Our mission is to provide a safe, honest and sincere space for people of all walks of life to come and heal. We believe in the combined power of plant medicine, Umbanda, and emotional vulnerability. These key elements are the fertile soil for beautiful transformation to occur in our lives!

Maharani Medicine first opened its doors in 2018– since then, we have served at over 140 retreats. We are proud to be a culturally diverse hub for seekers of all kinds. We are honored to be of service to anyone with a desire to grow, learn and heal regardless of background, age or creed. Working closely with our teachers in Hawaii and Brazil we provide a space of tradition but also flexibility to suit the needs of every person and group that we serve. We humbly walk this path as students of life, seekers of change, and owners of our actions.

Here are some things that set us apart from other groups:

Our groups are ALWAYS intimate & small. We will never serve a group larger than ten people. This fosters a sense of community between participants & staff, creating a safe, familial atmosphere.
We keep a supportive staff-to-participant ratio so we can all feel fully supported in this intense journey. We strive to have 3-4 facilitators on board in addition to our Medicine Leaders. Our team members are humble volunteers with ample personal experience with plant medicine. Each facilitator brings their own unique abilities to retreats.
Our medicine is brewed with love, prayer, tradition and integrity, sourcing high quality materials from sustainable sources from Central America. All of our medicines are sent from our teachers in Brazil and Hawaii.
The most important part of any medicine experience is Integration. Integration means applying the lessons learned during ceremony to everyday life. Integration is what separates recreational use of medicines from ceremonial & intentional use! It is very important we honor ourselves and our medicines in this way. We offer multiple integration circles, one on one sessions during the weekend and also provide supportive resources for our participants when they go home.
Our Guides have been taught how to activate and amplify the Medicine through presence and music. Many Plant Medicine traditions suggest that music is the vessel which carries the ceremonial energy. The music harmonizes with the medicine and serves as a “Lighthouse” that helps each participant navigate their internal shadows & light alike, and to call upon our allies both in nature and in spirit to assist us in our development. The music serves as a compass to bring us back our hearts. Whether it be traditional pontos, the call of the flute or powerful icaros (medicine songs), the music, prayer, and spirits will be an ally to those who are present with their transformation.
We are officially non-profit & church. Spirituality is very important to us, but we will never be dogmatic in our beliefs. While our ceremonies are spiritually based, they are very universalist as well. Folks with secular beliefs will not have issues connecting to the ceremony experience.
It can feel extremely overwhelming to find the right practitioner, modality or healing space when we live in such a fast-paced world. We are happy to provide a simple, organic and humble space where you can just be yourself. We believe that everyone is a student in this space— we are all apart of the same universal chain of interconnectedness! Our Retreats are for you if…

You are looking for a retreat that is not overwhelming in size (2-10 participants)
You are seeking a supportive community to connect with in the long-term— Whether it be for integration, friendship, spirituality or medicinal purposes!
You are unable to travel to South America or commit to a longer term retreat.
You feel a profound urge to become a better human, work on trauma, process challenging emotions, foster a deeper connection with Nature or expand your relationship with Spirit/Source/The Universe.

We are a “mobile ministry”. This means that we split our time between Upstate New York and the high desert of Arizona. We feel the call to be in service to both sides of this country. We also hope to someday soon travel to other states and offer our retreats in more locations.

For our New York offerings, we have a beautiful property in the woods that we hold our retreats in. We are blessed with 60 acres of forest land, with hiking trails, waterfalls and a large pond. It is completely remote, and a perfect opportunity to give yourself to solitude. Because we host small retreats, we are able to offer a tenderness and care that births an intimacy of relationship. The better we know you the more we can curate the experience to your needs and ultimately the more you will get out of the experience.

Our vision is to become compassionate, pure, healthy, and unconditionally loving people. Through prayer, meditation and the foundational support of our ancestors and their medicines, we humbly walk this path.

In a world shrouded by illusion, our Medicine bursts through the shadows as a shining light. We call upon the guidance of our sacred plant teachers to shed hardened layers around our heart built by the suffering we have endured.

Through dance and song, we shatter resistance keeping us from a righteous and all pervading Spiritual Relationship with life. Our ancient Amazonian Medicine combined with communal celebration yields profound healing for our selves and the entire planet.

We strongly believe in the Great Spirit that dwells within all living beings. This Spirit is alive, deeply caring and calling us home to the Present Moment. We embrace all religions and creeds. All roads lead to the same One, loving and ever-present Being.

Our Mission is to provide a sacred container, as well as education and support for those who are called to Plant Medicine. Ceremony is a state of mind that can embraced every single moment of our lives. We seek to help others cultivate this way of being through integrating spiritual experience.

We also believe that human connection is a powerful gateway to the soul. Maharani Medicine offers a community space for all people to share and grow.

What a wonderful experience. I’ve been here twice in the past 4 year and this is truly a safe space to be open. Everyone is so professional and caring. For me it got very heavy at one point but never to worry. You go up to one of the facilitators and they will help guide you into a more productive space. It may be hard but you will learn about yourself.

My experience with Maharani Medicine Circles was soul affirming and transformative. It was my first experience sitting with Aya and I’m so grateful that it was with Eliana and her facilitators. The communication prior to ceremony weekend was thorough and thoughtful. There was no question left unanswered prior to my departure for the ceremonial weekend. I felt safe, cared for and at ease the entire time. The atmosphere at the location was incredible. I felt nestled into a quiet pocket in the middle of boundless nature. Both attendees and facilitators were welcoming and open to receiving questions from those of us who were new to this journey.

The ceremonies were filled with love, compassion, support, and respect. There was never a time that I reached out for help and wasn’t greeted with it immediately. The atmosphere was inviting. It is amazing to feel the vibration amidst a group of people who sincerely want only the highest good for one another. Having one of our ceremonies outdoors was wonderful and changed the tone entirely. Being amongst the grass, trees, water, fire, flowers and creatures of nature was especially healing.

As others have said before me, Eliana’s voice and the music integrated into ceremony is otherworldly. It was a form of support all on its own, as each of us experienced a different connection between our journey and the lyrics and melodies. The integration circles were immensely helpful. Everyone sharing what had become apparent for them during ceremony was incredibly healing and there was a clear line of connectivity through the shared experiences. Everyone’s contribution was important and held deep truths. It was an experience unlike anything else I’ve ever had, and I’m so grateful that I found this group. Anyone considering sitting with the medicine would be wise to reach out to Eliana and consider joining.

I am so grateful to have been able to join the Maharani Medicine Circle! I was absolutely blown away by how genuine, caring and hospitable Eliana and her facilitators were.
It was my first time sitting in ceremony, and I could feel immediately that Eliana had nurtured a sacred and safe place for the medicine.
I will forever be blessed by my experience and the new family I have found, by the lessons I learned, and the insight I needed to continue down my path.

Hey homie I was literally just talking about you to some of my yoga students this morning (good things, I promise) and then I saw your post. If your open to it, maybe we can catch up sometime soon, I think about you guys a lot and it’d be nice to reconnect. Either way, I hope this helps:

I will never forget the weekend of May 17-19, 2019. That was the weekend that my life changed forever.

A few years ago, I was in a very dark place in my life. The company I worked for had recently been sold and I was out of a job, I was in an abusive relationship that isolated me from my friends and family, I was slowly killing myself with alcohol and other various substances in an attempt to numb my loneliness. I had always felt like there was something greater out there waiting for me, but I felt stuck in cycles/patterns of abuse, inflicted by those around me, but mostly by myself. I felt like I had been abandoned by God and left to suffer all alone for the mistakes I had made in life.

I had heard about various plant medicines and how they were great at helping people find direction in life, but after years of searching high and low, far and wide with little to no results, I was ready to give up. I decided to try one last time and I put “the call” out to the universe by asking the internet for suggestions on how to make this dream manifest. Within an hour, I got a response on a Reddit post from some stranger telling me to send them a message. That stranger was Eliana.

A few days later, I sat in the parking lot of a Walmart, feeling terribly alone, desperately trying to avoid having to go home to my abuser while Eliana and I had our introduction call. She asked me why I wanted to sit in ceremony and what my past experience was with plant medicines. I told her a little bit, but I didn’t go into details about my relationship because I wasn’t able to accept that I, a male, was being abused by my girlfriend. She told me she’d love to have me and that she’d send me an email with more information.

I told my girlfriend and my parents that I was going to ceremony and they all thought I was batsh*t crazy. “You’re going where to do what?!” “Have you ever met these people?!” “Are you joining a cult?!?!” Despite their concerns, I knew in my heart that I needed to be there. I had no clue what to expect, but I knew that what I was looking for was on the other side of this leap of faith.

Fast forward about 2 months, a surprisingly easy spiritual preparation diet, and a gauntlet of questions from my family that I didn’t know how to answer, and I headed from Philly to Upstate NY on a literal trek up a freaking mountain to an AirBnB where I was to meet a mysterious medicine woman for what would either be A) the greatest experience of my life, or like my now ex-girlfriend would routinely tease: my own ritual sacrifice.

I parked my car and felt an immediate sense of relief. I made it. I was greeted by a hug from 2 other attendees. We talked for a bit and then I went inside to meet the others.

I could write an entire book about what happened that weekend, but the big takeaway is this: one weekend with Eliana completely cured 12 years of depression. I had been completely realigned and it was shown to me that I was never alone to begin with. Even though I had turned my own back on God/what I knew to be true, God was right behind me the whole time just waiting for me to turn around. I remembered what I came here to do, I just had to step back into that role. Shortly after returning home I ended my abusive relationship and began my healing process. I truly believe that this wouldn’t have been possible for me if I had never trusted Eliana to take me on this journey.

A few weeks later, I had an accident that left me paralyzed. I felt the presence of Pachamama with me while I sat in my hospital bed and thought back to what she had shown me. I knew that this wasn’t the end of my journey. What might have caused me to give up previously, or even turn back to my ex for support, now gave me the motivation to get up and heal. With the help of my doctors, PT/OT and Spirit having my back, I had a full recovery in just under 5 months (I recently became an RYT-500!).

I knew that I had to give back to the community, so as soon as I could, I went back to ceremony. At this ceremony Eliana announced that The Lighthouse would finally have a home of its own, and she was looking for people to move in. Immediately I knew that I needed to be there. I took a couple months to get my ducks in a row, and I left home to move in with the stranger that saved my life. I helped facilitate ceremonies alongside Eliana for several months, providing energy work services and general good vibes. I got to know her and the community better and growing into the early stages of the person I am today before getting carried onto the next phase of my growth.

Eliana will always hold a very special place in my heart and I will always consider to be a sister to me. She saved my life, and she can save yours too.

Eliana provides a circle that is safe and caring with a deep respect for the medicine. She and the other facilitators carried a beautiful energy of loving kindness coupled with the encouragement I needed to confront my fears and dive into the shadows. The beautiful music, connection with the group, and receptive space to integrate the experience carried me through what was an incredibly healing and uplifting weekend. I recommend Maharani Medicine Circle to anyone looking for an intimate and sacred container to open themselves up to the many gifts Mother Earth holds for us.
