October 1, 2014 at 12:00 amI attended the ceremony last Friday and it was an unforgettable experience. No joke, this group has to be the best musical performers for ayahuasca ceremonies in the whole world. As a musician I was blown away at the quality of the performance in pitch black… under a powerful hallucinogen no less.
I loved the talk that Diego gave to the group before and after the ceremony. I have an insanely sensitive bullshit detector and Diego didn’t trigger any apprehension in me whatsoever. Truly remarkable that a talented musician who changes lives on a weekly basis doesn’t come across as arrogant whatsoever. Clearly he takes his own medicine, literally and metaphorically.
As for the concerns in the reviews below about safety… it was obvious from before the ceremony who would be having a negative reaction to the medicine, and to those people I wanted to ask “what were you expecting?”. This stuff is no joke, and you should seriously prepare both physically and mentally for it. If you were going to jump out of a plane you would make sure your parachute is packed properly right? Physically you should be fit, and mentally you should be well versed in meditation, if not some experience with other psychedelics. You should be able to sit tall and breathe deep. They have very strong ayahuasca here, but just by breathing deep I wasn’t tortured like some of the others… I attribute that to taking the experience extremely seriously beforehand.

September 2, 2014 at 12:00 amGreat experience. The temple building is amazing and is located on a very beautiful, peaceful, private property. The shaman and the musicians where spectacular and helpful. The group size for the ceremony i took part in was about 15 people, which seemed maybe a little big, but everything worked out.

May 10, 2014 at 12:00 amI would definitely not recommend visiting this company for your ayahuasca work. They do not hold emotionally safe and responsible ceremonies. There are no volunteers to watch over the participants in the ceremony should they need anything. You are essentially left to your own devices. One person administers the ayahuasca to twenty people. That’s a large group when there’s only one person to oversee everything and that person is drinking himself. I saw ceremonies where it took an inordinate amount of time for participants to get help when they needed it. Diego “the shaman” is very supportive when everything is going well for you, but when it isn’t that’s pretty much your problem. In an attempt to appear spiritually wise he merely nods when you are telling him about your experiences and doesn’t offer anything to comfort you. Sometimes silence is just silence, not wisdom. After a particularly harrowing ceremony, I was not assisted in any way by Diego or his team. Only another workshop participant came to my aid, to whom I am very grateful. We were also given rather large doses of ayahuasca to start with, which made it more of a tripping experience rather than a medicinal one. I came to do work, not trip out. When I spent the entire next day purging, I was abandoned as the group took off for an excursion all day. Diego did not check in on me in the morning to see how I was doing before leaving. I was also left without food that day until everyone arrived at dinner time. I was incredibly ill and at my wits end with no means to contact anybody. When I told him that I would not be drinking with him anymore and that he had abandoned me all day alone with no one to check in on me, he had nothing to say. This man is a business man and a charlatan. He is very charismatic, claims to be a Buddhist, but this man is not genuinely interested in the well being of those who are participating in his workshops. As the previous reviewer stated, they were scolded for seeking help? That is completely unacceptable and not a loving and safe environment to do this work in. I have thankfully since found a good home to continue my relationship with ayahuasca. Please beware. This man is not who he appears to be.

April 16, 2014 at 12:00 amWent with my father and participated in an Aya ceremony. There was around 20 people in the wasi, 7 or so people with their own instruments, I counted: 3 guitars, a ukulele, 3 pan flutes, 2 native american flutes, a calimba, and a mandolin. I may be forgetting others. My point is, there were many experienced (apprentices?) trippers who all aided in creating a great atmosphere with their voices and instruments, making beautiful music. In addition, the retreat area is very pretty and is only a 20-30 minute taxi ride from Cuzco.
A room was provided for my brother who wasn’t partaking in the ceremony. All in all it cost us $120 ($60 per person) to sit in one a one night ceremony. This was a great deal as they provided supervision, Ayahuasca, and a light breakfast in the morning of lentil soup. They also provided blankets, buckets, and Agua de Florida.
One negative: my father began to choke on his puke and I asked for help, as I was very scared. They came and fixed the situation and helped put him into a position to clear his throat, however the shaman scolded me for possibly frightening the others in the ceremony with my cry for help. To this day I have no idea what else I should have done and the shaman never explained what I could have done differently. So my advice to you: yeah, go ahead and ask for help if someone is choking… you may get scolded but it’s better than having loved one choke to death on their puke.
I still give 5 stars because everything was excellent and done in a loving atmosphere. One unfortunate circumstance for the entire group doesn’t warrant taking a star away, in my opinion. .
