To become a butterfly, the caterpillar should give up its previous form. After that, it becomes something new, while it keeps all the good it has a caterpillar. Our retreat center is doing the same. 🦋
We are the former “Light of the Shipibo” Retreat. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦, 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭 is the same. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 changed 𝐢s 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐲 𝐰𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐫.
We are happy to announce that we step to a new stage in our evolution so that we can fly higher, longer, and carry more weight.
For that, we are changing our name and from 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐨𝐧, 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 “𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞!” 🌴
“Lighthouse!” is an Ayahuasca Retreat Center located in the Heart of the Amazon Jungle in Peru🌴.
We are a boot camp for mental health training, spiritual sports, and self-exploration records. We are forging Champions of Life who want a change and are willing to make an effort for that. All it takes is commitment.🏆
We shine for those who are lost in the dark and need a sign to find the way Home. Our light is made of Health, Care, Knowledge, and Love.
We are conducting retreats for small groups ( up to 8 people). This will give you enough attention from the shamans and the team. You don’t need to be single on your journey anymore.
You would find with us an affordable, high-quality ayahuasca experience with comfort, safety, and all the necessities for a deep dive into healing, self-discovery, and love.
If you are serious about improving your life and setting your mind in order, you need allies. It would help if you had a team of people who know this path because they walked it many times. That’s us! 🙈

March 9, 2024 at 5:09 pmI found choosing a retreat centre a bit of an ordeal but I can assure you I am extremely happy that I chose The Lighthouse.
While in Iquitos for the weekend prior to the beginning of my retreat I was assured by several locals that it was an authentic retreat centre with a good reputation unlike many in the area that they said were not so, this came as a relief and my words how right they were. The vibe of the place hits you the minute you step foot off of the boat .You knew immediately upon arrival that you were in good hands ,the staff were warm, friendly, assuring and helpful constantly while nothing was ever too much trouble.
The location of the centre is amazing ,its slightly elevated above the River Amazon with incredible far reaching views across the river
If and when I ever decide to return to Peru I would without a doubt return to this beautiful, clean and very well run centre , thank you so much Joshua ,Ivan, Jino, Lady ,Christain Maestro Javo and the rest of the team ,I will remain eternally grateful to you all.
with love and gratitude

March 8, 2024 at 5:31 amMy 13-day journey at The Lighthouse Ayahuasca retreat was nothing short of miraculous. As someone with no prior experience with Indigenous medicines, I had many apprehensions. However, the initial discussions with Ivan dispelled most of my fears, who offered a nuanced perspective on the power of the medicine and the necessary preparations for a deeper transformative experience. His guidance, provided months in advance, laid the perfect groundwork for the retreat.
Arriving at the serene retreat on the banks of the Amazon, any lingering doubts dissolved in the presence of the extraordinary team. Their sincere kindness and reverence for the medicine instilled deep confidence and trust, which allowed me to completely surrender to the medicine, something I believe is essential for a profound ayahuasca experience. The unwavering support and guidance of hermano Christin, hermana Lady , Jino , Ivan and Joshua were instrumental in facilitating healing and transformation. Moreover, the camaraderie among fellow participants added another layer of support and understanding, enhancing the overall experience.
Throughout the retreat, we were provided delicious, organic, vegan meals, which complemented the medicine’s effectiveness.
The presence and energy of the powerful shaman Jairo was essential in deepening the experience which I don’t think I can adequately express in words. The closest description of it would be expressed by these lyrics from Tool
“embrace my desire to
Feel the rhythm, to feel connected
Enough to step aside and weep like a widow
To feel inspired
To fathom the power
To witness the beauty
To bathe in the fountain
To swing on the spiral
Of our divinity
And still be a human”
The Lighthouse Ayahuasca retreat has left an indelible mark on my soul, and for that, I am eternally grateful to the entire team.

February 2, 2024 at 3:28 pmI had the honour to to be guided into my first ceremonies by the wonderful people of the Light of the Shipibo (currently the Lighthouse), who I will be forever grateful to. They welcomed me into their retreat center, even with a short notice from my side, after that Ivan gave me the confidence to make the best possible choice. I arrived in Iquitos at the middle of January, to what would be one of the most life changing experiences of my life. Jino picked me up together with the other lovely participants, and we headed towards the center on a speedboat, along the Amazon river for a little over an hour.
When we finally arrived, I was mesmerised by the beauty of the forest, the bright energy surrounding me, and the little buildings that were just right. The dogs immediately came to say hello and give us kisses, guiding us towards the malocas. Everything was very clean and the facilities were nice and comfortable.
Full of curiosity and a little nervous, I got to meet the amazing team that would play a huge part in my journey, warmly welcoming and supporting us in every single way.
Lady and Christian were our lovely facilitators, holding our hand in our most vulnerable moments, more caring and kind that I could have ever asked for. Not only they were always there for us in every ceremony, but also made sure our healing journey was as holistic as possible. From serving us the healthiest meals and juices, to sharing the secrets of the jungle, or translating our conversations with maestro Rusbell, their involvement stems from love, not just hospitality.
And the maestro, the pillar of our spiritual path, one of the most fascinating people I ever met. There are no words to describe the powerful shamanic gift he possesses, but it’s safe to say that his protection and genuine motivation for healing allow you to connect and experience mama aya in a sublime way, through his magical icaros.
I loved the fact that we were a very small group of only 4 participants. We were lucky to connect immediately, supporting and encouraging each other along the way, building meaningful friendships and learning so much from our own experiences.
The Light of the Shipibo has a special place in my heart and I will be forever grateful for allowing me to become a keeper of the light.

February 2, 2024 at 9:41 amMy sons and I were privileged to spend the last 2 weeks of 2023 here in this lovely retreat. I would say that my experience here was nothing short of Magical!
I had many synchronicities happening throughout my stay, some went back as far as 3 years before coming to this beautiful place.
I would highly recommend this Retreat for anyone seeking a smaller more intimate group that will make you feel like family. I hope to get back to this family of mine in the jungle as soon as I possibly can. If you are considering Ayahuasca Kambo & Rappe’ you owe it to yourself to do your therapy the right way and go see these wonderful people at the Light of the Shapibo!!!

January 27, 2024 at 3:55 pmOk so! My name is Mar and I’ve been been working with the Medicine for almost five years in different countries and with different tradicions and I can say this is the first place I would recommend to anyone, either if you’re just starting or not! Tha price is affordable cause the vision of Joshua and Karen, the owners, is authentically sharing the Medicine, and with it the expansion of the heart, with as many people as possible. Only the place itself without the helpers and the Medicine would be in my opinion already beyond that price. The place is BEAUTIFULLL, in the heart of the jungle and the Amazon river. A quiet, silent place sourrended only by stars, birds and water. The team holds space for u genuinly and costantly, their mantra is "no se preocupe" (don t worry)…have u ever wished to go for a week somewhere where you have to solve absolutly nothing?! They re there for you with love and kindness, always. My beautiful, favorite and unique Shaman that was at that time holding ceremonies was abslolutley perfect in every way. I truly hope to go back some day, and hopefully soon! Thank u all! Mar

January 27, 2024 at 12:02 pmI had my first 3 ceremonies here, initially I was nervous like anyone would be.
From the first day of the retreat meeting Maestro, Lady, Cristian and Jino the boat as we journeyed into the Amazon I had a good gut feeling about the retreat. The moment we saw the retreat and stepped onto the deck, I felt safe.
The facilities are incredible, the knowledge that everyone has is unbelievable. I learnt so much in the 1 week I was there, my mind and soul has been expanded into new realities and it has changed my life.
Everyone made me feel comfortable like we were a family unit, they took care of us and have so much love to give and share. The background of how and why this place was built is inspiring, thank you Joshua and the team for creating this special place to share and help heal us. I hope one day I can come back here and would recommend it anyone.
With love Tuyen ( aka Miss Le)

January 26, 2024 at 12:46 amMy husband and I have had a few experiences with Mother, but what we experienced with Light of the Shipibo retreat was something different, something that is hard to explain in words. The love that they have to give is unbelievable. I would have stayed there permanently
Missing you guys already!

January 17, 2024 at 2:07 amIt was a great experience with them, all friendly supportive and kind people who they loved what were they doing. Ceremony was great and the Shaman was directing the ceremony with nice singing. Accomodation was clean and the food was perfect. The location is also unique. I had really great experience here and recommend it.

January 16, 2024 at 11:13 amLife changing, high quality, remarkable experience. I feel so honored to have experienced this plant medicine with such a loving, kind, soulful community. Although the medicine opened up inner dimensions that led to profound insights and healing…the people, the staff, and everyone else who contributed to the ayahuasca experience made it complete.
To Ivan, thank you for helping my fiancé and I prepare wisely and reassuring any questions or concerns we had.
To the kindest Lady Diana, Jino, and Joshua…thank you for profoundly helping me believe in myself and leaving my inner world a peaceful, brighter place.
To Christian, thank you for your cheerful, relaxing vibes all around. Always happily providing amazing service alongside Lady Diana. I am so inspired by how you both treat everyone with so much love and care all while employing such great humility.
To Lenin and Antonio, your work goes unnoticed. Thank you for ensuring operational success during the retreat.
To Maestro Jairo, the healing in your singing and sounds has rekindled my passion for making music.
To the rest of the staff, thank you so much for creating nourishing meals, cleaning our clothes and room so thoroughly.
With love and gratitude,
mel

December 29, 2023 at 5:28 pmI have been on a long plant medicine healing journey for over 2.5 years almost continuously, with 13 months of that back in the UK for Integration after the first Ayahuasca year 2021-2. To date, Dec 2023, I´ve experienced San Pedro, Kambo, Rapé, 8 plant Dietas, but mainly Ayahuasca over 60 ceremonies in 4 different countries (Peru, Ecuador, Columbia and Bolivia) and 7 different retreats. I am revisiting this retreat on 8 Jan 2024 when my Peru visa is renewed, to continue my healing journey. So, why here? I already spent 6 months continuously from May to October 2023 at the Light of The Shipibo, on a 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off Aya ceremony routine, with dietas. The reason is simple – because it’s the best retreat I’ve found for all the best reasons and I’ve done the legwork and spent the money! Everyone is such a wonderful person, with their own special traits and personalities. Joshua has done a lot of work over the last few years to build the ideal team he now has, and he is always thinking of new ways to improve. I’ve been to an expensive $3000 for 12 days retreat, and though good, it´s just not necessary to spend that amount to visit a retreat where the business model comes first, packing in 25 people, for an annual turnover of nearly $2M! There is a major loss of personal care and interaction at these type of retreats, in my view, as well as increased risk of overwhelming energies during ceremony with these large retreats, but you won’t know any different if it´s your first time. Shop around! Read lots of reviews, but best of all, go on personal recommendation and stear clear of private Shamans unless absolutely sure, on personal recommendation, that they are safe – that can be a very dangerous situation to find yourself in! Unfortunately, corrupt shamans are a reality, especially in Peru! The reality of retreat finances is it is not possible to provide a good service in Peru, on the Amazon, for less than $800 for a 3 ceremony week, due to the overheads – food, staff, quality shamans, tambos and facilities, security, maintenance, client/staff/food logistics etc. The thing that really stands out with Joshua’s retreat compared to all the others I have experienced, is that Josh’s core philosphy is to do the healing work of Mama Ayahuasca first and foremost, with love, kindness, understanding and integrity, attempting to ensure the best possible care of ALL their clients (that’s a big ask given the uniqueness of every individual and their possible state of being when first arriving, for many different reasons, but most commonly, trauma related). That philosphy is felt upon your arrival in the beautiful grounds, as there is a palpable feeling af love, peace and serenity that pervades, which is often missing from other retreats I’ve experienced – I could mention some names, but I won’t…lol. For perspective, of 7 retreats I’ve experienced, I only recommend 3. I regard all the staff here as my family, as they are all so loving, kind, understanding and patient, ready to help in anyway possible with any difficulties or reservations anyone may have when coming to Ayahuasca for the first time. The Light of Shipibo had group sizes at a maximum of 8 for the size Maloka they have, which means more of the Shamans attention is on you in a less detrimentally energertic space, depending what energies are brought by the clients. I have had the privelege of meeting and talking to about 16 different Shamans and Shamanas on my long journey and most have been wonderful and powerful people in their own way. For me though, I feel blessed at this retreat, having the two best Shamans I’ve ever worked with, Shamans Jiero and Urias, wonderful brothers and super powerful in ceremony! They have been happy to help with my personal requests for my dietas whilst at the retreat, sourcing and preparing the plants for and often with me, to show and explain to me the process. When at this retreat, I’m blessed to see many people’s Aya journey’s progress and I feel most priveleged to see the incredible positive changes in people from when they first arrive, carrying whatever burden they have, to seeing – in most cases – a massive relief from what ails them, a lightening of the soul and a renewed sense of self, direction and positivity. So, for me, there is only one retreat worth visiting – for all the right reasons – genuine love and care, best shamans, beautiful environment, best staff and best value for money. Best Wishes, Steve, @stevee4444
