What is Avalon?
Avalon is a holistic healing centre in Barcelona and Ibiza (Spain), dedicated to self-discovery and profound inner journeys. Our retreats bring together the ancient wisdom of sacred medicines such as Ayahuasca, Magic Mushrooms, San Pedro, and Bufo Alvarius with modern practices of preparation, integration, and personalised care.
We follow a shamanic approach to the world of plant medicines, working with shamans from ancestral traditions of Brazil (Yawanawá, Huni Kuin, Mbyá Guaraní), Colombia (Kamëntsa, Kichwa, Pastos, Muisca, Cofán), and Peru (Quechua). Our mission is to create safe, contemporary, and refined spaces where participants can experience these medicines in the traditional Amazonian way.
With deep respect for ancestral knowledge, we complement it with tools that help non-indigenous participants gain the most from their experience and apply insights to everyday life. Preparation before the retreat builds confidence and clarity; our holistic programme introduces practices that foster wellbeing beyond the ceremony; and integration supports participants in maximising benefits while navigating any challenges that may arise afterwards.
Set and setting are two of the most critical factors in a psychedelic experience. At Avalon, safety and care are at the heart of everything we do. From the very beginning, participants are supported by a dedicated team, with a nearly one-to-one facilitator-to-guest ratio during retreats. Our team also includes a medical advisor, and we follow many of the safety guidelines recommended by ICEERS.
In adapting rituals that are not part of our own culture, we honour tradition while offering the highest level of comfort and beauty. This balance helps participants feel safe, surrender to the process, and embrace the full potential of a transformative journey.

What does a 6-day holistic Ayahuasca retreat include?
- 4 Ayahuasca ceremonies by experienced (>10 years) shamans trained in Colombia (Kamëntsa, Kichwa, Pastos, Muisca, and Cofán traditions), Peru (Quechua tradition), or Brazil (Yawanawá, Huni Kuin, Mbyá Guaraní traditions).
- 4 Rapé ceremonies (dried tobacco powder) – clearing the mind and cleansing the body and energy field, used in combination with Ayahuasca.
- 4 Integration workshops with a trained psychologist, combining diverse and creative methods, such as sharing circles, writing, art therapy, and ecstatic dance.
- 1 One-on-one integration session – Designed to bring your unique experience into your daily life and ensure lasting change.
- 1 Access bars – energetic therapy facilitating the release of limiting beliefs.
- 1 Holotropic breathwork.
- 1 Healing massage.
- 4 Yoga and meditation sessions suitable for all levels.

From the first moment I got a very trustful impression, and I felt very accompanied since the first contact. After my first experience with this sacred plant, I learned that medicine has it’s own timing, it’s own agenda when it comes to what kind of experience your going to have. The medicine itself worked very differently for every participant that I was in ceremony with. But each and everyone of us were so well taken care of, so well loved by the staff, the shamans and all the medicine helpers at Avalon.
With each ceremony that I did I felt a deepened sense of safety and unconditional compassion from those who held space for us.
The ceremonies were held with such sacred attention and devotion. The integration circles were very well organized and timely for the processing of our experiences. All of the practitioners who offer the one on one sessions were impeccable.
The land that the retreat is held on is stunning and so is the venue. Not to mention the delicious food…
Thank you so much to everyone at Avalon for your service and for holding the container for my journey with the medicine to begin, for such beauty and connection and love to be expressed. It was a truly life-changing week. I left feeling so full of love! I hope to work with you all again 🙂

The Ceremony is well prepared and organised with the best facilitators to support and guide you through your own unique journey. Details with the setting of the atmosphere, sound and light are perfectly thought out. You can relax and trust that you will be well taken care of.
Alejandro makes sure that everyone gets the best experience whatever your intentions are. Everything is very professional from the first til last step. If you feel insecure where to have your first experience with mushrooms, you can safely start your journey here. I give my warmest recommendations and I’m definitely coming back <3

The integrative work facilitated in many ways gave a balance to an unbelievably intense process with the medicine. I was helping in the kitchen on the retreat and was also beautifully cared for. The food was amazing, the place is gorgeous , highly recommend.

From the very first moment, I felt deep trust and safety, as if I was being gently carried through the entire process by experienced, compassionate hands. I was never alone. The venue itself radiates tranquility and grounding energy. Its peaceful surroundings created the perfect container for surrender, reflection, and healing. 4 years agoMy experience at Avalon was incredible. From the moment you arrive you can feel the love, care and detail that is put into every element of your stay. It's a lovely, spacious location with a lake, trees, hammocks, horses and more. There are various activities you can choose from such as yoga, massage and dance in addition to the ceremonies. They also have an amazing chef Maria who plans out chromatic meals each day based on the colors of the chakras. It was an incredible experience that I would recommend to anyone. The entire team made me feel incredibly welcomed, loved and cared for. Big thank you to Alejandro and everyone at Avalon!

3 months agoThis was my first ayahuasca experience, and I honestly couldn’t have chosen a better place. From the very beginning, everything felt incredibly well organized. I felt safe at all times, truly cared for, and supported in a very thoughtful way. The place itself is absolutely beautiful peaceful, surrounded by nature, and very comfortable. And the food… not only delicious but also very original and clearly prepared with so much attention and love. I’m leaving deeply grateful for the whole experience. 2 months agoThis is Healing, not Recreational retreat, beware!! People who decide to go to Avalon must simply remember that before reserving a seat! This is not to have fun (although you will have fun, but with the other guests and the Avalon Crew) or during one or more of the sessions. Healing, healing: I thought I had nothing to heal, aka "I am in good shape, good health, and no known psychological or physical issue". I went there for discovery, for getting closer to my Real Self, to my Soul, and also to have some fancy travel, to be honest. Well, no "fancy travel in the stars" for me (others participants had that), no, not this time. But, gosh, all the rest was stunning. And difficult. but believe, when you lose your ego, you become the REAL you. You accept and embrace life. You are finally happy without limit.
