To become a butterfly, the caterpillar should give up its previous form. After that, it becomes something new, while it keeps all the good it has a caterpillar. Our retreat center is doing the same. 🦋

We are the former “Light of the Shipibo” Retreat. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦, 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭 is the same. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 changed 𝐢s 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐲 𝐰𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐫.

We are happy to announce that we step to a new stage in our evolution so that we can fly higher, longer, and carry more weight.
For that, we are changing our name and from 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐨𝐧, 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 “𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞!” 🌴

I could say so much but actually everything‘s already said in all the beautiful reviews before and I can just confirm 100% what all the people are saying about Lighthouse. I‘ve never been to such a peaceful place and have never experiencing so much love in my life before. What the whole Lighthouse family is creating and offering there is above and beyond you could ever imagine. They‘re giving all of their heart to the place and their work and you’ll feel like part of this family right from the start. If you‘re considering doing Ayahuasca in Peru please do yourself a favour and choose Lighthouse. I can’t imagine a better place. I just finished my 3 week retreat with them and I‘m already pretty sad to left the jungle behind. I‘ll be back for sure and can’t wait to meet the guys again. It literally feels like a soul family far away from home. I‘m in deepest gratitude for my experience there. Also for me it was life changing and I‘m happy to found a place where I can always return to to remember how beautiful life is ♥️ gracias gracias gracias from the bottom of my heart!

This Lodestar, this Pharos namesake, this Beaming Amazonian Guidepost of spiritual edification and revelations aligning one to zero point... "Lighthouse!"; definitely lived up to it's name. The lights are on and somebody's home... you're home...your home away from home during the duration of your stay. You're going to be taken care of and be in good hands. Before even arriving Ivan was on the job getting me ready and prepared for the experience, answering any and all questions, making himself available through texts, emails, and video calls. Thank you Ivan! The Lighthouse Team did excellent work facilitating transfer from the airport to the retreat destination. Upon arrival, like I said, it feels like home. Structurally built to safely cradle all guests, while still remaining open enough to feel immersed within the Amazon wilderness. I truly miss this place: the environment, the atmosphere, the vibe, the energy, the delicious all natural, healthy, balanced meals, fresh squeezed juices, friendly cats and dogs who also call this place home, and of course the vital spark that ties it all together, the wonderful staff of people. Jino, Christian, Maestro Antenor, Lady Di, Joy, Yoko, Lenin--words can't begin the describe my depth of gratitude and appreciation towards these outstanding humans. The world truly needs more humans like these! The Lighthouse staff has figured out a formula that works by catering to a humble assembly of humans at a time, making each individual feel recognized, acknowledged, accepted, and attended to; truly impressive! Fresh fruits and teas are always available to assemble how you'd like and reading material is also available and I do recommend not to shy away from it...the information is truly enriching! The excursions are fantastic and memorable, keeping my mind in the right place of being connected to nature and Mama Aya. As for the pièce de résistance, the ceremonies...Mama Aya has something in store for each of us and each individual's encounter is different and unique. Words do no justice here...it's just something you have to experience...and trust! you will not regret it. During the ceremonies Maestro Antenor made me feel at ease and comfortable...it's like you know you're in more than capable hands. The staff are also present during ceremonies and available for much needed support, and if you're lucky, may also synchronize with the Maestro's icaros and the occasional guitar may come into play. The Maestro's icaros are like supernatural songs, tuning the chakral notes of your spiritual body, until finally resonating in harmony with Mama Aya. After each ceremony personal time is set aside between you and the Maestro and this allowed for deeper clarity and insight. Truly fulfilling! In its entirety, I must say, the Lighthouse Ayahuasca Retreat is incredible and incomparable! After it was all said and done it's like I was reborn through Mama Aya. If you're searching for an Ayahuasca retreat, look no further, because this is it! You'll be thankful you chose "Lighthouse! Ayahuasca Retreat "!

Lighthouse did not disappoint! I'm so glad my spirit chose this place. After researching & reading review after review, I found Lighthouse on AyaAdvisors & Lighthouse pulled on me immediately. My heart said...Go there & I'm so glad I did. The entire team was amazing from beginning to end. From the moment you arrive it's all love and you feel safe and secure. I could not ask for a better more supportive group of people. Thank you, Ivan for answering any and all questions before the journey even started. Jino, Christian, Lady Di, Joy, Maestro Antenor, Lenin and Yoko, I have nothing but respect & love for you all. Everyone is amazing! They treat you with respect, love and genuinely care. I now consider them family.❤️ I appreciate the small groups, the undivided personal attention, the authenticity, the love, the private room w/bathroom & shower. I was able to unwind, let go, rest, be peaceful, reset, reflect and shut off my phone. The hike in the jungle (to see the vine & leaves to make the brew), the walk on the beach in the middle of the amazon river & the boat ride on the Amazon are only and added plus of the retreat. The ceremonies will be your own unique experience and Mother Aya did not disappoint me. Maestro Antenors Icaros are soothing, peaceful & powerful. I appreciate the talks the day after the ceremonies. It gives you time to talk with the Maestro & the facilitators about what you experienced, any questions that you may have & to get feedback. Following the Ayahuasca diet for 2 weeks before my arrival was a little difficult, lol. However, I can honestly say they make the food taste great with no salt or seasoning and the natural juices are amazing! I enjoyed & looked forward to breakfast, lunch & dinner! There is also always fresh fruit, tea & water available for snacking. If you're looking for some bougie resort, this is not it. Lighthouse is like going home. It's LOVING family, comfortable, welcoming, and exactly what you need, including the dogs & cats! At Lighthouse you may walk in nervous, but you will leave peaceful. From the spiritual flower bath on day one to the goodbyes on day six, I could not have asked for a better experience for my introduction to Mother Aya. I plan to try & return once a year! If you a searching for a place for your 1st retreat or your 10th retreat...STOP SEARCHING! Go on home to Lighthouse!

Where do I even begin to describe my experience at Lighthouse? After almost two years of searching for an Ayahuasca retreat where I could feel truly comfortable, I finally found Lighthouse. I literally typed “Ayahuasca retreat in Peru” on Google and went down the list one by one, reading reviews — and Lighthouse stood out. It was the only retreat with all 5-star reviews and no negative ones, plus the small group size was exactly what I was looking for. Going into the jungle to meet Mama Aya isn’t something you do on a whim, but from start to finish, Lighthouse made the entire experience amazing. The Team Ivan: Thank you for being so responsive and accommodating — especially when I had passport issues and needed to reschedule my retreat date. Gino: You radiate kindness. Thank you for coordinating everything and always offering support. Lady: You are an incredible woman. Thank you for your words of encouragement and your wisdom. Christian: Thank you for your beautiful morning serenades during breakfast, your guitar playing, and your stories. Joy: As I write this, I’m starting to tear up. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for holding my hand through my entire ceremony, for your kind words, and for your loving support. You and the entire team are truly amazing. Maestro Antenor: Thank you for sharing your wisdom and knowledge with us, for your powerful Icaros, and for offering insights after each ceremony. Leni, Yoko, and the rest of the team: Thank you for all the behind-the-scenes work — keeping everything running smoothly and making sure we were well fed and cared for. The Retreat The place has everything you need to be comfortable. You won’t find a pool, spa, or gym — and honestly, that’s exactly what I wanted. I wasn’t looking for a fancy resort; I wanted a real, authentic experience, and that’s what Lighthouse offers. You have your own private room and bathroom, time to relax and reflect, and even short excursions when the weather allows. One of the best parts is the small group size (maximum of 8 people) — please, Lighthouse, never change this! It creates such an intimate, supportive environment and is one of the main reasons I chose this retreat. Mama Aya Well… what can I say? During my first ceremony, you didn’t show me much. I came in open but quietly expecting something. Instead, you taught me patience and that not everything in life is about instant gratification. During my second ceremony, I surrendered completely and asked you to be kind and show me what I needed to learn — and you did. You showed me everything I needed to see, even things I didn’t know I needed. No video, documentary, or story can truly prepare you for this experience. Everyone’s journey is different, and Mama Aya will give you exactly what you need. Overall: I would choose Lighthouse again and again. The entire team radiates compassion, love, and care. I don’t know how they do what they do — it takes incredibly special people to guide others through such deep healing work. Joshua, you have built something truly extraordinary with an amazing, caring team. P.S. Please keep the group size just as it is — it makes all the difference. 💚

Really incredible! Thanks Christian, Lady, Joy and all the others! The Intake As I believe going to a retreat for a week to be part of an ayahuasca ceremony is not a decision you make on a whim. And with the personal , quite vulnerable nature of the entire process, I found it reassuring the have an almost hour long talk beforehand to get to know the people behind the organization and the reasons for wanting to be part of the ceremony. Information After the intake a lot of information was shared to prepare for the ceremony beforehand. From meditation to dieting requirements. The crew They couldn’t have been more welcoming, loving and supportive. They were simply great! A big part of the very positive experience! Ceremony The ceremonies were taken very seriously, setting the right supportive atmosphere, the importance of it, the maloka where it took place and the maestras who guided the ceremony with their íkaros; very special. And one - I believe - very (!) important aspect: group size. They are limited to 8 participants, which some organizations don’t do. I don’t want to imagine a group of 16 participants, no way! Mama Aya The ayahuasca root en the chacruna leaves. Just wow (!) what an experience, you can - and they have - write books about it. But…: you just have to experience it! But don’t take it lightly, it is intens, beautiful but intens. Down to basics The facilities were basic, decent and I liked that. It suited the ceremonies. It’s just you, the Amazon and the reason you’re there. (Okay there was also wifi ;-)) Good food and juices within the dietary restrictions Getting your food to taste good without salt is harder than you imagine. But as with anything, you get used to it. It makes you feel better as well. The different fruit juices and creativity in the dishes made it quite good really. (The first dish with salt and all the forbidden elements after the retreat was indescribable!)

Light of the Shipibo truly exceeded our expectations for a healing ayahuasca retreat. Over 5 days and 3 ceremonies, the atmosphere was profoundly transformative. The thoughtful staff made every moment special, and the insightful shamans guided us on a healing journey. Between ceremonies, engaging activities deepened the experience. Bonus: furry friends – dogs and cats – added an extra touch of nature magic to the whole retreat. If you seek a truly unique and soul-nurturing experience, this retreat is a gem.

It’s been about two weeks since I left the Light of Shipbo and I’m confident that the decision to visit that magical place on the Amazon was the best I ever made. This was my first experience in Peru and with Ayahuasca so it was impossible to know what I was getting into, but I had a good feeling about the Light of Shipibo as soon as I discovered it on Aya Advisor. My confidence grew after my wonderful hour-long video chat with Ivan, a resident there and the logistics coordinator. He asked me really good questions about what I was looking for and what was drawing me to Ayahuasca. I left the conversation confident that I was headed in the right direction, both in my search for Ayahuasca and my selection of a location.

I traveled to Cuzco and the Sacred Valley before arriving in Iquitos so I became aware of the Ayahuasca culture that exists in the former region, and in my experience, there is nowhere else better to do Ayahuasca than in the Iquitos area. This POV is shared by many who live in Peru and have experience with Ayahuasca. Ayahuasca, and the Shamans who are most experienced with it, are from the Amazon basin, go where it originated, it won’t be the same anywhere else.

Ivan helped to coordinate my pickup from the airport and drop off at my Iquitos hotel, which was much appreciated. After two nights in Iquitos I was picked up by Cristian, one of the facilitators and taken to the docks where I met up with the other retreat guests and we set off down the Amazon. The vibes were good right off the bat and continued once arriving at the retreat center. Our group was warmly welcomed by the staff and shown to our rooms which are simple and perfect for the occasion. You feel completely immersed in the Amazon jungle, the sounds of the birds, frogs, and the insects will be with you forever after.

Cristian and Lady, the other facilitator took great care of us as we prepared for our first ceremony and introduced us to the two shamans with us for our week (some guests two). One shaman was male and one was female, which was absolutely ideal. While the other guests and I shared a low key anxiety about our first night of Ayahuasca, (only one of us had done it before), we all felt that we were in very good hands.

The following 6 days are hard to summarize in a review like this, but the ayahuasca ceremonies were better than I could have ever imagined. If you feel called, I recommend not being scared, it truly is a medicine for the body and the mind. I will be returning to the Light of Shipibo and I hope to see you there.

I did a 2 week retreat in September 2023, this was my first experience with ayahuasca and I was pretty nervous going into my first ceremony. The staff/family ( I say family because they make you feel more like a part of an extended family than a guest) were extremely helpful in easing my nerves and made me feel safe and totally supported, not just in my first ceremony but through my entire stay. The power of the Sharmans and their icaros (songs) really surprised me, to be totally honest I came here with a little bit of doubt regarding the power of the Sharmans and that doubt was gone after the first ceremony and my faith in their powerful abilities was enforced night after night. Overall I had a life changing experience thanks to the entire staff/family, I went on to spend a month travelling peru solo and the highlight of my trip was hands down my 2 weeks spent at the light of the shipibo retreat. I would highly recommend it to anyone and looking for a safe and supportive ayahuasca experience.

I’ve just spent two incredible weeks at this unbelievably beautiful retreat. This was not my first retreat or experience with ayahuasca but this was absolutely the best, and when ayahuasca calls again this is where I will return. All of the staff here are so genuinely loving, caring and have your well-being as their priority. To call them staff feels weird, it’s cliched of course, but they truly were more like a family in the way that they cared and the feeling they created. The accommodation was very comfortable, the ceremonies were out of this world, the shamans were incredible titans of humble wisdom and the food was delicious. Trust me, just go here. This is the place for a truly authentic, life changing experience with this sacred medicine.

We’ve been for 1 week retreat at The Light of Shipibo (that, as we found out, will soon become The Lighthouse), between October 23-28th ’23. It took some time before the decision to start this far away adventure has been taken. I was torn between the fear of having the Ayahuasca experience and the hope of receiving a chance to heal my soul, as I was struggling hard for about a year. Mid-life crisis, constant fears and panic attacks, and an absolute lack of understanding how and why to live.

Since the arrival to Iquitos airport, we’ve been taken care of. The great adventure has started! We met a big part of the team, Maestro and Maestra at the boat station and I already felt good with them.

From the first step on the center’s territory I felt like at home. Fresh air, the multitude of birds, funny dogs, all that green, the peace filled my soul with joy.
We were introduced to the entire team and they were presented to us by Joshua, Jino and Ivan. They were so friendly and caring, humble and openhearted.

It would be probably helpful to separate the comments into a couple of categories:
    – The Lodge- cozy, simple and clean (which I very much appreciate). I enjoyed so much the silence, comfort of going to sleep once it is dark and waking up very early with the first rays of the sun and the birds singing. It is a special place and state of the mind there, where I did not want to read, or browse on internet. It was a state I missed for a long time, a state of peace of mind and harmony with Mother Nature.
Special thanks for the yoga mats! As I did my yoga routine every morning 🙂

    – The team- so helpful, loving and caring! Joshua, Jino, Ivan, Christian, Lady, Antonio, Yoko, Karen, Lenny- a full dedication, an open heart and sincere intentions for every guest.

    – The food- do not have the doubt that fresh juicy fruits, divine smoothies (I miss them so much already), simple unsalted food would make you feel hungry- not at all! I have felt so great with that diet, like I did not for a very long time! Always very tasty, prepared and served with so much love and creativity! ^_^

    – The ceremonies- it my first experience ever with Ayahuasca (and generally with psychedelics), so I did not know what to expect, except for the stories of other people. I decided not to make any expectations, at least as much as possible. I had a quite strong experience at the 2nd ceremony, but as every person is unique, the experience is also very individual, so I will let everyone to have their own.

    – The Shamans- in our case we had 2 of them- Maestra Liliana and Maestro Roosevelt. If somebody will tell me that shamans are actors or so, I would say that person never met a real shaman. These 2 amazing persons, that look like ordinary people during the day, become the Doors Openers during the ceremony. I was amazed by their voices, by the power they have entered my soul, have churned some very-very deep corners of my consciousness and invoked something very pure and noble. I have no doubt that the shamans here are gifted people. I am deeply grateful to Maestra Liliana for her mother-like care she offered me after the ceremony was finished. Her voice is from another, pure and light world… Their icaros, were something incredible, an experience that I will never forget.
During the ceremony the staff was very caring and helpful and I am grateful to them.

I am very grateful to all the people we lived, communicated and interacted with during that week! Mother Ayahuasca changed something in me, I know this and I will need time to observe and harvest that metamorphoses.
I wish to return for further healing and experiences
