Allpa Mama Healing

Malacatos, Ecuador

Hello! Thanks for being here.

At Allpa Mama (Mother Earth) Healing we offer small, safe, loving retreats for healing, cleansing and connection with ourselves, our Mother Earth and the universe. We are Miguel and Katie, an Ecuadorian-American couple who run these retreats. We utilize several sacred plant medicines – Ayahuasca, San Pedro, Vilca, Tobacco, and work with traditional healers from the Andes and jungle of Ecuador. We incorporate various healing modalities to create a holistic healing experience, and try to connect guests with the local culture and people.

We are not a large commercial center – we have a maximum of 6 guests in our retreats, and often work 1:1 with people too. We get to know each other very personally, and the goal of our retreats is to come together like family, everyone teaching, learning, helping and empowering each other.

Our retreats are very safe, as they are very small, and are led by a male and female guide in the ceremonies. We make our Ayahuasca with a combination of the vine- Banisteriopsis caapi, and Chakruna leaves – nothing else is added; again, very safe.

Our goal is to help support and give back to Mother Earth. A percent of the profits goes towards the reforestation of sacred plants in southern Ecuador.

Unfortunately, the male owner of the business named Miguel has been fired from other retreat centers for sexual misconduct and general malbehavior.

When I was there, I asked him questions that I felt would inform me about such a medicine process. The only reason I was at this place was due to another acquaintance; I would never have chosen it. In any case, he stared at me like a person on drugs and said, “the medicine is the medicine.”

I witnessed him falling in a pool drunk.

He appeared drunk most of the time.

I felt very unsafe there and I would not recommend anyone go there, particularly not women seeking to avoid assault.

1000% recommend this retreat! And any retreat held by Katie . Great for newcomers or those experienced in plant medicine.

The retreats Katie holds come with so much support, thoughtfulness, and kindness put into them. She has such a sweet, kind, gentle soul and is a pleasure to be around. She stayed with us the at the retreat, guided us throughout town (which was a huge help b/c our Spanish was definitely lacking…), and taught us so much more. We loved her presence so much we invited her to come along for the rest of our time in Ecuador!

If you’re hesitant on booking a retreat, trying plant medicine, or going to Ecuador, this is the retreat for you! I can’t say enough how great and supportive the environment of this retreat was. Come with an open mind and open heart. The rest will be taken care of! ❤️
