Sapo man's Reviews
Orillas del Río Uchima, Barrio Sacapo, Parroquia San Pedro de Vilcabamba, Loja, Ecuador
I met Santiago at another retreat years ago. His work, and undying determination, to assist any and every person looking to heal their spirit, child in themselves, or alleviate from mental or underlying diseases is truly unparalleled. So when I heard about Casa Del Sol, I immediately knew where I’d get my healing done. There’s not even an ounce of regret in my body for venturing out to Vilcabamba.
I arrived a day behind schedule and walked right into the house to find the rest of my retreat group, Santiago, and his marvelous partner Ximena having dinner—they just got back from a morning/afternoon San Pedro hike. Everyone was very warm and welcoming even without me knowing they all took the plant medicine! It was my first time meeting Ximena, and she so kindly catered to my arrival, sitting down one on one with me to ask me questions and how I was generally feeling that very first night. That woman emits pure, exuberant confidence, and her voice, whenever she sings or speaks is angelic…very soothing during ceremonies. It was lovely getting to know Ximena; a hard worker around the property as well as with the plant medicine, and humble just like Santiago.
I’ll spare the details from the rest of my retreat but will say this…the space and compassion found in Casa del Sol is absolutely beautiful…this is coming from someone who was a nervous and timid young man. Santiago and Ximena allow us visitors to feel right at home with each other, staying up all hours of the day and night to just mingle, and really get to being open, vulnerable, and honest with others, but more importantly ourselves! The ceremonies are wonderful and highly immersive! Full of vibrant energy and a safe space to explore higher levels of consciousness under the guide of Santiago and Ximena. I originally was going to stay for 8 days but the location of Casa del Sol, Santiago, Ximena, one of their sons, and my retreat group members captured my heart to stay and do the full retreat. Already plan to go back sometime later in the future.
