This is a place of growth, healing, safety, and love. Chris, Verena, and the entire staff have built a place where people can come and be safely guided and aided in their journey with Ayahuasca. They know how joyous (but also sometimes difficult) these Ayahuasca journeys can be, and are there to support everyone who comes. Help from the simplest aid in walking to the fire on wobbly Aya feet to the deeper help which might mean close companionship throughout a difficult Aya journey, and everything in between. In my own experiences here, I spoke with people from all walks of life, all depths of loss, addiction, depression, etc, all income levels, all religious and spiritual backgrounds (and/or no religious or spiritual backgrounds) and all are welcome and respected. All are there to grow and heal. In my many years (I am not a young fella and I have searched long and hard for help and healing in every way imaginable) I have never been to a place with such openness and respect for everyone who visits. It is like visiting for a weekend with family you just hadn’t met yet.
I cannot say enough about my experience at Soulquest. This was a truly monumental experience in every way. I spent the weekend really getting to understand myself and some insight into what direction my life should go.
I was a little different than most of the people there. I am a bit older than most of the guests and the staff and volunteers. So my needs and my reaction to the medicine and the ceremonies was I believe more muted.
But nonetheless it was a wonderful experience and I will go again in the future. But for now Soulquest and Ayahuasca gave me many things to think about and to work on. I will be doing this work every day.
Some details. The folks at Soulquest will tell you at the beginning that they are not Peru and they are not trying to be like Peru. They are and American church that is trying to bring healing to the US. And also trying to be true to the traditions of Ayahuasca and they do this wonderfully.
The staff and volunteers are amazing. They are with you every step of the way and they treat you like a loved member of their family. The facilities are varied from basic accommodations to a private room or cabin. But you do not do very much sleeping when there so this is not as important as I thought it would be. It is clean and well organized with an amazing sense of camaraderie and service from everyone there.
If you are considering Ayahuasca journey I can give Soulquest my highest recommendation.
If you see a bad review, I promise you, it is most likely coming from one of those people that just can never be pleased… I saw a bad review from a one of my old friends I met there and what amazes me about this is she was so excited about her weekend there that she was trying to book us a both a retreat at Soul Quest like the very next week! So trust me if you see a bad review it is most likely because of something internal going on with them…perhaps they need to do just that, book again to heal that?
Soul Quest like any business in their Beginnings has some growing pains. I read the reviews were people talk about Chris the owner being money-hungry … well all I can say to that is, you try purchasing and spending what I would guess to be $500,000 plus into such an amazing vision of helping people awaken and heal their lives and then not expect to try to replace that money… I volunteered there for like six or seven weekends, I personally witnessed that man spending a lot of money, constantly working his ass off to make an awesome place for you guys and girls to have an awesome experience… gratitude is big in the spiritual world in the spiritual awakening process… so, instead of leaving any negative words about being money-hungry try spending and doing all the work this man has and then write a review otherwise, just taking another Journey for healing that. Regardless, Soul Quest is truly one of the most awesome places with the most awesome staff, wonderful volunteers, that will simply be UNFORGETTABLE… even if you dont take the medicine and are volunteering, that alone will fill your heart full of love and excitement for those who are taking the journey, it truly is a blessing to be part of… and you will be brought to tears by testimony on the last day when everyone shares their experience… and yes it happens every weekend LOL
Awesome grounds! Awesome caring staff! Awesome music! Awesome guests! Awesome shamanic cat named Aya!…seriously! Awesome cook w/ awesome food! Just an all-around beautiful place to heal. As Joe Rogan would say, “Dont be scurred!” Go big or stay home though!!! nothing to fear but the fear you create your own mind. Try not to leave there without breaking through to the other side. Get what you came for.
Hello, My name is Amanda. My stay at Soul Quest can only be described as a miracle. I am now feeling connected, I didn’t think that would be possible for me. The facilitators and Volunteers were amazing angels!! The Shaman has such an amazing powerful gift. I am so lucky to have found this place. They are so strong, loving and healing. I recommend this place to anyone feeling the call to Aya.
I came to ayahuasca as a last resort after years of depression, axiety, and PTSD. I had run out of cards to play. This was my last. I initially went to Gaia Sagrada in Ecuador for a 12 day retreat. That was a good experience. The staff and shamans were wonderful and the facility is beautiful, as is nearby Cuenca, so if you have the opportunity I highly recommend Gaia’s retreat as well.
With that said, during that retreat, I unfortunately was not able to reach any of the answers I was hoping to get to. My understanding is that the medicine needed to do some physical cleansing first. Still, I did see a few others experiencing some of the things I was in need of so it told me to hold on and try again. At the suggestion of a friend and fellow veteran I decided to go to Soul Quest.
With my admittedly limited experience, Soul Quest is at a whole different level.
I arrived still carrying myself like a body without a soul. Stuck very deeply in my own head and having access to none of the positive emotions I now have access to again. The staff at soul quest was/is wonderful. The founders are very much available, when they are not actively running an activity throughout every day of the retreat.
The Taita (healer/shaman/curandero), Pedro, who runs the evening ceremonies is a deep, kind, and powerful soul who does absolutely incredible work with creating a sacred space, bringing powerful music, and with ensuring everyone is safe and free to be with the medicine to do their healing, which is what most people do and need most of the time. He also knows from his training and experience how to help people (not most or many, but the few) release a deeply powerful emotion or dysfunction they don’t seem to be able to let go of or seem stuck in (I think these are the people who do the most healing in a single night).
Likewise, the facilitators, medics, and volunteers are standing by at all times to ensure everyone has a safe environment and an experience most conducive to healing, learning, and growth as they go within. All this is an awe inspiring team effort for me to witness and feel and it is absolutely necessary because the medicine at Soul Quest is an increasingly pure, loving, and STRONG medicine. The moment this medicine took effect on me during each ceremony, I knew I had entered deep self, deep inner space, deep emotional trauma, deep programming, and when I worked my way up to a full dose (which is measured in tablespoons!) I was able to get in direct touch with deep reality (and look forward to doing more work going forward). This medicine, especially at a full dose or beyond, is formidable, not for the feint of heart but for those wanting and needing to do serious (wonderful, magical) inner work to face demons, process trauma, regain access to their true self, the life force within, and the heart and that is just what I needed and exactly what I got. Of course, this experience was nothing like I expected and nothing like others had described, so keep in mind that every experience is as unique as every moment. No two are the same, not even the same person one day apart, so be prepared to get what you need, as opposed to what you want, think, hope, plan…etc.
Throughout the retreat, during recovery time there are wonderful classes you can partake in including different kinds of yoga, yogic science (the chakra system, etc) and breathing techniques. The longer retreats also have other classes including nutrition. Of course the grounds are also very conducive to both spending time reflecting/journaling, or to discussing and processing experiences with other participants or with facilitators so I felt like throughout the retreat I was always doing something that was good for me and my process.
The medicine is made right on sight by the ayahuasquero who runs the daytime ceremony, Anthony. Anthony, like Taita Pedro, has a beautiful, powerful, loving presence and is able to create an environment that was beautifully conducive to absolutely transformational work for me during the day time ceremonies under the white oaks. Like Taita, Anthony helped me feel safe to go deeper within, knowing that if I get into trouble, I am not alone, I am in incredibly good hands. This was/is absolutely key for me.
While I could not say enough good things about Soul Quest and realize this review does have to come to an end I will mention something very specific. Soul Quest’s commitment to help heal the many military veterans who are out there fighting alone. Chris Young, Verena Young, Dr. Scott Irwin extended me and other veterans I know a full commitment to support us, including in times of financial hardship through their Veteran Program/Fund, as we fight the demons we carry…those demons who continue to take lives not in combat but in suicide every single day.
If you are or know a veteran in need, please let them know there is at least one more card to play at Soul Quest. And it’s a powerful one.
Ah… Soul Quest 🙂 From the perspective of a first time Aya journeyer, life long skeptic and cynic.. These beautiful people ONLY care about others, as well as the betterment of humanity in general. I saw not a shred of evidence of any self serving motives in any of the staff.. They were our protectors; our spirit guides; our guardian angels in our darkest moments. I could go on for days about the experience, how I was personally transformed, and how kind and non judgmental EVERYONE was.. I’ll leave you with this.. If I could give them a million stars, that is what I’d do. If Aya is calling you, I cant imagine a better setting and group of people to help you get what you need!
My wife and I are already planning another trip in May, to expand on our relationship with The mother, the teacher, the only true medicine , as well as our new brothers and sisters at Soul Quest!!!
I can’t imagine a better place to have my first experience with Mother Aya. I learned so much there. It truly is a place to help you confront the irrational fears that can make life difficult to live. The volunteers are some of the most caring people I have ever met. I will likely return many times.
It has been 5 days since my retreat. The intensity of processing and integrating my thoughts and feelings is still pretty strong. I had a wonderful time at SoulQuest. Making strong connections with people instantaneously was refreshing; this was a pleasant surprise, definitely not at all expected. The staff at SoulQuest is very caring and prompt. Not once I felt manipulated or influenced by anyone. SoulQuest showed me direction but the Quest was all mine. Thank you.
The taste of the medicine is awful but the gift it gives is wonderful. Ayahuasca gave me clarity so my mind would understand what bothers me. Then at night, it took me into an agony that lead into catharsis through vomiting, symbolically and literally. The experience gave me the epiphany that suppressed emotions can be released only if I desperately want it with every single particle of what makes me: letting go. Easy to say hard to do. I guess that is why it is called a Quest.
5 days after the retreat I am realizing that this medicine is affecting every single aspect of my life. After catharsis, I do not want any poison in me. I am taking care of myself. I’ve stopped mindlessly and continuously browsing the internet and instead, use it as a tool when I have a clear purpose. I’ve become more tuned into my family. Before this experience, I passively, half-heard what was being said to me, now I am really, actively listening and understanding. I’ve made changes to my children’s routines cutting their exposure to the internet and devices and really connecting with them. Last evening, it was gratifying to notice they didn’t ask once for devices. At night, instead of watching TV I am taking a walk. My mind is clear, I’m enjoying being in the moment and I feel a reassurance that this is the way it’s supposed to be.
Ayahuasca has taught me a valuable lesson. I am not only my consciousness but more. There are things that are out of my reach and control that should be included to make me whole. Like intuition, dreams and my feelings. If I go against them I’m in hell. To get into heaven I have to go to Purgatory and purge. Something is navigating me through life and that is okay. That is what I am: Body, Mind, and Spirit. I feel complete. I can hear myself breathing.
words can not express my gratitude for the experiences I have had at Soul Quest. I was a complete skeptic before booking my retreat with them but was in a place that enough was enough and I needed to make significant changes. I had nothing to lose. The staff and the grounds provided me the safe and sacred space I needed in order to really cultivate that change. I can now say with confidence that I am on the right path and have never been in a better place. This wouldn’t be possible without the love and care the staff had for me the moment I stepped on to the grounds. They became family!
Overall, my experience at Soul Quest was profound and, I hope, will be transformative. It’s only been 2 days since my retreat, but I’ve already begun to make changes that I believe will be sustainable.
Everyday life gets to us – it weighs us down, numbs our senses, distracts us from our purpose – sometimes so much so that we cannot even articulate what that purpose is anymore. I didn’t know what to expect and had no prior experience with plant medicine. Even up to 3 months ago I was closed to the idea of taking a substance like Ayahuasca. I considered it a drug that would harm my psyche, possibly be addictive and believed taking it would be irresponsible.
Several simultaneous life events lead to a watershed moment where I just wasn’t able to effectively cope with seemingly continuous waves of negativity, stress, and loss. I realized I needed to take time and space to heal and that I needed to be an active participant in that process. I needed a reset button.
A friend of mine saw my struggles and recommended Soul Quest and I decided to make the phone call. The staff was kind and compassionate from the very first contact. They shared extensive resources about their organization, about Ayahuasca, and about the process. Communication was clear, consistent and lowered my anxiety about this decision.
The facilities were clean, well maintained and comfortable. A large staff was on hand throughout the weekend frequently checking in with participants and providing much-appreciated support. This organization is an incredibly positive community that is welcoming and warm. The retreat offered various events and activities over the three day period and the execution of all of this was well coordinated. I am grateful to this amazing group of healers for their knowledge and guidance.
I was pleasantly surprised and I deeply appreciate that this retreat was about me finding the tools to heal myself, and not about a group of experts telling me what to think or how to feel. I felt in control of the process through the entirety of my time at the retreat and this, I believe, will be the key to my continued healing and increased well-being.
I came to Soul Quest with questions, a heavy burden of built-up stress, grief, doubts, and fear. I received answers to my most pressing questions. I made meaningful connections with fellow participants. I learned about tools I can use in my everyday life to find balance and vitality. I gained a deep appreciation of nature and its profound gifts of healing that every human being should know about and have access to.
Will I return to Soul Quest? Without a doubt, yes. This is a place of healing, love, connection, and appreciation of what is beautiful about every soul that finds its way to their doorstep and is courageous and trusting enough to open their heart and mind to where Mother Ayahuasca may guide them. “You won’t get what you want or expect, but you will get what you need.”
I had a profoundly wonderful time at Soul Quest! I was a bit trepidatious at first – which I think is totally normal – but I was blown away, not just by the ceremony itself, but by the expertise and compassion of the staff. It’s hard to imagine being in better hands!
I am deeply grateful for Soul Quest and their efforts to make the medicine accessible to seekers in North America. They very intentionally do things a little different than you might find in Peru, but rest assured that their hearts are undoubtedly in the right place. They are doing very good work and I hope you find out for yourself!
It goes without saying that I will be returning without a doubt!
What an amazing experience I had at Soul Quest this past weekend! I’ve never felt more free and alive in my life! The staff is Amazing all of the ceremonies and breath work was just what I needed! If you’re looking to take a journey with Ayahuasca I high recommend this church. I’m so glad I found this place and can’t wait to visit again!
I went to SoulQuest as a last resort. I struggled with things that had been done to me and things I had done in the past and through all that, severe alcoholism. I decided if SoulQuest didn’t work that I would end my life. They were so wonderful there, and the experience with ayahuasca was life changing for me. I got to see myself how others see me and I let go of a lot of self-hate. I am definitely going to go back and recommend it to everyone!
The most love and the most care, I didn’t want for anything. Amazing experience, great facilities and great facilitators. So patient, so understanding, so much more than I can say with words.
Life expanding and opening. Incredible self-expanding. IF you are interested in an amazing experience, Soul Quest is your place in the United States. The people that run Soul Quest are incredible, caring and very involved in your journey. The grounds and facility are very good and seems to be increasingly improving. It is a very supportive and understanding environment. They do a masterful job with support by volunteers and staff to make sure everyone is involved and supported with any challenges. They are encouraging and very incredible people. I specifically appreciate the caring of the medical staff. Craig is a gifted, protective soul.
I would say that this was an incredible and unforgettable experience and place. I can’t want to return to help return the love and go deeper in my discovery. The schedule of events between ceremonies was educating, intelligent and enlightening.
The accommodations I found to be very good, clean and comfortable. IF you are considering such a retreat. I would advise putting this place at the top of the list.
Thank you again SoulQuest team. Many blessing and much love to all of the staff
I have been to soul quest twice and cannot recommend it enough. They have an amazing Titah and they all show unbelievable respect to the medicine. The integration they have available is the most important part of working with the medicine to change your life. There is so much healing and everyone is so supportive. I felt safe and surrounded throughout the entire process. I cannot recommend it enough! They also make their own medicine and it is very strong. They have more than enough staff to accommodate the group sizes.
Soul Quest Ayahuasca Church of Mother Earth is one of the most beautiful magical places on earth. (What you might ask makes this so?) The answer is the beautiful conscious loving beings holding space as angels there. The unconditional love from the staff – from Chris and Verena, the founders… to Dr. Scott, a master healer… from Taita Pedro, a pure soul Shaman… to all of the volunteers called to be guardian angels to souls ready to be awakened to their beauty, awakened to the Love of Mother/Father/Spirit of the Universe and the truth that We are One. The healing of one heals all of us and the pain in one is in all of us. Thank you Soul Quest for the beautiful sacred community you have given birth to, a sacred place for the healing of all of us- If you are reading this is because the medicine is calling you. Listen & Trust and know that Soul Quest is a safe loving home to experience this magical journey. Have courage and accept the gift, the miracle of love, of unconditional Love.
My time at Soul Quest was absolutely wonderful. I received monumental blessings. Now I am super charged and more focused than ever in my walk of life.
The place is beautiful, it holds such good vibes. It’s a sublime atmosphere full of vibrant meditative art, there are so many cool things to look at. They had beautiful spiritual music playing the whole time and a cozy fire burning continually while we journeyed.
The shamanic breath workshop and yoga class we’re so good, I was able to take home many new techniques, inspiration, and wisdom.
Our day trip in the oak grove was truly divine. I’m remembering the radiant streams of sun rays shining through the trees, the angelic peaceful loving presence of the facilitators, and the glorious joy that bubbled up. I definitely experienced some of the most blissful moments of my life that day.
They had food after the ceremonies if you wanted a nice clean bite to eat. The best was the feast after the daytime ceremony, it was the best meal I’ve ever had, I could taste all of the love that was put into it as I sat outside gazing at the sky.
The people that work there are very good people, they are kind loving precious souls. I was able to trust them, they stuck it out with us through the nights, graciously helping out when we needed it. After ceremonies I was able to connect with them and they selflessly shared deep knowledge and truth with me, I learned so much and felt like I got the elevated association that I’ve been needing. I’m deeply humbled to have been blessed by their beautiful presence.
There is so much love at Soul Quest, they care for our souls, I felt at home. They help so many people, I saw so many radical true transformations in myself as well as in others that attended. The medicine is excellent and combined with their expert staff and the refined space they hold makes it a truly marvelous experience. It’s a very valuable place in this universe on this planet worthy of going to many times as a spiritual oasis. I am so blessed to have found Soul Quest. God loves us. Go to Soul Quest. Let God open your soul. Be Blessed.
P.S. Rapé and Kambo are awesome! Do it!
Is there a way I can leave a 10 Star review??? No? That’s a shame, because I would in a heartbeat! I don’t even know where or how to begin. My husband and I just got home today from the Nov. 16th-18th, 2018 weekend. I am having trouble finding the words to adequately describe my experience or my feelings about it.
Adjectives- transformational, healing, loving, mind blowing, healing, liberating, exceptional, miraculous..and so many more.
Everyone at Soul Quest is incredible, the Shaman, the staff, the volunteers, Aya (the amazing feline spirit), and circle that shared this experience with us, all of whom I have a deep and abiding love for that I will carry in my heart forever.
The location is beautiful, serene and perfectly planned out to make guests comfortable, cared for, and loved throughout their entire experience. This was my first Ayahuasca experience and my heart is so filled with love and gratitude, I can barely contain it! It may have been my first, but it will not be my last!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
I am a kinder and more loving person now because of my experience at Soul Quest with the plant medicine ayahuasca.
The center is very comfortable and beautiful. The staff was outstandingly welcoming and radically inclusive in their treatment of me and all of the men and women in attendance.
The plant medicine worked to show me, in the most patient and forgiving way,my deepest flaws, the harmful patterns of my ego, and allowed me to make the changes necessary to living my most authentic and loving life. I was held in mama ayahuasca’s infinitely tender and unconditionally loving embrace and I’ve never known such ecstasy.
Through watching the experiences of the others (some painful, some difficult) I learned and gained profound insights into the nature of love and suffering on this planet.
I came into this experience angry and bitter about the circumstances of my life. I came out of this experience at peace and full of understanding about the meaning and purpose of my life, of life on this beautiful earth, and
Soul Quest is a more than a retreat, it is where you go to find the knowledge you need in order to heal yourself. All the staff are the most caring team I have ever met, they are Guardian Angels and with you every step along the way. If you seek knowledge to help you on your quest to be the best version of yourself than look no further than Soul Quest in Orlando, Florida. If you hear the calling, this is the place for you. It is perfection in an imperfect world.
I have been at Soul Quest 2 years ago and recently! I had both visits the most amazing time and just love the people and the energy there!
But I also wanted to say that I have witnessed so many amazing changes. They really came a long way and worked hard to be were they are at now!
The work and details they put in the facility itself – it was nice before but it looks so beautiful and precious now.
Their professionalism is beyond words. The new integration concept with weekly calls is so helpful to feel supported even after you leave!
Thank you Soul Quest Team for all the work you do! I will be back in March for your 5 day retreat!
5 stars!!!! this place was truly amazing. Kind staff, attentive, everything flowed with ease. So nurturing ..It felt like coming home. Grounds were really beautiful and quiet. So many other healing modalities to help me in my healing journey. I’ve been to another retreat center out of the country, and it was great and all, this place was soooo reasonably priced that I could afford to go and attend in the states, have stronger medicine and rape’, which I liked, and I am already planning to attend in Jan. as soon as they come up with the schedule. I would visit here if you can. You must come here.
My first time taking the medicine, or really, doing anything like this before at all. I signed up for the 3 day weekend retreat at SoulQuest and the experience I received was beyond anything I could have ever imagined, I was not expecting the lessons mother ayahuasca taught me. During my first ceremony it was as if she knew exactly what I needed to learn in order to take full advantage of everything SoulQuest was offering, because like I said I had never done any of this stuff before, never done yoga, or breath work, and since my body was exhausted, I could see my old self easily dismissing certain things and not participating in them (I do love sleep after all). But instead, my first journey with her, she came to me and taught me about maturity, responsibility, accountability, and just how strong of a person I was. After that night, I powered through ever obstacle I came across. I felt so invigorated and empowered, even when I felt weak, I regained my power and my strength to press on. That in itself would have been enough of a lesson to change my life, but then I did yoga and breath work and a day time ceremony, and one more night time ceremony. Every activity I took part in showed me more and more about myself. My ultimate take away from my lessons were self care, strength, and responsibility. Not including the countless other things I was shown. The staff and volunteers were so, so wonderful. These people are doing god’s work. They seem to know exactly what you need whether it’s tenderness and understanding or to just step back and allow you to work things out for yourself, they are there for you every step of the way. I’m getting goosebumps just thinking about all this again.
The difference between ayahuasca and western techniques for healing is, ayahuasca creates the potential for you to heal yourself, as opposed to a life time of pharmaceuticals and therapists trying to heal you. I never truly understood that I had the power to heal me until my weekend at SoulQuest. I will be back, as a member for even more healing, but also as a volunteer. Watching other people experience their own miracles is so moving and wonderful. I can’t wait to be apart of this new world I’ve been shown. If you happen to live in a Western country, I would not feel bad about suggesting to you to start with SoulQuest first before going to a South American retreat. I myself will one day go to a South American retreat but for my first time, SoulQuest did not disappoint (in fact it was more than I could have ever expected), my experience was not lessened just because it took place in the United States, and the cost was very fair. It really it a great stepping stone and an easy way to transition into a more spiritual lifestyle without it being a huge culture shock. I seriously cannot wait to go back and dig deeper inside myself. This was the greatest thing I’ve ever done for myself. Thank you so much to all the wonderful people who were there, who worked hard to keep us newbies safe and secure. You’re such a gift to this world. Thank you to Verena, Chris, Dr. Scott, and Charlie for allowing this place to even exist. So much love to you all. Can’t wait to see you in the future.
I have never been to a place and experienced so much pain and so much love at the same time. The experience is very therapeutic and in many cases very personal for everyone. This means that participants must make the experience their own.
1. I went by myself and I am a shy person. I always felt safe and cared for by the staff and volunteer facilitators. Everyone welcomed me with love and respect.
2. The website information is accurate. The facilities are just as they appear. This isn’t a five star hotel. Bring what you need to feel comfortable (pillows, a special blanket, and any other personal items).
3. There were scheduled activities such as Yoga, counseling, and psychotherapy. I took my first Yoga class and it was absolutely wonderful. Some activities will be extra cost so consider bringing cash. If you don’t sign up immediately on the website for any extra sessions, you may have an opportunity to do so if you change your mind. They can easily charge your account, so the process was simple. Many people did this while I was there.
4. There was absolutely no pressure from anyone to participate. This is your individual journey and you make the choices. This also was a judgment free zone.
5. By the end of our weekend, we all felt a bond. Many people shared contacts, pictures and became friends. Again, there’s no pressure to do so if you choose to remain to yourself.
6. The integration sessions – a time the next morning after each ceremony to share your experience – are nicely facilitated by Dr. Scott were wonderful. This wasn’t a group therapy session, just a time to express your feelings and experiences if you desire. Attendance is mandatory, but you are not pressured to share. I found it helpful to help process your experience.
7. On my weekend there was at least one person who didn’t have a positive experience for one reason or another. That is ok. We are all unique people with unique personalities and needs. You need to come with an open mind and make the experience your own.
This was an experience I will never forget. I am so humbled to have had it and grateful that I found a place and some wonderful people who ensured that I felt safe to experience it. We all were on our personal journeys that eventually got us there. Some had been there before. We all made the choice to go to deal with the emotional baggage we have been carrying, and in some cases, struggling with for many years. I found the experience helpful to make sense of it all. Good luck on your journey! I hope you find what you are looking for.
This place is amazing! They made me feel so welcomed from the wonderful hug before I even walked through the door to the tear filled hugs on the way out. The beautiful beings of Soul Quest Church and Mother Ayahuasca are here to help us all. The experience cannot be quantified with mere words, because it is different for everyone.Take the time to get to know yourself, you are worth it.
I have had an absolutely amazing first time experience with ayahuasca at Soul Quest over the weekend in Orlando. I would like to express the utmost gratitude to Chris Young, his staff and all the volunteers for their exceptional work and loving care. It was a busy rainy weekend interrupted with flooding but seems like there is nothing they can’t handle. At first my concern was the volume of the people attending but it was no problem or any inconvenience at all. My personal journey was extremely intense and exciting, getting attention from shaman at exactly the right time. Taita is absolutely awesome, he knows his stuff and made me feel like him and Chris were on this wild journey with me. I was able to rest and recover (the holotropic breath work with Dr. Scott was amazingly healing) after exhausting 1st night to do it all over again, only this time mother Ayahuasca took good care of me herself. I can’t express enough how much this experience meant to me. I will definitely be returning and i recommend it to everyone who feels the call. Do not hesitate and dive in, you’ll be glad you did, it’s worth every penny.
The staff here is exemplary! The location is fabulous and I was treated with love and respect from time I walked in, until I left. I even got a message from one of the staff to check and see how I was hours after leaving. I’d recommend this for anyone looking to advance their spiritual journey. I’m not the same person I was when I arrived. I feel healthier, happier, and filled with love.
Beautiful place, beautiful people, beautiful experience…
I did not know what to expect upon arriving to Soul Quest. This was my first Ayahuasca retreat and I have to say I was blown away by the love I received from the staff and people on this journey with me. We had an amazing group of people. Everyone was in it together. My experience with Ayahuasca is unexplainable. Getting home after the retreat, I feel calm and more at peace. Thank you so much for an amazing opportunity to grow spiritually and connect with others who are looking to better themselves!
I had that life changing ayahuasca experience at Soul Quest! It was my first time to Soul Quest and 8th experience with ayahuasca.
The staff and volunteers at Soul Quest are so wonderful. They create a welcoming and healing environment, provide that watchful eye, and gently “heard the cats” to keep the schedule moving along. Just seeing how much they care about others, respect ayahuasca, and how hard they work, is enough to touch one’s heart. They are exactly the people that you want around when things start getting “intense”.
Dr. Scott is a wealth of knowledge and experience, he is an absolute sweet heart and sincerely wants to help people. Do his breath work class, and if you smoke those nasty cigs then go talk to him about kicking that habit.
The brother and sister that facilitate the day ceremony are magical, I can’t believe I can’t remember their names. I had my life changing experience during this ceremony. They created such a beautiful, loving, peaceful space. I am so grateful for this because it allowed me to experience the world with a new perspective. I felt like I was a guest who was visiting this magical world they live in, and if I pull my head out of my ass, I too could live each day in that world.
Tatia Pedro is the real deal, he has such positive energy, he is something really truly special. During the day ceremony he literally read my mind, and told me what I was experiencing. He impacted so many others too. Everyone who received a cleansing from him had such incredible testimonies. They actually looked like much lighter, peaceful people after their cleansing.
Xiomara is so cool, she brings that Mom vibe to the group and works so hard. You can just tell she puts her heart and soul into this and is there because she believes in this process. If you start missing your mom or feel like you need your mom, then seek out Xiomara.
Carlos brings that dad vibe, he’s so calm and solid. You literally can’t sneak away from him. I thought I managed to wander off a couple of times but nope, Carlos was standing right there, patiently waiting and watching over.
Jessica Joy busted her ass the weekend I was there. This woman never stopped cooking, cleaning, and helping people. The only time I saw her sit down was when almost everyone had left, and even then she only sat down for like a minute. She also has this cool earthy feminine energy that she brings to the group. I did not have enough time to get a tarot card reading from Jessica or I would have, she kept blowing people’s minds with her readings.
I will for sure be back to Soul Quest. The formula that they have works! Such an incredible experience, that I can’t explain with words. If you’re thinking of trying ayahuasca, go to Soul Quest, you’ll be in good hands.
A warm and welcoming spiritual and healing center The staff and volunteers are delightful and caring. They offer loving guidance, tender assistance, and a watchful eye during ceremonies. Shaman Taita worked his magic throughout the night and also provided individual attention to several members who shared that it was exhilarating. Dr. Scott Irwin is a rare gem who radiates love, compassion, intelligence, wisdom and brings his amazing skills to the retreats that makes it extraordinary. He engages people in a magical way. I feel very fortunate to have him there. He also leads Holotropic Breath Work that is wonderful.
Chris Young shared helpful advice and shared some of his experiences that I needed to know. He skillfully managed to lead the ceremonies in new and different settings when an unexpected downpour of rain flooded the ceremony area. I recommend that you join. I witnessed so much healing and life-changing experiences. I am glad I joined. I went as a single female and never once felt vulnerable or uncomfortable. I was safe and received much attention. We had an amazing group from all over the world and a full moon that made the weekend special. I learned from every member and will remember the retreat with fondness. I look forward to meeting up with the members again in the future.
I’ve just completed a 3 day and it was incredible by every since of the word..Remember when you are seeking GOD and wanting to know your purpose GOD will place you in caring arms as he did for me and thousands of others at Soulquest in Orlando. First rate facility, with attentive and equally knowledgeable staff that’s there for ‘YOU’. I bid you GOD speed on your journey.. Terry
I attended a 3 day ceremony recently, and had some profound experiences. The staff was very attentive and professional- they create a safe, nurturing environment and the integration sessions are very well-run. They include holotropic breathwork, which I found to be key to my experience. It is a casual, peaceful place, and it was easy for me to settle in and connect to the experience. This is a great option if you can’t travel abroad for a longer ceremony experience. I plan to return for another 3 day ceremony, and have been recommending them to my clients and friends on the path.
It has been 3 weeks since my journey and I am still feeling the wonderful healing. I have lost almost 15lbs and quit smoking cigarettes because I want to love myself and not hurt myself / my temple anymore. I am practicing breath work a little more each day and taking up Yoga as I was 250lbs with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, sweating and out of breathe ao easily. I am not where I want to be but thank God I am not where I used to be. These new practices all came after the medicine and I have been keeping in touch with a few leaders in the church who have really been a huge support. As far as the medicine, I have gone deep deep deep before at other places but never have I experienced the “healing” power so much that I needed help, had such an ego death and almost wanted it to stop lol. Thats AYAHUASCA! I am truly thankful to my Lord and Savior for using Chris Young and his team of angels and providing me with such an amazing medicine!!! I look forward to returning every few months…
Walking in I felt disconnected. Walking out I felt like a new person. I wasn’t anticipating the confidence boost it would give me just to reconnect with my soul and others in love and light. I truly feel like this experience has changed my life and set me back on a spiritual path. I am forever grateful to the selfless staff, the shaman and the medicine. I am so looking forward to the future! And who knows…I will probably be back.
Soul Quest is a game changer, the staff and team bring thousands of years of tradition to the U.S. which is much needed; big pharma would rather keep us on prescription pills and sick for the rest of our lives. The staff does an amazing job in creating the perfect setting to allow plant medicine to heal all. I am very fortunate to have been graced with the presence of Shaman – Taita Pedro Davila as he brought his family lineage of Plant Medicine and Shamanism that is passed down to him from Ecuador. Along with Dr. Scott Irwin who holds several degrees ranging from Transpersonal Psychology to being a Master Reiki teacher, who lead us on an amazing Holotrophic Breathwork session. Also the founder Chris Young, who has held the space for thousands of healings to take place. His heart and soul is in the right space as you heal and learn from mother Aya, no detail was left out, down to every song for the perfect setting to allow healing to take place. The volunteers/ light workers also radiate in love, helping to raise the consciousness of humanity as we bring upon a new earth that radiates with love and compassion of all sentient beings. You will leave this place healed and beaming in love. I plan to return several times per year to reset and retune myself.
Soul Quest was awesome. The most profound spiritual experience Ive had. Mother Atahuasca goes right to the wounds. The staff is amazing. Very professional and loving.
I 100% recommend the experience. Whether you’re weighted down by anger and blocked with old emotions, like I was, and you want to let go or you want to receive something you need from the Universe (or God or Gaia or whichever higher power you connect with), it will happen. I left with a faith I’ve never had, I let go of so much anger and negative energy, I’m lighter, I’m full of love and I learned how to be uncomfortable. I love myself now and I’m conscious in daily decisions. It strengthened my yoga practice. I connected with my breath, with prana, for the first time during the ceremony. I experienced a still mind for the first time. All the things I knew going into the weekend, I now believe. It’s like a God-given reset button for our souls and bodies.
I had a great weekend with Chris and his crew. They are very professional and supportive of your journey. I would recommend Soul Quest to anyone to experience Mother Ayahuasca in a safe environment.
The experiences were transforming as I internalized new understandings of my place in the universe and my value, being held by a higher power. The community reflected the diversity of God’s peaceable realm, people of every race and creed, people with differing sexual orientations, sharing reverence for the mystical, healing energy that works miracles. It was especially good to see women in leadership, and to share the sacrament with people of different ages. There is an unspoken humility and a clarity of purpose that are sincere spirituality. Life is renewed. Thank you Soul Quest.
I came with a lot of expectations most important was all about my pain and why this happened ( in last 18 month I had 4 surgeries 10 hours of anastasia planty of screws and same implants in my back, nerve damage…). I was angry I couldn’t think/talk about my situation without filling bad. And then one night in Soul Quest has changed my life… I had a vision that all of my anger is taking from me. From the very next day I can talk about my past without anger!!!… I took me another a couple of days to be sure that my pain was taken from me too!!!
I have experienced total happiness where every cell in my body was happy ( and still IS , when I am thinking about this righ now) , after 2 years of extreme pain it is truly blessing.
Please do not believe me, I did not believe others, but I had nothing to lose ( life on pain drugs is not life… I do not remember last 2 years of my life) it is the best what I did in my life.
Sorry for my English – it is my second language
Amazing experience, caring staff and welcoming community – I am so glad I went to the retreat. I highly recommend it to everyone! Thank you Chris and staff for your kind support. – DR
I visited Soul Quest in December of 2017. I had an amazing experience and got much more than I expected. Chris and the staff are absolutely amazing, caring, nurturing, compassionate people. I cannot recommend them enough. Great facilities, great environment, great people. I am a member of the Church and plan on returning soon to experience it all once again. If you choose Soul Quest, you’re in great hands. Much love and peace.
I had a life-changing experience on my first encounter with this powerful plant medicine, that opened me up to the spirit world, and opened me up in general, by hightening my sensitivity to the subtle energies of the Universe, to the subtle energies of myself and of my surroundings. I am still wrapping my head around the experiential knowledge that I received from my journey — so many insights and mind-blowing phenomena that I received.
The facility itself has good space and has good energy. 5 acres of land surrounded by trees, to bring in that loving earth energy — a great space to start or to strengthen your spiritual journey, and/or to continue your healing process. After my fist ceremony ended at 2 a.m., I was wide awake, and I just sat up looking at the stars and listening to the sounds of the night, full of awe and gratitude, until dawn greeted us with light-yellow, peach and orange colors on the eastern skies.
The staff is professional, welcoming, kind and caring. They’re cleaning our vomit and other bodily fluids — that already says a lot about the type of work that this crew has agreed to. They know they are in charge of our bodies while our minds and souls go on journey, and they take great responsibility for it.
No, it might not be the most traditional shamanic experience that you might have read about, heard about or experienced. But there is no disrespect to the Mother, here. In fact, there is great reverence. It’s co-creative. We all take part in the creation of the ceremony. It’s what we bring into the space. If we bring the sacredness with us, Spirit already recognizes it, and enters into the space with all its healing powers and its gifts. As an artist, I know that tradition is only there to guide us, not to put shackles on us and forcing us to do anything in only one specific way. It’s up to us to use our intuition and work with Divine Guidance in creating the best new way forward. I’m thankful for Chris for being a trailblazer and for introducing this powerful healing and transformative medicine to this part of the country — for making it accessible to somebody like me, who would never dream of venturing into the jungles for this type of experience.
I am so lucky to find this hidden treasure just 30 minutes from home. I received love and kindness from Chris and the staff at Soul Quest. They were very helpful helping me to work with the medicine. My journey was not easy but I found healing in the process and left with a feeling of gratitude and humility. I am very grateful!
The ayahuasca ceremonies at Soul Quest in Orlando have been life changing events for me. Chris Young (founder) is an amazingly kind and humble human being– as well as a trailblazer in this country with regard to this sacred plant medicine. May God bless him for this. The staff/facilitators are also wonderful and truly care about all those who walk through the doors of Soul Quest. Medical safety is clearly a priority for them, as they keep a close watch on everyone during and after each ceremony. Facilities are kept very clean. My sincere gratitude to the wonderful healers at Soul Quest.
Awesome place and experience at Soulquest. Chris and his staff are above and beyond in hospitality and knowledge. Just an unbelievable experience that words can not describe. I cant wait to go back and have another great time
I recently participated in a day program at Soul Quest and had previously participated in the weekend program. I find the staff very knowledgeable and very committed to participants healing experience.
I think the medicine is of good quality and staff take care to work with you to determine a good dose. I’m 65 and am interested in continuing my work with Mother Aya because of the healing qualities of detoxification and the effect on depression.
I went to the mother to heal mother/child relationship and was shown unconditional comfort and love. The test is in the living afterward and I feel a shift in my relationship and reactions. This medicine is a gift , and I am grateful to Mother Aya and to Soul quest staff, thier intentions are sincere in sharing medicine with as many people as they can
Utmost gratitude! Before coming to Soul Quest I only existed. For years I existed. I continued to live for the sake of my parents. I could not find a reason to live for myself. I was in the belly of depression. I spent most of my time in bed, favored the night, and was drawn to dark subject matters. Years ago I went to a psychiatrist. He placed me on medication after medication in an attempt to find the correct cocktail. I grew weary of the process and stopped taking the medications. I decided to treat myself. I took St. John’s Wort to no avail. I began drinking excessively day and night in an effort to escape the despair I felt. I made a point of keeping alcohol readily available. After leaving work in the morning I knew where to go to purchase it. If I awakened late at night to empty bottles, I made sure to purchase more before 2am.
In June of this year Mother Aya led me to Soul Quest. I was desperate for change and knew that I was slowly killing myself. The weekend of June 2nd my life was forever changed. Mother Aya counseled me in such a loving and beautiful way. She reminded me that I was enough and said to me that I had been holding my breath for a long time. She told me that I did not need to put up a wall, withdrawing from people. Among other things, she let me know I didn’t need alcohol. As she spoke to me I could not see her but I could feel her presence. She let me know that I was safe. It was as if my head was resting on her lap as she gently stroked my hair and smiled lovingly down at me. My heart was filled with such love and gratitude. For the first time in years I felt hopeful. My future was no longer bleak. As I gathered my belongings to return home I became emotional. I did not want to leave. I could hardly believe what I had found–a haven. The sheet I used for the ceremonies had been stained with ayahuasca. I didn’t want to wash it and so I decided to have it framed along with a plaque to commemorate that fateful weekend.
As of to date I’ve attended ten ceremonies. With every visit to Soul Quest she illuminates a blindspot. I no longer believe I need alcohol, something I once that was not possible. I no longer spend my days in bed. I’ve adopted a healthier lifestyle and I’ve lost over thirty pounds. I’ve attracted a number of positive experiences.
Thank you Chris for listening to your heart and establishing Soul Quest. Thank you to Anthony and Nischala for your love and support. Also thank you to the rest of the facilitators and volunteers. Your energy is beautiful and you all take such great care of everyone as they make their journeys. I’ve found my tribe!
I recently went on a retreat there with a couple of my Veteran brothers, and we all had a positively life changing experience. The staff was knowledgeable and welcoming from the moment we stepped foot on the property. Even though there were well over 30 people there we were all comfortably accommodated and well fed on a vegan menu that had me seriously rethinking my stance on cheeseburgers. All in all it was a great weekend and I strongly recommend it for anyone who is interested in getting away, clearing their mind, improving their lives or about Ayahuasca in general. You will be extremely pleased with your choice.
I drank here in the beginning and waited to post this because I didn’t want to diminish any healing that other people received. I’m incredibly happy for them. I also don’t want people to think it’s all rainbows. I’ve been asked to post this so here it is. I believe they are business first healing center second with that I decided it wasn’t the place for me after drinking there multiple times. The medicine is… was good but during my last retreat I attended the founder watered it down so he had enough which I thought that was super disrespect but these are just my beliefs and experiences. He said his supplier told him to but he didn’t do it until he realized he didn’t have enough for everyone, which sounded like hogwash to me. I realize everyone doesn’t view or respect the medicine the same way as I do. They also don’t have a curandero (English we say “shaman”) to guide ceremony and they do overcrowd like 20-25/30 people at a time with no true guidance or able to clear the space beside sage. If one does show up they usually don’t work with them for very long. The facilitators are nice and have good intentions but there also have been poor intentions there as well which have caused the two different entire staff to quit at once but new people join on that had good experiences. From my knowledge young women have been what I feel were taken advantage of and inappropriately treated in other subtle ways. People serving medicine shouldn’t mix with attendees in romantic ways as the guest have such a high status view of the server. I’m not saying people aren’t going to get healing there because I saw some beautiful things happen but I also saw some disgusting things happen that turned me completely off. Do your own research and see how it feels to you these are just my experiences from drinking there about 13 times looking for something that wasn’t there. It did get me to travel to Peru and have a life changing experience for this I am grateful it was a somewhat ugly stepping stone.
And to me it’s not about being hokey or not it’s doing one of the, if not the most powerful psychedelic which is traditionally always given with guidance until we learn to navigate the medicine ourselves. But again just my beliefs.
In the end, we follow our hearts to where it leads us.
I had great experiences at Soul Quest. The staff is professional, they exceeded my expectations! The ceremony is a bit different than the ones in Peru, the reason in my opinion is that it is adjusted to the cultural differences and this way can serve a modern human being better. There is no belief system forced on the members, this way it allows to experience raw spirituality and religiousness which is personal and unique for everyone.
This was an extremely empowering experience, shattering lack of self love and self confidence. The mother guided me through my darkest areas and showed me that no One can put out the fire inside me. We are the fire, the light and pieces of the source. We are all connected to the planet and it to us. While this is not Peru, a five star resort, or the Amazon with 30 year shamans it is bringing healing to a country that desperately needs it. While guidance from a life long shaman would be optimal, not all of us living paycheck to paycheck and really in the struggle have 4k set aside for a 14 day trip to the jungle. Shamans do sometimes attend spirit quest however Chris and his staff are well versed in the medicine brewing it on site. Chris sits with the plants all day protecting them as he prepares the aya. The ceremonies are performed with care and anything you need if you voice it they will help you attain. Hats off to them for standing up for humanity as a beacon of light in the darkness. Do not fear, change is one choice away.
I have done several ceriomonies over the past couple of months at Soul Quest. The experiences were incredible and the staff were totally amazing. Everything about the Aya Cerimonies was handled with utmost care and respect. Participants are given very loving guidance along the way. The staff are all very experienced and have a tremendous amount of heart and compassion. There is also a very strong sense of community.
If Mother Ayahuasca is calling you, find her here.
I am so glad I found Soulquest for my first Ayahuasca journey.
And I absolutely intend to return when I can.
The medicine was as powerful as I needed.
The facilities felt safe, clean and comfortable.
The staff were very experienced, knowledgeable and kind.
My fellow church members were incredibly intelligent, compassionate and supportive.
They soon felt like brothers and sisters to me.
The medicine is treated with respect and honor.
I experienced powerful healing that has made lasting changes in my life.
It is quite a blessing to have Soulquest available to us.
Thank you Chris for this gift you’re sharing with the world.
The healing is much needed.
I hope to see you all again soon.
Aloha Ke Akua
amazing place and people. They really are into a mission to help humanity…. Love the team and the location. Thanks so much guys
Everything about the retreat was absolutely incredible. The medicine gave me the breakthroughs I needed and helped me let go of pain that I was completely unaware that I was holding. I originally went to Soul Quest for consciousness expansion and left with that and so much more. I feel as if I lived a lifetime in one weekend and it blew the doors of my awareness wide open. In addition to the medicine, the staff was especially incredible. Any questions I had were answered immediately, the facilitators were extremely kind, loving, and radiated positive energy. The facilities themselves had everything you could ask for (clean showers, clean bathrooms, multiple different residency choices), and the vegetarian meals they provided were delicious. I highly recommend the Soul Quest experience for anyone who wishes to have an experience with Mother Ayahuasca. This retreat is perfect for anyone from beginners on down to those with vast psychedelic experience. I will definitely be attending and volunteering in the future. Soul Quest has had an extremely profound impact on my life in just three short days, and I am extremely grateful for the experience.
I had my first experience of Amazonian medicine at Soul Quest. I am indefinitely grateful for Soul Quest and Chris (the owner). I had hoped this medicinal plant might change me somehow but my experience at Soul Quest was beyond anything I could’ve hoped for. I had figured out a few options of traveling over-seas to a traditional place in the rainforest before I discovered Soul Quest, and I am SO grateful to have found this place and took the chance! I was not sure if Chris would be able to provide the Amazonian experience I was seeking but it was the BEST experience of my life! I can’t imagine how uncomfortable and scared I may have been the first time if I was in a foreign country without many English speakers. I felt very comfortable and safe at Soul Quest and with the facilitators. It was everything I needed, spiritually and emotionally. I felt so transformed by my experience at Soul Quest, being a local at the time, I continued to participate in multiple ceremonies.
If anyone has ANY complaints about their experience at Soul Quest, then they obviously did not voice their issue to any of the facilitators so that it could be addressed. Chris and his team are all amazing, loving and caring souls with beautiful energy that will do everything in their power to make you comfortable and help during your journey. I learned, achieved and experienced more than I thought possible within a very short period of time at Soul Quest than all my many years of spiritual study and practice. It has been LIFE CHANGING for the better. I made more genuine friends and spiritual family members there than I have in my entire life. Though a ceremony in the amazon had always been my dream, I was able to have the spiritual experience I always wanted and needed at Soul Quest and wouldn’t trade it for the world.
Chris has an amazing selection of appropriate music for journeying that he plays via speaker system. Live drums, rattles and other instruments are also used during ceremony.
There’s such amazing, powerful, loving energy at this place that if you don’t enjoy yourself then you seriously have some things you need to work through. Soul Quest will hold space for you and help facilitate your journey but you must do your own self work with the medicine. I also recommend doing the day ceremony, I never knew such a magical connection to nature was possible!
Soul Quest is a solid and safe option for experiencing and working with Ayahuasca within the borders of the United States. Chris and his team ensure each participant a secure environment so they are able to understand their work with the medicine. I have personally sat with Ayahuasca in Costa Rica, Peru, the US and under the Santo Daime tradition. Based on my varied experiences I feel confident in advising Soul Quest as a responsible and capable home to find your journey. The medicine is spirited, the space is nice, the price is right and the care is there.
I visited this retreat. I am a member. It totally changed my life. Plus it was a cheaper route for me and in the United States. Good food, good people, clean facilities.
I attended a weekend retreat here at soulquest. It was very unprofessional. No shaman, no live icaros, the one’s doing the ceremony do not even take the medicine. The first night me and my wife attended the ayahaucca ceremony. We knew it wasn’t right but discussed it and agreed we had already paid so decided to go forward. Chris the owner said he tries to give people an aya experience without all the dogma. Which is fine if you just want to party but I would not advise to disrespect mother ayahaucca in that manner. Without the proper guidance ayahaucca and other shamanic medicines can be very very dangerous. I’m not going to go into detail what happened to me during my stay but I was up for 5 nights and almost ended up in the hospital. Although Chris and the staff are very nice people and might have good intentions. This in not a drug and should not be played with. I’ve spent over a month in Ecuador with very skilled and respectful people to the medicines and participants. [Gaia sagrada ] and spent a small time with teachers from the shipibo tribe in Peru. This happened to me with experience, it can happen to anyone. Please, I advise to be very careful. Especially if this is your first time. Just because something is cheaper and more covenant, doesn’t mean it’s better. Do your research. Make sure the people know what they are doing so you leave with the healing and love you went there for. Aho
