We highly appreciate every review we receive.

Every review is an opportunity for us to understand the way we serve our mission, according to the way that is perceived by the ones we serve.

Not only does every guest have the right to offer his or her feedback, every guest is encouraged to do so in a sincere way. Through it we can better behold what we do and how we fulfill our purpose as a healing Center.

Feedback, by definition, is something that is supposed to nourish by giving back. Like medicine, it is supposed to do well, regardless of the way it tastes at first. True feedback will uplift and heal even when it might not have a pleasant taste.

Feedback uses facts, and it also reflects the subjective perception of the one who offers it.
Each individual´s own perception speaks not only about that which is being referred to, but also, if not more than anything else, the degree of committed effort to discern any affair clearly, or on the contrary, the lack of truthfulness contained in one´s own perception, when clouded by deluded understanding.

Both, delusion and clarity pertain to a human being´s understanding, and that does come across inevitably.

We can make a conscious effort to come from a place of truthfulness if we are to serve as an agent of true transformation in our world, if we are willing to leave behind that which does not truly serve ourselves, or others.

Many a times lack of commitment to admit our own shortcomings come across and lead the way we react and behave in an attempt to excuse our own inability to admit, confront and work out what is being asked from us at any given moment.

We are and will remain open to all reviews, for we have faith that all people benefit from the opportunity to exercise truthful speech, to offer uplifting feedback filled with truthfulness, including nice and tough observations springing from an inner place of truth.

We have hope and confidence this space will serve that highest purpose, welcoming all that uplifts us helping us to serve our mission in the best way possible, refining it again and again.

Thank you all.

Hi Brian – thanks very much for your feedback, I’m so glad you had a good experience! Regarding activities during the day, we have one-on-one consultations with the head Shaman and translator on the first day, with “group share” conversations the morning after each ceremony. However, additional individual consultations with the Shaman are always available upon request after that first one – facilitators should be making that clear upon arrival, I will make sure they are doing so! We do offer jungle expeditions in the afternoons each day, so there are plenty of activities to do if you would like to explore the surrounding Pacaya Simiria National Reserve, with our local jungle guide.

As well, while we certainly ensure we our Peruvian staff is well taken care of (we have a great relationship with the local village Libertad, where we employ most of the village on a rotating basis, and help out with major projects such as installing free solar panels for every home to have electricity and light – check out lightupthevillage.org if you would like to help out with this latest project!), we also have tipping jars right next to the maloca for the staff – I will check with my team on this as well, to ensure people are aware if they would like to donate anything extra – that’s very kind of you to say and desire this, so we really appreciate the feedback! Every little bit helps, and we want to make sure people have the chance to give back if it resonates with them.

Thank you again for this Brian, and best of luck integrating into life back home – you know you always have a home with us!

Love,
The Pulse Team

Hi Oran – First of all, thank you for the review, we sincerely appreciate your honesty and willingness to share your feedback and help us continue to improve our operations and staff. We’re saddened to hear that your experience left you feeling distant from us, the facilitators. We strive to create and maintain a place that’s safe, comfortable and supportive for every guest’s healing process. As facilitators have no places to hide and never try to. We make sure that you know who we are, our roles at the centre, where our rooms are and that we are available 24/7, even after your retreat ends. Part of our jobs and to maintain the environment we work hard to cultivate here, means being mindful to have the right balance between when to and when not to interfere with your process. It’s a tricky path for us to navigate – when do we reach out and engage with you, and when do we allow you your own contemplative space. There are many variables we take into account and unfortunately there is no rule book to work from, but we do our best to intuit what is that right choice. From our hearts we genuinely apologize if we got it wrong and did not reach out to you enough or if we were lacking in providing the support you needed throughout your experience. We appreciate all the feedback we get, especially those that allow us to learn and make the right changes going forward. -Your Facilitators at Pulse

Our model is based on accountability and transparency, and our organization is built on the backs of guest reviews. At the end of each retreat, we pass out thank you cards with a written request to leave us a review and we also offer a free company T shirt (otherwise sold for $25) for those who wish to commit to leaving us a review when they return home.

Our spiritual programs are directly translated from our three full-time indigenous Shipibo shamans, unadulterated apart from some terminology we change to soften up the religious language they use, for those more universally spiritual, non-spiritual or even atheist guests that we welcome. However, rest assured that the medicine is work is 100% authentic Shipibo medicine, and the shamans do their healing work in a deeply spiritual realm that few understand. Apart from the medicine work, we offer jungle adventures, fitness and a usually fun social bonding experience between the group. We do believe that deep spiritual healing can coexist with fun, adventure and a social bonding experience.
