Mission and Vision
Vikara, meaning “transformation” in Sanskrit, is a retreat centre built with love to empower individuals to connect with their true selves and discover their own way to healing, serving and living their full potential. We strive to foster a network of conscious and responsible human beings who seek spiritual growth and evolution.
Our vision extends beyond the individual, as we envision a world where everyone reconnects with their essence, fostering personal healing and collective transformation in harmony with Mother Earth.
Safe Ayahuasca Retreats & Small Groups
Your safety and well-being are paramount at our Ayahuasca & Healing Retreats. We foster a supportive environment with intimate groups of no more than 10 participants, allowing our experienced facilitators to offer personalized attention and prioritize your complete well-being throughout your transformative journey. At Vikara, you embark on a healing journey supported by our team of experience in facilitators and space holders. Here, you can experience profound tranformation and step back into the world empowered to live a life aligned with your true essence.
We use the term “facilitator” to highlight the distinct role our practitioners play. While trained by traditional shamans and deeply knowledgeable in the medicine’s power, their perspective combines this ancient wisdom with an understanding of Western psychology and contemporary mindsets. This unique blend allows our facilitators to bridge the gap between traditional healing and the needs of modern individuals, enabling personalised guidance and a more relatable experience for many participants.

January 22, 2020 at 2:33 pmI took part in the 9-day retreat from Jan 12-20. Roey, Lindsey and the team were amazing. I had the space to focus inward on my intention and to discover what was there for me. Santiago the Shaman held the space for us to show up as our most authentic self. The facilities are brand new and it’s right on the ocean. Thank you for an unforgettable retreat!

October 6, 2019 at 7:49 pmI had the honor of participating in Vikara’s 9-day Yoga, Surf and Ayahuasca retreat this past August. I am not sure if I can put into words how grateful I am for Vikara. From the very beginning, when Roey picked me up, I felt like he was family. Roey is so sweet and welcoming and you can talk to him about anything. The retreat was very well organized. We started our mornings doing yoga. For someone who has only previously dipped her toes in yoga, these yoga classes were amazing. Roey put so much thought and love into his classes. It made me start to love yoga and want to practice it more. We also had the honor of meeting Elba, her mother and mother-in-law during one of our yoga classes. Our meeting was way too brief, due to Elba about to give birth. But her presence is beyond amazing. She has such a beautiful and peaceful soul!
As for the ceremonies held by Aime and Hwaneetah, I do not think I can do justice in words on how beautiful they were. Aime and Hwaneetah put so much extraordinary energy into these ceremonies! Their intuition is unlike anything I’ve seen before. They genuinely care and want the best for everyone. I felt very safe and at peace in their presence. It was such a resplendent and transformative experience.
The days I spent in Vikara were amazing and life-changing. I will be forever grateful to all the people I met – my new family. Thank you Roey for making this organization happen. I can’t wait to see the new retreat center. It’s going to be awesome! Thank you, Ellie, for throwing it down in the kitchen! Every meal was incredible. Thank you, Elba, for blessing us with your presence. When I come back, I can’t wait to meet Padme. Thank you Aime for your advice, guidance and sense of humor. Thank you Hwaneetah for being so beautiful and a goddess and making me want to be one too! Also, thank you Aime and Hwaneetah for those beautiful icaros and for being #relationshipgoals. And thank you to my wonderful sisters Claudia and Rebecca for going on this amazing journey together.
Thinking about Vikara and the time I had there just fills my heart with so much love, gratitude and joy. I would without any hesitation, highly recommend coming here. I hope one day to also come back.

May 18, 2019 at 9:00 amI was traveling alone trough Ecuador and I wanted to do Ayahuasca, but did not yet know where. I had some specific questions about the date/length, but this was no problem at all and they gave me an opportunity so it would fit for me. After calling with Roey, I felt secure about going there. He picked me up at the bus-terminal and felt very welcome.
In total I stayed there for 6 days and everything was perfect for me: the yoga-classes, surf-classes, the food (!!), the hotel and the service was always good. The preparation with the meeting with the shaman and the possibily to ask whatever you want to know were helpfull. The ceremony with the shaman and his wife, was really special to me. During the ceremony they knew exactly how to guide you and after the ceremony we shared stories and there was the possibility for all kind of questions. They took a lot of time for us.
It’s indescribable for me how this trip was. I think it was the best part of my time in Ecuador and I would love to come back to do the complete retreat. Even the Ayahuasca was mild to me (is different for everyone), I learned a lot and now (3 weeks later) I still feel the changes I made. I already recommended it to everyone in my environment and I want to share this, because for me it was a big present for the rest of my life.
For women: My last day in Ólon I did the moonsession (this was an opportunity they offered from Vikara) with the wife of the shaman, she learned me even more about myself, my energy, how to take better care of myself in the different periods during the month and so much more.
I want to thank Roey, Elba, Nali, David, Hwaneetah, Aime and everybody else who were a part of this beautiful journey.

April 23, 2019 at 7:27 amI rarely come with expectation but Vikara has exceeded any I could have had.
Vikara is a place I will go back to (hopefully) so that shall tell you enough.
For me, what makes this place so special is all the people working there, who give their heart at what they are doing which creates an incredible experience for the end client. You can feel their intention.
Truly caring vibes, amazing healthy food, a wonderful deep yoga practice and last but not least a truly exceptional holding of medicinal plant ceremonies – which will leave you enriched towards a better understanding of yourself.
Can’t recommend this place enough!
Oh and Olon and the beach is just ever so charming!

April 2, 2019 at 12:14 pmI joined the 10 day Yoga and plant medicine retreat with Vikara as one of the first thing I did on my 1 year of traveling. And WOW… I’m speechless. That was absolutely everything I hoped for and more. I met the most amazing, inspiring and brave people these 10 days. It has changed my view on the future and my travel and it has given me courage to go for what I want in life.
So do you feel burned out, frustrated, confused about your dreams and goals, do you feel you live in fear and not love or do you wish to understand the world and nature better. Then differently give this try. You’ll get to meet some of the most inspiring people of your life and their ideas and way of living will change your perspective on life for good.. But best of all, you get to meet yourself!
A big thanks to Aime, Hwaneetah, Pietro, Roey, Elba, Lottie and Nali for making all this possible.
I highly recommend this place and I will definitely come back for more.
