WHAT IS AYAHUASCA?
For over a thousand years, this Amazonian plant medicine has been used in a sacred context, by Indigenous healers throughout the Amazon basin, as a profound healing modality.
The scope of this ancient medicine is vast, for when consumed in its traditional context, Ayahuasca induces an altered state of consciousness, opening a gateway for deep therapeutic work to address dis-ease in the body, mind, and spirit. At its core, this medicine initiates a profound cleansing process, purging physical and energetic blockages that disconnect us from our true selves and our divine essence. this process works to release us from traumas and to re-awaken our innate abilities, allowing us to gain clarity on our life’s purpose. It is the foundation for the traditional medicine systems of over 75 different cultures in the Amazon, and has spread to various regions across the globe, offering healing for many illnesses and dis-ease where modern medicine has failed.

August 19, 2026 at 2:32 pmI have been attending La Ceiba retreats for the better part of 5 years. Everything about this place is magical. From the moment you step in the retreat center, you fee like you are in good hands. Everything from the staff, medicines, music and food are top notch. Everything is set up to grant you a transformative experience.
Coming to La Ceiba has granted me a lot of insights and I credit that to the power of the medicine, the professionalism of the staff and the shaman. I would recommend La Ceiba to anyone who is looking to try ayahuasca and definitely to those who have tried it before.

August 7, 2026 at 12:17 pmI am about to embark on my second retreat at La Ceiba, though this will be my third visit to this beautiful container for ceremonies. I was welcomed into a general weekend ceremony that guided me through one of the most difficult periods of my adult life this past year.
La Ceiba was initially recommended to me by a past participant, and I am eternally grateful that I not only listened to their recommendation but also trusted my intuition that this was the right place for me.
From the moment you arrive, you can feel that everyone genuinely cares. Not only about you, but about your experience, your relationship with the medicine, and your integration long after the ceremonies end.
Keenan creates a beautiful container and offers heartfelt guidance that helps you better understand yourself and your place in the world. He has the most grounded and positive heart. Dr. Catalina makes you feel truly safe, seen, and heard. Unlike many medical experiences I’ve had in the U.S., she takes the time to listen deeply and shares her wisdom in a way that supports your unique journey. And the food is nothing short of incredible. Honestly, it’s dream worthy.
What has impressed me most is that the care doesn’t end when you leave. Between visits, I’ve reached out to several staff members for guidance, and every single time they’ve made space for me, offering thoughtful perspectives that have helped me grow and navigate life with greater clarity.
The ceremonies themselves have been profoundly beautiful. They challenged my internal dialogue, invited me to surrender what no longer served me, and helped me reconnect with what is truly aligned with my soul. The medicine was gentle when I needed gentleness, yet powerful enough to guide me beyond limits I didn’t know I could move through.
I cannot recommend La Ceiba enough. It has become a place of healing, growth, and deep transformation for me, and I look forward to returning year after year to continue expanding alongside such compassionate and gifted facilitators

August 4, 2026 at 2:17 pmIf you’re looking for the best ayahuasca retreat, I can’t recommend La Ceiba enough. After visiting three different retreats in Colombia, this one stands out. From the moment I arrived I felt a warm, powerful energy—from the staff to the other guests—that made the whole place feel safe and held. It’s all about teamwork in this space, not
one person is more important than the other and the staff works together in harmony to create the magical space that La Ceiba is
Splurging on a private room (about $300 extra) was a total game-changer for me. Having a quiet space to rest, reflect, and integrate made a big difference.
The food deserves its own shoutout: the chefs serve fresh, comforting meals that I still think about. Seriously delicious.
Dr. Catalina is wonderful—she checked in on my vitals and genuinely cared about how I was doing every day. Talking with her felt reassuring and kind.
Keenan is an incredible guide. Calm, wise, and deeply present, he offered just the right words and direction when I needed them most. I trusted him completely.
La Ceiba has become my annual ritual for healing and growth. If you’re ready for a supportive, beautiful setting for your journey, this is the place. I hope our paths cross there someday.

June 22, 2026 at 4:22 pmThis retreat was a truly transformative experience. The space, filled with a very welcoming energy, allowed me to release heavy burdens and connect with a new version of myself.
I loved the people who made this space possible: from those who play music and those who share their cooking in the kitchen, to everyone who provides constant support. Furthermore, I deeply appreciate the wisdom and guidance of the taita, who guided us with immense love and respect.

June 20, 2026 at 8:58 amWhere do I begin? La Ceiba Healing Center has gradually become a second home for me. The transformational experiences I’ve had there are difficult to put into words, not only because of the medicine itself, but also because of the environment, care, and intention that the team creates to support each person’s journey.
What truly sets La Ceiba apart are the people. Over the years, I’ve met genuine, compassionate individuals and built meaningful relationships that have lasted far beyond my time at the center. There is a strong sense of community, safety, and authenticity that is felt from the moment you arrive.
Each time I return, I’m impressed by how the team continues to grow and improve. The level of organization, attentiveness, care, and respect for traditional practices is remarkable. Even when I think the experience couldn’t get any better, they somehow find ways to elevate it.
With the growing number of ayahuasca retreat centers appearing around the world, it can be difficult to know which ones are truly operating with integrity and honoring the traditions they represent. In my experience, La Ceiba stands out for its sincere mission, ethical approach, and genuine commitment to healing and serving others.
I highly recommend reaching out to the team directly if you’re considering a retreat. They are welcoming, knowledgeable, and happy to answer questions or address any concerns you may have. For anyone seeking a safe, authentic, and deeply supportive healing experience, La Ceiba is a place I wholeheartedly recommend.
