At Sapan Inka, we believe participating in an Ayahuasca retreat is a powerful opportunity for profound energetic and spiritual cleansing and healing. An Ayahuasca experience can be immensely favorable for those embarking on a journey of transformation and spiritual development. Our unique model is a conscious synthesis of the millenary wisdom of Amazonian medicine and the principles of depth and transpersonal psychology. We are not a center for spiritual tourism or mere Ayahuasca experiences; we are a dedicated space for exploring the deep psyche, practicing ancestral Amazonian medicine, and supporting transformative processes.
We distinguish ourselves through our philosophy of minimal interference and the unwavering shamanic and spiritual support provided in our ceremonies. Our commitment to ethics and professionalism is paramount. We believe an Ayahuasca ceremony is an opening to the reality of the soul and a world of sacred images. For this reason, we practice minimal interference during your experience of expanded states of consciousness, allowing the healing intelligence of Ayahuasca and your own inner being to guide the process. This is not abandonment or a lack of warmth; it is a conscious act of respect and trust in your innate capacity to heal and in the divine power of the medicine itself.
The transformative power of Ayahuasca is fully realized through a structured integration process. At Sapan Inka, our psychotherapeutic integration is more than a simple conversation; it is a rigorous process designed to help you assimilate, process, and effectively integrate your experiences. We provide a space for you to understand the intricate symbolic language of your visions, converting profound insights into tangible and lasting change. This is how the spiritual revelations from the ceremonies are bridged with your daily life, ensuring the journey leads to genuine personal growth.
To navigate this journey, rigorous preparation is essential. An Ayahuasca experience can be incredibly challenging, and its potency demands thorough mental, emotional, and spiritual readiness. It is crucial for participants to understand that this is not a shortcut, but a deep and profound inner work that requires commitment and maturity.
Given the serious nature of our work, we are aware that our approach may not satisfy everyone’s expectations. Those who seek a more superficial, less confrontational experience or group activities may find other centers more suitable. Our model is designed for individuals committed to holistic healing and willing to embark on a serious psychospiritual path. This is why our groups are intentionally small, to ensure the personalized and ethical attention that is the cornerstone of our years of experience and dedication.
At Sapan Inka, our commitment is to support you on your journey, respecting the authenticity of your process and providing a safe and professional environment for a genuine transformation.

June 3, 2024 at 11:07 pmI attended the 8-day retreat at Sapan Inka in June 2023, which included three ayahuasca ceremonies, one San Pedro ceremony, and a trip to Machu Picchu. My experience at Sapan Inka was truly remarkable. Erik and Nilda are extraordinary individuals who radiate an incredibly beautiful energy (really, words can not describe it).
Despite not feeling much from two of the three ayahuasca ceremonies, I believe I greatly benefited from the retreat. The final ceremony provided the profound experience I needed. The retreat’s calming environment offered a perfect space for self-reflection and introspection, which is crucial in such a transformative process.
I had my own room and was very comfortable throughout my stay. Although taking ayahuasca can be very scary, I felt very safe at the retreat. One aspect I would have appreciated was slightly longer ceremonies, as they felt a bit short.
One of the highlights was the post-ceremony discussions with Erik the next day. These conversations were incredibly insightful and helped me process and integrate my experiences.
Additionally, the presence of their two dogs and cat added to the comforting and homely atmosphere, making the stay at Sapan Inka even more enjoyable.
The San Pedro ceremony at the end of the retreat was a beautiful conclusion, providing a great sense of closure. I highly recommend Sapan Inka.

May 31, 2024 at 1:30 pmI don’t think there are actually any words that can capture something that is so sacred and precious as an Ayahuasca experience but this is how usually reviews are conducted and I’m here to do the same 😛 Me embarking into that Ayahuasca journey was a pretty bold, if not naive, decision given that my experience with psychedelics was almost close to zero. Now I can only say it was the most revelatory experience of my life and I’m deeply grateful to Erik and Nilda, this lovely couple who runs the retreat, for making that possible.
I did the 7 days retreat including 3 Ayahuasca sessions and 1 San Pedro ceremony and I’m actually very happy that I eventually went with that cause it was that 3rd Ayahuasca session that took me by the hand and showed me something magical. For some time there I was in touch with some divine force yet it felt so real and so compelling and profound that I now firmly believe that what is actually perceivable and conceivable by our brain goes way beyond what we experience on average on a day-to-day basis.
At this point I would like to emphasize that probably the most important element that can play a key role in this whole experience and a valuable takeaway for me is that in order to get the best out of it one should be willing to completely let go and immerse into the trip no matter how scary or disturbing it can be. Trust and invite that loving energy building up inside and around you to show you the way. Resisting it or creating expectations that then during the trip you impatiently expect to be fulfilled has just the opposite effect and I’m saying this from my personal experience. Setting a clear intention yes but then completely open up to it and go wherever it takes you.
That said, Erik and NIlda’s presence and how much I felt their warmth and their kindness from the very first moment and how deeply I felt I could trust them played a crucial role in me eventually opening up and surrendering more and more to the experience as we were going through the sessions. Nilda is probably one of the sweetest people I’ve met in my life. She was like a mom to us cooking all kinds of nutritious and delicious meals and being always there to listen to us and make us feel loved and nurtured. Erik was like this wise guardian that you know he will have your back no matter what goes down during the ceremony. He has so much joy and love in his heart and you really feel that when you sit down and talk with him and there are a lot of of these talks both before as well as after the ceremonies where he helps you integrate and learn even more from the experience.
All in all I cannot stress enough how uniquely transformative an Ayahuasca experience can be and I wholeheartedly suggest anyone that you let Erik and Nilda guide you on this journey in their own gracious and loving way. Their beautiful chanting and how just focusing on that completely steered the experience for me during that 3rd session is something that I will carry with so much love in my heart for the rest of my life!

May 26, 2024 at 5:29 pmI participated in a 6 day retreat in April 2024, along with 6 other spiritual seekers, two of whom were friends and fellow travelers going in, but we all became friends through this experience. It was truly transformative in a beautiful peaceful setting, and Erik and Nilda were amazing hosts, along with 2 dogs and a cat who share the house and guard the space. We participated in 2 ayahuasca ceremonies and 1 San Pedro ceremony. Erik’s approach was masterful, making the ayahuasca a bit lighter the first night to gauge the response of each individual in the group, and then the second night preparing everyone with the light therapy and a stronger ayahuasca to facilitate a deeper experience. Erik and Nilda truly act as energy guides throughout the ceremony so that everyone stays engaged but safe and supported.
A few practical “know before you go” items: it is quite cold at night and in the temple, lying on the ground, and there is no fire or heat source in the temple. Dress warmly and in layers and be prepared. There is also no heat in the house, despite temperatures dropping below 40 F some nights. You cannot drink the water from the tap, so bringing some drinking water with you might be helpful to supplement as needed, especially since fasting between ceremonies is an integral part of this process. Nilda’s cooking is amazing and exactly what your body needs, but know that you will be going long periods of time without eating. Definitely bring a journal and any spiritual reading materials you want to spend time with during rest periods. The expectation that the balance due on our stay at the retreat should be paid in cash was also not made clear in advance, so it is important to plan for this. Our hosts did a masterful job of planning our excursion to Machu Picchu, hiring drivers to take us to the train station and a guide to meet us on the other end who took us to the bus, toured us around the site and then took us to a very late lunch afterwards. Everything worked seamlessly except for the fact that we did not know lunch would be at 5pm. The transportation from Cusco to the guest house and back is done with local drivers on their schedule and is not flexible, so be prepared to find a space to relax until they can pick you up at 3pm in Cusco. We were able to do this in the garden/lobby area of the hotel we planned to stay at when our retreat ended. We were very happy to get back there for hot showers at the end of the week!
Compared to our experience with ayahuasca in the United States in a larger group of about 40, this was a much more intimate and personal experience with 1:1 integration with Erik, and we appreciated the thought and care put into how the retreat is crafted. I would definitely go back, and I think the 7 of us are all trying to figure out how to have a reunion retreat next year!

May 25, 2024 at 11:19 amOur experience with Eric and Nilda at Sapan Inka Retreat was a very positive one.
We were greeted with smiles on arrival, a very comfortable bed and a spacious room with a private bathroom.
These simple comforts supported us in having a soft safe place to land after the Ayahuasca ceremonies.
Nilda prepared with love, tasty high vibrational and appropriate meals to accommodate each step we took during our stay.
Eric and Nilda had a well-run, caring and flexible itinerary that allows everyone to experience in their own way, with all the support they may need.
Our experience was transformative, giving us a clearer picture of where our path will lead in the future. The bonuses were the friendly greetings from the two affectionate dogs and cat always looking for a pat.
Each ceremony was performed professionally by Erik and Nilda. The Sharman and the Sound healing specialists came with great talents that made our experience during the San Pedro ceremony exceptional.
Thank you, Nilda and Eric for providing a safe place for us to explore a higher level of consciousness, opening the doorway to new beginnings and supporting more positive behaviour in our present moment and future adventures.

May 3, 2024 at 4:14 pmMy husband and I had a beautiful experience at Sapan Inka in October of 2023. This was my first time doing ayahuasca, and I could not have had a better experience. Erik and Nilda were so welcoming and kind. The accommodations were great- we had a private room and bathroom. The grounds and temple were lovely. The food delicious. I experienced immense healing, and remain grateful for the experience. I would love to return one day. They close the ceremony earlier than some other retreats which gives you time alone in your experience. At first I felt fear around this, but much of my deep healing happened in the privacy of our room. I felt safe and in good hands the entire retreat.
