Arkana Spiritual Center

Iquitos and Urubamba in Peru

Our Program
At Arkana, we create the space for you to get in touch with your truth, opening your path for deeper meaning and greater fulfillment in your life. We work with ancestral medicines such as Ayahuasca, San Pedro, Bufo Alvarius, Rapé , using the traditional practices of the indigenous cultures of the Peruvian Amazon. We currently operate two centers in Peru, one in the Peruvian Amazon and a second one in the Sacred Valley (close to Machu Picchu), and one in Mexico, the choice is yours.

With great respect for the plants and the knowledge and healing that comes with them, our lineage of Shipibo shamans set the stage for truly deep and profound healing. Awaken your inner power through their sacred and powerful icaros (healing songs), and discover your connection to all things by exploring some of the 2.2 million hectare Pacaya Samiria National Reserve which is our backyard. Nourish your body and soul with fresh, clean, delicious meals that promote your Ayahuasca experience, and integrate healthy habits into your routine with our yoga classes and extensive selection of gym equipment for all levels. We believe the health of physical body sets the foundation for the health of the energetic body – Often ignored in this type of spiritual work, we find this to be an important part of the healing process, so you can begin implementing the healthy habits that will carry this work with you into your life back home. Finally, relax your mind and spirit with sound baths, meditations, breathwave sessions, and OM circles, or simply enjoy the tranquil views of both sunrise and sunset from our front porch on the banks of the Ucayali River, surrounded by lush biodiversity and the mesmerizing sounds of the jungle.

Arkana’s exceptional team of highly-trained Shipibo Master Shamans represent an unbroken lineage of plant medicine work. With a combined history of over 70 years of experience working closely with Ayahuasca and other master plant teachers of the jungle, our compassionate healers lovingly share their teachings, healing songs (icaros), capabilities, and knowledge with integrity and honor. We strive to maintain the traditional practices passed down through thousands of years of indigenous Amazonian culture, in order to continue to promote the true purpose and nature of plant medicine work.

Experiencing the medicines with us is a transformative personal journey, and so much more. We also work closely with our local community, the Amazonian village of Libertad, to ensure that our Center can benefit and give back to the people who have so generously let us into their homes and hearts. We create employment opportunities, teach free English classes, provide a space for the ladies to sell their handmade crafts, and assist in construction projects, among other things. Our latest endeavor is outfitting the entire village with free solar panels, so every house can have light and electricity. When you join us, you are helping the rainforest and the Amazon communities that live here.

Guests that come to our Center often say they feel like “part of the family” with us – that’s no coincidence, as we are one big family at Arkana! The people that are with you throughout your experience can simply facilitate your own healing journey or become an integral part of it. Our experienced, loving, and professional team of caregivers welcomes you to join our tribe, where we strive to make you feel at home and at ease, supported and cared for with all the love and compassion that is at the core of the plant medicines and people we work with.

Ayahuasca is a powerful medicine that offers us the opportunity to understand our true nature, by shining a light onto our darkness, and holding a mirror up to our fears, negative thought patterns, and self-limiting beliefs. We provide the environment and expertise of a team of highly skilled, warm, compassionate Shamans and facilitators to guide you through the process of awakening, of choosing differently, healing, and expanding. It is a slow but steady path towards freedom – from fear, from illusion, from self-constructed boundaries – resulting in a lighter, brighter, more authentic self, and the full experience of love. It is our honor to help you on this most fulfilling of all journeys: the journey back home.

We look forward to having you with us!

Lots of Love,
The Team

Just got back from the Dec 6-13 trip, and wow, was it amazing. I booked the trip months ago, after reading reviews, but I still wasn’t quite sure what to expect when I arrived with my girlfriend. What I found was an awesome group of people (that I now consider my friends), great facilitators and guides, and an amazing ayahuasca experience that I’m still glowing from. The facility itself was still a little rough around the edges when we got there, still under construction in a few areas, but Dan ensured all of our needs were taken care of and that we had a great time. The jungle excursions with Adriano were fun – learned a ton about rainforest plants/animals. The boat trip to monkey island was pretty cool… 5 species of monkeys in one troop, none of them shy at all. Saw 3-toed sloths, a giant otter, lots of dolphins, parrots, and ton of other cool stuff. The ayahuasca ceremonies themselves were everything I had hoped for. I think a majority of our group had truly life-changing experiences. The facilitators, Emily, Shane, and Brendan, were all phenomenal, especially with the conversations we had about our experiences and integrating the learnings into our lives moving forward. I hope they stay on long-term. And the shaman himself was truly a master of his trade. I couldn’t have asked for anything more. Thanks Dan and everybody else who made this trip possible. I’ll definitely be coming back at some point, bringing friends as well. 🙂

I just returned from Peru and Pulse Adventure Tour?s 14 day Amazon, Machu Picchu and Ayahuasca adventure. As a 24 year old female, traveling for the first time alone without the support of my family, this trip proved to be one of the most pivotal moments of my life. I had done a lot of research about ayahuasca: JRE, Graham Hancock, Amber Lyons, Aubrey Marcus and any other information I could get my hands on about the brew. With much time, research, consideration and planning I decided to take the plunge, buy a plane ticket and come to Pulse to experience what I?ve read, researched and prepared for. Without my preparations I definitely would not have gained so much knowledge or so many positive benefits to my life; so if you thinking about going down to Peru with Pulse please educate yourself first? ayahuasca is an extremely powerful plant medicine that should be handed with the utmost respect, knowledge, intent and understanding. With that being said? my decision to travel with Pulse was absolutely the best decision I could have made for myself. Dan and Tatiana proved that their center in the jungle is made for healing and that the experiences and safety of their guest is of the utmost importance to both of them. The ayahuasca was powerful and the male shaman Weiler and the female shaman Angela facilitated all of the ceremonies with humility and grace. The shamans provided guidance and protection throughout the entire ceremony singing their ikaros, and again, creating a space of safety for you to let your guard down, face your demons and heal yourself. I found the sharing sessions before and after each one of the ceremonies to be extremely helpful, the food provided for you at the adventure center is fresh and delicious (I do suggest bringing some healthy granola bars for snacking after ceremonies), all the amenities and the buildings on the premise including the beds, bathrooms and showers are gorgeous and brand new. Pulse?s jungle center truly felt like my home away from home. The jungle was only the first week of my Peruvian adventure. The second week we flew to Cusco where I got to experience the gentle healing powers of San Pedro at a lovely accommodated mountain house, I got to explore many ancient ruins, hike Machu Picchu, reflect on my ayahuasca and practice integrating what I had learned on my trip into everyday functioning life. Peru is beautiful and has so much to offer. If you have researched and are seriously considering taking the trip of a lifetime I encourage you to take your trip with Pulse Adventure Tours. You will come home from your adventure energized, centered, grateful and full of love and your life will never be the same. Best wishes. Love and light.

A lot of people have been wondering why I suddenly went to Peru. I went to participate in traditional Ayahuasca ceremonies. It is a medicine in every sense of the word. It has been used for thousands of years to help treat people from a wide array of problems. It?s main treatments are for depression, PTSD, addiction and anxiety. Although it really deals with so much more than that. It is a very powerful and profound plant. I have struggled with anxiety for the majority of my life. It has relived me of that and showed me so many other things about life. It teaches you the real purpose of life is love and compassion. It helps you look at yourself and the world around you. I feel truly blessed for the people I encountered on my trip. I was able to meet some of the most amazing individuals. Pulse tours did a wonderful job at making it such an enjoyable experience. I would highly recommend them to anyone who might consider this medicine. This was the single greatest transformative experience I have ever had in my life. I feel it has drastically changed my viewpoint on this experience we call life and the power of positive energy. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to have a deeper and better understand of their own self and the world around them.

You will not be disappointed! By far the greatest center in Peru! Thank you Dan and Tatyana!

The 14 Day Machu Picchu & Amazon Ayahuasca Expedition was truly a life changing experience and I’d return to Peru with Pulse Tour Adventures anytime! As my first big trip, I was very comfortable with the itinerary and made unforgettable friends.

The organizers, Dan and Tatyana, were selfless in ensuring that everyone had everything they needed and were having the best time. The food and accommodations were more than expected. The well organized trip allowed us to focus on the spiritual journey we were on.

A true added value were the knowledgeable guides that assisted us to Machu Picchu and the Amazon jungle. We learnt the intriguing history of the Incas civilization as well as medicinal and survival skills in the Amazon jungle. These excursions were, for me, true adventure.

In the midst of this wild journey, we experienced the most profound medicinal plant rituals at the heart of the Peruvian traditions. The rituals were carried out by very knowledgeable shamans which brought the ceremonies’ true traditional practices. In addition, the maloca’s and facilitators made the ceremonies atmospheres very special. Plus the organizers were always there to assist you if needed.

It was, to say the least, a very transformative experience and I will never be the same because of it.

All in all, unforgettable trip and amazing crew!! Already nostalgic and hoping to return in the near future!

Highly recommended to anyone that seeks spiritual knowledge to grow!!

If you’re looking to do Ayahuasca in the Amazon, you really can’t go wrong with Pulse Tours, aka The Ayahuasca Adventure Center. I was initially skeptical of all the five-star ratings on the site, as such perfect praise sounds suspicious, however I can assure you all the reviews are honest and true. Dan and Tatyana, along with the rest of those involved, are people you can trust, which is something quite valuable when you’re going to do ayahuasca in the Amazon. The center itself was in a nice location, with some glorious night skies, sunrises and sunsets to be witnessed. Victor provides some exciting outings into the jungle between ceremonies, usually looking for wildlife [Victor’s enthusiasm for finding wildlife is wonderful!] and demonstrating the various medicinal uses for the plants that grow in it. It’s also good to know that the center feels it has a responsibility to the neighbouring village, and the amiable relationship between the two was evident. In short, Pulse Tours are good, capable people, who are absolutely deserving of every single five-star rating on this site.
