-guest ratio during retreats. Our team also includes a medical advisor, and we follow many of the safety guidelines recommended by ICEERS.
In adapting rituals that are not part of our own culture, we honour tradition while offering the highest level of comfort and beauty. This balance helps participants feel safe, surrender to the process, and embrace the full potential of a transformative journey.

What does a 6-day holistic Ayahuasca retreat include?
- 4 Ayahuasca ceremonies by experienced (>10 years) shamans trained in Colombia (Kamëntsa, Kichwa, Pastos, Muisca, and Cofán traditions), Peru (Quechua tradition), or Brazil (Yawanawá, Huni Kuin, Mbyá Guaraní traditions).
- 4 Rapé ceremonies (dried tobacco powder) – clearing the mind and cleansing the body and energy field, used in combination with Ayahuasca.

The experience was life-changing, thanks to the incredible team of shamans, facilitators, and support staff who created a safe, nurturing environment for profound personal growth and healing.
The retreat included four powerful Ayahuasca ceremonies led by Nilton Santi of the Quechua tradition from Peru and Ness Dalgà, trained by the Shipibo and Cofán traditions. Nilton’s authenticity and wisdom, combined with the incredible musical talents of the supporting ladies, created a profound and transformative experience. Ness’s kindness, love, and knowledge shone through in her ceremonies, further enhanced by her musical gifts. Ness and her team also provided superb support and care during the Bufo and Kambo ceremonies.
Lala’s integration workshops and yoga sessions were invaluable in helping participants process their experiences and maintain motivation. The team, including Maggie, Chris, Ammy, Alejandro, and Victor, provided constant support, guidance, and care throughout the retreat. Their diverse backgrounds in shamanism, plant medicines, and facilitation created a well-rounded and knowledgeable support system.
The retreat also featured exceptional complementary therapies. Susy’s Access Bars sessions, Gabriel’s outstanding massages, and Abel’s breathwork sessions were highlights for many participants, contributing to the overall healing and growth process.
The retreat’s accommodations were comfortable and conducive to relaxation and reflection. A special mention goes to Marina, the chef, who created outstanding, restaurant-quality meals that perfectly complemented the Ayahuasca journey.
Witnessing the profound healing and transformation experienced by my fellow participants was genuinely inspiring. I found the ceremonies incredibly beneficial personally, helping me overcome significant challenges and gain valuable insights.

January 14, 2024 at 8:19 amI can’t say enough about this marvelous experience I had with Avalon. Everything was designed in such a way to make my journey a most wonderful one. I felt held and supported. For someone who has difficulty asking for help in the real world, this was an exercise of total surrender that I will hold close to my heart forever. I went full of fear and doubt if it would work for me, if it works at all etc… and I left with way more than I could ever expect. I was contemplating an ayahuasca retreat for around 8 or 10 years. I wish from the bottom of my heart that I had done it earlier. But all happens in good time. If I were to do it again, Avalon would be where I would go. The shaman, the music, the location, the venue, and the support team (those we met and those behind the scenes) were all so beautifully orchestrated into the most beautiful work of art to give us the experience of a lifetime. I highly recommend them.

It was truly a deep inner work and transformative journey and that was made possible because of the wonderful and devoted Avalon team. They all work to make sure all the participants get fully supported. And the support doesn’t stop at the end of the retreat, it continues afterwards with integration calls, group etc… It truly is an holistic approach to self healing and not just a ceremony which can left you alone without tool. The team provides thorough support and tools to help all the participants integrate, ground and make the transformation and insights sustainable once back in the daily life. Thank you Avalon. The venue itself radiates tranquility and grounding energy. Its peaceful surroundings created the perfect container for surrender, reflection, and healing. 5 months agoHonestly, I’m no beginner to ancestral medicines and shamanic processes, but what I experienced with Avalon, the depth of sincere love and care, is something I had never felt before. The journey was awe-inspiring and left me transformed for the better. I cannot thank them enough; these are people who genuinely want to elevate the world. 3 years agoMy experience at Avalon was incredible. From the moment you arrive you can feel the love, care and detail that is put into every element of your stay. It's a lovely, spacious location with a lake, trees, hammocks, horses and more. There are various activities you can choose from such as yoga, massage and dance in addition to the ceremonies. They also have an amazing chef Maria who plans out chromatic meals each day based on the colors of the chakras. It was an incredible experience that I would recommend to anyone. The entire team made me feel incredibly welcomed, loved and cared for. Big thank you to Alejandro and everyone at Avalon!

a year agoIt’s hard to put into words how amazing this place is. It’s totally not just the Ayahuasca ceremonies it’s the setting, the food, the activities, all the different alternative therapies on offer aswell as the people who run this place / work here are some of the most kind and loving people you will ever meet. I was very nervous & apprehensive about the aya ceremonies but I felt very safe and supported at all times. I had 1 ceremony that was particularly intense & Maggie sat with me for what felt like hours doing energy healing & supporting me through a very tough process. It’s a deep and heavy experience but it’s also full of love & laughter. The team here are great and I mostly had a permanent smile on my face the whole time & I am no longer scared of psychedelics I also did the Bufo which I can only describe as going to heaven for 15 minutes. It was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. It’s not a silver bullet to immediate perfection but i would say it’s one of the most healing experiences of my life & the intense night was like releasing 40 years of sadness so I now totally understand what they mean when they say it’s like 20 years of therapy in one night. I struggle to believe that there is a therapy out there that could go that deep and get that much sadness out of you. The shaman & facilitators were such beautiful people, you get a serious amount of love at this place ❤️ If your considering going to Avalon don’t hesitate just book it, you won’t regret it ❤️
