What is Avalon?
Avalon is a holistic healing centre in Barcelona and Ibiza (Spain), dedicated to self-discovery and profound inner journeys. Our retreats bring together the ancient wisdom of sacred medicines such as Ayahuasca, Magic Mushrooms, San Pedro, and Bufo Alvarius with modern practices of preparation, integration, and personalised care.
We follow a shamanic approach to the world of plant medicines, working with shamans from ancestral traditions of Brazil (Yawanawá, Huni Kuin, Mbyá Guaraní), Colombia (Kamëntsa, Kichwa, Pastos, Muisca, Cofán), and Peru (Quechua). Our mission is to create safe, contemporary, and refined spaces where participants can experience these medicines in the traditional Amazonian way.
With deep respect for ancestral knowledge, we complement it with tools that help non-indigenous participants gain the most from their experience and apply insights to everyday life. Preparation before the retreat builds confidence and clarity; our holistic programme introduces practices that foster wellbeing beyond the ceremony; and integration supports participants in maximising benefits while navigating any challenges that may arise afterwards.
Set and setting are two of the most critical factors in a psychedelic experience. At Avalon, safety and care are at the heart of everything we do. From the very beginning, participants are supported by a dedicated team, with a nearly one-to-one facilitator-to-guest ratio during retreats. Our team also includes a medical advisor, and we follow many of the safety guidelines recommended by ICEERS.
In adapting rituals that are not part of our own culture, we honour tradition while offering the highest level of comfort and beauty. This balance helps participants feel safe, surrender to the process, and embrace the full potential of a transformative journey.

What does a 6-day holistic Ayahuasca retreat include?
- 4 Ayahuasca ceremonies by experienced (>10 years) shamans trained in Colombia (Kamëntsa, Kichwa, Pastos, Muisca, and Cofán traditions), Peru (Quechua tradition), or Brazil (Yawanawá, Huni Kuin, Mbyá Guaraní traditions).
- 4 Rapé ceremonies (dried tobacco powder) – clearing the mind and cleansing the body and energy field, used in combination with Ayahuasca.
- 4 Integration workshops with a trained psychologist, combining diverse and creative methods, such as sharing circles, writing, art therapy, and ecstatic dance.
- 1 One-on-one integration session – Designed to bring your unique experience into your daily life and ensure lasting change.

I feel grateful to the Avalon family and their founder, Alejandro. The organization was impeccable: a bright silent and cosy environment with quality and varied music. It breathed out an atmosphere of real peace and tranquility. It was an intense journey where I felt supported and taken care of lovingly by the family in a safe space. As the days progressed after the ceremony I felt a clarity of mind and a sharpening of the senses as if I felt more intuitively present in life and I could feel with revived energy what a gift it was to be alive. July 16, 2022 at 7:40 amAvalon has not failed to deliver the most transcendent experience anyone could seek within the confines of a city.
This mushroom ceremony was a constellation of untapped emotions, a deep dive in to the unknown and a blend of magical melodies produced by eclectic instruments. It was an experience that brought about a lot of insight and clarity, one that once seen and felt can’t be unexperienced in the most healing way.
The event was very organized and the facilitators were very open, spirited and attuned to the participant’s needs, which created a safe and harmonious space to delve in to ones inner world and explore the shadow within.
This is definitely an experience recommended for the adventurous souls that want to expand through the exploration of dimensions within and without.

4 years agoMy experience at Avalon was incredible. From the moment you arrive you can feel the love, care and detail that is put into every element of your stay. It's a lovely, spacious location with a lake, trees, hammocks, horses and more. There are various activities you can choose from such as yoga, massage and dance in addition to the ceremonies. They also have an amazing chef Maria who plans out chromatic meals each day based on the colors of the chakras. It was an incredible experience that I would recommend to anyone. The entire team made me feel incredibly welcomed, loved and cared for. Big thank you to Alejandro and everyone at Avalon!

3 months agoThis was my first ayahuasca experience, and I honestly couldn’t have chosen a better place. From the very beginning, everything felt incredibly well organized. I felt safe at all times, truly cared for, and supported in a very thoughtful way. The place itself is absolutely beautiful peaceful, surrounded by nature, and very comfortable. And the food… not only delicious but also very original and clearly prepared with so much attention and love. I’m leaving deeply grateful for the whole experience. 2 months agoThis is Healing, not Recreational retreat, beware!! People who decide to go to Avalon must simply remember that before reserving a seat! This is not to have fun (although you will have fun, but with the other guests and the Avalon Crew) or during one or more of the sessions. Healing, healing: I thought I had nothing to heal, aka "I am in good shape, good health, and no known psychological or physical issue". I went there for discovery, for getting closer to my Real Self, to my Soul, and also to have some fancy travel, to be honest. Well, no "fancy travel in the stars" for me (others participants had that), no, not this time. But, gosh, all the rest was stunning. And difficult. but believe, when you lose your ego, you become the REAL you. You accept and embrace life. You are finally happy without limit.
