Our 9 day and 11 day ayahuasca retreats are designed to give you a balanced experience. We have ayahuasca ceremonies every other night and in between there are activities to integrate your experiences and insights. There is also ample free time to reflect, to enjoy the beauty of the jungle, to visit the gorgeous beaches, and just to relax, let go, and enjoy the pure bliss of the moment.

We have extensive experience integrating ayahuasca, psychology, shamanism, self development, modified states of consciousness, and various other modalities. We are present at all times and are dedicated in supporting you with loving care, attention, safety, and respect. The activities include workshops focused on spiritual development. The techniques covered in the workshops can be practiced even after the retreat to continue the journey of personal growth. Some of the topics include inner child integration, life progression, discovering the source of your blockages and the resources to overcome them. Another very important part of the retreat are the Yoga sessions in the morning which greatly enrich the ayahuasca experiences at night.

Spirit Vine & TheVine Center previously known as Ayahuasca-Healing have been created by Silvia Polivoy. She received her license in clinical psychology and had a private practice in Buenos Aires, Argentina for several years until she began to feel the need to make a transition from studying and healing the mind to exploring the worlds of Spirit. This took her away from the busy city streets to the more tranquil life in the jungle, moving to Brazil where in 2004 she co-founded the TheVine Center, a trans-denominational and inter-faith spiritual center located in the state of Bahia.

The nature of our nonprofit center is philosophical, religious, mystical, spiritual, educational, and cultural. All the retreats’ income’ serves to maintain the center grounds, create employment for the local community, and help preserve the jungle, having replanted thousands of native trees over the years to give but one example.

The retreats take place inside of 39 acres of lush preserved area. It is about 7 miles from Itacaré on the coast of Bahia. Our location is only minutes away from beautiful coastal beaches, which back onto the Mata Atlántica, the second largest rainforest in Brazil.

The experience of sacred tea ceremonies can be challenging for some, deeply religious for others, but profound all around. Please note that we have several programs to offer and the plant ceremonies are always optional and not required to partake in during any of our retreats. The plant ceremonies begin in the evening and go through the night. The group dynamic is very important and there will be facilitators to look after participants throughout. There will be plenty of time for group discussions and also time alone to reflect on the experiences elicited by the spirit vine tea for those that wish to partake in the plant ceremonies.

ayahuasca vine

At the retreat center we grow our own ayahuasca vine and chacruna plants organically! We also have an organic garden to source vegetables for the food prepared during the retreat. We have pure spring water for drinking and also coconut water, juices, and a variety of teas.

delicious cuisine

During all our programs we follow a strict (though delicious) diet. The meals are completely vegan, gluten-free, and nutritionally balanced, prepared by our in-house chef who has specialized in vegan cuisine and has a post-graduation in functional nutrition. They include plenty of fresh vegetables cooked with delicious herbs and spices, luscious fresh tropical fruits, salads, and grains.

A note about sexual abstinence: this varies from culture to culture; some recommending as long as 30-40 days while others as little as one day or none at all like here in Brazil. For energetic purposes we recommend sexual abstinence during the retreat as well as 3 days before it begins and 3 days after the retreat concludes. As well, a drug free and no salt diet with no red meat, pork or heavy alcohol use for the same amount of time is optimal.

We fully expect you have questions about the retreats, programs and the facilities we offer. Please feel free to explore our website or watch our videos and write to us to come to one of our retreats.

A truly transformative & what felt like magical adventure. Everything about the retreat from start to finish has been well-thought out & finely tuned to provide the best possible experience for all guests. Silvia and the team are true professionals. I have left a significantly wiser person for my time at Spirit Vine & I only wish I could have stayed longer!
Tip 1: Do Silvia’s prep work to make the most of the retreat. The better prepared you are, the easier it will be to learn the nature of the vine
Tip 2: Bring a few pairs of long trousers & long socks (not shorts & ankle socks like me) to avoid being a target for mosquitoes

    Life-changing and Impactful
I highly recommend Spirit Vine Center in Brazil. Having tried Ayahuasca in another center in Costa Rica, I can say that Spirit Vine provides the best support one needs to dive deep into this amazing psychospiritual work. I am a psychotherapist and spiritual counselor myself, so I had high expectations that were thoroughly met in this retreat center!
Silvia, the retreat’s facilitator and owner, has a very solid experience and skills in both the spiritual world and the human psyche. She is able to provide the safest, long lasting results experience in a group setting.
Each of the staff was a phenomenal addition to the experience and made us feel part of a family, the accommodations are just fantastic, nestled in the Brazilian jungle. The food nourishes body and soul, ensuring that your overall wellbeing is supported.
I loved it, coming back in December this year to continue my healing journey!

There is always a sense of uncertainty when booking an Ayahuasca experience. Everything I had read about SpiritVine seemed to tick all the important boxes: Carefully vetted participants, diet guidelines for preparation, a well thought out experience that combined workshops, integration and body care activities like yoga and massage. The promise of the retreat and the reviews were compelling. Having returned home from the most transformative experience in my 55 years I can confirm that SpiritVine is the real deal. Something incredible unfolded in me during this experience that was so profound and meaningful to me that it is hard to put into words. Having spent a lifetime on retreats and workshops hoping to uncover unknown barriers I had finally broken through and seen something breathtaking on the other side. Looking back I can see how this experience was made possible by the care and attention by Silvia and her team. It is the culmination of a life works dedicated to bringing alive the ayahuasca experience in a safe and supportive environment. There is such a dedication to excellence: The ceremony room, the music, the food, the accomodation, the gardens. Everything is there for you to take a deep and safe dive into yourself. What is on the other side is truley worth the investment. It was the greatest gift I have ever given myself.

I wouldn’t do ayahuasca anywhere else. Spirit vine is the gold standard when it comes to self healing, self empowerment, understanding how to work with the medicine and holding space for trauma healing. I learnt so much about myself and what I need to do to improve my life, behaviour and happiness. I am in awe of the amazing retreat Silvia has created here. Noor and Miro were fantastic too, creating a safe and relaxing environment for everyone. I went to spirit vine solo, with no previous experience of ayahuasca and was so grateful for the warm welcome and inclusive environment. Ayahuasca is an incredibly powerful medicine and not to be taken lightly. Silvia’s psychotherapy expertise and unique workshops were hugely reassuring and helpful, teaching us how to use and interact with the medicine, especially in difficult moments. When people say it’s like 9 years of therapy in 9 days, they aren’t wrong! The nature is stunning, I felt so healthy after the diet of vegan, organic food. I am also grateful to have met a group of such wonderful people and new friends. I will definitely be returning!

    Safest Healing Ayahuasca Retreat Imaginable

If you’re looking for a healing and very safe experience with a teacher who is both a psychotherapist as well as highly trained with Ayahuasca, this is the place! The retreat environment is beautiful, nestled in the Atlantic rainforest of Bahia, Brazil. The accommodations are beautiful, very comfortable, clean and quiet. The support staff does an excellent job of holding the space during ceremonies and making sure everyone’s needs are cared for.

The teacher, Silvia, who owns this property also grows the plants and personally makes the Ayahuasca tea. Silvia has created an ultra safe experience for all attendees. The website has lots of information covering just about any question you might have. She provides workshops before ceremonies that help focus and prepare participants for the ceremonies. Following the ceremonies she holds integration circles to support integration of ceremony experiences. She is also available for Zoom sessions following the retreat for anyone wishing further integration support.

I cannot say enough about Silvia being perfect for this experience. She is a wonderful mix of strength and the positive mother — able to hold this sacred space so participants feel safe to let go to all that Mother Ayahuasca has to teach. She is trained in both traditional use of Ayahuasca as well as a formally trained psychotherapist. Having been in this field I was especially happy to experience how very open she is with everyone which greatly supported my process.

The group I was in had 17 people (I believe the current maximum). She is selective about who she accepts in for health and safety reasons. An Ayahuasca diet is highly recommended before and provided during the retreat (the food is outstanding). She carefully counsels about avoiding certain foods and supplements that could interfere with the Ayahuasca tea.

It took me years to find a place I felt safe about exploring Ayahuasca. Spirit Vine Retreat met and exceeded all my expectations.

Thank you Silvia, Noor, Miro and Spirit Vine Retreats!
