Brenna’s Light is the first donation based Ayahuasca Healing Center in Iquitos, Peru. We offer 6 day retreats Monday – Saturday. We work with the incredible Maestros Christian, Antenor, and Jairo. They are the sons and grandson of the late famous healer Don Julio Llerena who they studied under. You will have amazing ceremonies under their care.

We operate completely donation based, meaning on the final day of your stay you will leave a donation with us. Some will be able to leave more and some will be able to leave less, we only ask you leave an honest donation so we can continue to help people from all walks of life. For donation suggestions view our FAQ here: brennaslight.com/faq

The lodge is a one hour boat ride down stream from Iquitos, on the banks of the Amazon river. We have a beautiful space surrounded by nature. You will be in incredibly safe and caring hands while you stay with us and enter into a transformative state of healing. For more information please check out our website, or email us.

Love,

Brenna’s Light

We spent hours researching ayahuasca retreat centres before finally stumbling across Brenna’s Light. This is the only resort we found in Peru that did not seem overly commercialised but still legitimate. And our research paid off! We just spent an incredible week in the midst of the beautiful Amazon jungle. We had so much time to reflect and read (Justin keeps a collection of great books guests can borrow) and having inspiring conversations. Justin is so sweet and really cares about each and every one of his guests. He has himself gone through a lot and knows the ayahuasca medicine very well so has many helpful anecdotes and tips. The staff are all lovely. Walter, our personal jungle guide who knows more about birds and other animals than anyone else, the lovely ladies who cooked us delicious fresh vegan/vegetarian meals every day and of course Cristian who guided us through every ceremony and had good advice for everyone in the group shares, deserve special mention! Don’t expect anything fancy here – accommodation is basic (two bathrooms are shared between guests and staff and the occasional frog or spider) and wifi limited which is to be expected. It is really about the ceremonies and the healing here which is also reflected by the fact that this is entirely donation based. All in all, a life changing experience that we would highly recommend especially to everyone who has lived through trauma or has issues to deal with. Thanks again to Justin and the whole time for a great week!

This retreat is beautiful. I did a lot of research to find the perfect ayahuasca retreat and talked to many centers. As soon as I found Brennas Light I knew it was the one and going there this past week I am even more convinced. They are all so loving, like a family. They treat everyone so nice, with so much love as if we are part of there family. They have a very experienced Shaman who is very in touch with healing and very experienced in making the medicine. There tour guide Walter is hilarious and took us on some great adventures while we were there. The place is very comfortable and relaxing. It’s nice to be away from everything and experience the beauty of the Amazon jungle. Justin the owner is so caring and really wants to help people heal. He really connects with people and understands real life problems. I love how they all just want to help and provide the best experience. The ayahuasca experience was interesting, the most spiritual thing I have ever gone through. The vegetarian food is actually amazing too. I will be sure to come back soon. Thank you so much.

A welcoming retreat built on intentions of love and healing, clearly with a philosophy of inclusiveness. Can’t recommend it enough!

It was my first time working with the medicine, and I am very grateful it was here. The donation based system highlights the love that has lead to this place being built, with Justin genuinely caring about us as humans that can be offered something by the medicine.

The ceremonies are held in a beautiful maloka, and the shaman Christian sings beautiful icaros throughout the ceremony, including an individual one for each person. These made for an incredible experience just in their own right.

Being in it’s early days and in the jungle amenities are simple but comfortable. Individual rooms with double beds and shared bathrooms and showers. There is wifi if needed.

It’s really hard to put the whole experience into words – it was beautiful, lovely, cosy and I already want to go back. Justin is a perfect host, taking care of everyone – staff and guests. People who work there – Astedia, Walter, Christian, Omar, Roberto and all others are so sweet I immediately fell in love with them and felt as a part of a big family. All this was very important for the ayahuasca healing too. Really hope to be back with my friends and family ♥

Absolutely amazing place. Excellent for novices like me and also people with more experience. The owner really looks after you and makes sure everyone is as comfortable as possible in their stay. The Amazon is amazing. We saw dolphins and all sorts of beautiful birds. The place has a real family atmosphere to it which really helped me settle in there. From my limited knowledge, if you want to get the best out of your experience, it is important that everyone is truly genuine in their work. The people there are 100% genuine and committed to your well being. Excellent shaman who really made a connection with me. From first appearance he is ordinary but when he goes to work he really connects with the medicine. The place is filled with love and I really respect the donation based policy as it made me feel that Ayahuasca comes first and all other considerations are secondary. Which is rare in the modern day.
Thank you to the whole crew I had an experience I will never forget.
Oh and the facilities and food are great.

Brenna’s light is an amazing retreat center. I had a once in a lifetime experience there and met some really cool people. Justin is a great host and also the family that lives there and take care of all of us. Shamans did a great job during ceremonies and we were all sharing our experience together. Vegan food there was really tasty and healthy and really enjoyed every meal. Justin and people who are there took care of all of our needs and i am very thankful for that. We had jungle walks, boat rides, beach and plenty of books to read in our spare time. I would highly recommend this center for anyone interested. You will have a wonderful time there that can really benefit you. Thank you Justin!

Spent the last week at Brenna’s Light, outside of Iquitos, and had the most amazing experience. It is obvious from the moment you arrive at the retreat that this is a place for healing. There is no money up front, and your donation is left on the last day of your stay. The owner, Justin, along with the family and friends who work there, obviously believe very much in the healing power of plant medicines. In addition to Ayahuasca, there are other plant medicines for guests to try, at a reasonable cost. There are three Ayahuasca ceremonies to participate in during your stay (ours were lead by the Shaman Cristian, who did an amazing job), and the option to go on guided walks into the jungle, trips to the beach, and visits to neighboring villages. If you are looking for a place with a family atmosphere, lots of laughing, and great conversations, this could be a good fit for you. Highly recommended.

Wonderful, loving and informal place! There’s a great family feeling and they will do everything they can to make you as comfortable as possible. If you’re looking for a informal, social place in the jungle for your ayahuasca, this is sure it! There are 3 ceremonies with each a day of rest in between, which is really really welcome. These resting days are up to you. They have options like a jungle walk with a guide or going to the beach at the river for example. But if you just want to chill and do nothing, that’s fine too. They have interesting books to read. Make sure you check out the watch tower!
The ceremonies were really good and the guidance as well. The food is tasty, although if you do want a blend ayahuasca diet I’m sure all you have to do is just ask and they’ll prepare it for you.

Note: if you want a place to be sort of isolated and really in silence, than I think you shouldn’t go here but find a place for ‘retiro’. Because here it’s more being in the midst of a wonderful family :).

A place of healing. I am 50 years old. I have had many blessings in my life, but I have lived through much tragedy. I ended up in the Amazon Jungle after watching our son grieve the loss of the love of his life. When your children are hurting you will do anything you can to take their pain away. Our son was looking for healing. He was certain Ayahuasca was the answer. He asked me to go with him on his journey to Peru. I was scared and unsure, but he so believed in the healing powers of Ayahuasca, that I went. I believed in him and he believed in the medicine. I completed 3 ceremonies with Jairo and Antenor, the Shaman at Brenna’s Light. I can tell you it was the most profound spiritual journey I have been on. It was truly a gift given to me out of tragedy. Because I was able to trust our son, I was able to find the medicine. I want to bring my husband and other children back in order to experience the same healing I did. The medicine took me through chapters of my life. I connected with nature. I saw my spirit animal, the elephant. I felt. I cried. I loved. I forgave. I was shown a deeper understanding of events that took place in my life. I experienced much happiness and joy too. At times it was really hard work. It showed me experiences in my life I had buried. It helped me understand why certain people were put in my path. It allowed me to learn more about the person I am, my good traits as well as my flaws. The Shaman, Jairo and Antenor have beautiful voices. They were so connected with my healing. The ekiros they sang were in true alignment with what I was experiencing, sadness, anger, guilt, bravery, love, joy. Brenna’s Light is in a beautiful location on the banks of the Amazon River about an hour boat ride from Iquitos. The lodge is very peaceful. The staff are very friendly. The rooms are clean. They provided all the meals. Estedia is a great cook. The ceremonies, food and stay at the lodge are all provided through donations. I really appreciate their desire to provide this gift to anyone searching for spiritual awareness and healing. I have told my friends about my experience and I plan to go back. If you are reading this, I recommend you experience Brenna’s Light. Be sure to Pay It Forward with a nice donation so others may have the experience.

Brenna’s Light was a beautiful experience. All barriers are broken down and you are set free. The jungle is no joke, you surrender to nature. Ayahuasca is a medicine you become one with and allow for all self control to let go!
Each ceremony was different. It either taught me something or allowed me to let go. Overall it was a life changing experience and I look forward to more ceremonies. If I had to sum up my experience, I would say that I felt like one night was 5 years of intense therapy.

I just did a week at Brenna’s Light and had 3 life changing ceremonies with Maestro Antenor. I can’t even put into words how healing this week was for me. I healed deep rooted traumas and let go of so much grief that has been hindering my life. I highly recommend this place to anybody looking for a retreat center in Iquitos. The craziest part is they are donation based, I didn’t pay anything until my last day when they ask for a donation. You donate whatever you can… For reference I donated 600 dollars, which compared to other retreats in Iquitos that are around 2,000 dollars shows this place is about the medicine. Also it was a very personal experience which was amazing as there were not many other guests, but It’s a new lodge so I’m sure later down the road they will be more full once more people know about them
