La Luna is run by Maestro Don Guido Rimachi. The center was first opened in 1987 as the local village clinic by the Rimachi brothers, and used to serve mainly local patients. As time went on the word was spread, and patients from all over Peru and the rest of the world started to show up. Throughout the last 30 years people have traveled to Santa Maria de Ojeal for healing.

2015 Don Guido decided to expand the village clinic into a full-service Ayahuasca healing center with private bungalows for visitors traveling abroad, wishing to stay many nights and focus on personal healing.

In 2016 the new facilities were opened with a different name, but the sacred Amazonian healing techniques remain. Our shamans work the traditional way with Ayahuasca, passed down through many generations.

Today, La Luna del Amazonas is both one of the oldest and the newest centers around. The center is traditional yet modern, perfect for those who want access to ancient healing in a comfortable environment.

I spent 1 week in La luna del Amazonas. It was one of the best weeks of my life.
I’ve been to other Ayahuasca centers before, but it doesn’t compare.
Henrik – an extremely nice and empathetic person. He was always interested in how the guests felt. Shaman – not only a good connoisseur of the jungle, but also an ever-smiling nice guy.
Staff great. Great food, lots of fruit.
A rich program that provided me with experiences that I will remember for the rest of my life.
Central location in an amazing location right on the river.
    Lots of animals everywhere.
Everything clean, plenty of hygiene items.

I can only recommend this center. I’d be right back.

My experience of la Luna will
be something I’ll forever look back on, the authenticity and intimacy, I felt safe the whole time and especially during the ceremonies.
From booking the retreat to the pick up and drop off it was all seamless and easy.
Enrique is passionate about what he does we shared many conversations and we all felt like a family.
The ceremonies were very intimate there were two other people that were there for the week and we had 3 shamans with a combined plant experience of 75 years.
We did the ceremony in a maloca where the floor is unsealed so you feel grounded with the jungle.
I had the most amazing time I can’t put into words

I can’t put into words how magical my time at LaLuna Del Amazonas was. I had the most profound experience of my life and got all that I was hoping for and then some. I’m eternally grateful to Ayahuasca for the kind of transformation I experienced and for answering my intentions. I’m also eternally grateful to Don Guido, Don Leonardo, Enrique, Danillo and the rest of the team for making this possible. I truly believe that without the guidance of the shamans, having the experience I did would have been impossible. They are supremely competent, grounded, loving, and humble. I was in awe of how beautifully and masterfully they guided the ceremonies. I felt safe and that really allowed me to experience the ceremonies with a lot of trust. The environment at the centre is tranquil and facilitates deep inner work. It was a retreat in the deepest sense. If you are thinking about doing an Ayahuasca retreat, I highly recommend LaLuna Del Amazonas.

I chose La Luna to be my first ayahuasca experience based on the reviews and research, and I’m so happy I made the decision to come here! I found love, peace, and happiness at La Luna! The people working and volunteering here (Enrique, Danilo, Oscar, Natalia, to just name a few) were very welcoming and made my experience the best it could’ve been. I’m going to echo some of the previous reviews here in my review because they nailed it – This was an experience of a lifetime and I must applaud everyone at La Luna for creating a special, safe, and authentic place where you can learn about yourself and heal. This is not a place to “trip” and the work they do here is to heal. You must trust the process and if you are open and willing to allow ayahuasca to do the work, you may very well get what you’re seeking.

Going into this, I was a bit concerned about how I was going to feel before, during, and after my experience with ayahuasca, but after the first day, I was assured that it was a completely safe place to be vulnerable. This helped me with my healing process. I can attest that during the ceremonies the maestros (Leonardo and Jack) sang “the most beautiful, soothing ikaros to help you on your journey.” I wish I had a recording of them singing because it was that beautiful! The maestros are there to answer your questions and concerns. I can tell by the way they talk that they are very passionate about what they do and they’re genuinely there to help you heal.

They have everything you need here. It’s simple and authentic which was what I was looking for. They have comfortable beds, toilets, and showers in your private room. The food was indeed plentiful and it was very tasty and fresh!

I got what I was seeking and more! I wish I could’ve stayed longer and I’m beyond grateful for the experience and for the work they do here. I will be back for sure! I’m so lucky to have met the most interesting and wonderful people at La Luna and I consider them part of my soul family now!

Lovely people and facility, authentic jungle accommodation. Everything was relaxed and hassle free, so you can focus on your inner journey and/or healing. No need to wear a mental mask at any time. The Ayahuasca ceremonies are well prepared and you can feel completely safe. The shamans take care of a good energetic environment. If you want to meet Mother Ayahuasca and you don’t need a very luxurious accommodation, then this is definitely the place to go! I just feel pure love for La Luna and the people working there ❤️
