La Luna is run by Maestro Don Guido Rimachi. The center was first opened in 1987 as the local village clinic by the Rimachi brothers, and used to serve mainly local patients. As time went on the word was spread, and patients from all over Peru and the rest of the world started to show up. Throughout the last 30 years people have traveled to Santa Maria de Ojeal for healing.

2015 Don Guido decided to expand the village clinic into a full-service Ayahuasca healing center with private bungalows for visitors traveling abroad, wishing to stay many nights and focus on personal healing.

In 2016 the new facilities were opened with a different name, but the sacred Amazonian healing techniques remain. Our shamans work the traditional way with Ayahuasca, passed down through many generations.

Today, La Luna del Amazonas is both one of the oldest and the newest centers around. The center is traditional yet modern, perfect for those who want access to ancient healing in a comfortable environment.

An amazing place with a great atmosphere. Small group sizes, a lovely owner with lots of experience and and a first-hand healing hostory himself that acts as a bridge and helps make the most out of the day; during the day the house and the temple are a space for flowing energy and creativity (we have been creating a lot, making bracelets to writing to making dreamcatchers); great converstions for processing your ecperience the other days. Three shamans with a slightly differing approach, which ensures you find that one of them is the perfect fit in helping you achieve your intentions. I miss La Luna so much already. Coming back!

I stayed at La Luna while it was still under construction last November. I can honestly say it was a one of a kind experience. Enrique was so friendly and knowledgable on the medicine. The people and atmosphere at the center was perfect. We played around with our creativity during the day, shared some stories at dusk, and went on epic ayahuasca journeys at night. The quiet, remote, wilderness of the Amazon is very much alive at this center. One of the best weeks of my life. Truly felt more at home there then where I actually grew up. Hoping to return one day and chat it up with Enrique and the shamans.

I cannot speak highly enough about this retreat center! I was there for a little less than a week in March of 2017 and it was a truly incredible experience. Located in the heart of the jungle, this center provides everything a participant could look for: multiple shamans with knowledge and good energy, an incredible owner who is always ready to help you out, healthy food cooked every day, and a natural setting that adds so much energy to your ayahuasca experience. I highly recommend them and urge you to reach out to the owner, Enrique, if you have any follow up questions!
