What is Avalon?
Avalon is a holistic healing centre in Barcelona and Ibiza (Spain), dedicated to self-discovery and profound inner journeys. Our retreats bring together the ancient wisdom of sacred medicines such as Ayahuasca, Magic Mushrooms, San Pedro, and Bufo Alvarius with modern practices of preparation, integration, and personalised care.
We follow a shamanic approach to the world of plant medicines, working with shamans from ancestral traditions of Brazil (Yawanawá, Huni Kuin, Mbyá Guaraní), Colombia (Kamëntsa, Kichwa, Pastos, Muisca, Cofán), and Peru (Quechua). Our mission is to create safe, contemporary, and refined spaces where participants can experience these medicines in the traditional Amazonian way.
With deep respect for ancestral knowledge, we complement it with tools that help non-indigenous participants gain the most from their experience and apply insights to everyday life. Preparation before the retreat builds confidence and clarity; our holistic programme introduces practices that foster wellbeing beyond the ceremony; and integration supports participants in maximising benefits while navigating any challenges that may arise afterwards.
Set and setting are two of the most critical factors in a psychedelic experience. At Avalon, safety and care are at the heart of everything we do. From the very beginning, participants are supported by a dedicated team, with a nearly one-to-one facilitator-to-guest ratio during retreats. Our team also includes a medical advisor, and we follow many of the safety guidelines recommended by ICEERS.
In adapting rituals that are not part of our own culture, we honour tradition while offering the highest level of comfort and beauty. This balance helps participants feel safe, surrender to the process, and embrace the full potential of a transformative journey.

What does a 6-day holistic Ayahuasca retreat include?
- 4 Ayahuasca ceremonies by experienced (>10 years) shamans trained in Colombia (Kamëntsa, Kichwa, Pastos, Muisca, and Cofán traditions), Peru (Quechua tradition), or Brazil (Yawanawá, Huni Kuin, Mbyá Guaraní traditions).
- 4 Rapé ceremonies (dried tobacco powder) – clearing the mind and cleansing the body and energy field, used in combination with Ayahuasca.
- 4 Integration workshops with a trained psychologist, combining diverse and creative methods, such as sharing circles, writing, art therapy, and ecstatic dance.
- 1 One-on-one integration session – Designed to bring your unique experience into your daily life and ensure lasting change.

I felt in an incredibly safe space and the team are so incredibly nuturing and caring. Both the pre and post retreat support is fantastic and everything from the food, accommodation, ceremonies and integration are meticulously planned with so much professionalism attention and love. I can’t thank the Avalon family enough for such a life transformative experience. Thank you with all my heart.

January 9, 2022 at 9:58 pmRecently I attended an Ayahuasca retreat at Avalon and the experience was divine. That is the best word to describe it.
The location was incredibly beautiful. A location usually used as a wedding venue so the frequency of love and sacred union could be felt. The spirits of the land where also present and such loving hosts. There was so much space to be, and also to walk around in nature to integrate your journeys.
The Ayahuasca journeys where held by this Divine Feminine goddess called Ness who held space like no other. And a team of the most divine facilitators who made me feel so safe, guided, protected, loved and cared for.
And the organization and assistance was fantastic, there is about as much staff as participants so you are truly taken care of in any way possible. There are amazing integration coaches there to assist you through your process and you can also have massages and other holistic healing sessions, everything to make your healing process as profound as possible.
Lastly the food was incredible, I personally struggled a bit with cooking during the Ayahuasca diet so to see the incredible creations of Marina the chef who managed to create so many flavors using only pure and healthy ingredients even in a chakra theme, was an absolute treasure.
I don’t think I have ever felt this much unconditional love in my whole life. I recommend this place to anyone who feels the calling to try Ayahuasca. It’s a true gift to your being!

Even before I booked or paid anything the support and guidance that I received from Avalon was incredible, and this only got better once I arrived. It is very clear from my experience that everyone at Avalon loves what they do, and they genuinely love people and love helping people.
I’ve never been on a retreat where I felt that the people behind running the retreat really genuinely cared about the retreatants and their experience so much. Every detail was carefully thought about and planned, so that we could all have the best experience that we could with the medicines, and that we felt safe throughout.
I cannot thank Avalon enough for all of their incredible work, and would strongly recommend them to anyone interested in an Ayahuasca retreat. I would especially recommend Avalon to anyone who has never experienced Ayahuasca or other plant medicines before, as they are super accommodating of first times and people who are new to it.

December 20, 2021 at 9:20 amMy experience as Avalon’s volunteer was really intense and interesting: the days that I helped in the kitchen were hard but I learned a lot about food, cooking and serving others. The days off I could relax, learn and work with myself with the help of the ayahuasca.
The environment is amazing and I really enjoy other activities like the breath work!
I was lucky because the kitchen team and the chef (Marina) were so kind and we worked together really good.

From the very first moment, I felt deep trust and safety, as if I was being gently carried through the entire process by experienced, compassionate hands. I was never alone. The venue itself radiates tranquility and grounding energy. Its peaceful surroundings created the perfect container for surrender, reflection, and healing. 4 years agoMy experience at Avalon was incredible. From the moment you arrive you can feel the love, care and detail that is put into every element of your stay. It's a lovely, spacious location with a lake, trees, hammocks, horses and more. There are various activities you can choose from such as yoga, massage and dance in addition to the ceremonies. They also have an amazing chef Maria who plans out chromatic meals each day based on the colors of the chakras. It was an incredible experience that I would recommend to anyone. The entire team made me feel incredibly welcomed, loved and cared for. Big thank you to Alejandro and everyone at Avalon!

3 months agoThis was my first ayahuasca experience, and I honestly couldn’t have chosen a better place. From the very beginning, everything felt incredibly well organized. I felt safe at all times, truly cared for, and supported in a very thoughtful way. The place itself is absolutely beautiful peaceful, surrounded by nature, and very comfortable. And the food… not only delicious but also very original and clearly prepared with so much attention and love. I’m leaving deeply grateful for the whole experience. 2 months agoThis is Healing, not Recreational retreat, beware!! People who decide to go to Avalon must simply remember that before reserving a seat! This is not to have fun (although you will have fun, but with the other guests and the Avalon Crew) or during one or more of the sessions. Healing, healing: I thought I had nothing to heal, aka "I am in good shape, good health, and no known psychological or physical issue". I went there for discovery, for getting closer to my Real Self, to my Soul, and also to have some fancy travel, to be honest. Well, no "fancy travel in the stars" for me (others participants had that), no, not this time. But, gosh, all the rest was stunning. And difficult. but believe, when you lose your ego, you become the REAL you. You accept and embrace life. You are finally happy without limit.
