Our Program
At Arkana, we create the space for you to get in touch with your truth, opening your path for deeper meaning and greater fulfillment in your life. We work with ancestral medicines such as Ayahuasca, San Pedro, Bufo Alvarius, Rapé , using the traditional practices of the indigenous cultures of the Peruvian Amazon. We currently operate two centers in Peru, one in the Peruvian Amazon and a second one in the Sacred Valley (close to Machu Picchu), and one in Mexico, the choice is yours.
With great respect for the plants and the knowledge and healing that comes with them, our lineage of Shipibo shamans set the stage for truly deep and profound healing. Awaken your inner power through their sacred and powerful icaros (healing songs), and discover your connection to all things by exploring some of the 2.2 million hectare Pacaya Samiria National Reserve which is our backyard. Nourish your body and soul with fresh, clean, delicious meals that promote your Ayahuasca experience, and integrate healthy habits into your routine with our yoga classes and extensive selection of gym equipment for all levels. We believe the health of physical body sets the foundation for the health of the energetic body – Often ignored in this type of spiritual work, we find this to be an important part of the healing process, so you can begin implementing the healthy habits that will carry this work with you into your life back home. Finally, relax your mind and spirit with sound baths, meditations, breathwave sessions, and OM circles, or simply enjoy the tranquil views of both sunrise and sunset from our front porch on the banks of the Ucayali River, surrounded by lush biodiversity and the mesmerizing sounds of the jungle.
Arkana’s exceptional team of highly-trained Shipibo Master Shamans represent an unbroken lineage of plant medicine work. With a combined history of over 70 years of experience working closely with Ayahuasca and other master plant teachers of the jungle, our compassionate healers lovingly share their teachings, healing songs (icaros), capabilities, and knowledge with integrity and honor. We strive to maintain the traditional practices passed down through thousands of years of indigenous Amazonian culture, in order to continue to promote the true purpose and nature of plant medicine work.
Experiencing the medicines with us is a transformative personal journey, and so much more. We also work closely with our local community, the Amazonian village of Libertad, to ensure that our Center can benefit and give back to the people who have so generously let us into their homes and hearts. We create employment opportunities, teach free English classes, provide a space for the ladies to sell their handmade crafts, and assist in construction projects, among other things. Our latest endeavor is outfitting the entire village with free solar panels, so every house can have light and electricity. When you join us, you are helping the rainforest and the Amazon communities that live here.
Guests that come to our Center often say they feel like “part of the family” with us – that’s no coincidence, as we are one big family at Arkana! The people that are with you throughout your experience can simply facilitate your own healing journey or become an integral part of it. Our experienced, loving, and professional team of caregivers welcomes you to join our tribe, where we strive to make you feel at home and at ease, supported and cared for with all the love and compassion that is at the core of the plant medicines and people we work with.
Ayahuasca is a powerful medicine that offers us the opportunity to understand our true nature, by shining a light onto our darkness, and holding a mirror up to our fears, negative thought patterns, and self-limiting beliefs. We provide the environment and expertise of a team of highly skilled, warm, compassionate Shamans and facilitators to guide you through the process of awakening, of choosing differently, healing, and expanding. It is a slow but steady path towards freedom – from fear, from illusion, from self-constructed boundaries – resulting in a lighter, brighter, more authentic self, and the full experience of love. It is our honor to help you on this most fulfilling of all journeys: the journey back home.
We look forward to having you with us!
Lots of Love,
The Team

April 3, 2019 at 3:25 pmMy 2 weeks experience with Arkana Spiritual Center were the most amazing, healing and learnful experiences I’ve ever had in my entire life.
If you’re reading this review, chances are that you’re contemplating doing an Ayahuasca Retreat yourself and I would like you to take the time and properly read about my experiences with Arkana, because I’m absolutely sure that you’ll want to join our big Arkana family afterwards!
I started my journey at the Arkana Amazon center in the jungle. I felt so connected with the Ayahuasca plant medicine, nature and everything around me. Already in these first 4 ceremonies I’ve learned, understood and made peace with almost every bad experience that I’d had in my life so far.. The medicine is so generous and omniscient that she’ll always show you what you need. After only 1 week it felt like the shamans, the facilitators, the other group members and me had become one big family that support eachothers process and progress!
I then went on to the Arkana Sacred Valley center to deepen my process with the Ayahuasca medicine. Even after you think that you’ve dealt with what you came here for, there’s always something new to work on. This week was just as amazing and insightful as the previous one in the jungle. I especially enjoyed the San Pedro ceremony at the end of the week. It was the perfect ending to my healing and learning process.
I would recommend doing Ayahuasca with the Arkana Spiritual center to everybody!
Not only is the team of facilitators and shamans absolutely lovely, but the locations are perfect to really connect to yourself, nature and your healing process.

April 3, 2019 at 3:24 pmI had a 14 day retreat, one week in the Amazone Jungle Retreat and one week at the Sacred Valley Retreat.
It was the most eye opening experience I’ve had in my life! traumas i didnt even know that i had were comming up and finally left my system! Things from my birth, that i never thought would influence my life became so clear to me. I could finally comprehend and understand knowledge I’ve had for a long time, but knowledge is only in the head, and this Ayahuasca Retreat made it possible for me to take that knowledge into my heart and through integration i can transform it into Wisdom. The Jungle retreat was amazing (besides the Mosquitos and Spiders, but thats a small adjustment to get used to), I felt really connected to the Jungle and the Ayahuasca Medicine! The Facilitators were all very professional and kind! And the Shamans in my opinion were an amazing help and guide during the ceremonies and were really helpful and insightful in the group shares. The Arkana Amazone Jungle Spiritual Center was the perfect first Ayahuasca experience for me, and i would recommend it to anyone thats thinking about trying to work with this sacred medicine!
The Arkana Spiritual Center in Sacred Valley felt like luxury after being in the Jungle for a week. There i felt like I’ve got so much knowledge about the importance of the Breath in the Breathworks, I’ve learned about how important Intentions are and how powerful our way of thinking and believes are! The Excursions we had were really intresting, to learn about those ancient cultures and old believes was really humbling! and the Tourguides at both the Jungle center and Sacred Valley were so kind and explained everything you could think of asking them!
Long story short, if youre thinking about going to an Ayahuqsca retreat, i honestly dont think there is a better choice than Arkana!

April 3, 2019 at 11:53 amI went to Arkana Spiritual Center for a week long retreat in the end of July beginning of August 2018. They have beautiful very healing grounds. The Shamans were very authentic indigenous people with years of experience. The staff and facilitators are excellent and helped me greatly. I highly recommend them for an excellent experience. ~Sam Dillon

April 2, 2019 at 8:33 pmPerfect.
The Arkana retreat in the Sacred Valley is nestled in a beautiful location. The grounds themselves are tended to with love and care and this is more than reflected in the smiles and hearts of the staff that work there.
The rooms themselves are comfortable, clean and well maintained (at least our room was), it could sometimes be a bit tricky to navigate the stairs after a ceremony if you’re on the top floor but that was no biggy (!) (it did take me like 10 mins to walk up them one night but that’s because i spent a while stargazing(!)
The facilitators themselves couldnt be better. They genuinely care about you, fill you with love and help guide you on, or start your spiritual journey.
The staff really did make the retreat..
The ceremonies themselves are well managed and the energy is electric. if you’re on the fence about the toad ceremony – get off the fence and book it – easily the single most profound moment of my life and way more than i was expecting – the ceremony itself is held in a seperate area to the ayahuasca ceremonies and it’s very personal and intimate.
Those who have said it was disorganized – I don’t really agree with that but it is a bit casual/laid back with regards to organization of which personally like. I have enough regimentation in my western life!
I will hopefully be back to Arkana – and i look forward to finding out what their amazon retreat is like!
I love you guys, all of you x
