    Mushuk Pakarina,
Recently finished a 7 day Master Plant Dieta with Maestro Orlando at Mushu Pakarina and it was absolutely the best thing I have ever done in my entire life! The center is rustic and as close to nature as you can get. I received a warm loving welcome from the entire team and I immediately felt like a member of the family, everyone welcomed me with open arms. The food before and after the dieta was well prepared and delicious. The shower and toilet were well cleaned and fresh. The time in isolation can hardly be described in words, the first few days were scary at first until I realized that that is exactly what it is meant to be, a big part of the training, dealing with your fear. Orlando is an amazing person with pure love and care, a lot of humor and a depth without end and a wisdom and knowledge that feels infinite, and the energy he radiates is indescribable! He came to visit me several times a day to check on my general condition, and we had deep conversations about the meaning of life and how to best develop and become a better, stronger person. My new insights into life are fundamental and very transformative! I learned to deal with my fears and come to peace, I now literally know what it means to be in the present with myself and nature, and it is an absolutely fantastic feeling of freedom and peace that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. I feel like a completely new person and stronger than ever in both body and soul.
Of many things, I learned that the more desires and fears you learn to deal with, the more whole and free you feel..
Now the work of integrating my new knowledge into my everyday life remains and I am so much looking forward to it.
    Todo Esta En Ti
I will definitely come back and continue this important work.
All love to Maestro Orlando and his team at Mushuk Pakarina!
    Lillemor❤️

Just returned from the magical and sacred place called Mushuk Pakarina, a center of ancestral wisdom dedicated to dieta and healing, guided by the legendary Maestro Orlando.

This post is both a tribute to Maestro Orlando and a shout-out to Aubrey Marcus, who introduced me to Ayahuasca 10 years ago through his first documentary featuring Maestro Orlando. That film opened the door to understanding Ayahuasca for me.

While this recent documentary is incredible, it can be a bit confusing for those who want to experience the work with Maestro Orlando, as this documentary was filmed at Soltara, a 5-star retreat in Costa Rica. Soltara is a place where many Westerners, drawn to the more sensational side of Ayahuasca, go. There’s no right or wrong way to approach this, only what feels right for you—and Soltara can be the perfect fit for some.

However, Mushuk Pakarina is not your typical Ayahuasca retreat. It’s definitely not a luxury, 5-star center with organized activities where you treat it like a holiday. No offense to those places (I’ll likely experience one eventually), but this time, I wanted something traditional—and I got everything I hoped for. Here, it’s raw, authentic, and deeply traditional. It’s the real work. This is a place of true connection, far removed from Western standards, where you devote yourself fully to the plants, the spirits, the jungle, and Maestro Orlando.

The week centers around a Master Plant dieta —a unique shamanic practice that involves living in isolation in the rainforest, following strict rules to purify your body, mind, and spirit, in order to connect with the spirit of a Master Plant. While Ayahuasca is part of the experience, it’s merely a complement to the Master Plant that Maestro Orlando selects for you after the first ceremony.

The next day, you go into total isolation in the jungle, with no distractions aside from the breathtaking beauty of nature. You begin the Master Plant dieta, which lasts for 5 nights, with two additional Ayahuasca ceremonies taking place in between. All ceremonies are held while you’re still alone in the jungle.

It’s important to understand that when you step onto Orlando’s land, you’re entering sacred ground at the edge of the Amazon rainforest. This is no casual retreat—this is the most serious work you will ever do on yourself. While Orlando is one of the funniest, most confidence-inspiring people you’ll meet, you have to respect his rules and completely surrender to his traditional ways. He comes from a long lineage of curanderos and was raised by his grandfather, who put him through his first dieta at the age of 11—for an entire year. Needless to say, Orlando knows exactly what he’s doing. Even when you’re alone in the jungle, you can feel his positive energy everywhere. And when I say “feel,” I mean you can literally sense it in the air.

Although all of this might sound intense (and it is), it’s also one of the most profound and life-changing experiences you could ever have. There’s something about being alone in the jungle with just a bed and a hammock, barely talking to anyone apart from Orlando twice a day, with little food, and ingesting powerful plants that grow within you. Your mind races at 100,000 miles per second, and the work penetrates so deeply, peeling back layers of yourself until you reach that place of enlightenment—where an idea born in the unconscious finally blossoms into the conscious mind. The effects are long-lasting and deeply transformative.

Infinite gratitude to Maestro Orlando and his incredible team—you have changed my life, and I will be forever grateful. Hasta la próxima.

I hope this review will Also helps guide the readers in finding their own path.

    Mushuk Pakarina

I am so honoured to have had this experience doing this work with Maestro Orlando. I was part of a group that spent one week at his, participating in Ayahuasca ceremonies and dieta of chiric sanango. This was the most transformative experience of my entire life. It felt as if everything i had ever done was leading to this portal. Maestro Orlando is so powerful and legendary! In his presence you will feel how connected he is to all that is from his heart. He comes from a lineage of powerful and well respected shamans – this you can tell, as he holds the codes for legendary levels of work with these sacred medicines. It was of importance to me that i felt i was in safe hands of an authentic, powerful shaman. Maestro Orlando is this and so much more – he is so pure, humble and i have never felt more at peace with another being. If you ever get the chance to work with him, you are blessed <3

Mushuk Pakarina is a retreat in which you will experience the rawness of the Amazon and traditional practise of Ayahuasca. This place is not for those who are not in devotion to their evolutionary expansion. This is a place of true connection away from any Western cultural standards. The facilities are clean and well-kept. At the main centre there are cabins with beds including mosquito nets, bathrooms, kitchen and ceremonial hut. When given food, his family made delicious meals! During the dieta there were periods of fasting and when there was food it was simple and aligned to the medicines. Maestro Orlando conducts isolated ceremonies in which you stay in a Tambo in the jungle (i’ve included a picture of this). This was the best part of the experience for me, as it allowed me to go in deep as there are less energetic fields interacting – although the group ceremony was such a beautiful experience as well. During this isolation i still felt so held energetically by Maestro Orlando. His energy is truly powerful and he is always holding the space.

Maestro Orlando held such a beautiful space for our group. Everything was handled with care and love, always. The land in which this is conducted on is so sacred. If you ever are here, please gift yourself and just listen to the sounds – it is so beautiful. I am so honoured and in gratitude to this experience. Thank you Orlando, his family, my group and mother Ayahuasca <3

Mushuk Pakarina – Pure alchemy and transformation of your lifetime

Our group of 8 people visited Mushuk Pakarina and Maestro Orlando Chujandama for one week of ayahuasca and plant medicine dieta recently. I am writing this detailed review with photos because I found there weren’t any proper or recent reviews for this beautiful space. So when I decided to visit last month, I was nearly taking a gamble to choose this centre. I am so grateful that I trusted my intuition and chose this place for our group. It was one of the most alchemical and transformative experiences of our lives, and everyone in the group had such profound breakthroughs beyond measure. Maestro Orlando is a genuine legend who is incredibly humble, and we feel honoured to have had this opportunity to do this work with him. He’s like a walking field of pure heart energy. If you feel drawn to this centre, you are lucky to align with this opportunity for your life. Finding a genuine and authentic shaman is of utmost importance, and you find yourself one here. Mushuk Pakarina is not like the other touristy commercial retreats that you find all over South America with fluffy new age western influences. This centre is real, raw, traditional and powerful. It is for those who are serious about evolution. This is probably why you don’t see many reviews, most of the visitors are not really the type of people who sit at home and leave online reviews. Neither am I – but I wanted to be of assistance to those who are looking for real feedback about this centre.

There can be group ceremonies, but Maestro Orlando also supports you to take isolated ceremonies in his jungle Tambos that consists of a single bed, mosquito net, and hammock under a natural roof. There are many of these Tambo stations for each person throughout his plot of land in the jungle. Personally, I found these isolation sessions to be the most valuable part of all. As an introvert, I love to have my own space for the journey in solitude. When not in solitude, there are also cabin rooms in the main lodge.

During dieta there are periods of intermittent fasting for purification purposes, but it was very manageable. When breaking fast during the dieta, the food was simple and clean, plenty, and always prepared with care. Before and after your dieta, his family cooks you amazing food with local organic ingredients. The accommodations and facilities, although not luxurious, are all clean, well-maintained and functional. There are multiple showers and bathrooms. Most importantly, your living is blended in harmonically with nature. This land at Mushuk Pakarina is pristine, peaceful, and harbours a private river with the most beautiful energy. I will return here again and again.

I saw that there is one spiritually immature person spreading negative rumours on websites and comments who clearly wasn’t prepared to handle the entire experience. Again, this particular retreat is for advanced spiritual seekers, not beginners.

One heartfelt suggestion for you, when you choose the retreat dates here, do yourself a favour and spend a couple days before and after in Tarapoto so you can have time for both grounding and integration. Tarapoto is an hour flight from Lima which is the main airport for most foreigners, so it would be ideal not to be around all the hectic airport or the city vibes of Lima for at least a couple days before and after your dieta. There are many beautiful Amazonian lodges in Tarapoto you can find online. I wrote in this review the things that I wish I had more information about the centre before I visited, I hope it helps you. Best of luck to you, I sincerely hope you enjoy this experience and wish you the transformation of your lifetime.

Fraud alert: Maestro Orlando Chujandama, “the dragon of the jungle”

Hi. I just left a “retreat” at Orlando’s camp called Mushak Pakarina. This is a stern warning to everyone interested in seeing this man Orlando Chujandama, the dragon of the jungle. I watched Aubrey Marcus film and immediately thought this is the Shaman I want to see. I tracked him down and scheduled 1 week at a cost of $2000. This was expensive but I thought I was in good hands. Boy was I wrong. This man may have once been good but he’s now a fake shaman, a charlatan and a fraud.

When I arrived at his camp I was taken back by how run down this place was. This place is literally falling apart. Not what you’d expect for a $2000 a week retreat. I chalked it up to an “authentic” experience and got ready for the first ceremony. It was only me there so I thought this was going to be great. He put on his whites and we went into his hut and he blew some smoke around then gave me the Aya. It was watery and tasted and smelled like an old fermented stout. I thought I was in for it. An hour goes by. He whistled one ikaro. Then went outside for a few. I’m laying there waiting for something but nothing comes. He asks if I’m feeling the medicine, I tell him not a thing. He gives me another cup. I wait another 1/2 hour. He whistled the same ikaro. Still nothing. He says ceremony over. So I go to my room that night in the main hut upstairs. Total dump. I lay down. I spit up the potion in a bucket and went to sleep totally sober wondering if I’d been scammed. But I couldnt have because of Aubrey Marcus video, right? Went to sleep and figured tomorrow would be better.

When I woke up he says today you go to isolation where you’ll be the rest of the week. We walk about a 1/4 mile thru the jungle past a bunch of dilapidated huts with no walls and thatched roof and finally get to the hut at the end where he had a mattress and bug net over the bed and he says this is where you’re going to be this whole week. You can go to the bathroom back at the camp and swim in the river he says. He says no food for you and gives me a drink from a small coconut with chiric sonoago. It gave me the chills all day. I was starving. I haven’t eaten in 2 days. He has no food to eat. I passed the time and went to sleep. Very hard to do that with a torrential downpour and insects everywhere.

I woke up to him bringing me a warm plantain in a cup. This was all I ate for 3 days. This is now becoming a punishment. I decided to push on thru as he was the shaman and knew best. Boy was I wrong. He said there was a ceremony tonight but we are not going to do it in the ceremony hut, instead I’m going to drink the Aya alone at my bed in the jungle. I thought this was rather strange because if I had a bat trip or something I was alone in the jungle. In the afternoon he tells me he’s going to town to eat and he will be back. I was waiting for him and he finally shows up at 7. He proceeds to sit down and ask if I want to do the ceremony, then he gets on his Whatsapp and complains that the service is shitty and he can’t respond to all the people that want to come for a dieta. He then grabs his coke bottle with the watery sauce in it and we walk out to the tent wearing his boxers. He pours me a cup and I lay down and he leaves. He says he will be sending his energy from his hut, lol. I wait an hour and nothing. Now I’m pissed and hungry AF and over it. I walk back to the hut and he’s getting drunk and watching shit on his phone. I tell him I’m leaving in the morning and I’m over it. He says no, have another cup. He then takes another bottle out and pours a full cup of something much thicker, almost like oatmeal. The concentrate. And gives it to me. Now I don’t trust him one bit. I took a small sip and walked a 1/4 mile thru the dark jungle with a flashlight. The fact that he was pouring watered down Aya that has zero affect was running me the wrong way and I was in the wrong headspace because I can’t trust this man and now he just tried to dose me a hero dose and send me off by my self in the fucking jungle. Anyhow, the amount I drank was fine and I had a delightful time in spite of the fake shaman. Had I drank the full cup, God only knows where I’d be wandering around..

When I got up this morning I packed up and left. I saw him in the village across the river and told him I’m out. He says I had vision last night, isolation is good for you. Lol. This man is a total joke and I’ve seen him for what he is. The is a fraud that is using his 15 min of fame from Aubrey to take advantage of people looking for a shaman they can trust. This mans idea of ceremony is to pass around watered down aya that he knows will have zero affect on you but still go thru the motions. Then give you the lethal dose when you call him out on it, all the while wearing his underwear and drinking a bottle of red wine. I’ve been fooled before and perhaps it will happen again, but none of you people need to give your money to this fraud.
