Arkana Spiritual Center

Iquitos and Urubamba in Peru

Our Program
At Arkana, we create the space for you to get in touch with your truth, opening your path for deeper meaning and greater fulfillment in your life. We work with ancestral medicines such as Ayahuasca, San Pedro, Bufo Alvarius, Rapé , using the traditional practices of the indigenous cultures of the Peruvian Amazon. We currently operate two centers in Peru, one in the Peruvian Amazon and a second one in the Sacred Valley (close to Machu Picchu), and one in Mexico, the choice is yours.

With great respect for the plants and the knowledge and healing that comes with them, our lineage of Shipibo shamans set the stage for truly deep and profound healing. Awaken your inner power through their sacred and powerful icaros (healing songs), and discover your connection to all things by exploring some of the 2.2 million hectare Pacaya Samiria National Reserve which is our backyard. Nourish your body and soul with fresh, clean, delicious meals that promote your Ayahuasca experience, and integrate healthy habits into your routine with our yoga classes and extensive selection of gym equipment for all levels. We believe the health of physical body sets the foundation for the health of the energetic body – Often ignored in this type of spiritual work, we find this to be an important part of the healing process, so you can begin implementing the healthy habits that will carry this work with you into your life back home. Finally, relax your mind and spirit with sound baths, meditations, breathwave sessions, and OM circles, or simply enjoy the tranquil views of both sunrise and sunset from our front porch on the banks of the Ucayali River, surrounded by lush biodiversity and the mesmerizing sounds of the jungle.

Arkana’s exceptional team of highly-trained Shipibo Master Shamans represent an unbroken lineage of plant medicine work. With a combined history of over 70 years of experience working closely with Ayahuasca and other master plant teachers of the jungle, our compassionate healers lovingly share their teachings, healing songs (icaros), capabilities, and knowledge with integrity and honor. We strive to maintain the traditional practices passed down through thousands of years of indigenous Amazonian culture, in order to continue to promote the true purpose and nature of plant medicine work.

Experiencing the medicines with us is a transformative personal journey, and so much more. We also work closely with our local community, the Amazonian village of Libertad, to ensure that our Center can benefit and give back to the people who have so generously let us into their homes and hearts. We create employment opportunities, teach free English classes, provide a space for the ladies to sell their handmade crafts, and assist in construction projects, among other things. Our latest endeavor is outfitting the entire village with free solar panels, so every house can have light and electricity. When you join us, you are helping the rainforest and the Amazon communities that live here.

Guests that come to our Center often say they feel like “part of the family” with us – that’s no coincidence, as we are one big family at Arkana! The people that are with you throughout your experience can simply facilitate your own healing journey or become an integral part of it. Our experienced, loving, and professional team of caregivers welcomes you to join our tribe, where we strive to make you feel at home and at ease, supported and cared for with all the love and compassion that is at the core of the plant medicines and people we work with.

Ayahuasca is a powerful medicine that offers us the opportunity to understand our true nature, by shining a light onto our darkness, and holding a mirror up to our fears, negative thought patterns, and self-limiting beliefs. We provide the environment and expertise of a team of highly skilled, warm, compassionate Shamans and facilitators to guide you through the process of awakening, of choosing differently, healing, and expanding. It is a slow but steady path towards freedom – from fear, from illusion, from self-constructed boundaries – resulting in a lighter, brighter, more authentic self, and the full experience of love. It is our honor to help you on this most fulfilling of all journeys: the journey back home.

We look forward to having you with us!

Lots of Love,
The Team

Pulse Tours gave me the most amazing week of my life. From the ceremonies to the excursions to the staff, everything was top notch! I felt safe, comfortable, and excited from start to finish. The maloka has an incredible energy to it. Wiler and Angela (the Shamans) really allow a connection to be built. The staff is incredibly supportive. Valentina, Tamara, and Jarek… words cannot express the kindness of their hearts. Dan and Tatyana have put their heart and soul into creating this beautiful center focused on healing. The food is great, the tours are fantastic – Adriano really knows his stuff!
Ayahuasca is incredibly challenging but 110% worth every bit of the fight! I am a new person, and I have pulse tours to thank. I will be back.

Having gone through three weeks in the jungle, participating in 12 ceremonies, meeting many incredible people, and having returned home. I find myself longing to be back with the group at Pulse.

Initially when I started looking into Ayahuasca centers I was a little skeptical of Pulse, not having heard of them before. But something about the layout of the activities in between ceremonies, sparked my interest.
I was also a little out of my comfort zone, not having spent much time working out in a gym, I was a little apprehensive about participating in such a thing. But also felt that the challenge of facing that fear was part of my commitment to heal.
Not only was I not disappointed by challenging myself, but I now believe in the Pulse philosophy of physical activity being a large part of the healing process.

I had already decided (or perhaps Mother Aya decided for me) that I would be participating in 3 weeks worth of ceremonies. This was initially because I thought I needed that amount of time to heal my emotional wounds that I had carried for so very long.
However it wasn’t until after I left that I realized that the title of the 3 week retreat “Total Human Transformation” is exactly what I had gone through.
It was exactly the amount of time I needed to be there, and the perfect atmosphere for me to be in.

I can say with no doubt, that I have transformed, thanks to the people here at Pulse. Not only was everything taken care of for me, but I felt very safe not only from harm, but also felt safe to share my struggles with others and that they would be there to support me and not pass judgement.

Huge thanks to my girls Val, and Tamara, you helped me see the light from within my darkness.
Wiler, Angela, and Ernesto, the selfless work you have done on my behalf cannot be repaid with mere words.
Adriano, and Pecho, you two provide amazing tours and I still find amazement in how much knowledge you possess.
To everyone else, thanks for creating such an awesome healing center, complete with amazing food.

No words can truly describe the experience I had at Pulse, but I will try. Everything was perfect, from the people doing the ceremonies with me, to the facilitators, the lodge, to the excursions and animals (I wanted to bring a monkey home so bad!). I loved the community living feel. The ayahuasca was very strong! Nothing to take lightly as it can put you on your @$$, but that is what you are going for right? I wanted to bottle up the icaros from the shaman Wiler, so I could open it back up later to listen to, enchantingly beautiful! I plan on going back to Pulse, and I wouldn’t even think about going anywhere else. If you are thinking about going to Peru to drink aya, GO! It’ll change your life. 🙂

So you are looking for a Ayahuasca retreat…

Look no further than the Ayahuasca Adventure Centre run by Pulse Tours in the Peruvian Amazon.

I have completed their 21 day, Total Human Transformation Program, and it did literally transform me. I am not one to use words lightly or because I just had a good experience. This was not my first centre for Ayahuasca, but it is my last. as I only wish to return here and experience the depth of healing only provided by being deeply immersed in the jungle and continue learning from the team and Maestro Wiler and Maestras Angela.

There is so much to do and a highlight during the days after nightly ceremonies is the Jungle Shaman Adriano and his jungle tours deep in the jungle on a boat to see animals in the wild, try jungle medicines directly fresh from the jungle and swimming with the Pink Dolphins in the River.

Nothing better than doing this, plus Yoga with Val, and working out in the custom Gym, after deep work during ceremonies, and sitting by the river watching the sunrise and sunset over the same river.

12 ceremonies in 21 days is intense, and the work has only just begun. But knowing there is a community on call and online for support and friendship, makes this organisation a stand out for me..5 stars. This is offered to all of their programs. I just chose to go deep and to be peeled back entirely to get to the root cause of my ailments and to be put back into my heart…job done..tick!

Another standout was the access given to the Shaman, my friends, teachers Maestro Wiler and Maestras Angela omg. The next day after each ceremony you have the opportunity to share your experience and have them tweak the Icaro unique to what is coming through to be healed. And lets face it, us Westerners need this coaching, in order for us to truely receive the right healing.

I was offered a special plant dietas to assit me go deeper and adjustments were made specially for this, of which made my experience even more life transforming.

The local community is deeply connected to the centre, they have employment due to Dan and the team creating opportunity for an economy there that has never been there before. And they are doing it ethically, with love and with a desire to only help more.

Will I return, absolutly, should you attend, absolutly!!

Pulse Tours and the Ayahuasca Adventure Center were incredible. Taking this trip is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The staff was caring, kind, and concerned. I learned so much on this trip. I’ll always be grateful for my time in the jungle and for the work Pulse Tours does. While taking this trip was definitely stepping outside of my comfort zone, it was exactly what I needed.
