Avalon

Barcelona & Ibiza, Spain

What is Avalon?

Avalon is a holistic healing centre in Barcelona and Ibiza (Spain), dedicated to self-discovery and profound inner journeys. Our retreats bring together the ancient wisdom of sacred medicines such as Ayahuasca, Magic Mushrooms, San Pedro, and Bufo Alvarius with modern practices of preparation, integration, and personalised care.

We follow a shamanic approach to the world of plant medicines, working with shamans from ancestral traditions of Brazil (Yawanawá, Huni Kuin, Mbyá Guaraní), Colombia (Kamëntsa, Kichwa, Pastos, Muisca, Cofán), and Peru (Quechua). Our mission is to create safe, contemporary, and refined spaces where participants can experience these medicines in the traditional Amazonian way.

With deep respect for ancestral knowledge, we complement it with tools that help non-indigenous participants gain the most from their experience and apply insights to everyday life. Preparation before the retreat builds confidence and clarity; our holistic programme introduces practices that foster wellbeing beyond the ceremony; and integration supports participants in maximising benefits while navigating any challenges that may arise afterwards.

Set and setting are two of the most critical factors in a psychedelic experience. At Avalon, safety and care are at the heart of everything we do. From the very beginning, participants are supported by a dedicated team, with a nearly one-to-one facilitator-to-guest ratio during retreats. Our team also includes a medical advisor, and we follow many of the safety guidelines recommended by ICEERS.

In adapting rituals that are not part of our own culture, we honour tradition while offering the highest level of comfort and beauty. This balance helps participants feel safe, surrender to the process, and embrace the full potential of a transformative journey.

Dear Avalon family! From the bottom of my heart, thank you. This journey within — guided by Ayahuasca and held with such care by the incredible Avalon team and shamans — was truly profound. From the very first moment, I felt deep trust and safety, as if I was being gently carried through the entire process by experienced, compassionate hands. I was never alone. The venue itself radiates tranquility and grounding energy. Its peaceful surroundings created the perfect container for surrender, reflection, and healing. Every detail — from the space, to the program, to the way each ceremony and integration moment was thoughtfully held — supported the depth of this experience. I feel as if I moved a mountain within myself and closed a very painful chapter of my life. What unfolded went far beyond what I could have imagined. The structure of the program, combined with the additional offerings, allowed me to go deeper, softer, and more honestly into my own process. Next time, without hesitation, I would apply for every additional offering available — each one is a gift. I will never forget this experience, and I will remain forever grateful to people like you — who devote their lives and energy to honoring plant medicine, creating safe and sacred spaces, and helping others face their inner wars, release what no longer serves them, and find peace.🌈 Thank you for walking this path with such integrity, humility, and love. ✨🫀✨

My journey with Avalon was deeply transformative. I felt held, supported, and never judged — even in my most vulnerable moments. The team created a profoundly safe and loving space where real healing could unfold. I experienced a true rebirth during this retreat, and I carry deep gratitude for the care, integrity, and presence of everyone involved. Avalon is not just a retreat — it is a family and a sacred container for transformation.

Honestly, I’m no beginner to ancestral medicines and shamanic processes, but what I experienced with Avalon, the depth of sincere love and care, is something I had never felt before. The journey was awe-inspiring and left me transformed for the better. I cannot thank them enough; these are people who genuinely want to elevate the world. The organization is spotless, the lady Shaman was exceptional, and lastly the food was absolutely delicious. Thank you Avalon, you truly are Love.

My experience at Avalon was incredible. From the moment you arrive you can feel the love, care and detail that is put into every element of your stay. It's a lovely, spacious location with a lake, trees, hammocks, horses and more. There are various activities you can choose from such as yoga, massage and dance in addition to the ceremonies. They also have an amazing chef Maria who plans out chromatic meals each day based on the colors of the chakras. It was an incredible experience that I would recommend to anyone. The entire team made me feel incredibly welcomed, loved and cared for. Big thank you to Alejandro and everyone at Avalon!

It’s hard to put into words how amazing this place is. It’s totally not just the Ayahuasca ceremonies it’s the setting, the food, the activities, all the different alternative therapies on offer aswell as the people who run this place / work here are some of the most kind and loving people you will ever meet. I was very nervous & apprehensive about the aya ceremonies but I felt very safe and supported at all times. I had 1 ceremony that was particularly intense & Maggie sat with me for what felt like hours doing energy healing & supporting me through a very tough process. It’s a deep and heavy experience but it’s also full of love & laughter. The team here are great and I mostly had a permanent smile on my face the whole time & I am no longer scared of psychedelics I also did the Bufo which I can only describe as going to heaven for 15 minutes. It was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. It’s not a silver bullet to immediate perfection but i would say it’s one of the most healing experiences of my life & the intense night was like releasing 40 years of sadness so I now totally understand what they mean when they say it’s like 20 years of therapy in one night. I struggle to believe that there is a therapy out there that could go that deep and get that much sadness out of you. The shaman & facilitators were such beautiful people, you get a serious amount of love at this place ❤️ If your considering going to Avalon don’t hesitate just book it, you won’t regret it ❤️

Really great experience. Mother Aya didn’t gave me what I wanted, instead it gave me what I needed. Thanks to all the family of Avalon for all your support during the journey.

My time as a participant at Avalon was for the New year 6 day retreat. I feel like I still don’t have the words to give it justice for how life changing my experience was (but I’ll do my best). I’d describe the venue as the perfect balance of Luxury and comfort but also feeling fully immersed in Mother Nature. With absolutely beautiful grounds which is thriving with wildlife, beautiful greenery and the most calm and peaceful lake as soon as you arrive you feel so held and safe. The ceremonies were absolutely exquisite! There was such a deep sense and feeling of the jungle even though we was on Spanish lands and the teachings and healing that took place was some of the deepest work I have ever done and witnesses with this medicine. The music was out of this world with so much variety from so many different lineages. This was a coming together of a family to not only just heal but to celebrate life on Earth! I danced and sang like never before but also embarked on one of the deepest healing journeys I have ever been on with plant medicines. As I said at the beginning this retreat literally changed my life! The food was Devine and so intentionally thought out with every day being colour coded to our chakras which brought so much healing and also awareness to the huge part food plays in these experiences. The integrations circles and support outside of ceremony were impeccable and there was always someone to hand to hold and support you if you needed it which is in itself one of the most important parts of journeying with plant medicines. There is also an integration programme in place for when you leave the retreat to really help you transition back to
Your every day life which again is so needed after diving deep
into these life altering spaces. And I am so deeply grateful to the Avalon team who I now call family for all of the love, intention, work and commitment they make to each and every person who embarks on a journey of healing and rediscovering with them.
    Viva Familia!!

For years I had in mind to try Ayahuasca and I knew I would one day as it was on my wish list.
For New Year’s Eve 21/22, I was supposed to be in Andalusia and my flight ticket was already booked when…

…It all changed one afternoon when I discovered Avalon website! I was blown away by what I was reading: a 6 days luxury retreat in nature, close to Barcelona, with a very complete program, a deep healing and transformational experience with a bunch of international people and highly qualified staff.
My heart beat changed as I got excited and I booked the retreat the next day! I was the last one signing up after a 1 hour talk with Alejandro who happened to be the organizer and founder of Avalon. The one who got inspired having the vision of creating those meaningful and extra-ordinary retreats.

2 months went by since it happened and I am now writing. I had to wait to integrate the changes, let them bloom and express them. It has clearly been a fortunate life changing experience..

I was scared for years by Ayahuasca, by what I read or heard, by the unknown and the remote zone it allows you to step in but I knew I could trust Avalon. I just knew it and I’m grateful I followed my instinct.
By the way, there is nothing to be afraid of if you are ready to stop blindness and foolishness and to know better who you are. That is the worst that can happen to you and I’m smiling as I’m writing.

It’s all about growing, healing, understanding of one’s true self, becoming honest, better, wiser, opening your heart, finding deeper sense in your life, your Ikigai as the Japanese call it..
The Ayahuasca World is a window, a door to higher intelligence, a connection with a tribe, a community with shared values and big loving hearts.

The retreat was as close as it can be to perfection. I work in Luxury Tourism for the best Awarded American River Cruise Line company and I mean my words.
I was (still) impressed by everything: the concept, the content, the place, the TEAM: the day team, the kitchen team & the night team: their professionalism, friendliness, authenticity, poetry, generosity…
The Team was united and embracing with love its mission towards each and every one of us. Every team’s name deserves to be written but there are too many!

The retreat was intense, overwhelming and fascinating…
The nights were pure madness, love and beauty all together. I was captivated by the ‘’movie’’ going on at night..plus my own feelings!
The power of live concerts, beautiful healing shamanic songs and voices, the candles and the smells of specific encens, the fire outside of the ceremony room, the Tim Burton forest around…
There was such a beautiful decor to experience with confidence the sacred psychoactive brew. It was time!

Everyone had a very different experience. Vomiting is part of the cleansing experience, worthit (better than for Gin Tonics!). Yes! .. the night could also turn out to be difficult but it is believed that the Ayahuasca brings you exactly what you need just as it calls you when it’s time.. There you are!

To summarize it, my experience was to gain clarity, awareness, inner peace…I feel stronger as I healed and I understood more about feelings, mechanisms, issues….
My journey with Ayahuasca just started and I believe it will slowly and surely take me to greater purposes…

With lots of Love & Gratitude to the Avalon Family and all the brothers and sisters I met.

    Emmanuelle.
