Why Avalon?
Avalon is a holistic healing centre in Barcelona and Ibiza (Spain), dedicated to self-discovery and profound inner journeys. Our retreats bring together the ancient wisdom of sacred medicines such as Ayahuasca, Magic Mushrooms, San Pedro, and Bufo Alvarius with modern practices of preparation, integration, and personalised care.
We follow a shamanic approach to the world of plant medicines, working with shamans from ancestral traditions of Brazil (Yawanawá, Huni Kuin, Mbyá Guaraní), Colombia (Kamëntsa, Kichwa, Pastos, Muisca, Cofán), and Peru (Quechua). Our mission is to create safe, contemporary, and refined spaces where participants can experience these medicines in the traditional Amazonian way.
With deep respect for ancestral knowledge, we complement it with tools that help non-indigenous participants gain the most from their experience and apply insights to everyday life. Preparation before the retreat builds confidence and clarity; our holistic programme introduces practices that foster wellbeing beyond the ceremony; and integration supports participants in maximising benefits while navigating any challenges that may arise afterwards.
Set and setting are two of the most critical factors in a psychedelic experience. At Avalon, safety and care are at the heart of everything we do. From the very beginning, participants are supported by a dedicated team, with a nearly one-to-one facilitator-to-guest ratio during retreats. Our team also includes a medical advisor, and we follow many of the safety guidelines recommended by ICEERS.
In adapting rituals that are not part of our own culture, we honour tradition while offering the highest level of comfort and beauty. This balance helps participants feel safe, surrender to the process, and embrace the full potential of a transformative journey.
What does a 6-day holistic Ayahuasca retreat include?
- 4 Ayahuasca ceremonies by experienced (>10 years) shamans trained in Colombia (Kamëntsa, Kichwa, Pastos, Muisca, and Cofán traditions), Peru (Quechua tradition), or Brazil (Yawanawá, Huni Kuin, Mbyá Guaraní traditions).
- 4 Rapé ceremonies (dried tobacco powder) – clearing the mind and cleansing the body and energy field, used in combination with Ayahuasca.
- 4 Integration workshops with a trained psychologist, combining diverse and creative methods, such as sharing circles, writing, art therapy, and ecstatic dance.
- 1 One-on-one integration session – Designed to bring your unique experience into your daily life and ensure lasting change.

Every single person working at Avalon has your absolute best interest in mind and puts their heart and soul into what they do. It was my first time doing both ayahuasca and bufo alvarius so I was quite nervous going into this experience, but with the love and compassion that flows through the Avalon family I felt so safe and supported throughout the entire journey. I would absolutely recommend Avalon to anyone who feels a calling to the medicine and is ready to begin their journey of healing, you won’t regret it.

They have created a perfect environment for spiritual growth and personal transformation. The location was stunning, the food fantastic and the ceremonies impossible to put into words. The process of being grouped together with strangers from around the world, growing together, feeling vulnerable collectively and gradually becoming like a family, was truly special. Overview:
It was loving, nurturing and safe journey the whole way through and everything was well thought from location to massage, food, music, coloring, integration circles, yoga, individual coaching session and post ceremony session. I highly recommend Avalon whether your going alone or with friends.

The minute we contacted Avalon, Sophia was the person that answers all your inquires and booking relations, she also books you a private call to know you personal situation/intention and go through any concerns you have in mind (She was so professional, lovely, calm and emphatic).
Benjo!
You meet Benjo on the bus once you have reached Barcelona to take you to the retreat, he is funny trying to break the ice with people which was so nice.
For me personally I was quiet and very reserved because I was so excited to get there in the other hand I am nervous! I am on my way to Aya!
You will see Benjo a lot during the day for different sessions.Accommodation! Arrival
Stunning location, you will live in a beautiful painting for 5 days that you will never want to leave. Pictures doesn’t give it justice. The rooms are clean, Airconditioned mine had a window which is nice for fresh weather.

You’ll be gathered for an induction; Alejandro will lead on running through the daily schedule and share his knowledge about the plant medicine, Shamans that will be joining/leading the ceremonies.

During the retreat you will be having a chromatic meal, every day will represent a different color for the set of food that will be served. I have never experienced that, and every plate was so artistically done.Ceremony Preparation:
Yoga session with Lala!
I recommend doing the yoga session with Lala because it gives you a nice stretch before the long exciting night! Lala had surprised us with beautiful live singing during her session (her voice and lyric were amazing and soothing)
You will be seeing Lala in different sessions along the day, and she was my one to one coach, that I scheduled on the third or fourth day to give myself time before I talk about my feelings, and she was great help in my journey! Like your talking to your girl with no judgment full of openness and she will tell you straight up. She helped me a lot!Face Painting with Sophia!
This was great time together have small chat with the group next to the fire and get cosy and relaxed.
Sophia the face artist she would ask you for your intention of the night and draw a beautiful drawing that helps that intention.Ceremony:
I felt very nervous at first, however the team of practitioners were all so loving, understanding and encouraging.
During the ceremony I felt so safe safe safe and that was the most important things I was worried about in Aya ceremonies.
The Ceremony was Magical! Beyond words… each night is different and each personal experience is different. However, the ceremony set up and the music the candles the flowers the fire … at some point I felt I was dreaming.

Are healers and they are every night with you during the ceremony they have beautiful voice together and Chris leads on so many songs his voice is amazing (and we are all waiting for their album). Also they watch over the participance during the night.Benjo!
Is a psychologist and a healer that focuses on educating people on masculine energy for Men and Women. He is also watching over the participance over night making sure everyone is ok.
You will see Benjo leading the integration circle with Lala to go over your ceremony experiences, please please please don’t miss these sessions, I only missed them when I had other private sessions booked.
Integration session will help you process and hear other people experiences.. it might help connect with other people on a deeper level by hearing their stories and its an open circle with no judgement.Katarina!! Oh

Alejandro is a healer and the maestro of all of this experience! He also joins every night during the ceremony, and makes sure everyone is ok and looked over. My personal experience and I’m so thankful for on the breathwork day I broke through an inner child work and he was their in best way possible and helped me through to navigate the pain and we talked about it after which was so helpful. This journey within — guided by Ayahuasca and held with such care by the incredible Avalon team and shamans — was truly profound. From the very first moment, I felt deep trust and safety, as if I was being gently carried through the entire process by experienced, compassionate hands. I was never alone. The venue itself radiates tranquility and grounding energy. Its peaceful surroundings created the perfect container for surrender, reflection, and healing. Every detail — from the space, to the program, to the way each ceremony and integration moment was thoughtfully held — supported the depth of this experience. I feel as if I moved a mountain within myself and closed a very painful chapter of my life. What unfolded went far beyond what I could have imagined. 4 years agoMy experience at Avalon was incredible. From the moment you arrive you can feel the love, care and detail that is put into every element of your stay. It's a lovely, spacious location with a lake, trees, hammocks, horses and more. There are various activities you can choose from such as yoga, massage and dance in addition to the ceremonies. They also have an amazing chef Maria who plans out chromatic meals each day based on the colors of the chakras. It was an incredible experience that I would recommend to anyone. The entire team made me feel incredibly welcomed, loved and cared for. Big thank you to Alejandro and everyone at Avalon!

3 months agoThis was my first ayahuasca experience, and I honestly couldn’t have chosen a better place. From the very beginning, everything felt incredibly well organized. I felt safe at all times, truly cared for, and supported in a very thoughtful way. The place itself is absolutely beautiful peaceful, surrounded by nature, and very comfortable. And the food… not only delicious but also very original and clearly prepared with so much attention and love. I’m leaving deeply grateful for the whole experience. 2 months agoThis is Healing, not Recreational retreat, beware!! People who decide to go to Avalon must simply remember that before reserving a seat! This is not to have fun (although you will have fun, but with the other guests and the Avalon Crew) or during one or more of the sessions. Healing, healing: I thought I had nothing to heal, aka "I am in good shape, good health, and no known psychological or physical issue". I went there for discovery, for getting closer to my Real Self, to my Soul, and also to have some fancy travel, to be honest. Well, no "fancy travel in the stars" for me (others participants had that), no, not this time. But, gosh, all the rest was stunning. And difficult. but believe, when you lose your ego, you become the REAL you. You accept and embrace life. You are finally happy without limit.
