To become a butterfly, the caterpillar should give up its previous form. After that, it becomes something new, while it keeps all the good it has a caterpillar. Our retreat center is doing the same. 🦋

We are the former “Light of the Shipibo” Retreat. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦, 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭 is the same. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 changed 𝐢s 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐲 𝐰𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐫.

We are happy to announce that we step to a new stage in our evolution so that we can fly higher, longer, and carry more weight.
For that, we are changing our name and from 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐨𝐧, 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 “𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞!” 🌴

This was my second time going to the Lighthouse, and once again, it was an amazing experience. I really love and appreciate everyone there. The staff genuinely cares about you and wants to share the medicine and their knowledge. When you arrive, they welcome you home and into their lives. I have become good friends with them and I am inspired by their kindness and knowledge.
When I first came to the Lighthouse, I was in a very dark place and struggling deeply with my past military experience. I served six years in the military and most of that time was spent bouncing around between Iraq and Afghanistan. Needless to say, that time damaged my heart and soul. I was in a great deal of pain from the things I had seen and experienced, and still carried that with me thirteen years after leaving the military. I was angry and sick because of how poorly we treat each other and ourselves. I was utterly lost and lacked hope.
The Lighthouse and Ayahuasca have completely changed my life. They have helped me find understanding and peace with my past and have helped give me my life back. I have been able to find direction again and hope for the future. I found a new sense of respect for myself and for all life… I don’t really have the ability to articulate how profoundly helpful my time there has been… They have saved my life.
I went back to the Lighthouse for a second time because I love the jungle and my friends there. And because I have more to learn from Ayahuasca. She has helped open my heart and mind. She created space inside me so I could breathe again and progress through the healing process. It is sometimes a challenging journey and very difficult. It requires bravery and hard work, but the hope, joy, and freedom that lies on the other side is worth the initial trepidation and discomfort.
I have learned the reason I felt so much pain, anger, and fear was because I do love this planet and our people. Seeing so much violence and all the pain and suffering inflicted upon one another hurt me. It hurts my soul, and when the pain becomes so intense, it overwhelms us, and we lose our sight. I think Ayahuasca has the power to help heal our people. She can help us reconnect to the Earth and our hearts and souls. Through this process of healing our people, is how we change the world.
If you are thinking about trying Ayahuasca, I know the Lighthouse will take care of you and guide you. The people here truly want to help others and make the world a better place. If you are in pain and suffering, it is because there is love inside you that needs to be shared. The Lighthouse can help you find the way.

My time at the Light House was a wonderful, life changing experience. I made close friends/families, and I felt so much love for others and myself after… I can truly say it’s not just the Ayuhuasca ceremonies and the Maestro’s work but the whole entire team that made it so great.

The whole process from booking to getting to the center, food, participating the ceremonies, and leaving the center and getting back to the airport, was so organized, easy, and smooth, and I truly in-joyed every single second of it.

The location is perfect, the way the center was built into the land, made me felt connected to mother Earth and the plants, it’s hard to put these feelings into words. The “open-air” maloca, allows us to be with the jungle, listening to the thunderstorms, rain, birds, bugs, and animals, while we were in the ceremonies, this stood out to me the most, as I was able to flow with nature, guided by the sound of it and Maestro to navigate through my Ayuhuasca journey.

The whole entire team gave me so much love, not just our wonderful facilitators, Lady and Christian, but also Yoko and her assistant, Lenin, Antonio, the pups and kitties, and the Maestro and Kambo Master! They welcomed us with hugs and smiles, they guided and listened to us when we shared our darkness, they are kind and loving… and giving!

And the small group I was a part of, the 4 of us connected instantly, and the small group made me feel comfortable to share my experiences as days goes on. I didn’t just got to know myself more, and heal some part of me, I also made lifelong friendships and family!

p.s. this was the best 30th birthday ever! They even surprised me with a fruit cake!

My 2nd visit for 2 weeks & travelling alone to Peru was one of my best experiences ever! I felt the need to return to the Lighthouse very soon after our first 1-week retreat, and only three months later I was back at the end of November 2023 for two weeks and another six ceremonies. But this time, my husband didn’t want to come, so I decided to go alone.

Being back in the Jungle was kind of dream-like. It was already winter in Canada, but always summer in Peru, the rainy season was around the corner, there were more sudden rainfalls and also a bit more mosquitoes than in August, as expected. What was new to me is that between the two weeks we had the weekend off, when there was no program, just chilling and recharging. We had nothing else to do but rest, eat and enjoy doing nothing, and we really needed it as another week with three ceremonies was still ahead.

As a second timer it was interesting to observe that my whole being remembered the previous experience, therefore my awareness was sharper, and I got much further in my own healing process. I can say that a 2 week long retreat is quite enough even to go to untouched territories of your past, and face incompletions and broken hearts. It is not an easy ride, but you’ll have all the help and support from the Maestro or Maestra and the team that you need to heal as much as you possibly can during your stay. And of course, your healing will continue after the retreat, but you’ll have a different, evolved perspective of your life.

It was a magical experience that we had 2 Shamans. Lilia and Hernan were perfect together, flooding us with infinite love and their pure feminine and masculine energies. And the Lighthouse team is just the best! They are like family to me, and they treated everyone with so much love, care, kindness and respect all the time.

There is one more thing I’d like to mention, if you are not sure yet whether to go to the Lighthouse with your loved one/friend, or alone. For the first time I was there with my husband, because we had the same feeling that doing aya together is the best for us – and yes, it really was, we loved every minute of it, and using plant medicine surely became part of our healing journey.
But since I’ve already tried it without him, I’d like to give you one more perspective. I must admit that doing the retreat without your loved one gives you extra room for self-development, honest reflections, inner growth and deep healing. Why? Because nobody knows you there, yet, so you don’t need to behave the usual way and you can let yourself be on the loose for a little while mentally and emotionally – which is healing by itself!! And being there simply as a Person (not as a role you’re in, like husband, wife, mother, brother, friend, etc.), gives you the gift of bonding on your own terms, and you’ll be more likely to make meaningful connections with the other group members, the Shaman, the team, but most of all, with Yourself.

For me, both ways were perfect at the time, and I’m sure you’ll also make the best decision for yourself!

Wishing you a wonderful journey with the Lighthouse and I hope to meet you there!
    Love, Krisztina

My ayahuasca journey was not the easiest , but people at the retreat made sure I was well taken care off. Christian, Lady, Gino and rest of the team were amazing and truly cared about me. Also, it is best value for the money spent.

My retreat experience at this center was nothing short of amazing! From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed, loved, and fully accepted by the incredible team. Lady Diana, Christian, and Jino were not only attentive but also incredibly friendly, making me feel right at home. Their dedication to creating a safe and loving environment was evident in every interaction.

Set amidst the breathtaking beauty of the Amazon rainforest, this center provides a serene and tranquil setting for introspection and growth. While the facilities may be ascetic, they are equipped with everything one might need for a comfortable stay.

The ceremonies were conducted with precision and care, allowing me to fully immerse myself in the experience without any worries. Throughout each moment, I felt supported and cared for by the team, which truly made all the difference.

In summary, my time at this retreat center was transformative and deeply fulfilling. I cannot recommend it enough for anyone seeking a safe and nurturing environment to explore their inner journey.

Magical experience!! Truly a beautiful, small paradise in the middle of the Amazonian rainforest where you can experience Ayahuasca & Kambo in a safe and professional way. The entire team is really working from their hearts and with full devotion to provide the best experience possible. This is a place with “good vibes only” – perfect for having a deep encounter with abuela Ayuhuasca. I especially liked the nice rooms, the amazing food, the jungle tour and the small group setting with the possibility to regularly talk to the curandero & the facilitators. Thank you so much to curandero Antenor, manager Jino, facilitators Lady & Christian, remote manager Ivan, the entire rest of the team in the kitchen & on the premises. Also of course to the other participants that have made these few days so special.

I found choosing a retreat centre a bit of an ordeal but I can assure you I am extremely happy that I chose The Lighthouse.
While in Iquitos for the weekend prior to the beginning of my retreat I was assured by several locals that it was an authentic retreat centre with a good reputation unlike many in the area that they said were not so, this came as a relief and my words how right they were. The vibe of the place hits you the minute you step foot off of the boat .You knew immediately upon arrival that you were in good hands ,the staff were warm, friendly, assuring and helpful constantly while nothing was ever too much trouble.
The location of the centre is amazing ,its slightly elevated above the River Amazon with incredible far reaching views across the river
If and when I ever decide to return to Peru I would without a doubt return to this beautiful, clean and very well run centre , thank you so much Joshua ,Ivan, Jino, Lady ,Christain Maestro Javo and the rest of the team ,I will remain eternally grateful to you all.

    with love and gratitude

My 13-day journey at The Lighthouse Ayahuasca retreat was nothing short of miraculous. As someone with no prior experience with Indigenous medicines, I had many apprehensions. However, the initial discussions with Ivan dispelled most of my fears, who offered a nuanced perspective on the power of the medicine and the necessary preparations for a deeper transformative experience. His guidance, provided months in advance, laid the perfect groundwork for the retreat.

Arriving at the serene retreat on the banks of the Amazon, any lingering doubts dissolved in the presence of the extraordinary team. Their sincere kindness and reverence for the medicine instilled deep confidence and trust, which allowed me to completely surrender to the medicine, something I believe is essential for a profound ayahuasca experience. The unwavering support and guidance of hermano Christin, hermana Lady , Jino , Ivan and Joshua were instrumental in facilitating healing and transformation. Moreover, the camaraderie among fellow participants added another layer of support and understanding, enhancing the overall experience.

Throughout the retreat, we were provided delicious, organic, vegan meals, which complemented the medicine’s effectiveness.

The presence and energy of the powerful shaman Jairo was essential in deepening the experience which I don’t think I can adequately express in words. The closest description of it would be expressed by these lyrics from Tool

    “embrace my desire to
Feel the rhythm, to feel connected
Enough to step aside and weep like a widow
    To feel inspired
    To fathom the power
    To witness the beauty
    To bathe in the fountain
    To swing on the spiral
    Of our divinity
    And still be a human”

The Lighthouse Ayahuasca retreat has left an indelible mark on my soul, and for that, I am eternally grateful to the entire team.

I had the honour to to be guided into my first ceremonies by the wonderful people of the Light of the Shipibo (currently the Lighthouse), who I will be forever grateful to. They welcomed me into their retreat center, even with a short notice from my side, after that Ivan gave me the confidence to make the best possible choice. I arrived in Iquitos at the middle of January, to what would be one of the most life changing experiences of my life. Jino picked me up together with the other lovely participants, and we headed towards the center on a speedboat, along the Amazon river for a little over an hour.
When we finally arrived, I was mesmerised by the beauty of the forest, the bright energy surrounding me, and the little buildings that were just right. The dogs immediately came to say hello and give us kisses, guiding us towards the malocas. Everything was very clean and the facilities were nice and comfortable.
Full of curiosity and a little nervous, I got to meet the amazing team that would play a huge part in my journey, warmly welcoming and supporting us in every single way.
Lady and Christian were our lovely facilitators, holding our hand in our most vulnerable moments, more caring and kind that I could have ever asked for. Not only they were always there for us in every ceremony, but also made sure our healing journey was as holistic as possible. From serving us the healthiest meals and juices, to sharing the secrets of the jungle, or translating our conversations with maestro Rusbell, their involvement stems from love, not just hospitality.
And the maestro, the pillar of our spiritual path, one of the most fascinating people I ever met. There are no words to describe the powerful shamanic gift he possesses, but it’s safe to say that his protection and genuine motivation for healing allow you to connect and experience mama aya in a sublime way, through his magical icaros.
I loved the fact that we were a very small group of only 4 participants. We were lucky to connect immediately, supporting and encouraging each other along the way, building meaningful friendships and learning so much from our own experiences.
The Light of the Shipibo has a special place in my heart and I will be forever grateful for allowing me to become a keeper of the light.

My sons and I were privileged to spend the last 2 weeks of 2023 here in this lovely retreat. I would say that my experience here was nothing short of Magical!
I had many synchronicities happening throughout my stay, some went back as far as 3 years before coming to this beautiful place.
I would highly recommend this Retreat for anyone seeking a smaller more intimate group that will make you feel like family. I hope to get back to this family of mine in the jungle as soon as I possibly can. If you are considering Ayahuasca Kambo & Rappe’ you owe it to yourself to do your therapy the right way and go see these wonderful people at the Light of the Shapibo!!!
