La Luna is run by Maestro Don Guido Rimachi. The center was first opened in 1987 as the local village clinic by the Rimachi brothers, and used to serve mainly local patients. As time went on the word was spread, and patients from all over Peru and the rest of the world started to show up. Throughout the last 30 years people have traveled to Santa Maria de Ojeal for healing.
2015 Don Guido decided to expand the village clinic into a full-service Ayahuasca healing center with private bungalows for visitors traveling abroad, wishing to stay many nights and focus on personal healing.
In 2016 the new facilities were opened with a different name, but the sacred Amazonian healing techniques remain. Our shamans work the traditional way with Ayahuasca, passed down through many generations.
Today, La Luna del Amazonas is both one of the oldest and the newest centers around. The center is traditional yet modern, perfect for those who want access to ancient healing in a comfortable environment.

July 7, 2025 at 8:08 pmI had the absolute pleasure of spending two weeks at La Luna, and my time there was extraordinary! From the moment I arrived, the La Luna family made me feel right at home, instantly putting my mind at ease. The grounds are stunning, and swimming in the river was an unforgettable experience. Everyone at La Luna was happy to accommodate guests’ requests.
The ceremonies were truly a wild card, but having the Shamans there was incredibly comforting. While the accommodations are rustic, it only added to the charm and authenticity of the experience. The food was consistently delicious, and especially after the dieta,
My time at La Luna is something words can’t fully capture, but rest assured, you’re in excellent hands.

I have been to a some different Aya retreats over the years and for me this was the perfect one. My experiences at La luna have been deeper than anything ever. The medicine at la Lana is amazing, they only use the black vine to brew and I appreciate that because I find that the black vine is the best. The curious and miraculous ability that the medicine has to be able to scan through my body intelligently, finding stuck energy and then bringing it up to be purged is just jaw dropping, I will be forever amazed.
Some of my experiences in ceremony were challenging, I found that simply relaxing and allowing the medicinal experience with minimal logic helped me a lot. Relaxing into my purge and not attempting to force it made me purge easily.
Some of my experiences were beautiful. I felt deeper in to myself and my heart, feeling closer than ever to all the goodness in life.
Henrik the manager had a brilliant, grounding energy and the rest of the team were great, a cool bunch of people and always there to help you to the toilet in ceremony if needed. The whole place had a really good vibe.
I really appreciate the relaxed and easy-going environment that is la luna and the authenticity of the shamans. The elder has been drinking the medicine for 75 years, so that’s very reassuring. His icaros were some of the most beautiful melodies I have ever heard, I could have listened to them forever.

October 3, 2024 at 4:49 amLa Luna gave me the most amazing experience. The deep knowledge from the shamans and the family warmth feeling from everyone supporting the retreat makes me want to come back. I can highly recommend it. The small group setting is hard to find, but at La
Luna they see it as important . Love everything about the place.
Much Love from Sweden

October 2, 2024 at 5:02 pmMy experience at La Luna was transformative! I felt so safe and cared for and like I had the time and space to process what was coming up for me in the sessions. I appreciated the opportunity to share after ceremonies and receive advice and support. I will absolutely be coming back!

October 2, 2024 at 1:18 pmI visited LaLuna 2 years ago and still I would consider the week I spend there as one of the most valuable of my life. I felt 100% safe and very well supported during my mental journey and I am extremely thankful for the experiences I was allowed to make out there in the jungle.
