At Sapan Inka, we believe participating in an Ayahuasca retreat is a powerful opportunity for profound energetic and spiritual cleansing and healing. An Ayahuasca experience can be immensely favorable for those embarking on a journey of transformation and spiritual development. Our unique model is a conscious synthesis of the millenary wisdom of Amazonian medicine and the principles of depth and transpersonal psychology. We are not a center for spiritual tourism or mere Ayahuasca experiences; we are a dedicated space for exploring the deep psyche, practicing ancestral Amazonian medicine, and supporting transformative processes.
We distinguish ourselves through our philosophy of minimal interference and the unwavering shamanic and spiritual support provided in our ceremonies. Our commitment to ethics and professionalism is paramount. We believe an Ayahuasca ceremony is an opening to the reality of the soul and a world of sacred images. For this reason, we practice minimal interference during your experience of expanded states of consciousness, allowing the healing intelligence of Ayahuasca and your own inner being to guide the process. This is not abandonment or a lack of warmth; it is a conscious act of respect and trust in your innate capacity to heal and in the divine power of the medicine itself.
The transformative power of Ayahuasca is fully realized through a structured integration process. At Sapan Inka, our psychotherapeutic integration is more than a simple conversation; it is a rigorous process designed to help you assimilate, process, and effectively integrate your experiences. We provide a space for you to understand the intricate symbolic language of your visions, converting profound insights into tangible and lasting change. This is how the spiritual revelations from the ceremonies are bridged with your daily life, ensuring the journey leads to genuine personal growth.
To navigate this journey, rigorous preparation is essential. An Ayahuasca experience can be incredibly challenging, and its potency demands thorough mental, emotional, and spiritual readiness. It is crucial for participants to understand that this is not a shortcut, but a deep and profound inner work that requires commitment and maturity.
Given the serious nature of our work, we are aware that our approach may not satisfy everyone’s expectations. Those who seek a more superficial, less confrontational experience or group activities may find other centers more suitable. Our model is designed for individuals committed to holistic healing and willing to embark on a serious psychospiritual path. This is why our groups are intentionally small, to ensure the personalized and ethical attention that is the cornerstone of our years of experience and dedication.
At Sapan Inka, our commitment is to support you on your journey, respecting the authenticity of your process and providing a safe and professional environment for a genuine transformation.
If you wish to explore the details of our retreats or simply prefer a more personal connection before beginning your journey, we invite you to schedule a 15-minute video call with us.

January 2, 2023 at 1:43 pmI attended a five-day ayahuasca/San Pedro retreat at Sapan Inka in July 2022. Six months later I can report that the experience changed my life for the better in innumerable ways. Erik and Nilda, who run Sapan Inka together, are kind, generous, welcoming, and deeply intuitive. I always felt safe in their presence. Their home and the surrounding property and the temple are beautiful healing spaces. The food was delicious. Erik and Nilda are skilled therapists whose guidance was crucial in helping me navigate the powerful and confusing images/ideas that arose during the ceremonies. They’ve stayed in touch and remained willing to talk via email or Zoom about anything that comes up. Especially after speaking to friends who attended different retreats that had far more attendees at one time, I’m very grateful to have had the close personal attention that only a place like Sapan Inka can provide.
Since others in the comments have mentioned the cold as a negative, I’ll weigh in and say that although I’m extremely cold sensitive, I bundled up and did just fine. Everywhere in the Sacred Valley is cold in July. Erik and Nilda made sure we were all comfortable and had what we needed. I always felt safe and well cared for. There’s no better place I could have chosen than Sapan Inka. I give Erik and Nilda the highest possible recommendation.

January 2, 2023 at 12:28 pmI’d like to start off by saying that I have always been extremely apprehensive and skeptical of any psychedelics. This being so because I’m hypersensitive to everything and I am afraid of how extreme of a ‘journey’ I’d undergo should I participate. January 2021 I experienced a life changing trauma/loss that prompted me into looking for therapeutic methods to help me in my healing journey. My partner has always talked about Aayhuasca, but as mentioned I’ve always been skeptical. In late January of 2021 after attending several therapy sessions with psychologists, group sessions for grief and counseling, nothing seemed to offer any type of relief or a light at the end of the tunnel. So I began researching retreat centers to have a visit with mother Aya. I came across Sapan Inka online and after a bit of research my partner and I decided to make the jump and booked the trip. I will be very honest and admit up until we arrived I was sure we were going somewhere remote and possibly getting our organs harvested! I was that terrified. Once we stepped foot on the land, we were greeted by Erik, Nilda and both family dogs at the door with such warmth it immediately put me at ease. I fell in love with the compound, a little oasis. Nilda with her nurturing love, Erik with his calm demeanor who’s voice and presence alone brought me immediate peace. Within the hour I knew we had made the right decision. I owe my healing journey and where I am today to that entire experience. The hosts, the house, the foods, and the group of people who became friends…It is hard to put into words how amazing of a journey it was, intense, emotional, grounding, but life changing in all the positive ways. It’s been over 8 months and I can still feel the effects of the plant medicine. Even though I’ve had several other traumatic experiences in the last month, I have found myself to be more positive, less depressed and more willing to be productive and tackle whatever is coming my way. I made a vow to make this an annual trip and I cannot wait until I see Erik and Nilda again. I highly recommend it.
Erik/Nilda – gracias por todo!

January 2, 2023 at 11:24 amI went in the retreat on September 2022. Eric and Nilda’s place is amazing, really cozy and confortable. They are amazing people who treat you with so much love and kindness. I had an amazing ayahuasca experience, I learned so much about myself and made understand many other things that I was not even aware of. I am already planning my next trip to Peru and will definetly come to Sapan Inka.

January 2, 2023 at 2:27 amI had my first ceremony in 2022, it was definitely an eye opening experience for me. I am grateful for having Erik & Nilda with me throughout the journey. Their warmth and kindness (did I mention the cute dogs?!) really relaxed me from day 1 and I trusted them to take care of the group. Words cannot express fully of what I’d experienced, I think it’s best for everyone to find out what’s in there for them. Don’t anticipate too much, don’t worry too much, just be. Remember to always keep an open mind and let the experience show you what you may not even know you need 😀

July 7, 2022 at 7:52 pmMy very first day at Sapan Inka, Erik said “to think of your time here as the ending of one chapter in your life and the beginning of a new one”. Six months later this remains to be true. My time at Sapan Inka helped me to shed layers of doubt that I have collected over the years and to feel gratitude. In my experience I cannot explain what it is I saw, but what I felt was the most important. Erik helped me interpret my visions with our evening talks that I am so grateful for and still thinking of. Nilda is such a kind and respectful Shamen as well. She cooks the food and gives you the advice you need for your days of fasting. At the end of my trip we spoke for awhile and this conversation is so precious to me.
I really love Sapan Inka. It is a clean and cozy place with two professional Shamans that will help you feel good during your stay and give you the best advice. If mother Ayuaska ever calls my name again I couldn’t imagine going to another place. What makes Erik and Nilda stand out is that they truly care about your individual experience. Yes there is a business component to staying at their place and them taking care of you, but you can really feel that they are there for you.
Thank you
