Welcome to Harmonica Retreat (formerly Ayahuasca Retreat Guacamayo), perched upon the breathtaking overlooks of Medellin. With a solid five-star rating, our center has been here to facilitate transformation and self-discovery for the past three years. Here, we are not just a retreat; we are a container for your healing journey.
At the heart of our approach is the sacred ayahuasca ceremony, a profound experience that mirrors the complexities of life. It demands trust—in the shaman, the ayahuasca, yourself, and the entire process. Just like life’s lessons in rhythm, harmony, and growth, ayahuasca offers deep insights into love, healing, and personal evolution.
Our founder was motivated by the transformative impact ayahuasca had on his own life and opened this retreat to share these profound changes with others. While ayahuasca is a powerful catalyst, we believe true transformation comes from your everyday choices, actions, and the environment you cultivate. Ayahuasca illuminates paths, reveals blind spots, and supports you in tackling emotional challenges, guiding you toward profound personal evolution.
We are committed to safety and support, offering a medically supervised environment where individuals explore significant changes. Our process prepares you thoroughly for the ayahuasca ceremonies with sharing circles, holotropic breathwork to transition from head to body to heart, and ice baths to connect with your body’s intelligence and push beyond comfort zones. This preparation builds trust in yourself, the group, the facilitators, and the space.
After the retreat, our commitment continues. We foster an online community with monthly sessions helping you maintain the connections and changes ignited here.

June 10, 2025 at 8:59 amHighest recommendation.
Powerful ceremonies led by people who are pure of heart and sophisticated in their appreciation of the ineffable. Oliver, Sergio, Kevin, Jenna, the rest of the team, all impart their own personal touches in the best ways possible. It is a deeply personal experience. Mine was harrowing and darker than most, and I’m glad about that. My peers were truly insightful and inspiring.
Details related to accommodation, security, food, planned activities, etc, are all exactly as they should be. I would not change a single thing from my experience.
Provided there are no medical contraindications, I recommend this for anyone who wants to understand themselves and others better, those with anxiety or depression who are unsatisfied by western approaches, and those who feel stuck or uncertain in life. I especially recommend this for those coming from a typical western, educated background, who are wary or skeptical of the more “woo-woo,” “spiritual” personalities. After this experience, you may find yourself shifting your world view in that direction, however.

January 6, 2025 at 12:54 pmWhere do I begin.. My experience at Aya Retreat was transformational. Oliver and Luna welcomed us into the retreat with so much kindness and care. The entire experience, from the staff, to the healthy food, the breathtaking views of the valley, Oliver’s guidance, and Oliver, Sergio, and his team’s dedication in leading the most beautiful ceremonies I’ve ever experienced, left me with a renewed love and hope for humanity. Throughout the entire ceremonial experiences I felt safe and supported by the entire team, which I think is extremely important when working with this medicine. I feel a great shift within me after this retreat and I’m excited to see the continued benefits of this medicine. I stayed in a private room during my stay which was well worth it and made my stay there very comfortable, I’d highly recommend it! I can’t wait to return and work with these beautiful people again. Infinite thanks, gratitude, and love to Oliver, Sergio, and the team! Until next time!

September 24, 2024 at 4:38 pmIf you want to use ayahuasca as an excuse to visit a 5 star hotel, this is not the retreat for you. If you want to have a profound, authentic, and genuine experience with staff members that really care, (and at an affordable price) I don’t know if you can do better than this. I had an incredible experience and am returning home with several revelations I can apply to my life.

September 21, 2024 at 2:06 pmI cannot speak highly enough of this retreat! The location is stunning & peaceful, while still being close enough to Medellin to make it accessible. It was so glorious every day to be able to watch the mountains and valley and listen to the birds as you go through your healing journey. Oliver, Jenna and the whole team are so kind, wise, and make you feel so safe and loved the whole time. Kevin, the doctor and amazing musician, keeps you both spiritually attuned and medically informed. It is a small group so you feel seen and heard: everyone’s voice and experience matters. I highly recommend doing all the reading and “coursework” they suggest before the experience so you can go in fully ready to absorb all the lessons! They make it easy to prepare. By the time of the actual ceremony I felt so ready. During the ceremony, the guardians gave so much love and joy even if you were experiencing difficult trials from the medicine. After each ceremony, there was ample time for rest and reflection and integration. They’ve really dialed in the experience and the vibe! If I choose to do aya again (very likely!) I would return here for sure.

September 1, 2024 at 2:21 pmI had the privilege of attending a 1 week retreat in August. The staff (Oliver, Jenna, and others) are humble and truly care about your experience. It was a challenging yet very rewarding week, and I grew closer to other participants as the retreat progressed.
The plant medicine and shamanic healing has allowed me to make positive lifestyle changes. It allows for healing of generational trauma and childhood wounds. Taking part in a retreat of this nature can be scary or daunting, but it’s very much worth it coming out the other side.
I’d be happy to share my experience 1:1 with you – if you’re interested please DM me on LinkedIn. All the best on your journey!
