Private Ayahuasca & San Pedro Retreat in the heart of San Pedro de Vilcabamba, in Loja, Ecuador. Casa Del Sol works with small groups to optimize the quality of your experience, and share the space as a family. Blessed with a beautiful location within the Valley of Longevity, we integrate ourselves with its powerful medicine; our retreats include walking through its mountains, cleansing ourselves in the waterfalls and in the river in front of our home. We make offerings, meditate, practice yoga, hold sweat lodges and plant medicine ceremonies to encourage this integration.

This was exactly what I needed. Before the retreat I was feeling so stuck and struggling to deal with all my past and current traumas. I really didn’t know where to turn. I had tried so many different types of therapy and healing and still I was stuck.
Throughout the retreat I was able to find peace within, joy, and a new love for myself. I hadn’t felt much of any of those in many years.
Ximena and Santiago are truly amazing people and healers and the medicine was powerful and made with love. You can feel their dedication to the practice and to each individual participant. They made us feel held and supported every step of the way.
The land and space was absolutely gorgeous! Clean and tidy inside with all the amenities you need. The meals prepared for us each day were delicious and clean. Nourishing to the body and soul. Thank you Nati! The landscape was nestled between mountain ranges with so much lush greenery everywhere you turned.
If you are looking for a change in your life or to become more connected to your spirit and the spirit of the land, this is the place to go.
I am beyond grateful for this family and will most certainly be coming back.

    A Sacred Journey Home

No matter where you are in your spiritual journey Casa del Sol is a must experience for those who feel the calling. Ximena and Santiago are true and respected shamans dedicated to helping every single person who comes to Casa del Sol. The experience is like peeling back layers of an onion to its core. In this case you’re peeling back layers of yourself, who you think you are including ego, patterns, traumas, emotions, and much more. Whether you are new to plant medicine like I was, or experienced, all the elements of this retreat from sweat lodges, to San Pedro, to Ayahuasca, to, Kambo, to breath taking hikes, to group sharing is truly truly special and can be a very transformative experience. The benefits are priceless as the experience provides clarity to who you truly are, who you can become, your purpose in life, your capabilities as human, what connects all beings, and more.

What I appreciated most about this experience is the one on one attention you get from either Ximena, Santiago, or any of the trained facilitators. This is because the group capacity is perfect, not too many people within a retreat. Ximena, Santiago, and family take everyone in as if they are part of their family. They genuinely support and care for everyone. I am forever grateful for everything they provided, their kindness, their support, their hospitality and their love for all.

Casa del Sol is rooted in deep and profound respect and love for pachamama (mother earth), ancestors, and the highest ideals of what it means to be human. I highly recommend Casa del Sol for everyone seeking a deeper relationship with self and all beings and more clarity around life purpose, consciousness, and the responsibility this awareness brings.

    Very positive experience.
Like the other reviewers I am deeply grateful to Santiago, Ximena, Mateo, Suzannah and other members of the Casa del Sol family.
This family is dedicated to serving plant medicines in a respectful manner that furthers the personal growth of their guests. I have participated in many plant medicine retreats and Casa del Sol is very authentic on all levels.
My wife and I were the oldest members of the retreat by quite a few years. We felt very comfortable at Casa del Sol.
    With respect, thank you.

I had an wonderful experience at Casa del Sol. It was a very family centered experience working with Santiago, Ximena, and Mateo. The shamans will get to know you and your intentions prior to ceremonies, which is very important. The medicine journeys are amazing but also safe and supported with skilled healers. The atmosphere they create is beautiful and full of love. Healing requires your commitment to do the hard work, and the people at Casa del Sol will make it possible for you. It includes following a diet and healthy and delicious meals are prepared for you in their kitchen. I hope to return here again before too long.

This retreat was monumental for the healing of our family due to loss of a loved one. I highly recommend for anyone wanting to work individually or together to improve on connections, shed pain, and understanding self. It is an opportunity to learn and grow in unique ways with amazing people!

Words are not enough to describe the experience you will have at Casa del Sol. Santiago, Ximena, Mateo, and their entire family and people assisting them will change your world and life. This is the second time I have worked with them and I felt just as much love, support, and healing as the first time. If you have worked with plant medicine before, your experience here will be unrivaled. If you are new to the work, know that you will be supported and guided with no pressure and no expectations other than bring an open mind and heart.

Before I came to Casa del Sol, I had some experience with plant medicine after going on retreat in Peru. I knew that I wanted to share the experience with family and loved ones. For my retreat at CdS, I invited my mother with me to help her deal with her demons and nagging issues with grief, while I wanted to continue down the spiritual path that opened up to me after my first plant medicine ceremony. Santiago, Ximena and Mateo, along with Nace and Nati and the rest of the team were wonderful and welcoming, radiating high energy, always using the right moments to teach, other moments to heal, and others to be silent and let the tribe speak their truth.

I took a lot from each ceremony and felt like it was the right environment to work through my issues or just explore. My mother, who had never done any psychedelics in her life and was super brave, also came away from the ceremonies with a lot of insights and positivity. In her words, she said she felt ‘like she had the strength to move on now.’

It’s really challenging work and not recreational. You’ll be forced to confront your mortality multiple times throughout the retreat. If you’re not ready to do the work or give the process the proper respect, consider another healing modality. The temezcal on the first night will convince you that you’re in for some serious shit. The medicines are strong and you will be encouraged by the family to take as much as you can handle. Don’t be shy about asking for more, but trust the process, listen to the experts, and know your limits.

The local partners we got to work with in October were massage therapists, art therapists, yoga teachers, and a healer of the lymphatic system. Everybody has their head in the right place and seemed to know what we were going through. The people you’ll have access to will change from retreat to retreat though.

You’ll come away with new family members and the beginnings of a support network to help you through your integration process.

Casa del Sol comes super highly recommended. Would absolutely return and probably will after I’ve worked on what the medicine taught me.

My retreat was a month ago and I’m still feeling the love and mystery that was cultivated during my stay. I first want to start off with giving thanks to the Casa Del Sol family for sharing their medicines, home, and time, with me and the other attendees.

Second the group that I got to attend with was the best I could have asked for. The stars aligned for me at the moment of my retreat. I was going through a lot of hardships and even doubting my life decisions. My goal/plan was to find and cultivate some self love at this place. And I can say with full confidence that I sure did learn a lot about self love and more.

The three(four if you include Nassi) medicine people were professional and made me feel at ease during my time there. The way the itinerary was weaved with lessons while each shaman took guidance depending on the day was a thing of beauty.

I arrived to Ecuador feeling broken, lost, and in need of guidance. I left Ecuador with my head held high and with confidence instilled in my heart and mind. This place is beacon of light and hope.

If you are looking to start your medicine journey look no further. Casa Del Sol with work with you in ways you would never imagine.

Casa Del Sol called out to me and I answered the call. I am grateful I did. Looking back, I can appreciate the courage of all of our other retreaters. The support provided by the Casa Del Sol Family along with the collective expanding conciousness of our group allowed for a shared experience I will carry with me and treasure for the rest of my 3D life…there actually is more to life than 3D constucts.
Their expertise of the medicine, music and chants that kept me grounded in the beauty of thousand of years of ceromonies celebrating the love inside and outside of ourselves, their scheduling of the ceromonies and truly heartfelt oversight and care, makes me want to come back.
Santiago, Ximena, Mateo and Nassi not only invited us into their ceromonies, but stayed with us, which made me feel that they are more geared toward those that need a family style approach vs. strictly about business.
I am spreading the word about the best ayuhuaska retreat, but is more than a business, it is a stong family, steeped in the values and traditions of the Andes on a mission to provide the medicines and traditions to those that take up the challenge of spiritual growth.
Oh, the vegetarian food was excellent and filling!
    I miss you all.

The reviews shared on this site are completely aligned with my own profound experiences with Ximena, Santiago and their companions at Casa del Sol. Over my 11 days in their company, I was gently transported into the loving arms of Mother Earth and Father Sky/Universe in ways that made clear to me the connections all life shares. I was guided with loving wisdom out of the decades-long confusion of some of life’s challenges and settings. The beauty, reverence, and gentle care that surrounded me at every moment at Casa Del Sol gave me space and invitation to move into mysteries far more deeply than I had even hoped was possible. Ximena and Santiago embody the true essential being of healers with profound, unbounded compassion and patience for the people who come into their care, even for a short while. I am changed by being in their loving, sacred world. My suggestion is to take the offers of Casa Del Sol quite seriously, with sincere intention and deep respect. It is rare that such beautiful gifts are make available to ‘strangers’ so opening and honestly. You will be fortunate in their company.
