June 9, 2024 at 9:12 pmAs my title suggests, it is really hard to put into words the amount of good this retreat did, not only for me personally but also for my family back home. I don’t typically write reviews, but I feel the work that happens behind closed doors in this piece of heaven on earth is too good not to share.
Like many other reviewers mentioned in their testimonials, there’s no question about how beautiful the place is, the cabins, and the people who make this happen. However, the one thing that stood out above everything else was the commitment of these people to help heal strangers at the beginning of the retreat and transform them into family members by the end of the process.
I have never been a spiritual or religious person and always thought that if there was a god or a higher power, that entity must have forgotten to add a spoonful of whatever it is that makes people believe in something they can’t see or touch but can “feel.” Today, I am full of gratitude and love, especially self-love, which I had lost for more than 30 years. Today, I can feel what is known in religion as faith, and it feels amazing.
In just 10 days, thanks to the professionalism and commitment of not only Wara (the shaman) and her helper Kevin but also volunteers like Sarita and Laith, who at one point were looking for healing themselves and decided to stick around a little longer to help others find answers and healing, I was given the answers and tools to continue on this path of healing, love, life, and all the good things.
We really need to spread the word and let those like my old self, who have tried everything and are hopeless, know about this amazing medicine available to them courtesy of Pacha Mama.

June 8, 2024 at 8:07 pmOh my goodness – what an absolute treat Pisatahua and all of the healers and staff are! You will be so incredibly loved, cared for, and supported in this space – coming from someone who did not have the best first experience with Ayahuasca, this place is an absolute breath of fresh air and I cannot think of one single thing I would change.
The nature itself is a force of healing and the forest SO magical and alive! The plant dieta was perfect for me and the food was honestly delicious and plentiful- maybe no spices, but you can taste the love though. Wara and her assistants Kevin and Sarah blew my mind with their talent and intuitiveness.
Wara truly is a very special healer working deeply from the heart and always helping me get very clear on the messages from Madre Ayahuasca and how to keep moving forward. She made me feel safe, considered, and seen – especially as someone who is SO sensitive to everything, Wara really took the time to feel me out and help gauge the right doses for me to have the best healing experience with Aya and her beautiful allies. It meant a lot to me to receive SO much care from everyone here!
Erik can’t be left out either – always SO willing to help and answer questions and just so truly loving and caring about our experiences. This place is a miracle and a gem! Sending so much love and gratitude to the Pisatahua familia – the heaviness of my mind can now rest easy and my inner child can laugh and play!
Thank you thank you!

April 30, 2024 at 7:50 amThe 12 day retreat Plant Medicine and Chan Mi Gong was such a deep healing experience I could not have imagined before
The valuable body effects of Chan Mi Gong I have experienced before, but a plant medicine diet was new to me. Since I am a shamanic practitioner I am familiar with connecting to plant spirits, but the work of Ayahuasca, carefully and responsibly conducted under the guidance of Wara Wara Puma, revealed the true meaning of the word ‘masterplant’ to me.
Chan Mi Gong and Plant Medicine unite the spiritual/soul and the body level of our existence, making it possible to embody the experience and leading to a greater feeling of wholeness. The ceremonial work with masterplants and the body work with Chan Mi Gong are supporting, enriching and complementing each other. The old techniques of Chan Mi Gong prepare the body for the ceremonial work, making it permeable and receptive. And on the other hand, after deep ceremonies, it helps to come back fully into the body again and to really be present.
I am deeply grateful for having being able to work with Wara and Zuzana, who are both masters in their areas. Their experience, knowledge, wisdom and passionate and compassionate work fill me with a huge respect. There was not a moment, a situation or an experience where someone from the group was left alone to deal with something he could not understand. We had been safe, guided and taken care of all the times – during ceremonies, excersises and all the times in between. Understanding, healing, integrating was done with their care.
Personally I felt like long missed puzzle pieces of my life fell into their place and I was able to see myself and my life in such a clear way I have never done before.
The whole experience would not have been possible without the retreat itself and Erik and his family and team. Erik is not only running the retreat in a highly ethical way, he is a host who ensures that everything appears if it is needed and he is a master of the logistics incl travel organisation and flight bookings. Whatever it was, he could be asked for. When my aeroplane could not land in Bolivia and I was diverted to another city, without being able to sort out my rebookings or accommodation (because my spanish is very poor), I just called him and he managed everything for me. Thank you!
The retreat itself is in a beautiful location at a lake. The ceremonial center is the spacious Maloka, the cabins are just perfect for reconnecting to nature, to oneself and spending time alone. I stayed in the garden cabin, sharing it with 3 other people and enjoyed every moment of it. The shared garden cabin has no private bathroom, but the public sanitary rooms were a couple of meters away and I have to say that I never expected such luxurious sanitary rooms in the jungle!
The food is prepared according to the traditional plant diet. Always fresh and always plenty of it.
The people working in the retreat are exceptionally friendly and attentive, contributing to the overall atmosphere of safety, cozyness and beauty.
So I would like to thank again all the people who have been there for me: Zuzana and Wara, Erik and his family, the staff and as well the great helpers during the ceremonies: Sara and Marlene.
It was my first experience with a plant diet. It will not be the last. But I do not need to look for another place – I found the perfect place.

March 4, 2024 at 1:07 pmA miraculous first experience
This retreat definitely belongs to the most exceptional experiences of my life. When I embarked on this journey, I did not know what to expect. This being my first plant medicine retreat, I stepped into the adventure with an open heart and mind. Even before arrival, I already felt very safe. The communication with the hosts was really clear and welcoming from the start and I am incredibly thankful for the great care that has been provided by all facilitators of this retreat.
Wara is an amazing and skilled healer, who knows how to mediate impressively well between the different dimensions of reality and has a most beautiful heart. Her soft, divine feminine energy and kindness provided the right space for me to heal a lot of themes regarding my own womanhood. Never did I know that so much transformation could occur in just 10 days. Thank you Pisatahua for offering these beautiful retreats and for protecting this stunning part of the Amazon. Wara, thank you for guiding me and Marlene thank you for your wonderful support. All of you are a true gift.

February 8, 2024 at 12:03 pmSo grateful that I found this plant medicine retreat center. The healer, Wara Wara Puma, was definitely the highlight. She has such a depth of knowledge, wisdom and strength, yet has a kind, humble and approachable manner. She is incredibly skilled in facilitating both individual and group healing process. Her assistants, Mario, Sara and Cinthia, were also outstanding. The small group size made it possible to have more individual attention as well as the opportunity to bond as a group. The incredible jungle of setting of Aquicuana Lake Reserve definitely heightened the profundity of the experience. The ceremonial space—a gorgeous traditional “maloka” was perfect. The accommodations were pleasant, clean and comfortable: perfectly suited to the jungle setting—and the food, while medicinal, was always tasty and satisfying. Erik and Sasha (owners) are great with logistical details. They even went above and beyond for the better part of a day to help me navigate a lost passport situation. You will be very cared for here, and that level of care enables trust and deep work. I definitely got the experience that I hoped for—and beyond!
Thank you Pisatahua!
