Learn More About the Medicines
What is Ayahuasca?
“Ayahuasca” is the Quechua word for both the vine (Banisteriopsis caapi) and the sacred tea made from it, traditionally combined with Chacruna leaves. It contains harmine, harmaline, and tetrahydroharmine. Used by Amazonian tribes for centuries, it opens portals to emotional and spiritual healing. Our vine grows on the property, and we prepare the medicine in the traditional way.
What is San Pedro?
San Pedro (Trichocereus pachanoi) is a sacred cactus native to the Andes of Ecuador. It carries masculine energy and helps us open our hearts and expand our connection with all life. We also grow this cactus on the land, and ceremonies are done with great reverence.
What is Kambo?
Kambo is a powerful healing ritual that uses the secretion of the giant monkey frog (Phyllomedusa bicolor). Applied through small burns on the skin, Kambo detoxifies the body, boosts the immune system, and clears emotional blocks. It’s used for deep physical and energetic purification.

June 27, 2026 at 2:30 pmA Transformative Journey Back to Self
This retreat is so much more than an opportunity to experience ayahuasca- it is an opportunity to return to yourself.
From the moment I arrived, I felt nurtured, supported, and held as I journeyed deeper into the many healing opportunities offered throughout the retreat. From the nourishing food they served to the sacred healing ceremonies, such as the limpia, I felt my protective shell begin to crack and my soul courageously step forward to release what no longer served me. Like a snake shedding its skin, I emerged ready to begin again.
The Tsáchila community is truly inspiring in their dedication to preserving their traditions, customs, and shamanic healing practices. They are incredibly humble, kind, and welcoming. The shamans give you the space to do your own inner work, yet they remain ever-present- quietly watching over you and energetically supporting you as you move deeper into your healing journey.
At times, I felt as though I had stepped into another world, one where the Earth itself speaks to us and supports us through its healing energies. The connection to nature, spirit, and community created an environment unlike anything I have experienced before.
I am deeply grateful to the shamans and their families for their generosity, wisdom, and care. The healing I received through their offerings has left a lasting impact on my life, and I will carry the lessons and insights from this experience with me for years to come. I will return !

June 26, 2026 at 8:24 pmI spent a week at the Awakening Ayahuasca Retreat. I was met with open hands and open hearts.
Looking back, saying yes to this trip was one of the best things I ever did. What I expected to be more of a personal reset turned into so much more I feel like I have found a new family and a second place to call home.
Ceremonies were held professionally and very personally it was never rushed nor performative. The Tsachilla family carried their knowledge with pride and their kindness made it easy to surrender to the process knowing I was looked after. Even the meals almost felt like daily ceremonie of connection.
I came home a lot lighter, clearer and more at peace than I’ve been in a long time. This isn’t a holiday you take, it’s a path back to yourself.

June 25, 2026 at 8:20 amSpending a week at the Awakening Ayahuasca Retreat was truly transformative, and I can confidently say it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. This experience went far beyond personal growth; it felt like I gained a second family and returned to a place that felt like home.
From the moment I arrived, the sense of community was palpable. Each ceremony was an intimate affair, infused with deep intention and reverence. The facilitators, with their vast wisdom and genuine warmth, guided us through each experience, ensuring we felt safe and supported. Every meal was not just nourishment but a celebration of culture and connection, prepared with love and care.
The attention to detail was remarkable. The serene surroundings, the thoughtful layout of the retreat space, and the rituals we engaged in were all designed to foster a sense of belonging and healing. The villagers approached each moment with open hearts, embodying a spirit of generosity that resonated deeply with all participants.
I left feeling rejuvenated, with a profound sense of peace and clarity. I can hardly wait to return for another round of ceremonies, connection, and personal exploration. This retreat is not just a getaway; it’s a journey back to oneself and to a vibrant, loving community.

June 13, 2026 at 5:59 amLife-Changing, Safe, and Deeply Healing — AwakeningsAyahuasca Exceeded My Hopes
I attended a week-long retreat with AwakeningsAyahuasca and it was one of the most profound, thoughtfully run experiences of my life. From the first contact through post-retreat integration, every detail reflected deep care, professionalism, and respect for the medicine.
: The shamans and Stephanie (translator) combine traditional wisdom with modern safety standards — grounded, compassionate, and highly experienced. Medical screening and attentive monitoring were routine, which made me feel secure throughout.
Sacred space retreat grounds were peaceful, clean, and intentionally designed for inner work. Night ceremonies felt reverent and held; daytime spaces encouraged reflection, journaling, and gentle community connection.: Clear guidance, culturally respectful ritual, and individualized support helped participants navigate their responses.
Integration & aftercare: Integration sessions were practical and insightful — tools, frameworks, and one-on-one time to make sense of insights and translate them into lasting change. The Tsachila village is indigenous community. they are authentic, nonjudgmental, and supportive. The community honor indigenous traditions while providing transparent information about expectations, and preparation
I left with clearer priorities, emotional release I’d struggled with for years, and practical integration tools. The experience was intense at times, but it consistently felt held and purposeful. I will return to continue what I have learned and remain in contact. Today and Always. Thank you to my new friends of the Tsachila community continued love and blessing until we meet again.

June 4, 2026 at 9:35 amSpent 6 days at the retreat and it was a once in a life time experience. I did not come with any specific expectations but I got a lot of insights into my past and how I can be better in my life.
It is run by the indigenous family who are trained since they were kids. These rituals are part of their culture and I wanted to do it at a place that’s true to their traditions and not a guest shaman who just comes for a week long retreat. Its not westernized like most expensive places you might find in other countries. This is the only retreat center that has flexible dates where you can pick your own dates.
Stefany was great with communication and answered all my questions prior to booking. They treated me like family and I highly recommend them if you are looking into your spiritual journey. It’s in the woods with a river nearby so be prepared for a lot of bugs/mosquitoes even after applying bug spray, which is to be expected. I didn’t think this through but they were kind and offered calming lotion and their own traditional medicine which helped a lot. Overall, a great place to explore your inner self.
