Ayahuasca $1,800 - $3,500

Espiritu Pandorita

Golfito, Costa Rica

Pandorita offers deeply transformative, indigenous-led ayahuasca retreats in beautiful Costa Rica!

Nestled in the lush rainforest of the Golfo Dulce region, we host intimate 7 or 11-day journeys guided by experienced female Shipibo shamans and loving facilitators.

Here you have an opportunity to re-write your own story in a place where the possibilities are endless.

Forge your path with the loving support of a land where humans and nature live in harmony, where emails can wait and the dolphins invite you to play, where there are no limits to your power to change your mind and open your heart.

Whether you’re seeking trauma healing, spiritual clarity, or a return to self, this is a space to slow down, feel held, and reconnect with your true nature.

No distractions, no pressure, just the power of the plants, the wisdom of the land, and the safety to explore your inner world.

We are proud to work exclusively with female shamans, honoring their sacred role in the unfolding of a new, more compassionate world.

In this time of global transformation, we believe that empathy, emotional intelligence, and intuitive connection — the gifts of the feminine — are essential to healing ourselves and our planet.

The tender, smooth energies of our shamans harmonize beautifully with the light, magical energy of the land, creating a container that is deeply supportive, gentle, and profoundly powerful.

All women and men are invited to find their inner balance between their masculine and feminine strengths.

What’s Included

Ayahuasca Ceremonies at Espiritu Pandorita in Costa Rica

Ceremonies

Our retreats now come in two formats: the 11-day retreat with five ayahuasca ceremonies, including a diagnostic first ceremony and a final arkana, and the 7-day retreat with three ceremonies.

The dosage for each ceremony is determined in close communication between the guest, the facilitator, and the Onayabo.

Yoga & Meditation at Espiritu Pandorita in Costa Rica

Yoga & Meditation

Our facilitators Montserrat and Aum gently tune into the needs of each group and design supportive practices such as yoga, breathwork, or guided meditation.

These sessions help the body to release tension, strengthen inner balance, and prepare for the deep work of the ceremonies.

In the quiet mornings or late afternoons, participants are invited to reconnect with their breath, stretch and cultivate presence.

Nourishment at Espiritu Pandorita in Costa Rica

Nourishment

On ceremony days, fresh smoothies or soups are prepared to optimally support your experience.

On non-ceremony days, our kitchen serves wholesome dishes that include not only vegan options but also fresh fish, meat, or other protein sources, depending on availability.

Whenever possible, ingredients from our permaculture garden are used in our meals.

Wildlife Tours at Espiritu Pandorita in Costa Rica

Wildlife Tours

Included in your retreat is a boat tour of the Golfo Dulce to spot dolphins, whales, manta rays, and sea turtles, as well as a kayak tour up the Esquina River mangrove swamp to see birds, crocodiles, and more.

Additionally, enjoy a guided snorkeling experience at Puma Beach. Please note that all tours are subject to weather and tide conditions.

Daily Activities at Espiritu Pandorita in Cost Rica

Daily Activities

Snorkel equipment, 1- and 2-person kayaks, and stand-up paddle boards are always available to you.

Visit our coral reef, test your balance at high tide, or paddle up the coastline.

We offer well-maintained trails that lead through the national park, providing excellent opportunities for wildlife observation. If you walk all the trails in one go, it takes about 1.5 to 2 hours.

Integration at Espiritu Pandorita in Costa Rica

Integration

In addition to the nature activities that naturally support integration, both individual and group sessions are offered.

The more information the Onayabo and the faciltators have, the deeper they can carry out their work.

We would like to offer those who are new to the world of ayahuasca the opportunity to talk to our experts in advance. We encourage you to book a consultation call, if you feel unsure or need further information.

We believe in you, we support you, and we cannot wait to see what you create.

I’ve just spent the last week at Pandorita & I can’t recommend it highly enough. Our flight into Costa Rica was cancelled & we arrived two days late, but Montserrat kept in constant touch and arranged pick up with Aum and Maestra Teolinda. They were waiting with smiles and hugs. Nothing was too much effort to ensure we arrived safely. It’s a 30 minute boat ride in & the view is stunning. Pandorita sits in the jungle within Piedras Blancas National Park. You can hear & see howler monkeys, iguanas, and many birds. The team works hard to care for the land & keep the space beautiful. Every meal cooked by Artemisia & Ruty is delicious and feels like medicine. I am vegan & every meal was perfect. The food is wholesome & often grown on the property. Ceremonies are led by Maestra Teolinda & her daughter Edita, powerful Shipibo healers who surround you with love & care. The medicine is strong & their icaros help you release and heal. Aum & Montserrat ensure you are never unsupported. The healing I received in three ceremonies gave me what 20 years of therapy and previous ceremonies elsewhere could not, all while feeling safe. If you’re looking for an ayahuasca retreat that respects you, the land and the medicine, Pandorita is the place. You won’t regret it.

Beauty, nature, nurture, intrigue, and relaxation filled my week at Pandorita. The staff were helpful, spirited personalities, full of song, care, and laughter. Our shamen worked long and hard in their craft to bring healing, peace, and insight through their powerful icaras (songs). My ayahuasca experiences were both challenging and peaceful by touching my body, mind, and spirit, and offering me a different perspective for events in my life. The retreat keeps a schedule of events, but there are plenty of windows for individual activities or rest. During those 7 days, I loved exploring where the rainforest touched the ocean, and saw dolphins, toucans, iguanas, sting rays, howler monkeys, currasaws, hummingbirds, a huge cane toad, and dozens of beautiful native flowers. Pandorita returns its participants to simplicity, nature, and spirit and that journey is a true blessing to experience.

There are no words to describe my experience at Pandorita. The place is out of this world! The shamans and facilitators are loving, caring and experienced. They are there to assist you throughout your journey and bring as much healing. If you are looking for a deep healing and connecting to nature as you have never before, this is your call! It was incredible to witness the transformation of each participant, being spititual, psicologica and phisical. Thank you everyone for having made my experience at Pandorita a life changing one. ❤️

A journey into paradise - inside and outside For four months, I was blessed to walk this land as a facilitator, working side by side with the shamans. It was an experience that touched my soul and will stay with me forever. The ceremonies are deeply transformative. Even months later, many guests share how profoundly their lives have shifted. For me, serving the medicine in support of the guests was a sacred and deeply enriching path. Yet this paradise holds so much more… A breathtaking landscape, completely united with Mother Earth. Falling asleep to the gentle song of the crickets, awakening to the powerful calls of the monkeys… One of my most cherished journeys was the dolphin tour, and my absolute favorite was the voyage into the mangroves — a truly sacred place, filled with stillness, peace, and ancient strength. And this is the true intention of the ceremonies: quieting the mind, bringing peace to the soul, and awakening strength within the heart.

My experience at Pantodita was truly life-changing. The medicine woman Teolinda and Edita are exceptional, born in the jungle of Peru with a long tradition of the medicine, highly experienced. Their presence creates trust and safety. Every ceremony was held with care, precision, and deep respect for the medicine and the participants. The facilitators Montse and Aum are also extraordinary human beings! The food was nourishing, clean, and perfectly cooked to support the ceremonies and the physical process they involve. The location itself is stunning, immersed in extraordinary biodiversity. Being surrounded by so much nature adds a powerful layer to the experience: grounding, calming. On a personal level, I came to Pandorita a bit skeptical but experienced a major transformation, both mentally and physically — I lost 6 kg in 11 days, but more importantly, I could let go of many things; I gained clarity, lightness, and a renewed connection with myself. I am deeply grateful for this experience and would wholeheartedly recommend Pantodita to anyone seeking a serious, well-held, and transformative ayahuasca retreat.

A big thank you to beautiful Pandorita and its wonderful team for giving us an amazing experience and spiritual journey.

The food was exceptional, each day freshly prepared meals and juices, prepared with love, consisting of only the ingredients that nature gives us. A true blessing for our body & mind.

Living so close to nature, with nature rathermore, has been an indescribable experience. Our minds could find peace, our souls could find happiness and our bodies could find strength. Being able to have wildlife so close, even some friendly neighbors coming to say hello, was simply beautiful and healing.

The team has been so loving and caring, always sharing their wisdom and knowledge with us. Each day was a new day to learn and to grow. Not only have we found new friends but family. We will always be happy to come back and miss you already!

I recently completed a 10-day workshop at Pandorita, which included six Ayahuasca ceremonies guided by deeply respected female Shipibo shamans. It was, without exaggeration, one of the most transformative experiences of my life.

Pandorita is set within the lush rainforest of Piedras Blancas National Park, right along the shores of the serene Golfo Dulce in southern Costa Rica. The retreat is Swiss family-owned, and that personal care is woven into every detail—from the warm welcome to the integrity and presence throughout the journey.

The ceremonies were conducted with deep reverence, held by Shipibo shamans whose songs—icaros—offered profound healing. Just as vital were the outstanding and highly experienced facilitators, who offered grounded, compassionate support before, during, and after each ceremony and if needed day in and day out. Their intuition, professionalism, and heartfelt presence created an environment where I felt completely safe to surrender, heal, and grow.

Between ceremonies, the days offered a beautiful rhythm of rest and reconnection. Jungle walks on the Jaguar and Puma Trails revealed the richness of the land, while kayaking through mangroves and snorkeling in the calm waters of the Golfo Dulce brought joy and a sense of play. One of the most unexpectedly meaningful elements was the retreat’s rustic 82-step staircase leading from the beach house up to the tree house. At first, it was simply a challenge—but by the end, it had become a powerful metaphor for the inner journey: uneven, humbling, and deeply rewarding. Each climb became a ritual, a quiet act of persistence and transformation.

The plant-based meals were delicious and nourishing, prepared with intention to support the dieta and the integration of the medicine. Sharing circles and one-on-one integration support added depth and clarity, helping me carry the insights I received into my life beyond the retreat.

Pandorita is more than a destination—it is a sacred container for healing, held by nature, tradition, and a truly exceptional team. I leave feeling clearer, lighter, and profoundly grateful.

I have never experienced anything like the nourishing power of this place. Even before anything begins, the land itself is already at work—quiet, clear, and deep.

In Costa Rica, and especially in this protected part of the country, you can feel that nature is still in balance. Not as an idea, but as a lived, tangible reality. As a field. As a vibration. And simply being within this natural resonance is profoundly nourishing for the soul—one that, in our everyday lives, often suffers deeply because this balance has been lost.

You arrive and step into a field that is not fragmented. A field that holds you. And you begin to attune.

You are awakened by howler monkeys. A hummingbird drifts past, as if part of a dream. Scarlet macaws circle overhead—and if you know where to go, you can even visit their nest deep in the jungle.

This world is alive, intact, and awake.
    And it remembers.

To encounter Ayahuasca within this unspoiled nature, within this original order, is something profoundly deep. It does not feel like an experience in nature, but rather an experience with it—as if the land itself is participating, holding, guiding.

    It is unique.
Quiet and powerful at the same time.
And something that cannot be replicated, because it is born from the authenticity of this place.

What happens here does not happen only within the individual.
It happens in relationship. A truly magic place. A truly magic journey.

As I arrived at Pandorita, I was greeted with smiles and even dolphins on the way in. I felt deeply cared for. The place itself is pure magic, surrounded by jungle and ocean.
The ceremonies were powerful and at times intense, yet incredibly healing once I learned to let go. The powerful songs of the shamans and the sounds of nature blended into something unforgettable. I found a new sense of trust in myself and a deep connection to the earth.
The facilitators were caring, kind, attentive, and gave us the space we needed to move through our own journeys. The small group made it feel intimate and supportive.
Between ceremonies, I loved the mangrove and dolphin tours, exploring the jungle, the guided yoga and meditation, swimming, kayaking on the water, stand-up paddling and relaxing in a hammock.
The food was very healthy with lots of ingredients fresh from their garden. I still think about that sugar-free, gluten-free cake!
There is wifi in the dining area and i loved the fact that there is no signal or radiations in the rest of the land. I felt deeply immersed in nature there. Pandorita gave me so much healing, clarity, and peace. It’s a place I’ll return to, without a doubt.

We understand that you had a negative experience, and that is not something we wish on anyone. We do wish you the best on your journey, but we also owe a duty to the truth, and you have not been fair or honest.

In light of this, from here on we would rather address future clients, as we don’t feel it is reasonable to engage further with this reviewer, and instead provide some background information so that everyone can make an informed decision.

First and foremost, we invite you to take advantage of our free consultation. Meet us, talk with us, see for yourselves. However, if you would like to read our point of view, we have gone into detail below. Unfortunately, given the length of and amount of misinformation in this review, there is a lot to unpack.

During that consultation call, we explain that we do not have a doctor on site. Rather, there is a doctor on-call in Puerto Jiménez, and we also have a consulting doctor in Switzerland. We explain that Pandorita is only accessible by boat, and that it takes 40 minutes to reach the nearest clinic. We ask all potential clients to be honest about any physical or mental health problems, and we do not allow anyone with known risk factors to participate (more on this later). We are not sure what the reviewer was talking about in regards to an acupuncturist.

Again, to clarify expectations, we are not a medical clinic. To address the reviewer’s demands that we have medical equipment and trained personnel: 1) we would never administer a “saline drip,” as that is an intravenous treatment that is very dangerous for non-medical personnel to administer, and also is not medically indicated; and 2) we do not have an “oxygen mask” on-site either, as it is not practical or safe to store oxygen cylinders in high temperatures. Nobody would. Our policies are well thought-through, and the risks (though much less grave than the reviewer would indicate) are well-explained in advance.

We would like to invite potential clients to read and compare this reviewer’s commentary on this site to their reviews on other platforms. You will notice that the review changes ever so slightly as if to seem like two people, or perhaps because the reviewer struggles to keep the details straight. In one review it was an “asthma attack,” in another review she purportedly urinated on herself. But this is the same person, and so we are addressing both reviews with the same response. We should also note that we have yet to find a characterization of her experience across either review that we really agree with, but we tried to limit our response to the allegations that would concern us if we were looking for an ayahuasca workshop ourselves.

It is also important to give a bit of context about this reviewer. Her infidelity to the truth is not limited to these reviews. She lied to us in her intake interview, and once she was here she bragged about having been rejected by other ayahuasca centers, but being accepted here after lying to us about her mental instability. We feel betrayed that anyone would do that – it is for your safety and for ours that we ask you to be honest in these interviews. Moreover, she was incredibly disrespectful to the Shipibo shamans. You can see it a bit in the reviews already, where she calls one of the shamans “an illiterate man from the jungle,” but we also invite you to read the following from another participant from this reviewer’s retreat:

“I was in the same workshop as the lady who gave it only one star.. When I read this, I felt the need to share my impressions of the encounter with her and also to clarify, how safe and professional this center is. On the very first day, she told me and probably also some other guests that she had lied during the info pre-call with the Pandorita team. She had been rejected by several Ayahuasca centers and had therefore lied about her psychological state of health during the call in order to avoid being rejected again. In addition, the way she was acting during the first two days weren‘t really introspective, but more like she just wanted to „have a good time“. She also kept bringing up her desires for possible sexual encounters during the retreat, eventough this is a complete no-go whilst working with the medicine and participants are asked to adhere to this rule such as other safety precautions like not taking medications etc. She joked about starting an Ayahuasca S*x C*lt there.. When her second ceremony didn‘t go like she wanted, she started blaming the shamans, that they are illiterate people and that they are no doctors.. Some of the things she said seemed quite racist to me.. I felt that she – eventough she wanted to try the medicine – was not ready to face the depths, shadows and fears the medicine can bring up and experienced a panic attack or just was in extreme fight- and flight-mode. Also from my point of view, the facilitators took great care of her and did everything possible to make her feel safe, they tried to talk her down also the morning after, all whilst also being very considerate towards the rest of the group and asking us how we were doing after her outburst and making sure that we also felt safe and being cared for.”

We forbid sexual contact during retreats, we insist upon honesty in our intake interviews, and we do not tolerate racism. None of that is negotiable. We were very happy to organize this reviewer’s early departure.

So, unfortunately, this is not a reliable reviewer. And, again, we are very disappointed that we had this experience. It was hard on us. We put our hearts into this work, and we care deeply about each and every client. Sadly, all of us were treated very disrespectfully by the reviewer. So, we hope that anyone reading this will give us the opportunity to introduce ourselves through one of our free consultation calls, so we can start fresh. We love Ayahuasca, we love this land, and we love our clients. We look forward to meeting you. Thank you for reading.
