What is Avalon?
Avalon is a holistic healing centre in Barcelona and Ibiza (Spain), dedicated to self-discovery and profound inner journeys. Our retreats bring together the ancient wisdom of sacred medicines such as Ayahuasca, Magic Mushrooms, San Pedro, and Bufo Alvarius with modern practices of preparation, integration, and personalised care.
We follow a shamanic approach to the world of plant medicines, working with shamans from ancestral traditions of Brazil (Yawanawá, Huni Kuin, Mbyá Guaraní), Colombia (Kamëntsa, Kichwa, Pastos, Muisca, Cofán), and Peru (Quechua). Our mission is to create safe, contemporary, and refined spaces where participants can experience these medicines in the traditional Amazonian way.
With deep respect for ancestral knowledge, we complement it with tools that help non-indigenous participants gain the most from their experience and apply insights to everyday life. Preparation before the retreat builds confidence and clarity; our holistic programme introduces practices that foster wellbeing beyond the ceremony; and integration supports participants in maximising benefits while navigating any challenges that may arise afterwards.
Set and setting are two of the most critical factors in a psychedelic experience. At Avalon, safety and care are at the heart of everything we do. From the very beginning, participants are supported by a dedicated team, with a nearly one-to-one facilitator-to-guest ratio during retreats. Our team also includes a medical advisor, and we follow many of the safety guidelines recommended by ICEERS.
In adapting rituals that are not part of our own culture, we honour tradition while offering the highest level of comfort and beauty. This balance helps participants feel safe, surrender to the process, and embrace the full potential of a transformative journey.

What does a 6-day holistic Ayahuasca retreat include?
- 4 Ayahuasca ceremonies by experienced (>10 years) shamans trained in Colombia (Kamëntsa, Kichwa, Pastos, Muisca, and Cofán traditions), Peru (Quechua tradition), or Brazil (Yawanawá, Huni Kuin, Mbyá Guaraní traditions).
- 4 Rapé ceremonies (dried tobacco powder) – clearing the mind and cleansing the body and energy field, used in combination with Ayahuasca.
- 4 Integration workshops with a trained psychologist, combining diverse and creative methods, such as sharing circles, writing, art therapy, and ecstatic dance.
- 1 One-on-one integration session – Designed to bring your unique experience into your daily life and ensure lasting change.

July 16, 2022 at 7:40 amAvalon has not failed to deliver the most transcendent experience anyone could seek within the confines of a city.
This mushroom ceremony was a constellation of untapped emotions, a deep dive in to the unknown and a blend of magical melodies produced by eclectic instruments. It was an experience that brought about a lot of insight and clarity, one that once seen and felt can’t be unexperienced in the most healing way.
The event was very organized and the facilitators were very open, spirited and attuned to the participant’s needs, which created a safe and harmonious space to delve in to ones inner world and explore the shadow within.
This is definitely an experience recommended for the adventurous souls that want to expand through the exploration of dimensions within and without.

The setting in a natural, lush, tranquil and healing environment was as powerful as any medicine. The care and craft of the team was genuine and heartfelt. The dedication of the entire tribe to the healing experience made all the difference. The Cromatic chef cooking was energizing and inspiring. The music transported me to heaven. The hammocks comforted me in a womb of cocooning relaxation. The ecstatic dance with Arun Ji and breathwork with Abel were as powerful as any ayahuasca brew. The massage with Gabriel released years of somatic trauma for which I will be forever grateful. The integration with Virginie and Lala unlocked new ways of relating to myself and others. The therapy with Susy helped me come home to myself. The joyful support from Sophia made me feel safe and welcomed. A walk in the forest with Alejandro was grounding and anchoring. The whole space carries whispers of Victor’s attention to detail, precision, and attentiveness. Mama Ness comforts you like a newborn child. Paula and Olympia will uplift and transport you with their beautiful music and movement. Daniel and Xavier unlock the courage of your inner warrior and stand with you in brotherhood. Chris and Maggie guard and protect your energy, helping you reach heights you may have never thought possible and rescuing you from your darkest moments with their purest hearts and souls.

June 3, 2022 at 7:21 amI’m don’t even know where to start! This has been the most humbling and life changing experience of my life so far. The team here at Avalon are all extremely skilled healers. In their own right as indivials, but when they come together as a team the collective energy is breath taking. Everyone vibrates love at Avalon and it’s impossible not to feel love too. Simply sitting next to anyone of the practitioners, volunteers or support staff brings out a sparkle in me I didn’t even know was there! I’m so grateful for the support, guidance and if I’m honest mollycoddeling I so desperately needed. The medicine is extremely powerful, it forces you to look at yourself so that you can grow (up) and really step into your power with humility and grace. I am ready. And I couldn’t have taken a single step without the guidance of every single member of team. Special thanks to the newly engaged Maggie and Chris who worked themselves tirelessly facilitating everyone’s healing #powercouole. Of course Queen Ness, who blessed me with her Motherly Shamanic energy and invaluable advice. Danny, Xaiver (sorry for the miss spelling), Paula and Olympia who guided me through every ceremony. What a powerful familia! Of course Suzie and Gabriel who are not only extremely skilled healers but always had a kind supportive word for me when I would bump into them. Marina and team! For her healing food! Lala for teaching me about my Disney Princess . Victor for his epic smile and great advice. June 3, 2022 at 5:55 amAvalon is a place where you will feel accepted and loved no matter where you come from. I thought I was coming here with an open heart but it was the people here that showed me what having an open heart really means.
Giving all that they are with their hearts and love and skills to hopefully teach you to trust and to learn to also do this for yourself and for others.
Teaching by example, with love, unconditionally, this is what family really means.

This journey within — guided by Ayahuasca and held with such care by the incredible Avalon team and shamans — was truly profound. From the very first moment, I felt deep trust and safety, as if I was being gently carried through the entire process by experienced, compassionate hands. I was never alone. The venue itself radiates tranquility and grounding energy. Its peaceful surroundings created the perfect container for surrender, reflection, and healing. Every detail — from the space, to the program, to the way each ceremony and integration moment was thoughtfully held — supported the depth of this experience. I feel as if I moved a mountain within myself and closed a very painful chapter of my life. What unfolded went far beyond what I could have imagined. The structure of the program, combined with the additional offerings, allowed me to go deeper, softer, and more honestly into my own process. 5 months agoHonestly, I’m no beginner to ancestral medicines and shamanic processes, but what I experienced with Avalon, the depth of sincere love and care, is something I had never felt before. The journey was awe-inspiring and left me transformed for the better. I cannot thank them enough; these are people who genuinely want to elevate the world. The organization is spotless, the lady Shaman was exceptional, and lastly the food was absolutely delicious. Thank you Avalon, you truly are Love.

3 years agoMy experience at Avalon was incredible. From the moment you arrive you can feel the love, care and detail that is put into every element of your stay. It's a lovely, spacious location with a lake, trees, hammocks, horses and more. There are various activities you can choose from such as yoga, massage and dance in addition to the ceremonies. They also have an amazing chef Maria who plans out chromatic meals each day based on the colors of the chakras. It was an incredible experience that I would recommend to anyone. The entire team made me feel incredibly welcomed, loved and cared for. Big thank you to Alejandro and everyone at Avalon!

a year agoIt’s hard to put into words how amazing this place is. It’s totally not just the Ayahuasca ceremonies it’s the setting, the food, the activities, all the different alternative therapies on offer aswell as the people who run this place / work here are some of the most kind and loving people you will ever meet. I was very nervous & apprehensive about the aya ceremonies but I felt very safe and supported at all times. I had 1 ceremony that was particularly intense & Maggie sat with me for what felt like hours doing energy healing & supporting me through a very tough process. It’s a deep and heavy experience but it’s also full of love & laughter. The team here are great and I mostly had a permanent smile on my face the whole time & I am no longer scared of psychedelics I also did the Bufo which I can only describe as going to heaven for 15 minutes. It was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. It’s not a silver bullet to immediate perfection but i would say it’s one of the most healing experiences of my life & the intense night was like releasing 40 years of sadness so I now totally understand what they mean when they say it’s like 20 years of therapy in one night. I struggle to believe that there is a therapy out there that could go that deep and get that much sadness out of you. The shaman & facilitators were such beautiful people, you get a serious amount of love at this place ❤️ If your considering going to Avalon don’t hesitate just book it, you won’t regret it ❤️
