A small retreat center focused on individual healing plant medicine process in groups of no more than 10 participants at a time. We are located in the famous Sacred Valley of the Incas in a remote Andean village. We offer 4, 6 and 11 Day Retreats, all with the option to extend your stay for more time resting or deeper cleansing. The retreat healings plants and therapies include Ayahuasca, Yopo, San Pedro, Kambo and Temazcal (Sweat Lodge).
Our purpose is to create a ripple effect in the consciousness of humanity through work with sacred plant medicines of Peru and healing techniques we have chosen, through our own positive experiences, and believe compliment the process of plant medicines. We are here to help bring about a new earth, but first we must help heal the traumas of the past.
We first must begin healing the individual, but in a gentle process. Each participants process is considered on an individual basis and what the shaman and healers feel would be best suited to the healing they would like to accomplish. There is space to explore deeper and daily consultations with the shaman after ceremony to begin to understand the messages of the plant medicine and have a focus for the next ceremony.
The longer the retreat, the deeper the healing. All of our programs are intensive, however there is space to take your time in the healing process through extending your retreat or opting to take less or no medicine. We guide participants only to where they feel comfortable or ready for. The ceremonies are practiced in a sacred context with Icaros (medicine songs) and sacred instruments. Each ceremony has assistants to help care for each person and anything they need.
Our respect and love for the Pachamama or Mother Earth knows no bounds. At the center we are reducing, reusing and recycling all that we can. We ask you to be conscious of your footprint and when you come to Peru, to leave no trace. Plastics and packaging are problem here and we do not have the infrastructure to consolidate and recycle these types of products. For this reason we have bought and use the best water filters available here in Peru and ask you bring a reusable water bottle.
While we are working on building our center in the jungle, to grow ayahuasca, bananas, cacao and other sacred medicinal plants, for the moment we are continuing to practice in the Andes, as we always have and will. Many people are drawn to the jungle for her source of ayahuasca vine, however others want to experience the kind and friendly faces of the Andes and the sacred surroundings. It is called the Sacred Valley because it is sacred, the plants and crops here grow freely to give us all that we need in abundance. Where else is there are fruit trees, Incan corn and cactus all growing in the same area?
During your time at the retreat you will have everything you need for a comfortable stay with all modern necessities. We provide everything, you need only to bring yourself and a few pairs of warmer clothes. In the Andes, we can experience all four seasons in one day, but tend to have cold nights and warm days. There are Incan ruins above the center and plenty of hiking trails around, so comfortable clothes and good shoes are a must.
With our hearts we are bringing every person into the healing power of the sacred medicinal plants of Peru through ceremony.

I’ve postponed writing my review of the 11-day retreat I did at Shamanic Vida in April because I wanted to be able to speak to the long-term benefits of the medicine and of the holistic healing program Chrissy and Pacco are offering. Now that it’s been almost 3 months since the last ceremony, I can say without reservation that attending this retreat was among the top three best decisions I’ve ever made for myself. I won’t go into detail about the radically positive transformations I underwent because what each person gets out of working with Ayahuasca is a very individual thing, but I know that the care that Chrissy and Pacco and all the other kind souls in their crew put into creating such an optimal, magical sanctuary for healing and growth was an essential part of this. I also had the time of my life and was definitely not alone in that feeling 🙂
I can only echo the sentiments of the previous reviewers about how perfect every element of it is. Pacco’s heart is big enough to encompass the earth. Chrissy and Pacco are incredibly generous with their empathy, energy, and wisdom. All that you need is there, and more.
I would highly recommend Shamanic Vida. Pacco and Chrissy are simply amazing, beautiful people along with their daughter and Peruvian dog Mini. The retreat itself is set in the sacred valley close to a waterfall which is so beautiful. The rooms are really clean, comfy beds and warm showers! The food is really good which is surprising as the diet is quite limiting. They make their home feel like your home I didn’t want to leave it’s just the most peaceful place I’ve ever been! The ceremonies were perfect, everyone goes through their own journey and it’s amazing to share your experiences (if you want to) as you learn so much from everyone else. Pacco is probably the coolest guy I’ve met! He chats to you in confidence everyday to see how you are and answer any questions you have and give you guidance. Chrissy is also always available too. What was really comforting was Pacco sleeps in the Maloka so after your ayahuasca ceremony if you want to you can stay there and sleep or you can just go to your room when you want. He plays the most beautiful music during the ceremony which really helps. I must admit the hardest part is returning home and integrating what you’ve learnt you into your daily life. My advice to anyone considering doing an ayahuasca retreat is to just relax and trust in the process I will definitely be back to Shamanic Vida when I’m ready for another life changing experience! It truely has helped me heal and I will be forever grateful. Thank you so much Chrissy and Pacco.
I did the 11 day retreat and so happy that I did!
My retreat included 5 Ayahuasca ceremonies, several Kambo and San Pedro experiences, I also was able to experience Rapée, Sananga, a sweat lodge ceremony, Reiki attunement, yoga, meditation, fires at night and an incredible hike up the mountain to a stunning waterfall. I felt comfortable and safe during the entire retreat. Everything was optional and no questions asked if we chose to opt out, but I felt so much healing with each modality, that I jumped at every opportunity!
The place is GORGEOUS, surrounded by breathtaking mountains with a magnificent river flowing down with easy access just steps away from the rooms. There is a hot shower too, but I enjoy a rinse in the river to add another element to my healing 🙂
Paco’s music during the ceremonies was absolutely magical. For myself, I have a challenging time with surrendering but following the music and feeling it deep within my body was key to my successful journey with Mama Ayahuasca. The variety of instruments and harmonies played was not only impressive but helpful for setting the tone for my journey. The setting, the people, the vibe, everything was perfect!
This was my first experience doing any of these plant medicines, I had no idea what to expect and yet it exceeded all expectations! Looking forward to going back!
An amasing and unique experience… I felt blessed to had such a wonderful opportunity.. Pacco, Chrissy and all the volunteers are the right people that you need if you want to see how peaceful can be a person.. They really take care of your needs and put love in everything they do.
We had a great preparation for all the cerimonies with yoga and different kinds of meditation. The cerimonies were magic I could truly feel the healing power of the medicine. you can feel connected with your partners like being in a tribe.
Something to repeat for sure.
Thanks for everything
I had an absolutely amazing time here! Paco was a great Shaman, his music and singing sounded other-worldly during the ceremonies. He also had a great sense of humor. I was appreciative of the small groups during the ceremonies and the consultations the next day to discuss your experiences. The volunteers were on hand to help with water, tissues and getting you to the bathroom if needed. I followed the recommended diet the best I could leading up to the retreat, I think it helped nicely to adapt to the intermittent fasting and vegetarian diet while there. I had brought along snacks just in case, but I didn’t need them. The bananas here are so sweet. There was plenty of time between ceremonies, yoga, and meditation to reflect on your experiences, as well as get to know the other guests. Minny was a very cool and friendly dog! Chrissy was a wonderful host, she was quick to answer any questions and help to resolve any issues. The weather was warm during the day and quite cool at night. I would definitely go back and recommend this retreat to anyone.
Once again, we would like to apologize for the hot showers not being up to your standards upon arrival. This from the very depths of our beings, we were sorry for and I boiled you water for a hot bath because I was so sorry and felt responsible. We have tried our best to fix this issue between us in a peaceful and resonable way. Originally, we had solar showers installed. We were not able to foresee, their not being up to guests standards as they only worked during the day after a few hours of sunshine. When we realized this, we went and bought a new instant gas powered hot shower heater. Now, anyone can take a hot shower, any time of day. If anyone is concerned we might not have hot showers, I am happy to talk about this over the phone.
Our location is secluded, but not far from a medical center. Should there be any emergency we have cars and are a 15 minute drive from the medical center.
Juanita, would not appreciate being called an old lady, as she is only in her thirties. She is a busy body, and sometimes I have to ask her to slow down. This is her natural way. As part of our family, we make sure Juanita is taken care of and so is her family. Her husband also works for us. Her custom of washing very dirty things in the river and then putting them in the laundry is ok with us! She does an amazing job and our gratitude for her job is endless and unwavering.
As a healing center, we practice a traditional dieta. This involves intermittent fasting, which we talk about on the first nights introduction to the retreat, that only the first day of ayahuasca ceremony we serve breakfast and then you fast until the ceremony. Anyone who has trouble fasting may have fruits.
If you leave your door open during the day, you may get flies in your room. It is lucky to see an Andean spider while here, but not likely.
The beds are a year and a couple months old. If you like a more cushioned mattress, we have mattress toppers.
I choose to chew on Coca leaves recently, instead of drinking coffee. For me it is a better alternative at the moment. Also, culturally normal here in Peru.
Getting off pain medications, to help heal yourself, is a courageous step and often a painful and difficult process. We (myself, Pacco, volunteers, yoga teachers and Juanita) are here to make everyone’s stay as comfortable as possible, and we did everything within our power to help you.
Suggestions we have received to improve the new retreat with some little tweaks are being put into motion this week before the new retreat begins.
Thank you for your feedback and we wish you the best!
This is Chrissy. We are deeply sorry for the discontent you now feel.
Ricardo speculates we have given our daughter ayahuasca because we told the story of how we brought her to the jungle when she was five months old for a “baptism”. What he selectively did not hear is – what plants we washed her with. She was being blessed/protected into an open-minded culture of love and plant healing with the Shipibo Indians of Peru… There are plenty of people young and old, who practice in ayahuasca ceremonies, Santo Daime, Shipibo-Conibos, Ashaninkas, Machigengas and so many tribes up and down the amazon river in the vast continent of South America. When, what, how, why, they take the medicine is between their tribe and family.
When you were here you said you had never felt so much love in your life and were filled with gratitude for the work we do. You even asked for our address to send gifts. Since your retreat, we have continued to happily do our work and the other guests have felt the healing and love we put into our retreats.
To me, it is unnecessary to get into personal details on a public website. For everyone reading this: It is important to understand what you should and should not expect during and after retreats. We are not psychologists or therapists, but plant medicine healers. However, I am happy to help you find an integration specialist and/or psychologist in San Francisco.
We have always been a safe haven for participants who identify as gay and will continue to be.
Our best wishes,
Chrissy, Pacco and Liana
First of all, I am going to start off by saying that this new retreat location JUST opened up all of 2 weeks ago. They are still putting the final touches together and taking care of things to make this place even more amazing than it already is. With that being said, I am so insanely incredible and thankful to have experienced Shamanic Vida! I bought the 6 day retreat. It was absolutely life changing. Their new location is BREATHTAKING! The setting is picture perfect in the Sacred Valley. It is a very private area with a beautiful river next to it. The walk up is a little steep, but it is so worth it for the location. Once I arrived I immediately felt welcomed and safe with Pacco and Chrissy. We did an Amazonian Cleanse the first night and it worked wonders. We also got to do a Rapè Ceremony that night as well which was very relaxing.
The entire retreat has hammocks set up, instruments, books, and wind chimes everywhere. It was so peaceful and relaxing the entire time. There were optional classes such as yoga and reiki which you could choose if you wanted to attend or not. The classes were really awesome, I took every one. My 6 day retreat included 3 Ayahuasca Ceremonies, 1 San Pedro Ceremony/Hike, and Kambo.
The rooms were small and quaint. Each room had 2 beds with plenty of blankets and some towels. The dining room area was nice and they had 3 meals per day. Even if you had to fast, they always had food available for after the ceremony. The food was actually really good. The bathrooms were very nice and big with showers in both. They run off solar power so it is important to try and utilize energy when you can. Also, they always had plenty of toilet paper which was a MUST lol.
Every Ayahuasca ceremony was absolutely magical! It was my first time and I was definitely a little intimidated by the plant medicine, but the entire time Pacco kept me calm. The Maloca is a good size and it can fit up to probably 12 people. There are really beautiful tapestries hanging around, many beautiful instruments, and sleeping bags with plenty of pillows and blankets for each person as well as a puke bucket. The medicine is a strong brew, I immediately felt it every time I took it. Pacco played music the entire ceremony and always made sure we were comfortable no matter what. That was SO important to me! I felt completely safe and comfortable. There was always a volunteer during the ceremonies to facilitate and make sure we always had water or assist us to the bathroom. Pacco will always offer a second dose as well which I thought was cool in case you didn’t feel it or felt like you needed more. Every ceremony was amazing and we never had more than 8 or 9 people in there. I loved the fact that it was smaller groups because it is more intimate.
Everyday Pacco would always ask you about your journey, how you were feeling, give advice, and just was a thoroughly incredible Shaman all around. You can trust him and Chrissy with ANYTHING. They are just both very genuine and caring people. Their baby Leanna is super adorable and well behaved and they have the cutest Peruvian Hairless dog Mini! Their helper Juanita was awesome and all of the volunteers were just wonderful. Even the guys who were working on the premesis were so friendly and it was just all around great vibes.
The San Pedro hike was the most intense but breathtaking adventure I have ever experienced. I’m not going to lie it wasn’t easy, BUT you always have the option to opt out or stop wherever you feel like. Pacco and the crew made sure everyone was safe at all times. Chrissy even hiked with the baby on her back which I thought was kick ass! It was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had. Afterwards we had a nice fire to keep us warm and HOT SHOWERS.
The Kambo was great! I ended up actually coming back after my retreat was over just to get more. I took the bus from Cusco to San Salvador and ended up staying another night there because I loved it so much. They were so accommodating the entire time. I am definitely coming back to Shamanic Vida the next chance I get. It is like a home to me now and I will be forever grateful for the beautiful and magical experience they gave me. The plant medicines 100% changed my life. Thank you Pacco and Chrissy for everything!
My Third Visit to Shamanic Vida —
I cannot express in words how grateful I am to have met Chrissy & Pacco and for the tremendous amount of healing and personal growth that has occurred as a result of my experiences at Shamanic Vida!
This past retreat, which was my third, was especially incredible. I had the privilege of bringing my family with me this time with the intention of helping my sister heal from opioid addiction. My mother and father came along, which a year ago I would’ve never dreamt of happening.
Before arriving, Chrissy & Pacco guided us from afar to help my sister through the withdrawal period and prepare her to make the trip to Shamanic Vida. She was already in a much greater place and had made it through the acute withdrawal period. Her experience at Shamanic Vida was life-changing. She expressed being freed of her addiction halfway through the retreat and is doing extremely well three months later. She’s working, working out, smiling and social again… all things that the addiction ended up making impossible. It is the greatest gift to have my sister back and I don’t know how we could have done it without Chrissy and Pacco.
I grew a lot in the process as well and look forward to my fourth visit!
I had a very good time with Chrissy and Paco in December. I was keen to feel what a Peruvian experience would be like, after having had several experiences in the US. However, my first night was extremely difficult. I was out of sorts and felt bone-chilling cold throughout the night. It was an agonizing experience and one that I will never forget. Like the devil was having fun with me. The next morning, I connected strongly with Paco and Chrissy and some others there, and I was able to get my bearings back. I couldn’t quite understand what had happened. I decided not to partake in any more Ayahuasca ceremonies.
A couple of days later we had San Pedro. What an absolutely beautiful day that was! It restored my faith in the goodness in this world. We then had Kambo which knocked me out for a bit, but not scary at all, just a very unusual sensation. The Rape was strong and had a delicious kick to it — I could feel a wave of small currents flowing through my body everytime I took it.
It’s been a month since I got back. I’ve understood that hellishly agonizing experiences are just as useful as divine ones. It’s like a sine wave. For you to be able to go higher, the medicine will sometimes take you lower than you’ve ever been. There are no bad experiences. Everything is useful. Everything makes you grow spiritually. The medicine knows more than you. It gives you what you need in that moment, not what you were hoping for. It’s important to develop courage to face this possibility and not be deterred by temporary insanity.
That night prepared me for further experiences back in the US, in which I thankfully connected back to my divinity. It gave me the confidence to expect and accept the whole range of experiences possible and not desire only pleasant ones. All par for the course.
The 5 other participants had wonderful experiences with the medicine. I had a good time bonding with them over the 6 days. There are good hikes around, and an idyllic village nearby. They are building a new center which will open in Feb. That space will be larger than what they have now.
I don’t wish to scare anyone with this review. If this is one of your first experiences, you’ll likely have a great time. My first ten or so were gradual buildups to an absolutely divine connection.
I would recommend Paco and Chrissy anytime. They’re wonderful people who care about the participants. Their 1 year old daughter is delightful, as is the dog Mini. The lodging was rustic, the food was great, and I think the new center is going to be well equipped. I credit them for making me get back to normal after that first night.
Thank you so much Pacco and Chrissy ,
Miss you all loads! x
I know I needed help to get me me over a few hurdles , and I felt that Ayahuasca was going to help me and she did , she showed me what I needed .,
I had already processed a lot through therapy but I still had some limiting self beliefs which were annoying to me , mainly based on fear and anxiety , I knew I have good things to come and great things to offer but it was only me sabotaging myself and I didn’t want to waste anymore precious time .
So a year later I decided it was the right time and thing for me .
I realised also even though I had done a lot of work mentally and let go of a lot of issues , my body still held a lot of the toxins from my negative emotions so it was also about teaching my body to let go , in doing so my joints especially my knees which have plagued me for years feel amazing now , that was also the help of Kambo , Sweat Lodge , Rapé , Sananga and San Pedro which are all part of the healing process .
I promised myself to do everything and trust the process , the only hurdle was to trust in myself which I eventually found by listening to Pacco who I have tremendous respect for .
I truly loved every ceremony he did , it made it even more special of how much passion he had in his work and also the love and passion he had for us to help us heal
. He always put a smile on our faces to .
We had a gift from Chrissy which was Attunement for Reiki so we can learn to heal ourselves , it was exactly what I needed , everything I believed in about how we make ourselves ill and how we can heal ourselves is in Reiki in my view and is also a valuable tool.
Chrissy did Reiki on me and everything she picked up on with me was spot on , I was amazed.
I also have tremendous respect for her .
We had a lot of fun there to , really so much fun , it can be as light hearted as you want it , , the people I met I connected with and I feel I have made lifelong friends , everyone that was there is in my heart.
I was worried after the retreat that I would go back to my normal self , but I didn’t , I step into my own power now , I indulge in the present and set goals and intentions for the future , the past is now only an observation .
I feel blessed and truly grateful for the love and support I received .
They are wonderful family and i will feel part of it to. x
Such a warm and caring atmosphere that strongly focuses on healing. Both Paco & Chrissy are so giving and are able to this a great place to transform yourself into a better you. From suggesting/providing a better diet, offering ways to seek a better mindstate and self-care techniques, they can help anyone that’s wanting to work on themself. I look forward to coming back in the future.
One of the best and most important experiences of my life. I got everything I came here for and more. This was truly life changing; from the lessons I was given via the plant medicines, the atmosphere the hosts of the retreat created, to the lifetime bonds I cultivated with everyone. Wow.
Shamanic Vida felt like a second home. The set and setting was perfect, the food/diet plan had me well nourished and the small group size created a safe environment which meant proper care and attention for each participant. The atmosphere Chrissy and Pacco create in their home is inviting, warm and caring. They accept you for who you are, they don’t judge and are truly there to help in a variety of ways. They do one on one consultations in between ceremonies and take the time and space to get to know and understand you on a deeper level.
I went into my first ceremony as a newcomer and thus fairy anxious but these sensations were put to ease due to the inner calmness of Pacco (the Shaman) and Chrissy. They hold a gentle/loving space that encourages self-expression. Some ceremonies I wanted to sing, others I wanted to be silent…..Just be you and let if flow! In addition to the ceremonies there are various breathing exercises, meditations and a Temazcal Sweat Lodge that serve as such great compliments to the journey.
I came in search of guidance from Ayahuasca and San Pedro. I left with just that and many many lessons from Chrissy and Pacco themselves simply as a result of the people they are. It’s two months after my retreat and I feel better mentally and physically than I ever have. I was given a path for clearer direction in my life, a greater sense of inner trust and peace and the deeper knowledge that everything is as it should be.
Overall, my advice is to go into the experience with little expectations, accept whatever comes, open yourself up to where the medicine wants to take you and trust in yourself, the Shaman and the medicine. The diet is very helpful too! I took it serious and was most certainly rewarded. Ask if you have any questions! Chrissy and Pacco have a system in place but are flexible in their approach and will make adjustments to your individual needs.
I know it can be difficult choosing which path to take when making a decision like this (especially if it’s your first time) so feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions:
I can’t speak highly enough of the experience that I had at Shamanic Vida, and our shamn & host, Pacco and Chrissy. i went in a group of 3 and we were picked up in the centre of Cusco. The whole experience was mind opening, heart warming and fantastically humbling. I really enjoyed the smaller, intimate groups that i shared the experience with, as well as the personal, daily communication with the shaman after every ceremony. Could not fault the whole plant healing journey here.
Wow, what a beautiful and loving experience. Right from the get go I knew these guys were going to be family. My initial contact was Chrissy via email. She answered all of my queries very quickly and there were a few 🙂 The booking process was simple and I felt at ease. They had a driver pick me up from Pisac which is a town near by. I was met with open arms by Chrissy and her little baby Liana. We were shown to our rooms and given time to introduce ourselves and settle in. Pacco (shaman) introduced himself and gave us all a hug you could feel the love. They really know how to settle any nerves you have. I stayed for the 11 day retreat and I did not want to leave, it felt like home to me. The ceremonies/meditations were beautifully guided and they were both there to help you when needed. Pacco and Chrissy are always around if you need to chat and always give you the time of day if you need it. Consultations are given after every ayahuasca ceremony to help you process the journey. Meals are based on the ayahuasca diet and give you enough sustenance to endure what the day brings. The place is set in the sacred valley with a river close by. Accommodations are basic and you have everything you need. I have been home two weeks now and have had a few questions regarding my integration Chrissy and Pacco have both answered them without delay which has helped me immensely. If you want a retreat where you actually see and can talk to your shaman on a daily basis and you want people that sincerely care about your health and well-being then Shamanic Vida is the place to go to. I am heading back in 6months time and am taking my son that’s how much I trust them 🙂
Words can’t express how I feel during the experience, totally beyond my expectations. We did the 6 day retreat last September, a driver picked us up from meeting place in Cusco centre then travelled to the centre for about an hour. The location is nice and peaceful, we were greeted warmly by Pacco and Crissy. Place felt immediately like home, the place is surrounded by mountains and there’s a river nearby. Basic accommodation, giving you all the time for relaxation, reflections, yoga, mediation and healing. There’s books and musical instruments you can use. This is my first time and I did 3 Ahayuasca, Rapé, Waychuma, Reiki, yoga. My last day with Ahayuasca was so magical and it opened my mind, Paco’s guidance as Shaman really helped in my journey. In every plant medicine we take, there’s a follow up talk with Pacco and Crissy about the experience which i find very helpful and reassuring. They treated us like family. Shamanic Vida is very highly recommended!
Great retreat in the Sacred Valley. I did the 6 day retreat and was able to have a lot of new experiences and ceremonies. As a solo traveller I didn’t know anyone there but I felt totally safe the whole and really felt that they knew what they were doing. Pacco (the shaman) and Chrissy were amazing and I really felt like they wanted to help everyone get what they needed out of the ayahuasca. Also their baby daughter is very cute and they have a unique looking dog (friendly). I had a great experience here and would recommend it to everyone else!
My experience with Paco and Chrissy was beautiful in each stage that I shared with them, I started volunteering about two weeks before my ayahuasca experience. They received me in a spectacular and very loving way, being always attentive to the needs as I felt. They approached the treatment always with a lot of respect, attention and love. In turn, the location in the sacred valley is a beautiful place, with a very special energy and incredible landscapes.
When I had the opportunity to share with them the ceremony of Ayahuasca, an experience that was wonderful. I felt very calm since both Paco and Chrissy told me that I was going to be all right, and that was true. I recommend this place fully, mainly because they take the task they perform with a lot of love and respect. They are aware and prioritize the fact that what they do helps people so much, either to know themselves or to release some ties.
I waited for a month to write this review because I wanted to see how the experience translated into positive change. I have spent over a decade attending ‘retreats’ all over the world seeking to be ‘fixed’. Never have I ever come so close after spending 6 days with Shamanic Vida. Paco and Chrissy are true healers so interested and aware of your needs. Even while working with someone like myself who has difficulty expressing anything, I felt able to open myself completely. The space they hold makes you feel so safe and supported. The difficulties I experienced prior to coming have not disappeared nor will they ever but the way I cope and feel every day is so different, no longer resisting but accepting of the energies and circumstances around me. I will return to Shamanic Vida whenever possible. I feel so blessed to have found them and to have them in my life.
I have no words enought to thank you Pacco and Chrissy. They are absolutly beautiful souls and a wonderful people; in constant learning and preparing. I joined twice Ayahuasca ceremonies in Shamanic Vida this year, first in march and the last one 4 days ago, i can say both were Perfect! i came with them since last year because of i had (yes, now it is past) problems with my knees (rheumatoid arthritis). Pacco provided me 3 Kambo ceremonies, rapé and temazcal and all his love and knowledge to help me and guide me in this life. Everytime i visit them dont want to leave, and that is a thing that also feel and felt all people/friends/relatives that i introduce(d) them…You can feel the plants/and medicine throught them, it is so powerfull and magical, exactly how the Universe works, right?
In spite my first close to sacred plants was in 2016, it is just with Pacco and Chrissy that i really found more that i could imagine, i have never felt scared, they always take care ourself, you feel safe and calm to prepear yoursef before during and after each ceremony. I am glad to met them, besides their beautiful Liana daugther and “Mini” the lovely peruvian hairless dog. They are the family you should met
Near Perfect. An amazing experience for sure and hard-won.
What you put in is definitely what you get out. Chrissy has a hard edge
approach with the dieta and fasting but if you prepare and
can get through the no food followed by the ‘bananas only stage,’ and have focused your intentions for the retreat, then the medicine will lead you to some amazing places. It would be impossible not to experience a certain amount of internal growth in this serene setting and supportive atmosphere.
And while Pacco is a young Shaman (6 years experience) his natural ease, generosity, and musicianship sets the tone for self-growth. And in the years to come as he matures out of the wiles of being a 28 y/o I’m sure an even greater Shaman will emerge with a lot of wisdom to impart.
This was my first time to Peru (it is a beautifully charming and spiritual place) and my first experience with Mama Ayahuasca and other sacred plant healers…or anything even remotely close! I had never dabbled with any recreational drugs or healing medicines of this kind before. But following a conversation with a close friend, I suddenly felt a real, heartfelt calling to be open to the healing power of these plant medicines and, though it was one of the most challenging things I’ve done, I am incredibly happy that I followed my instinct.
I was there for 11 days but even the 6 days is incredibly intense. It is not a magical cure that will wash over you as you lounge back – it’s work and it’s tough! You are a warrior out there. This is not to put you off at all – because with this bravery, openness, flow, discipline, respect, you allow yourself the opportunity to heal and grow profoundly, however subtle.
As Angel said below (just read his review) – we crossed paths on our retreats for his 6 days and he was a truly beautiful soul to share the start of my experience with – though it can be for some people, it’s not always huge, magical transformations. For me, it was the same… I was aware of healing taking place and know in my heart that small shifts have happened… but time will reveal how this all unfolds for me.
The journey can be quite overwhelming – certainly for me on the 11-day retreat, more people came and went who weren’t always quite of the same mindset in terms of vulnerability and healing which I realise affected my ‘letting go’ a little. I felt much more at peace when just with the people who were there with similar intentions. I shared my last few days with one other person who had been with me from the start and a new cohort of 5 retreatees and again they were all fantastic – gentle, supportive, there with similar motivation. I could have stayed longer with this group for sure. Something I didn’t think I’d be saying halfway through when spending yet another ceremony vomiting!
Yeps, this is a very common symptom of the plant medicines – to purge, to clear… But everyone reacts differently – including yourself from one ceremony to another – so, hard though it is, try not to have expectation. Paco will repeat this time and time again! And rest assured, should it be uncomfortable, that it passes… and healing is taking place… all is good…
Chrissy and Paco are wonderful and I speak so highly of them. Chrissy is incredibly professional – she is pragmatic and has things running smoothly and efficiently – and she is also a wonderful listener who gives you time, really hears you and takes on board exactly what you’re saying. She is helpful and accommodating, cares about the process and your stay there, and as a Reiki master and spiritual reader, is also very intuitive, connected and a beautiful healer herself.
Paco is a genuinely incredible shaman… so connected, inspiring and wise, and such a joyous bundle of warmth, love and playfulness! 🙂 Like Chrissy, he is a fabulous and generous listener and is wonderfully patient. He is an approachable, experienced and enlightened teacher and leads the ceremonies emanating his beautiful spirituality, gratitude and love for life, this Universe and Mother Earth – including, of course, the utmost respect he has for the sacred healing plants he works so gently with. I could not have wished for a better, more knowledgeable, more loving shaman to guide me and I know I’m not alone in this thinking!
Paco and Chrissy are truly authentic in what they do, care deeply about your journey and, despite the challenges you may face along the way, I can almost guarantee they’ll make you smile 🙂
You are in safe and caring hands, and hearts… and if unsure of anything, just ask! Go with an open mind and heart…and see how your journey unfolds… I would not hesitate to recommend Shamanic Vida. Plus they have Minnie the Inca dog and a wee pup they saved to open your hearts even further! Enjoy… With love and respect 🙂 xxx
If you’re reading this, and you can’t make a choice, stop overthinking your (already made) decision to change your life and take a leap of faith — not in the universe,
not in your belief system, but in yourself to land on your feet and spring roots like a tree; faith to not only grow, but to flourish in whatever reality you choose. Life is waiting for you.
What Shamanic Vida offered me was not a magical solution to my perceived problems, but a reality check into what I created and nurtured. Nothing here was given but the free will to be present in and accountable for your life’s path, along with the encouragement of having compassion for yourself. If you are ready to be humbled, and to laugh and cry and release (should you choose it), and if you are prepared to dance through light and shadow, then this community will receive you with open arms. I am incredibly grateful for the noble work they do, and when you depart, hopefully your heart will be ready to continue that work and be open too.
Also know that Ayahuasca is waiting for you wherever and however you choose to find her. So all you need is trust in yourself to go. A kind, and hilarious, shaman once told me: “Everything is perfect.” And everything was. Go meet him! (And Chrissy too! She’s an AMAZING healer in her own right.)
I highly recommend Shamanic Vida to anyone looking for a retreat centre in Peru. The setting is perfectly located not far from Cusco city, nestled in the Sacred Valley and surrounded by beautiful mountain landscapes and a river. The accommodations are simple, but comfortable and everything you need is provided.
I did the 6-day retreat (plus Machu Picchu) and experienced the healing benefits of 3 Ayahuasca ceremonies, 1 Kambo, 1 San Pedro, Sweat lodge, Reiki, and yoga and meditation.
Pacco and Chrissy are kind and loving healers. I felt safe and had complete trust in their abilities with these powerful medicines. The schedule was intense but also felt well-paced and that there was lots of personal time to relax, reflect, and prepare for the next ceremony.
This was my first experience with these plant medicines and I went through all of the emotional and physical ups and downs, but at the end I felt strong, powerful and determined. And I didn’t want to leave! Shamanic Vida felt like home. I feel forever connected to Pacco and Chrissy and cannot wait to return one day to continue my personal healing journey.
Shamanic Vida is an amazing special place. Settled in a the middle of the beautiful Inca trail, your surrounded by stunning mountains and next to a gorgeous river. This place instantly feels like home. For my first ayahuasca experience, I wanted to make sure I was going to be taken care. Shamanic Vida did not disappoint. Paco and Chrissy provide the perfect setting, accommodations, and guidance for you ceremonies. I would highly recommend Shamanic Vida for anyone wanting to try ayahuasca for their first time, or for the anyone who is familiar with the medicine. I can’t wait to go back.
Shamanic Vida: the place I felt home again after travelling for a while. Good people, good vibes and good sounds. With an intens and variated program you will be guided trough your treatment and helped whenever needed so you can relax and feel at place. I will definitely come back one day. Pachamama!
Not “Near-Perfect”. Just, perfect. Travelling to South America for the first time, and never having attended a retreat such as this before, my heart was full of trepidation in anticipation of where I was going and what I was doing. I felt strongly drawn to this retreat centre though, and to Pacco and Chrissy. And my instincts were right. I felt a great connection to both Chrissy and Pacco, and a great trust for them immediately, and this only grew as I was guided through my three Ayahuasca ceremonies. I feel that they both gave me everything that I needed at exactly the time I needed it, as did Mother Ayahuasca, and the other medicines, ceremonies and lessons that were integrated into the experience. I could not have felt more safe and cared for during my time there. I was with a brilliant group of beautiful people, the surrounding scenery is breath-taking, and the accommodation comfy and ideally suited to the experience. The food (once the fasts were broken) was amazing, and I felt like I was tasting things for the first time again. I feel much less fearful now, and more peaceful. I am continuing with a vegan diet, my taste buds refreshed, as are my other senses, I hope to continue living in this clearer, more focused mind, body and soul that was realised through the cleansing I experienced with Shamanic Vida. I really can not imagine using these plant medicines under the guidance of any other shaman, such is the trust, respect and love I feel for Pacco and Chrissy, and I know that I will return to continue my journey with them and with Mother Ayahuasca. Thank you Pachamama.
I recently returned from my 6 day stay at Shamanic Vida. I had never been to Peru before and I was very nervous once my plane landed. However as soon as I arrived to the center and met Chrissy and Paco all that went away. Their warm and loving energy just beamed out from them and made me feel instantly comfortable. The place is so cozy and has the most breath taking views. I took so many pictures but the pictures just can not capture the intense beautiful nature that surrounds the retreat center. There is a short walk to a town and an even shorter walk to a super cute restaurant with WiFi. The rooms were very clean and well kept, and the beds were fairly comfortable. I felt like I had the comforts of home and my own space during my stay. I never felt unsafe or uncared for at all while I was there.
Now let me tell you about the ceremonies. During my stay I participated in 2 Ayahuasca Ceremonies and 1 San Pedro Ceremony. The Ayahuasca ceremonies where not what I expected, they were so much more beautiful than expected. My 1st Aya ceremony there was mostly getting reacquainted with the medicine. However my 2nd ceremony was so incredibly transformative. It was quick and I actually got to see Paco’s magic at work. I was able to sit up and watch what an amazing Shaman he is. I was in awe! Everything that he does to prepare for an Icaro is like that of a Shaman who has been doing this for 50 years. Simply Amazing!! The SP ceremony was wonderful and beautiful. We went on a walk and sat by the nearby river and Paco played Guitar and Flute and we all just hung out and enjoyed each other company. It was the perfect addition to all the inner work that was happening during the Aya Ceremonies. After each ceremony we had an short (or long) meeting with Chrissy and Paco to integrate our experience. They would have spent an hour or more with each person if they needed it. The love and care they put into each person to help them with their experience is just beautiful!
My life has forever been changed by my stay at Shamanic Vida! I feel that I have made lifelong friendships with Paco and Chrissy and will definitely return to their center again some day (hopefully soon)! I will be recommending this center to anyone and everyone I come across that is interested in participating in Ceremonies in The Sacred Valley of Cusco!
I spent two months searching the place I should go to. I am glad that I ended up with Shamanic Vida retreat center. The place is wonderful and very peaceful. But what makes this place even more special is the people. Chrissy and Pacco were so helpful and gave a lot of care and kindness for every single person there.
I was happy to be there and met new people.
Thank you, Chrissy and Pacco
Last month I did a workaway at Shamanic Vida Center and I ended up doing ayahuasca. I saw how Pacco and Chrissy were working with the medicine and I felt really safe in their hands. They have an beautiful awarenes full with love. I could also observe how the people on the retreat were healing through ayahuasca, and how they were guided by Chrissy and Pacco. After two weeks of working with them I got the call to do an ayahuasca ceremony. This was an amazing and beautiful experience. The talk with Pacco and Chrissy before and after the ceremony were very helpful to put my experience in perspective.
I had a wonderful time at Shamanic Vida. The venue is lovely. The scenery is beautiful and the people are amazing. I had a good time at the 6-day retreat because I was able to get the detoxing and spiritual cleanse I needed through various forms if healing modalities such as ayahuasca, reiki, temezcal (sweat lodge), san pedro and meditation. It was wonderful because all the resources were there. The place was comfortable and I shared a room with one person. Water bottles were provided. I ended up sleeping in the teepee after each ceremony anyway under the rain and with the sounds of crickets. I woke up to birds chirping and humming birds flying. The place has a balanced energy and I loved that Pacco, the shaman, is so down to earth like the medicine. He was a great leader through ceremonies and preparing food. Chrissy was also very prompt with my questions about the ceremony. I was really hesitant about the whole thing, but after getting to know them, I felt I could trust them. They were very patient with me. I always imagined going to an older shaman, but Pacco was a great fit for me because he has the passion of an artist and this allowed me to fly and spread my wings. He was very attentive and always came to see how I was doing. Thank you Pacco, Chrissy and all at the center for being a highlight of my Peru trip.
I am writing this review from the perspective of someone who has taken ayahuasca for the first time, and as such have no basis for comparison as to what this experience would be like at a different retreat center. But here are some of the reasons why I decided to go with Shamanic Vida, what the experience was like, and why I would choose to journey deeper into the medicine with Pacco and Chrissy:
Choosing a retreat to experience your first journey into ayahuasca is not a light decision to make. I literally read almost every review for every place on both retreat guru and aya advisors before deciding to go with Shamanic Vida. All the positive reviews, a strong recommendation from a friend who had previously taken the medicine with them, and a personal phone call with Chrissy wherein she addressed all of my concerns, solidified my decision to go with Shamanic Vida. I knew that I was going to be in a safe space under the guidance of experienced and compassionate healers.
And wow… all I can say is what a profound, wonderful, amazing, and beautiful life-changing experience this was! Shamanic Vida far exceeded all my expectations. I had come to Shamanic Vida as a last resort after going through a year of depression, feelings of life lacking meaning and purpose, and just a lot of sadness and discontent (largely due to a series of major life events in 2017). Pacco and Chrissy showed me so much kindness, care, and compassion throughout the journey. They helped me to feel safe during the ceremonies, especially on a night when I was having a difficult experience. Pacco’s icaros helped guide me through the journey. They are so powerful (they are on YouTube and Facebook) and even now I stalk their videos just to listen because it gives me so much peace and literally pulls at my heart strings.
After the ceremonies, we had one on one consultations which helped me to internalize and process my realizations. I also got to experience other healing medicines like San Pedro, rape, and kambo, as well as a temazcal ceremony. It’s amazing how all of these things complement each other! The holistic approach in which the retreat was structured and the way everything was so well integrated, contributed a lot to my healing experience. This review barely scratches the surface… there are other things too… the yoga classes, being surrounded by nature, Minnie (she is such a sweet and loving creature), the delicious food… everything! They’ve created such a safe and beautiful space for people who wish to journey into ayahuasca or explore other healing medicines that I would choose Shamanic Vida again, should I ever feel compelled to journey deeper and find myself in Peru.
– It’s ok to have a list of intentions, but what I’ve discovered is that oftentimes the medicine will give you what you need and not necessarily what you ask for
– If you are struggling with something internally or had a tough experience, take advantage of the one on one sessions with Pacco and Chrissy as they will really help internalize the learnings you get with the medicine
– I think the healing doesn’t end when you leave the retreat center, I am constantly discovering new things about myself and having moments of insight and revelation, it’s good to know that I can contact Pacco and Chrissy at any time, especially when integration back into daily life can be difficult
– Also, while its tempting to ask about what others experienced and what their vision looked like, remember that yours will bound to be unique, just as you are unique…so be open to expecting the unexpected!

Where do I start… Shamanic Vida, what a place! Since the moment I walked in I felt so good, so peacefull surrrounded by the beautifull nature of the Sacred Valley and the lovely beings Chrissy and Paco are. And this was important for me. I was planning to do Ayahuasca but only when it felt right. This was very important to me as I have epilepsy and there is not much known about the risk of taking Ayahuasca while having epilepsy. I could not have imagined a place better then Shamanic Vida to go through this process. Paco guided me from day one towards the Ayahuasca ceremony. We slowly broke down my epilepsy medicine intake as you are not suppose to have chemicals in your body while taking Ayahuasca, and he supported me with alternatives to balance it out. So much attention to detail and love received, amazing. Then with the ceremony itself all the right care and precautions were taken, as we would not know what would happen without epilepsy medicine under influence of Ayahuasca. I felt so taken care of, they really were there for me 100%. And everything went well. So well that now, 4 months later, I am still off my epilepsy medicine. A miracle? I don’t know, I still have to pass by the hospital to see how the situation is… I believe more that Paco, Chrissy and Ayahuasca teached me how to connect better with my body and provided the right alternative care necessary in order to keep me away from ceasures without taking meds. I can’t describe how gratefull I am for this amazing process I went through and still are in. Thankful for all the love received from Paco, Chrissy and other people around and looking forward to come back one day. Hopefully, still without epilepsy medicine and feeling better then ever before. I will never forget you guys and mother Ayahuasca, one love…
I just spent 11 incredible days learning and growing at Shamanic Vida.
I arrived with no experience in plant healing. I saw other reviews and decided Shamanic Vida was the place I wanted to make this journey. And it was honestly the best decision I have ever made. I cannot say enough positive things about both Pacco and Chrissy, they are truly amazing people that not only help you grow and experience this wonderful medicine but make you feel so at home and comfortable during the process.
Those 11 days were so transformative – mind, body and soul have never felt so clear and alive. Experiencing San Pedro, Ayahuasca and Kambo have truly made an impact on my life and have me more positive for the future.
If you’re looking for a retreat this is honestly the place. You will have an amazing experience and I personally can’t wait to go back.
I had a fantastic and eye opening time at Shamanic Vida. Chrissy and Pacco were fantastic, the food was good and the location was great! I felt safe and well taken care of at all times through my first ever ayahuasca journey and am recommending it to my friends.
Shamanic Vida has brought much cleansing and healing to my life, from a cellular level to a spirit level and every inch in-between and every meter beyond. Pacco is an amazing Shaman with much experience, holding much wisdom; I recommend his guidance to anyone who wishes to transform and, or expand themselves in a deeper sense. Along side Pacco, Chrissy was also their to bring her balanced energy; I feel the two hold a unique space for all kinds of healing because of their bond. Although we are all repairing from different life experiences, Pacco and Chrissy are there to bring clarity, guidance, understanding and insight on the beautiful and sometimes confusing inner journey we get to witness. My time here, I drank Ayahuasca in four ceremonies, San Pedro (Huachuma) once and took Rapé around five times. All of the ceremonies were greeted with the humbleness and confidence of the Shaman (Pacco), which brought a sense of trust and gratefulness. Pacco works with the plant spirit(s), his grace and essence held the utmost scared space, a place that was filled with the teachings of the land and all that is here. When I was in need of guidance during ceremony Pacco had this sense of knowing, divine timing we will call it, he would be there when I needed it, to make sure I was okay, he let me know that I was not alone, which had a profound impact on my experiences. Pacco’s ethics towards his guests is humbling; he did not tell me how to heal, how to think, or force any belief on me, he just made it aware (nonverbally) that I as a human-being am full of many of my own truths and much more that is yet to be unveiled, he was there and able to be a guide during the deep healing process. Not only awareness was brought, I gained this humbleness and confidence that went hand in hand, towards myself and expanding outward creating a harmonious shift in relationships I have been wanting/needing to mend. I left Shamanic Vida about a week ago today, and already I am noticing shifts in my actions, words and thoughts. I could not express in words the gratefulness I have towards Pacco and Chrissy for hosting the most life altering experiences I have ever had, I am so thankful to have had the honor of meeting the two, as well as the other wonderful, kindhearted people I have met while staying at this retreat, many bonds were formed with people from all over the world. While at this retreat I learned many self-truths, I gained numerous skills that would not have been available to me otherwise, and I worked with the ayahuasca overcoming many challenges that at the time seemed almost impossible or maybe improbable. I will be visiting again in the not so distant future.
Thank you, thank you,
I have total trust in Paco and Chrissy and felt like I was in excellent hands. This aspect of trust is so important because the medicine and the ceremony is powerful and there cannot be any doubt about the intentions of the shamans and facilitators. Staying here was a magical experience; the atmosphere is totally serene and chill. I would highly recommend Shamanic Vida to anyone who is interested in shamanic healing. My own experience was profound and I was beamed into the spirit world. Now I am integrating the experience which is still pretty fresh. I am sleeping much better at night and spiritually I feel as if I am now going through a gradual, but steady waking up progress.
I just spent 11 incredible days learning, growing, connecting and awakening at Shamanic Vida—it was the most life-invigorating thing I’ve ever done. I feel reborn, full of love and light, and enthusiastic beyond belief!
I arrived with little experience in master plant healing—just one Ayahuasca ceremony. I was drawn to Shamanic Vida because of wonderful reviews, their holistic approach to healing and the opportunity to experience a variety of plant medicines and meditation/healing techniques (ie. Rapé, San Pedro, Kambo, & Yopo.) The experience was more than I could have ever hoped for! Chrissy, and the shaman, Pacco, have created an incredibly nurturing environment for healing. I immediately felt at home, and by the end, part of the tribe, which is imperative because this type of therapy can be very challenging, mentally and physically.
This was the most transformative week of my life—mentally, physically and spiritually. I realized the tremendous capacity I have to bring love and light into this world and I am enthusiastic to put this inspired energy into my renewed life back home. My mind is clearer than ever, my confidence has never been stronger, and I have a sense of purpose and fearlessness that I’ve never felt before. I am incredibly grateful for all of the pleasant surprises as well: my body is much leaner and energetic, I feel an unexpected aversion to alcohol and unhealthy foods, and I am eager to learn just about everything—something I haven’t felt since I was a child.
I am incredibly grateful for Chrissy and Pacco and look forward to coming back for more healing soon!
I did the 6 day retreat at Shamanic and it was amazing. Chrissy and Paco are beyond amazing people and truly care so much about helping others on their journeys. They are intuitive and pay attention to what each person needs. The medicine they gave me was very effective and I can honestly say I will never forget it. I got everything out of it I had hoped for and more and I hope what I have learned stays with me forever. A friend of mine went after I did and had an equally positive experience. So healing. Highly reccomend Shamanic to any and everyone interested and I hope I’m able to attend another ceremony with these two someday.
I recomend Shamanic Vida 100 % i had great experience with the ayahuasca retreats, and with Pacco, who made the ceremony, he all the ceremony take care about people, and his place is excelent, he is a great person, and humble human!!!! and not only Ayahuasca all medicine that he works are great!!
I would strongly recommend Shamanic Vida if you would like to do a ayahuasca retreat. I just felt so welcomed immediately when I reached Pacos and Chrissys place. The four days I spent there were truly wonderful and changed my life in so many ways. I now know which guidlines I should continue follow in my life thanks to the stay at Shamanic Vida. Paco is such a professional and caring shaman to whom I can thank in so many ways for the beautiful trip I had. Truly one of the greatest moments in my life. Thanks a lot, Paco and Chrissy for your warm support and retreat.
I experienced the healing power of ayahuasca and san pedro for the first time at Shamanic vida partecipating first to a six days retreat. The experience was so illuminating and inspiring that after a week I went back for other three days. Pacco and Chrissy are simply great guys, full of love and with a deep knowledge of plant medicines and shamanic traditions. They are very supportive all the time. I learnt a lot during my staying at Shamanic Vida not only with the ayahuasca but also by sharing those days with them!!!
There are 2 very good reasons SV has perfect 5 star reviews and that’s Chrissy and Pacco. It’s rare to meet a couple so young with such vast life experience, depth of knowledge in their fields and dedication to their purpose. They are true healers, better equipped than any medical doctor to cure both physical and mental pains.
Few, if any, retreats offer the range of natural treatments available at SV; aya, rapèy, San pedro, kambo, temazcal, reiki attunement(!!) and many many more, all adapted to your personal requirements and delivered with expert care and guidance. They literally provide everything you could possibly need, just bring yourself, some warm clothes, toiletries and an open mind. Chrissy and Pacco will take care of the rest.
I came to them 18 months after a bad accident with broken ribs I had been told would never heal, in a week they’d proved western doctors wrong and my physical and mental pains were all but gone. I was so impressed with the the results I decided extended my stay 4 more days and wished I could’ve stayed longer, I will be back one day though 🙂
If you’re looking for a simple, boutique retreat where you will be treated as an individual with love, compassion and humour by genuine expert healers then look no further. I cannot recommend SV highly enough and have endless love and gratitude for the life changing gifts C+P gave me.
I just finished my retreat of six days today, it was exactly the thing I needed. Thank you guys so much for making this a life changing point for me. So many of the questions I had were answered by mother ayahuasca and the san pedro. How can I put this experience into words? Healing, self-realization, universal consciousness, love, caring, understanding, release, truth, cleaning, higher purpose, intuitive, positive. growth, relaxing… There’s more but what it comes down to is they helped me where I did not think I needed help or growth. I was liberated and educated. Going home with a confidence that I can do what I need to. Everyone in my family and friends will hear about my peru trip and how they need to come visit you guys. Muchas gracias!!
If you are looking for something in the universe bigger than yourself and people who do heartfelt work. Maybe you have recently felt a soul loss and are searching, go to Shamanic Vida.
I came to Peru having been through the tough times in the past year. The ceremonies are so beautiful, the price was resonable and after the first two ceremonies I could of left and felt satisfied for what I paid them. But then the third medicine and san pedro ceremonies gave the integration and peace I needed to feel in my life. The accomodations were nice and I was fortunate to share a room with a friendly young woman who was also interested in plant medicines and curing her own traumas. Everyone at the retreat was like minded and friendly, good people. There are mountains surrounding the center and it is a very peaceful small peruvian village to look out on. The food preparation was amazing. I enjoyed the healthy diet. Chrissy gave me reiki inbetween one of the sessions to help further release negative emotions and I think it helped move things along. Going on the hike around the lake was beautiful. Not to forget the sweat tent we did was highly cleansing.
You can tell they put their hearts into what they are doing there. I really value this and will continue to tell others about the work they are doing, meanwhile I am integrating all of the lessons into my life.
I had been to retreats in iquitos and the sacred valley before to drink ayahuasca, The reason I went to shaminc vida this december is I was interested in taking ayahuasca again because i felt my other trips to be lacking the profound change ayahuasca brings that i have heard so much about, but never experienced. Second reason was that i was interested in trying san pedro and have heard from people that it is a good first step to take san pedro and then take ayahuasca. When i got to the airport it was nice they picked me up and brought me straight to the center because my plane was delayed. The place was really humble and defidently a peruvian house in the valley. I was comfortable and at peace, I knew I would be taken care of. the first night we did the cleanse and a small meditation ceremony. Here I tried the strongest rapey I have ever had, it was horribly shocking but good if that makes any sense. It helped me adjust myself to the altitude too. The next day I was a little tired for fasting so for the most part I spent time drinking tea and relaxing, the cleanse did make me dehydrated. in the first ceremony i thought that wow that dosis is not enough for me i have taken ayahuasca before and i was suprised when i started to feel the effects coming on. It was a slow come on and that was good for me, i have had panic attacks before when the ayahuasca was too much. So i feel like i actually had the perfect dose where i learned and remember and did not go into panic at all. i cried liberated my emotions. The icaros were beautiful and I felt safe like i was with my mother and she was caring for me. So then i knew i was in the rigfht place and had made the best decision coming here my second aya ceremony was also cleansing and liberating. What i did not know was how impactful my san pedro would be. This feeling of being connected to the entire world to every blade of grass to every leaf on the trees gave me this divine feeling i have never felt before. I needed this I needeed to know it was all bigger than i could have ever imagined. It was perfect, chrissy even gave me a little to take as a micro dosis on the rest of my south america trip and it was stupendous. I really connected to this entheogen and I think i would like to have more ceremonies with it thrgouhout my life. So my last aya ceremony, I felt so prepared for to meet the mother again and say so long for a long time. And i did, I feel like the teaching that i have i can take with me and use for a long time like chrissy was explaining that once you take the spirit of the plant you can call on it in the meditiations how you want to and that it stays working with you. I think i have now ingested enough of the plants to call them when i need them. It has been so real and so amazing, I would not change my experience for the world. Much love and mahalo!
I learned so much on this trip. About myself, plants, their spirits, my strength, my weakness, the past, the future, the present, meditation and foods. More people need to go do retreats like this and the world would be a better place. My head is filled with so much new knowledge in a good way in a positive way I think I can maybe start to help my friends and family heal too. Thanks to you all I am looking inside and practiing my teachings on this new level, i recommend anyone interested to go to shamanic vida.
This trip has been a major turning point for changing my negative mental programming. I would like to thank chrissy and paco for facilitating these retreats. The remarkable thing for me was that my unexpected break through was on my san pedro journey. This highly enhanced my last ayahuasca ceremony and really closed everything off by the end of my six day retreat. The lake we went to gave off ancient healing energies and really aided me to understanding and appreciating the beauty of life. I am grateful for chrissy guiding that ceremony and she knows the spirit of the san pedro cactus well and was highly intuitive to our group and how we were feeling and what we needed, whether is was more music, chanting, regular water, shade or her positive energy.
I would do this trip over and over again if I could, but I do not need to. I feel healed. That is what I came for. The place was good, the mountains around it were humbling. It was a humbling experience and one I will never forget. It will have a positive impact on my life for a long time.
This retreat has made a massive impact on my life. I have never felt better and like I am taking charge of my life with direction. It has been about a month since I went and the effects are still with me. My life is on track again. I was in the military and really needed this for my ptsd. I don’t feel lost anymore and I brought back a bunch of new skills I am teaching to my brothers. Thanks Pavo for being understanding and trust worthy. I appreciate the whole well roundedness of this retreat.
The experience was more than I could of hoped for. I have been waiting to go for three years and finally worked up the courage recently. Pako is a gifted shaman and his counsel during difficult times was reassuring. The staff made sure we were cared for and comfortable the entire time. I really felt safe and that was important to me. Thinking of the songs they sang warms my heart and I am just grateful for my time there.
I work in allopathic medicine, but have come to a stand still with the treatment available to me. The months before I coming I consulted with my doctor and Chrissy about getting off of my meds to take ayahuasca. I was grateful to communicate with her and she really understood the process.
After suffering for some years from depression and I knew I have to do something, life was becoming less and less joyous. The benefits I have recieved from this treatment I do not think I could of gotten anywhere else. Honestly, even in five years of therapy, I doubt I could feel this good. Now I feel like I have the calm and power to go where I need to in the next big steps I am taking in life and attract positive people because I am positive.
My friend recommended I come here and I am so glad they did, I am passing on this recommendation to find time to go to peru and see shamanic vida for yourself, your spirit will thank you!
Very good vibes. My ceremonies were beautiful. I did a san pedro vision quest with the shaman and an ayahuasca ceremony. The vision quest was unbelievable, I could of stopped there I felt at such peace and in total harmony with the world around me. It was set up so wonderfully, the herbs, aromas, the instruments, the guide, they know the process well of the passes our spirits go through on our way to speak with the spirits of gaia on san p. This set up kept the energy flowing with positivity and a respect for nature/earth. I really felt healing after this session and smiled ear to ear the whole day.
Then I took the ayahuasca. I went into the aya ceremony with full confidence and let the dmt take me where it was going to. The experience in itself is not explainable in one review. What I can say is how cared for and safe I felt. The icaros the shaman sang reminded me I was loved, safe and that mother aya is here with us all the time. It ended and I felt an overwhelming sense of peace and gratitude for this medicine. The work they are doing is distingushed in a wonderful way.
The center is nice and simple. Comfortable rooms interesting architecture. Bring good clothes for cold weather, I forgot but one of the staff gave me a big llama sweater to wear.
I was brought along this trip by a friend who lives there in Peru. He told me he heard good things and so we went. When they asked me to write a review I thought of course. It was a perfect experience. The medicine they use and the way they did the ceremony all gave the very comfortable feeling of home. Like being with people you know for a long time. The place of the retreat was simple and nice. It is a beautiful natural location and plenty of room to walk around with the eucalyptus trees and meditate. In the ceremonies the music and singing, wow it is amazing. You feel it in your body and this is part of the healing. I think it gave me a very pleasurable journey listening to this music. If you think maybe like me, that I am not sure if I need healing. When you finish the retreat you know you did. I think my life is better for knowing this medicine and if you do need healing these are the healers here in Peru. Good journeying friends.
Having been to asia to meet the shamans of the Ulaanbaatar Mongolia, I thought I could never have a better more authentic experience with shamans. I have recently completed the retreats for 6 days of ayahuasca in cusco Peru with this excellent group. It is to say I could not be happier with the outcome. When I planned this visit I wanted to be with knowledgeable guides. It does not matter to me their age, old or young, male or female, as long as the shamans gave the right type of ceremony energetically. To explain the true feeling of the retreat is to say the chaman pako does work with other worlds and dimensions and in their ceremonies as well. This level of life-soul force is unique to find. I am pleased to have been apart of this group we had the most amazing time. Of course, I am feeling very good and I know I will continue to. These are the people you must go to see in Peru.
My time at Shamanic Vida was very well spent! Christine picked me up at the airport, she was very welcoming in a way that you hope for from someone who works with Ayahuasca. From the start, Pacco and Christine were very open about what to expect on my journey and addressing any concerns I had about the actual trip. The entire experience was incredibly relaxing and spiritually fulfilling, The retreat itself is idyllic and being somewhat within the jungle I felt close to nature and the spirit of the plant. I cannot thank Pacco and Christine enough for their guidance and for creating such a positive experience for me.
It really is a blessing and a gift that people and places like this exist in the world. I found this spiritual sanctuary online and after reading more about them and contacting them, everything else fell into place. The retreat was unbelievable my spirit was connecting the minute I got there. It certainly helped that the staff was so welcoming and hospitable. It was a foreign land, but the people made it feel like home. Being in such a sacred feeling place really gave me what I realize I was looking for and had traveled so far for. I will ask it is the therapy I needed for so many years my “soul” house was lacking spirituality. I was full to the brim with everything else overflowing but empty in that room. The meditations have given me quiet and it often buzzing mind. I am really glad I took the time to come down it was amazing to see the ancient inca architecture all around in the gigantic mountains. What a beautiful journey it has been I am aligned and refreshed, my outlook has never been better. Being back home I feel like I just want to share my new energy and knowledge with everyone and I don’t think I could’ve ever gotten to this point without going to Shamanic vita. If you are considering going here it is humble and spiritual and I highly recommend it.
It was such a pleasure for my brother and I to stay at the retreat surrounded by these special human beings. Thank you for all the work that you do. The experience was what I needed to regain my faith in the world. I would not change a thing, to be in the amazon, spending my days meditating, taking walks to the river and taking ayahuasca at night. My internal clock has been 100% reset as well as my spirit.
This is an affordable retreat, it fit our budget, yet we were completely comfortable with a nice room, food and swimming pool. I am forever grateful and will be telling our tribe members at home to come see you all 😉 Namaste
Hola all. A friend and I recently passed through Tarapoto and were looking for someone or something more authentic and reasonably priced to take ayahuasca. We both had suffered tough break-ups in the past year and needed a rejuvenation aside from our south america trip. After asking around we found shamanic vida. They were so accommodating, their vibe was the nicest. It was a beautiful experience of two ceremonies and meditation classes.
Anyone thinking about going, you will leave feeling fresh and like a better version of yourself. We are both extremely thankful to these kind human beings for helping us both.
My time here was more than I could have hoped for this past weekend. After hearing about a friend of a friend who did a retreat with shamanic vida, I felt confident to go down to peru. They went above and beyond, giving me so much insight as to what i had to see. They supported me through the porocess and now I have belief in this magical plant and all it can do; for your soul the deep down true soul waiting to blossom. I am grateful beyond words.
They do their work in a genuine manner and with lots of consideration for your goals and what is good for you. I was given a meditation to focus on, but it was personilized in the shamans language; just one of many things that really touched my heart and I am going to share with others. To have been listened to and considered was more than I hoped for. I am tearing up just thinking about this beautiful trip, it feels like a dream. I hope anyone who is in need of healing goes to them. I wish I could have stayed longer and am going to recommend this to anyone I meet in need of healing.
It is a blessing to have been in the care of these wonderful humans. To say I am deeply grateful is the best way to put how my ayahuasca retreat went at Shamanic Vida. The center was a safe environment, beautiful and really made you feel comfortable. The experience was more genuine than you could expect. They provided a setting which encouraged profound healing, deep connection with mother nature where it is easy to connect through meditation. Their compassionate energy from the staff was contagious and though we were in semi-silence or spoke different languages, I felt a great sense of oneness with the other participants. I was intent my experience be authentic and I can say it absolutely was, the songs, the ceremony room and everything. I only wish I could of stayed longer, but I feel like I got the healing and connection with the plant spirit I needed.
I traveled to shamanic vida this june to join the 8 day retreat. After thinking through some other recommendations made by friends and researching, I felt my teacher was meant to be Pacco because of his understanding and practice of Buddhist beliefs. I myself am Buddhist and have been heavily reading books on plant consciousness, fields of energy and astral projection.
About my journey. They picked me up from the airport and I was so enchanted by this tiny jungle town. The center was only about 20mins maybe less from there. Right when I got there I knew this was the right decision for me. It was secluded, I was surrounded by lush green, except for the blue sky and dots of flowers.
The ceremonies only added to ambiance. I felt looked after and cared for by the friendly peruvians, gardeners, kitchen people, facilitators and cleaners. Not to mention during the ceremony shakobi? was patient with me and always one step ahead in making sure I was cared for.
What more can I say… Ahha how great I feel. My body has been purified and the ayahuasca brought me into the field, showed me this great life force working inside each and every one of us. I now appreciate everyone I meet because I know they have a purpose and are part of the energy flowing in and out of this universe.
I have never written a review for anything, but this is worth writing about. I want everyone to be able to have the type of positive experience I did. It has been a few months and I still feel like I am glowing. They were sensitive, kind and did an amazing job helping me work through my issues. I came home with a new perspective and many things changed for the better. What they provide is like an intense and succesful therapy in a few days, its unbelievable. Their puppy mini was the cutest, I still miss her! The retreat was beautiful. They were very attentive.
Honestly, the best way I can describe it is like my life was heading towards various dead ends and now some new roads are paved for new destinations and journeys. I hope anyone who has the opportunity goes with shamanic vida for their retreat.
Love, peace and light <3
When I decided to come to the jungle to drink the ayahuasca medicine I was very worried how it would work out. I knew once we spoke among friends and from watching documentaries this medicine could be for me. The first ceremony I participated in was very difficult for me. I wanted to almost leave right at the finish. I did not leave and stayed 4 more days. The people working helped me very much. The talk I had with the shaman helped me to have more strength to take more ayahuasca medicine. It was only the first one was so much information for me.
To be in the jungle was breathetaking so many butterflies and it smelled just fresh all the time. The rooms gave you enough privacy and for me this was very important. Eating was good not too special but we did have some different fruits with interesting flavors.
Now I have been back, I feel this was a beautiful change in my life. The bumpy roads I was on with my family are now better. I am living in harmony and peace. This is something I did not think was possible for me at a time in my life. Everything in my life is better I know
It is hard work the people there do but it is a good work. they are always smiling and considering the people around them. The shaman is a wiseman and I could feel he was guiding me on my healings he gave me an herb to take home for tea to help me when I need to find my peace.
I will recommend Shamanic Vida to many of my friends for the reasonable price, high quality, and exceptional experience, not to mention the cleanliness. I enjoyed every minute of the six days I spent in the jungle. They all were caring and personable to myself and the others. They personally escorted us from the city and then into the more remote jungle.
We were on the ayahuasca diet, but there were a few surprising meals of fresh fish and yuccas. Sans any seasoning, but it was really great energy. The breakfasts were pretty good too, I think it has changed me for the better to see I dont need meals saturated with dressings and seasonings.
There were three ayahuasca ceremonies and one san pedro ceremony. I felt cared for and secure in all of the ceremonies. I cannot say I was afraid for even a moment. Still finding it hard to believe I traveled all the way to the jungle to take this brew that induced vomiting, visions, and a complete life change.
Here I am, to tell other people about this, if you can make it to Peru go see them at Shamanic Vida. This is the best advice I can give anyone.
The first time I have been to Peru and done an ayahuasca retreat. I knew this would be the place for me to heal my internal emotional scars and open up my third eye to bbegin painting again. Mother ayahuasca did just that for me. I stayed quite awhile, first the five days, then I decided I had time and could do more work. Arriving in the jungle made me feel as though I had entered the garden of eden, it filled my soul. The shaman and everyone helping are pure and beautiful, they welcomed me and gave me the best care. I even got to see them cooking the ayahuasca while I was there. This made me feel at ease. The shaman leads you to know yourself in a pure way and to the worlds beyond this one guiding you in a loving manner along with the mother plant. They were professional and I have recommended my friends and family to come see them.
