Private Ayahuasca & San Pedro Retreat in the heart of San Pedro de Vilcabamba, in Loja, Ecuador. Casa Del Sol works with small groups to optimize the quality of your experience, and share the space as a family. Blessed with a beautiful location within the Valley of Longevity, we integrate ourselves with its powerful medicine; our retreats include walking through its mountains, cleansing ourselves in the waterfalls and in the river in front of our home. We make offerings, meditate, practice yoga, hold sweat lodges and plant medicine ceremonies to encourage this integration.

April 7, 2021 at 3:30 pmThis retreat is definetly an incredible and lifechanging experience. Ximena, Santiago, their son Mateo and their helpers will guide you very well and make sure you have a very personal and deep experience with nature, plant medicine and yourself.
I had no previous experience with any plant medicine and most other participants also not. It was not a problem at all since you can always choose how deep you want to go.
The location is in a very beautiful place surrounded by nature that reminds me about the scenery of Pandora in the movie Avatar. It has a mystical touch and you feel that in this place wonders are possible.
I can highly recommend Casa del Sol to everybody that want to have a deeper meaning of life.

April 1, 2021 at 3:48 pmThose of you who have been to Casa del Sol probably agree that is hard to put into words a life-changing experience crafted to perfection by Santiago, Ximena, Suzannah Mateo, Francisco, and the staff of Casa del Sol.
You can’t ask for better teachers, guides, and friends, they will kindly help you through your personal journey, assisting you in every moment, making you feel safe and relaxed.
The location is fantastic, right next to a river and at the foot of a mountain, lush and green surroundings, birds chirping by the garden, its a natural and spiritual sanctuary for the soul.
I traveled with my friend Celso and neither of us had ever experienced medicinal plants before, so we didn’t know what to expect, but Ximena’s warmth and Santiago kindness made us feel like part of a tribe that was finally getting back together like we had known each other for a long time or perhaps in another life.
The medicine was excellent, treated us well, and gave us breakthroughs and insights, but it would have not been the same without the beautiful ceremonies, conversations, traditions, songs, smiles, and constant care to detail by Ximena and Santiago. I left Casa del Sol with so much more than I could’ve ever imagined, I can’t thank you enough, Santiago, Ximena, Suzannah, Mateo, Francisco for all your teachings, strength, kindness, friendship, wisdom, laughter, and stories.
I will certainly be back to visit my extended family at Casa del Sol.
Hasta pronto

February 10, 2021 at 11:02 amWhat words can describe a weaving so beautiful?
To receive these medicines in such a sacred commitment shown by Santiago and Ximena is a true honor. It is a true blessing that such a place exists that such a path is shown. The teachings that this family shares from their hearts is beyond language. From the moment you enter the property you are part of the family. You become woven into this web of healing that they have created and suspend over an aching world. They greet you as you are and offer their hand to help you reach your knowing potential. I met Santiago many years ago and his few choice words that spoke directly into my heart have remained a blueprint on how to honor my truth. He is a human who understands the many turmoils of this experience known as life yet, he grants you the remembering of your highest self. No games just an arrow of intent and potentiality and through this arrow an understanding that you are the one you’ve been waiting for. Over the time span of quarantine I had the true blessing to meet Santiagos family via Skype and finally in person over the past month. Ximena his wife and true beacon of light who guides this space and wisdom selflessly ( her laugh could clear a cloudy day ) her discipline ripples into every breath within casa del sol her lightness reminds you to let down your shield and step into vulnerability. Her songs are the very particles that form a beautiful sunset. Her knowledge of the path is a true compass for the art of good living. And last but not least by any means Mateo, their son and one of the wisest people I’ve ever encountered. His prayers and the way he reminds you how to speak from the space of your heart not intersected by logic but woven together to create pristine cognition. He connects the experience with a thread of humility and discipline. A perfect balance of commitment and enjoyment his very presence is some of the best medicine available. This is so much more than a retreat center. This is family, this is a right of passage, this is the most beautiful weaving I have ever experienced, and the gift of carrying my own thread into my own life has been the most beautiful honor I have every received. To Casa del sol I thank you for this great remembering in a time when its so easy to forget. It is with much love I say I will see you soon. Aho !

January 3, 2021 at 9:08 amI visited Casa Del Sol 6 weeks ago and I’m happy to report that the “buzz” from the whole experience has not only stayed with me but has grown. It’s no small part to the amazing family (Ximena, Santiago, Mateo) and their extended “family” (Everett, Susanna and others:) who shared their immense energy, love and wisdom to us guests and ensured that we received exactly what we needed to grow and heal in our journey. Thank you! They allow for lots of space for introspection which, given the beautiful and inspiring natural surroundings..along with the family’s own magnificent touches by way of various altars…facilitates easy discovery (or rediscovery) of our connection to the Pachamama. The reverence this family has to the natural world is truly authentic and inspirational that their spirit -along w/ the plant medicines – will stay inside you long after you return home. May the buzz continue:) Ajo!

December 30, 2020 at 7:21 pmI honestly didn’t know what to expect before I arrived at the Casa del Sol, but I am sure that it was the best choice I could have made to enter the world of medicinal plants. Ximena, Santiago and Matteo are fantastic people and they make you feel part of the family from the very first day, they do their work with love and they share with the members of the group all their knowledge about the world of ancestral medicine and about their culture. They also taught me the correct way to take the medicine and how to have respect for it, which I appreciated very much. Matteo also organised many activities for us, from yoga to singing and playing instruments…I must say that after leaving Casa del Sol I really feel like a new person with the ability to see things in a better way and to live the present in a better way. For this reason I would like to thank and recommend the Casa del Sol family to everyone. Aah I forgot Casa del Sol is located in a wonderful place, between the green of the forest and the waters of a beautiful river.
